    Godzilla !
    Courtney C.

My boyfriend and I tried a new ramen spot on our little overnight . This location is very unassuming in a strip mall just outside of Newtown Square. I'm not even going to lie and say that the Godzilla definitely drew me in and was a main factor in me choosing this place. We both got the chicken wonton ramen which I don't think is that authentic but was really tasty and we wanted something a little more plain. It was super noodle dense and less broth focused than ramen I've had in the past. Everything was very tender and cooked well. It came with spinach and crispy onions - not a lot of toppings. I would have lied to try one of the more authentic ramens but alas that's what we chose. They also had bubble and milk teas I wish I had tried. My favorite was definitely the Karaage Chicken - it was perfectly seasoned and cooked and came with a great sauce on top. The inside is very cute a little tiny . There were two cooks and our waitress who was very nice. This seems like a regular spot for families as a lot were dining in while we were there. Definitely a good hit - maybe not the most authentic - but still delicious !

Service was fast and the building was nice and clean. Bang bang shrimp: 2/5 IMO very poorly done. It's just fried heavily battered shrimp and a sweet chili sauce that you can buy at the grocery store places on it. There is very little crispiness. 100% need some sort of breading or a lighter batter. Takoyaki: 4/5 pretty good and the first place to put an egg salad under the takoyaki. Unusual but it was good. Ramen (in general): 2/5 I wish I can say some positive things but it lacks the essence of ramen. The broth wasn't very flavorful. The marinated egg was also flavorless. The Chasu Pork was ok. Not the best but still had alright flavor. Overall 2/5 for the food, but 5/5 staffing and environment.

My godsister and I ordered two appetizers and two ramens for a quick lunch takeout. They were all good. Veggie ramen, 4.5/5: my sister ordered this one and really liked it. She added an extra egg and that extra piece was super complementary to the dish. She loved the broth, the texture, and the taste. Classic ramen 3/5: there was nothing extraordinary about this Tonkatsu ramen. At the same time, there's nothing bad for the price, it's not bad at all! Bang bang shrimp, 4.5/5: this was really good! The sweet sauce went really well the crunchy breading! Takoyaki 4/5: once again, really good app! The sauce and the flakes mixed really well! The dough and the squid had a good balance. $44ish for the four items post-tax.

Never thought I would come across a great ramen spot in a small town but Aoyama Ramen was there to do it. Service was good and food was good as well. Seaweed salad was tasty. Bothe the ramen we ordered had amazing broths. Tasty, not too salty and was smooth. All the toppings mixed well together. If you have a good spice tolerance I would suggest ordering the spicy ramen as it tasted great.

This local ramen restaurant is fairly large in size & brightly lite inside. It offers quick service that is also friendly. They have fairly extensive ramen menu & some interesting side options as well. Would have liked to see some vegetable apps and/or salad sides as well though as they are lacking. The food is well flavored & reasonably priced.

Pros - easy and ample parking - clean, spacious, and inviting interior - we got there early before they opened and they still seated us so we wouldn't have to wait out in the cold - food portions are great and so worth the price! - Aoyama spicy ramen was delicious..so flavorful and not too salty - offer bubble tea here as well! - check in on yelp and get 15% off your first visit! - Food came out quickly but also not all at the same time Cons - restroom does not have a diaper changer :(

Omg the chicken wonton ramen was DELICIOUS. So savory and balanced at the same time. I couldn't get enough of the chicken wontons, every bite was bursting with flavor. The brown sugar boba was pretty good, but the boba was just okay-- a little smaller and slightly firmer than I prefer. The service was wonderful, took about 15 min to get our food out, they brought it as it was ready. The ambiance is traditional and calming.

