    Pork Chashu Bowl

Came here for lunch and really liked it. Great sushi spot in the area! Service was friendly and quick. Portions are huge. We ordered a California roll for an app and regretted it because the bowls we got for our entrees were massive. I got the sashimi poke bowl. Sashimi was great and I loved the sauce in it. Husband got the pork chashu bowl and also loved it. Only wish we were able to finish!

Came in for a nice bowl of Ramen. The atmosphere is great and both the Ramen and Gyoza were excellent. Attentive staff and quick service.

Takoyaki was really good! Decor was adorable and the front of house was kept clean. Service was fast and my water was always filled. The sushi was large pieces and stuffed full. However didn't really enjoy the taste of the fish itself it's had an off after taste. I'd come back and try the ramen still, just not the sushi again. Visual everything was appeal spent $31 after tax and tip

So here's the deal we were just cruising the area, not really expecting much, and rolled up on Hakata around 8 PM, not knowing the kitchen closes at 9. We figured we'd get the usual end-of-night rush job. But NOPE this place? Total vibe. Vibe check? Passed. We were seated quickly, no side-eye for being last-minute stragglers, and the staff still brought that warm, welcoming energy. Now here's where they really earned my respect: the food didn't taste rushed. You know that "meh, they're just trying to close out" flavor some spots give late-night? Yeah, none of that here. The food came out hot, fresh, and seasoned to perfection. We sampled the goods: * Calamari? Crispy, not chewy. * Fried chicken? Juicy with the right crunch. * Pork buns? Soft, flavorful, and that sauce?? Yes, please. * Chicken potstickers? Solid. Could've eaten six more. * Chicken fried rice? A sleeper hit. Well-seasoned and portioned just right. Pricing? Not bad at all and for the portion sizes? Absolutely worth it. Parking? Open lot, easy breezy which is always a bonus. They didn't rush us, didn't make us feel like we were inconveniencing them, and they let people actually enjoy their meal. That alone makes me wanna come back. Final verdict: Hakata's got that late-night chill, full-flavor magic. I'll definitely be back, next time, maybe not so last minute. Or maybe exactly last minute, because they clearly handle it like pros.

This place is okay, the staff is nice. I specifically went there for the ramen, the pictures make it look so tasty. Sadly the ramen was extremely bland and lacked flavor. I also ordered the Kami salad which was surprisingly delicious even though it didn't look that way.

Haven't been to Hakata for a while. Although the potion has shrunk over the years, they generally manages to provide some decent food in this category. The health score is pretty good too--I tried to avoid places that score below 90.

    Hakata Beef Ramen. Yum!

The food and service at Hakata is absolutely wonderful. I visited for lunch one day and ordered the Hakata Beef Ramen, Pork Gyoza, and Takoyaki Octopus Ball. I enjoyed everything except the octopus ball (I wasn't a fan of the flavor and texture, but that's just my personal palate). Overall, I had a very positive experience & will definitely visit again.

    Spicy Miso

Arrived after 8p and the place was still busy - good sign. I got the Tonkotsu with the chasu- the spice level was ok - noodles a bit stiff, green onions were lonely. Mrs. U. got the Miso - the Ooo needed more mami - broth "was not very hot."- that will likely delay a return trip. The chicken was flour coated - chewy not crispy. Maybe they do better on the sushi.

Ordered two ramens, the Hakata Tonkatsu Black Ramen and Shaki Shiaki Ramen. Both had good flavor, but not spicy at all although it was labeled spicy. I also liked that there's an option to choose your noodle, I prefer thick udon noodles in my soups so I appreciate the option to swap out the ramen noodles. I also ordered the Spicy Cucumbers hoping it would be like the ones you get at Chinese restaurants but it wasn't. On me for sure, just want to warn you against getting it. Not worth $9 at all. Better off getting any other appetizer. Overall nice interior and good service. Menu was pretty large so lots of food options to choose from.

