I ate with a friend who had some trouble w textures. This is normal with many of the people I have run into. So I had decided to avoid anything not salmon or a more common seafood. He had some ramen and added chicken. The ramen was off for him. I couldn't smell this bad smell but it was bad for him. This place isn't known for ramen and since I can make my own and since a relative of mine got mad at me when I ordered instant, I have a tendency to look for handmade only or to just go eat something else or elsewhere. I don't go to Media much but it was nice stumbling upon this sushi place. The inside wasn't very big but everything was nicely spaced out. I dined in for lunch specials and was very pleased! I got a teriyaki shrimp bento box that came with shrimp, rice, California rolls, egg rolls, and dumplings. So many things to munch on and taste. The star of the dish was the shrimp and yummy egg rolls. All the sides were all veg friendly too! The sushi was good! Nothing over the top exciting but worth a lunch try. I didn't love this place. But it might be because I ordered the wrong thing - my dining partners got sashimi and sushi and loved their meals. I ordered the ramen which I was really looking forward to. And our server helped me pick which ramen I would want. I also ordered an app. My ramen came out first about 10 minutes before my dining partners' meals. Then my dining partners' meals came out. And then my app came out when I was more than halfway done my ramen. Sadly, i found the broth of my ramen lackluster. Ordered delivery for a bunch of rolls and tempura. The taste was good, nothing too bad. But the sizes of the sushi rolls were smaller than expected. The tempura was good but the sauce provided tasted bottled. However, no issues there. I would have probably given 4 stars if we got proper sized sushi rolls. read more

Temaki Sushi was very accommodating with my boyfriend's severe nut allergy -- we phoned them to ask if it would be an issue and they assured us that they don't really work with nuts and that they could ensure our sushi rolls would be totally nut-free, which of course they were. We both ordered their Lunch Special Combos to go, which come with either 2 or 3 rolls depending on which combo you get and a small ginger salad and miso soup. They were terrific deals and I was blown away by how fresh the sushi was. I had the California Roll and the Tuna Avocado Roll and I wouldn't have changed a thing about either one -- they were both so yummy. This is 100% going to be my new go-to sushi spot nearby. I am surprised at the ratings I see on Yelp (I expected higher). Temaki moved to this location a couple years back. We have many sushi options in the area but, when we want our favorite rolls, we get it from Temaki. Our favorite (huge roll) is the New Dragon roll. I came here with my parents on Valentine's Day because my mom was craving some ramen. We ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, sizzling chicken teriyaki plate, a bunch of rolls for me (yellowtail nigiri, yellowtail scallion, shrimp tempura, crunch roll, and eel cucumber roll). The ramen was mediocre. Noodles were way too soft, broth tastes like beef broth you'd find at a grocery store, and there were barely any toppings. Cha shu was tough and had no fat. That was a bummer. The chicken teriyaki was subpar. Chicken was dry. My dad was a trooper and ate it all. I know most of the reviews here raves about the sushi. I can't lie, the sushi isn't too bad for Media standards. However, I can tell the fish wasn't too fresh and the rolls were 70% rice and 30% filling. I was just way too hungry to even care (my rolls came out 20 minutes after my parents received their entrees). Maybe I'd order to-go sushi from them again, but that's about it. I love Temaki! We get takeout here about 2-3 times a month. We've also eaten in and it has a nice ambiance- BYOB and there is a beer shop nearby. I love it here! This is my first review but I have been here several times. Each time was during lunch so first off, the prices at lunch time are way better then the dinner prices. At lunch time there are specials that come with a salad and miso soup or your choice of bento box lunch. At lunch they are never really crowded so it was easy to get a table, get our food and enjoy. The dinning room is a bit tight. It is quiet. We ordered several things. The Snow White roll, avocado fries, tuna jalapeño poppers and spicy tuna roll. Everything was really good and had really good flavor. I really enjoy the avocado fries. They were hot, soft in the inside and crispy on the outside. Lunch for two was about 38 dollars. In Media that's not so bad for Media. I only gave them 4 stars because they are on the pricey side for lunch. read more