My husband and I had decided to give this place a try recently - he loves pho so we thought we'd see how it compared with ramen. I ordered the pork belly ramen and he ordered the steak version. They were pretty good but not as flavorful as we hoped and unfortunately we didn't see the selection of condiments over on the counter and weren't offered any, so we just ate it as is. We also had some potstickers and those were good and cooked perfectly, but could have used a sprinkling of some scallions like some other places do. Overall, it was just a so-so lunch for us, but we might give it a try again sometime if we're in the area.

The ramen itself at Aoyama hits the spot. You can find a good bowl of ramen here with ease. The broths are flavorful, the noodles have the right amount of bounce, and the char siu isn't bad either. The seasoned egg, however, was chalky and bland. This is something I usually really enjoy as part of a good bowl of ramen so it was particularly disappointing considering how easy it is to make. It is what it is.

Not the ramen that we were expecting. The broth was more reminiscent of Chinese flavors, and the ramen felt more like Chinese noodle soup rather than ramen. Tonkotsu Classic Ramen: Didn't taste like creamy, rich pork broth, instead it tasted garlicky. Aoyama Spicy: The broth was soy saucey and not very porky. The chashu wasn't very well seasoned, the main flavor was soy sauce. Additionally, the meat didn't melt in the mouth. My favorite part was the egg. They give a whole egg and it was well marinated!

This place had the best ramen!! I'd come back any day. My fiancé and I loved our experience. Staff were kind and food came out fairly quickly. I will recommend this place to anyone !!

Definitely been to more than a few ramen places in my life, and this place checked most of my expectations - namely, using the right egg noodles, which gives it the springy texture. There's a lot of places out there that will claim to serve ramen, only to use something else, like soba noodles... which is made of buckwheat, and has a totally different texture and taste. This joint reminded me of one of my favorite ramen haunts in Minato-ku, Tokyo when I used to live in Japan. Some extra toppings I wish Aoyama offered were naruto, menma, and cabbage. And if you're cool with eating octopus, you have to get the takoyaki! I've tried making them in the past, but they never turn out right. Aoyama has got it down pat though. Crispy batter on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside with a few pieces of tako. Just watch you tongue - it comes straight out of the griddle piping hot! It's not the most imaginative ramen, but it'll scratch my nostalgic craving for Japanese style ramen without having to venture into the city. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff were really kind and attentive (Thank you, Pauka! It was a pleasure meeting you). I really wish there were more wonderful ramen shops like this out here in the suburbs. Would be happy to go back again one of these days!

Recent visit after a while. Sadly, noticed some changes and lost a star. Broth tasted different than before - somewhat weaker and less Tonkotsu flavor. ...and amount got slightly less?, as I felt. Not sure why...but maybe this visit was rather later hours? Chashu Pork was much chewy and tougher than ever, and lot saltier...as if it was cooked differently. I understand a slight price hike as many other restaurants are doing; but did not expect changes of taste/flavor to unfavorable way.

The ones we had in Hawaii had a spicy kick at the end. These were comparably good. One flavor all around. No spicy after kick. The Kalua Pork and Cabbage was spicier than what we had at Hawaii. It actually tasted better. They added ginger and it was spicy. I liked the Taiwanese cabbage better than what we had in Hawaii, which was regular cabbage. The ribeye steak ramen was good as well. It makes me want to try the rib eye entree. I like the black pepper flavor. I took the steak out as soon as it served, so it would not cook anymore in the broth. I was impressed that they made it medium rare. The chicken broth was not too salty, which it can be in other places, so I was pleased that it wasn't. The menma bamboo was crunchy. Many places have it too soft. The black seaweed/wood ear like topping was also crunchy. The wavy ramen noodles were perfectly QQ or all dente. There were two doors to open at the entrance. Our server was very attentive. He also answered all my questions. I asked it they were Pulehu Ribs. When he did not know, he went to ask his colleague. I would come back for the same dishes, get a bigger order of the short ribs, and try the garlic shrimp. Definitely a new staple for us. Before going to Hawaii, we never had Hawaiian food before. This was a good way to revisit our vacation!