There menu has a lot of options as well as nicely sized portions. I had the Miso soup, and the Spicy Tuna on crispy rice and Shrimp Tempura Rolls. Both were very good options. The soup was larger than miso soups I have had elsewhere and I did feel like it filled me up before the rolls. The Spicy Tuna on crispy rice was my favorite. It was a nice mix of flavors with the right amount of spice. Everything came out quickly and the restaurant had a lot of setting with a very welcoming ambience. Great place for a quick, good lunch.

I have been here twice now for lunch. They do sushi very well here. I've gotten different rolls and salmon sushi. It is all very fresh and tasty. The other day I decided to finally try one of their chicken ramens and it was just okay. The broth was lacking flavor and just tasted like a diluted chicken broth. There were chunks of chicken in the ramen that were also tasty and just pieces of chicken breasts. The toppings were spinach and fried onions. Just kind of boring dish over all. I think it's a hit or miss depending on what you are ordering. My coworkers have all enjoyed their meals here.

We ordered the Samurai Ramen: Pork Broth.New York strip steak, bean sprouts, green onion, kikurage (wood ear mushrooms) & seasoned egg. It was phenomenal!! We also had the spring rolls, & my son had tiramisu for dessert (which I sampled). All were amazing! I can't wait to come back to try the sushi! We loved our experience here.

Busy place . Waitress not very good helping . Ask for soft shell crab she say no and walk away . So weird . Then I saw on the menu have soft crab bun . I ordered that and a spicy ramen . Flavor is not strong enough , more like catering to American taste bud . Ramen portion a bit small but meat quantity is good . Broth is ok mildly spicy . The soft shell crab are small and tasty .overall it's decent food .

Ramen broth tasted pretty bland tbh. Nothing horrible just really meh. Kids tried the sushi (Cali rolls) and they seemed to like it.

Ask the Community - Hakata Ramen

Has anyone tried Takeout ramen? How well does it "travel"?

I only live 5 minutes away from Hakata. I order from them all the time. They pack the noodles and other ingredients separate from the broth. You mix it together yourself at home. I think it is great.

Do they carry rice ramen noodles?

Not 100% if they have rice Ramen noodles, though I believe they have Pho, which uses rice noodles and I am sure they can use those noodles if you request them.

    Is this place byob?

Yes. Confirmed on Sunday Oct 21.

The ones we had in Hawaii had a spicy kick at the end. These were comparably good. One flavor all around. No spicy after kick. The Kalua Pork and Cabbage was spicier than what we had at Hawaii. It actually tasted better. They added ginger and it was spicy. I liked the Taiwanese cabbage better than what we had in Hawaii, which was regular cabbage. The ribeye steak ramen was good as well. It makes me want to try the rib eye entree. I like the black pepper flavor. I took the steak out as soon as it served, so it would not cook anymore in the broth. I was impressed that they made it medium rare. The chicken broth was not too salty, which it can be in other places, so I was pleased that it wasn't. The menma bamboo was crunchy. Many places have it too soft. The black seaweed/wood ear like topping was also crunchy. The wavy ramen noodles were perfectly QQ or all dente. There were two doors to open at the entrance. Handicap accessible. No steps. Two gender neutral restrooms. Spacious. Handicap accessible. We found street parking right out front. We came at 7 PM on a Monday after the dinner rush. Our server was very attentive. He also answered all my questions. I asked it they were Pulehu Ribs. When he did not know, he went to ask his colleague. I would come back for the same dishes, get a bigger order of the short ribs, and try the garlic shrimp. Definitely a new staple for us. Before going to Hawaii, we never had Hawaiian food before. This was a good way to revisit our vacation!

We started with a spepper squid appetizers. The batter was crispy, however, the squid was a bit chewy, bland and greasy. I'd not recommend.. The beef gyoza was cooked perfectly- pan seared and steamed. We ordered chicken curry and a sashimi deluxe . The curry was delicious. Vegetables were not soggy . Medium heat.