My husband and I went on a Wednesday night for media dining under the stars. Unfortunately the weather wasn't warm but we still ate outside anyways. We got 3 appetizers, the monkey brain, yakitori, and takoyaki. The monkey brain was avocado with spicy tuna inside deep fried with spicy mayo on top. I thought it was creamy and crunchy and delicious. Why didn't I think of that? Haha I look to recreate that at home. The yakitori came with 3 skewers with chicken breast and scallion drizzled with teriyaki sauce. This was ok, nothing notable ot tasty. The takoyaki was flat on the bottom and it was small. 6 balls were included in the order. They were crunchy on the outside which was great and had the octopus and creaminess inside. Topped with sauce, mayo and bonito flakes and seaweed. They were pretty comparable to ones in Japan just smaller and not completely round like they are supposed to be. Entrees were ok. My husband got the combo c which had spicy tuna roll, tuna roll, and yellowtail roll I think. They give you a bunch of fish in the roll which is pretty notable. It just wasn't amazing. It was ok. I got the chirashi and it was a let down. The tamago had a weird texture. The sashimi all had no taste except for the salmon and the white fish that I forgot the name of. The rice with the chirashi wasnt seasoned well some bits tasted like vinegar other parts just tasted like white rice. Overall it was an ok experience and its byob. I've been to better sushi places just wish they were closer to where I lived. If I went back I'd definitely just get the rolls and the monkey brain. read more

The sushi here is delicious!! The first time I came, I had the lunch special, so just some basic rolls. They were really good. It comes with a starter salad and soup (both small but not bad). The second time, we expanded a little bit. I started with the spring rolls and they were so good. They came in like 6 or 8 pieces with a sauce on the side. Then, I had two different sushi rolls. They were all so delicious. My friend who had only gotten one roll ended up ordering two more!! Then we shared chicken teriyaki - also delicious! This was my go-to sushi place while I was attending college and one of my favorite sushi places ever. Definitely the best place to get sushi in this area. Perfect for a date night or even dinner with friends. The restaurant is tiny and intimate. During the summer you can sit at tables outside on the sidewalk. It's BYOB and the servers will bring you an ice bucket to keep your wine chilled. I've been here probably 30 times and my favorite appetizers are the rock shrimp tempura and calamari tempura. What a shame. Utterly disappointing. Came for dinner and sat outside. Table and chair were wobbly but staff were nice. Food 1/5: I ordered tonkatsu ramen and the sushi combo A. The tonkatsu ramen is the farthest thing from tonkatsu ramen I've ever had. They don't have pork broth, so I chose miso broth. Nothing about the ramen was salty enough. The pork tonkatsu wasn't tonkatsu but it was barbecued? It tasted like if you combined thin cut pork with a 4th of July barbecue and burned it a bit. It was also very tough and chewy, unlike real tonkatsu which should be fatty and melt in your mouth. But ok, this is a sushi place and not a ramen place, right? Let's talk about the sushi. With the combo A, you get a salad and miso soup. The miso soup was bland, not salty enough, and had a funny aftertaste. The salad was just sad. A few pieces of lettuce and some dressing. And the sushi was awful. It was bland and soggy and chewy. The seaweed was somehow soggy and maybe stale? The overall roll just tasted like nothing but depression. Such a shame when you ruin such beautiful fish as tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. I was hoping that maybe sushi could be this place's redeeming quality, as it is a "sushi restaurant," but nope. The sushi was even worse than the strange, strange ramen. Service 1/5: As for the service, the staff were nice but as I was sitting outside, like with every other restaurant, I was completely neglected. The waitress was friendly and helpful at the beginning, but never checked on me after I got my sushi and didn't even bring soy sauce with the sushi. Really? I left 90% of the food on my plate, and she never asked how it was or offered to remake/comp. So I paid $35 for wasting 2 hours of my day and eating a few bites of depression. I can't get enough of this place. Last night my friend Joy and I got take-out. I got the salmon dragon roll, asparagus tempura roll, and monkey brains. She got a Philly roll with cucumber & avocado, a crunch roll, and spring rolls. This was the 3rd time I enjoyed sushi from Temaki. Each time it just gets better and better. The 2nd time I ordered I got the lunch special. I wish they'd secure the soup lids better or at least try a different kind of lid, as the bag was wet. Regardless, they still get 5 stars from me. I love those monkey brains. For those trying to avoid rice while still enjoying sushi, I suggest you order the monkey brains. I'd like to see some other variation of the monkey brains in the future. Service alone, 4 stars for being courteous and checking in on us Monkey brains had avocado that was fried with tempura, a sweet brown sauce, and a protein filling. I think this was my favorite out of all the fishes. Agedashi is a fried piece of tofu, and they provided a light flavored sauce. The tofu was a little too soft on the outside and wasn't fried enough as it broke right when we touched it. Also not a lot of flavoring on it as it tasted like just tofu thrown into a deep fryer. Takoyaki was fresh and came with a bunch of bonito flakes. Very big portions and each one has a piece of octopus and they def didn't skimp on that Love boat for two is enough for dinner and had tuna, salmon, octopus, a spider roll and spicy salmon roll. All were good and presentation was nice. Not the best sushi and sashimi I've had, but I'd come here again for it. Udon is for our light broth based lovers, with broccoli, carrots, udon noodles and protein. I've been to this sushi restaurant twice now. It's very convenient for us to get take-out from here since my husband works in Media. He'll just call ahead and pick up the food on his way home. Usually the food travels pretty well. I really like their pork gyoza, and their sushi is A-OK! They're spicy tuna maki and salmon avocado maki are both exactly what you'd expect. The sushi pieces are normal sized, which is important to note because our competing sushi joint has HUGE pieces of sushi. This joint does a good job at giving you what you need. Nothing is extravagant, everything is reasonably priced, and I haven't gotten sick at all from eating the food. The sushi is predictable in size and flavor, so you should leave here feeling satisfied! read more

Doggy Monday and we were there with my boy Tango and we were treated like royalty. The owner came by every 10 minutes to ensure we were satisfied. We sat al fresco, enjoying the cool evening. Tango got two dishes of complementary flavored rice, plenty of water, and a bag of treats. We started the evening with Yakitori and a "No Name" Roll that was exquisite, followed by the mandatory soup, Japanese-style salad, Chicken Teriyaki, and Diablo Roll. I have had my extreme share of sushi and this is the first place I have seen sushi this expensive. They're higher than center city prices and the rolls are itty bitty. I couldn't believe how tiny my sushi pieces were when they came out on the plate. Now for taste, I felt the items we ordered were too plain and lacking in some aspect. One dish needed this, another dish needed less, etc. Like the pork gyoza was stuffed with way too much onions, the special udon soup was bland and had no broth in it at all, and the sushi needed to be upgraded in every way. The only thing I really enjoyed was the calamari. I really like the wasabi sauce they served it with. I was originally going to go to a place in Delaware but decided to stay local. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. 1st time - ordered via GrubHub, arrived at stated pickup time and was told order was lost. Had already paid so waited the 20 minutes for the order to be made. 2nd time - to avoid what happened the 1st time, called in the order, was told it would be ready in 30-35 min. Arrived 30 min after calling, was told "15 more minutes, we're super backed up." 30 minutes later, asked for an update, it was clear the order was again lost and was told "at least 15 more minutes." First of all, it's just not a pleasant atmosphere inside. Probably best for takeout. On Saturday, there were two servers running the show and both were teenagers who just had no clue. We were brought water glasses but never any water. At one point both of them were leaning up against the wall looking at their cell phones. The food was hit and miss. We tried the Thai chicken wings and they weren't cooked. However, another special (Tuna Bomb) was excellent. The tuna and salmon sushi were tasteless and seemed old. The yellow tail was a bit better. I ordered a Beef Sizzling Teriyaki (without onions) and it came out on a chilled salad plate and it was undercooked and ice cold. My wife ordered the same thing and it was on a hot sizzling platter. The waitress was apologetic and I ordered a replacement Shrimp Sizzling Teriyaki. She once again brought me a chilled salad plate with severely overcooked shrimp. They managed to give me attitude whenever I asked about my order....then asked me to leave after an hour of waiting. Apparently i was wrong to be disturbed by the lack of professionalism at this restaurant. They were not managed and clearly children. I'm not sure what they want to project but their product and performance was a complete failure. Their food is great. The people are horrible.
