Take away sushi from this establishment carried out surprisingly well. 15 minute drive and everything seemed to be the appropriate temperature. No excessive moisture, things remain their appropriate texture. Everything was bagged up very well. You're greeted by the restaurant staff immediately by pretty kind people. The spicy tuna roll was standard and pretty good. The soft shell crab had an interesting taste that was semi-fishy. The breading was good but the crab left a lot to desire. The rock shrimp was nice and crispy and the spicy aioli dipping sauce paired well with it. The hamachi jaw was cooked well but lacked a lot of flavor. The yuzu / ponzu sauce helped provide extra flavor. Overall I surprisingly think the regular sushi (nigiri, rolls, and sashimi) is your best bet here for takeout at least for shorter trips. This was my first suburban sushi experience. It was definitely above average. Trumps any of the 1/2 price sushi in northeast Philly, but doesnt quite hold up to center city sushi, such as Tuna Bar. The menu had a nice variety and service was attentive. We had both raw and cooked rolls. I enjoyed my raw rolls, but for the price was not totally blown away. The presentation was nice and the fish was fresh, I just think prices were a bit steep for what you get. read more

Yeah, I'm sorry I'm only three stars on this place... based on quality and value. The ahi tower was really the worst I've ever had. Not that it was bad, just that I've always had much better. Also, when I looked at the small portion and thought that I could have purchased a large poke bowl for the same price I thought I should make better decisions in the future. Same with the Rainbow roll. But the Rock Shrimp, which is fried shrimp with yuzu aioli, was amazing. I'd recommend everyone try this menu item. My friends and I wanted to have a relaxing Friendsgiving with a wide variety of foods, so we decided to order sushi. I ignored the fact that a few weeks back my father felt sick after eating at Sushi Nami, and instead convinced myself that nothing would happen to me. Silly me. I ate the sushi and was bed ridden the next day, eating a diet consisting of merely saltines and a single pretzel - before I felt too sick again and retreated to water. Went here New Year's Eve, 2022, on my way into the city. My family had ordered from here many times, but we had never gone. First of all, the brown sugar bubble tea was good, but then the chicken hit the table. It was so quick, too! The chicken katsu was really good, and the sushi was great, too. Sushi Nami has been around for a very long time. We had been to the one on Paoli years ago. I moved away for a while but my family still frequents sushi nami (cousins aunts uncles etc. lots of people). They all love it. I couldn't remember much but they have one in wayne now (my hometown) so I decided to pickup Sunday night after a family party before driving back home to center city phila. I got the fire dragon roll, spicy tuna roll, chicken fried rice, and the pork gyoza. I will say it wasn't AS good as my spot st home in center city phila. Maybe I'm just too used to them! But it was really good and well prepared. Tasted fresh to me. The spicy tuna was my fave roll. Weirdly enough given it's just a classic little roll. I was comparing the fire dragon roll to the one I get at home in philly as they were nearly the same thing. So hard to say. But tuna was good and they were fat. Good portions here which is super important. Anyway, We LOVED the gyoza.... Some of the best I've had for sure. And for $4.50 you can't beat it! Yum! And I'm obsessed with the dipping sauce with the gyoza. I saved my leftover sauce to eat with my Trader Joe's gyoza later on. Now what we weren't thrilled about is the chicken fried rice. Rice was good. But the chicken has like some teriyaki type sauce to it? Really not normal for chicken fried rice. Normally ya just get regular grilled or cooked chicken. Not teriyaki chicken? Idk what it was. But it was off putting and weird to me. Otherwise everything was great. Service was fantastic and restaurant looked nice inside. I am Interested in dining in one day. It's located in a shopping center, that you'll miss if you aren't looking for it. It's a small BYOB (yay!). The decor is simple. The service was great, they were very friendly and attentive. Sushi Nami has fresh sushi, made to order that is delicious and reasonably priced. If the family wants an outing then we go eat in the restaurant and BYOB! The Hand Rolls and Chef's Special Rolls are always the highlight of the evening. We also regularly order party trays, #2 is our favorite, to either eat at home w/ company or to take to friends. Yummy local sushi in the Wayne area just down the road from me. I have only had sushi at one other restaurant close to my neighborhood and I was not overly happy with that option. So when my husband and I discovered Sushi Nami was close we decided that would be the perfect spot to start our anniversary weekend. And BONUS they are a BYOB. We kept it to a fairly easy line up. A few typical/usual rolls, 1 special roll, and I very delicious appetizer that was on the specials' board. Our starter was grilled squid drizzled with a very nice sweet sauce. Very nice portion for two people to share and was not overly chewy including the legs. We ordered our basic go-to rolls of avocado, Philadelphia, and the California. They were very accommodating allowing us to have raw salmon in our Philly roll instead of smoked. For our special roll we ordered the Black Angel Roll. That roll consists of pepper tuna & cucumber inside, eel, avocado & smoked salmon on top with crunch, fish roe, and wasabi mayo. I enjoyed this roll very much and would recommend if you are in the mood to spend money on a $14 roll. We were pleased with all of our roll quantities and how big the portion of fish was within each roll. I am surprised they are considered a $$$ establishment instead of $$. Their prices are as expected but I guess if you ordered enough $14 rolls it would hit the $$$ ranking. We will definitely go back. read more

Best sushi/sashimi in the area. Typically fresh fish but the wait for takeout on weekends are abominable. Last Saturday we placed an order at 5 and was told it would be 45 mins-1 hour and it took about 2 hours. But where else are you going to go, the city? We typically order the mainline roll and spicy tuna. I've gotten the chicken teriyaki for the kids and admit that it's pretty good. Ordered the fatty tuna roll and you could tell it was not fresh. This is a great spot for the family - we often get takeaway but decided to eat in last night. Sadly, they were out of a couple of specials that sounded very tasty (oysters and live scallop)! Last night was a little off from my usual expectations - the sushi/sashimi was good, but didn't "pop" like it sometimes does. The japanese uni was very good, but I was a little disappointed that they no longer stock quail eggs, as I like that with my ikura sushi. This restaurant could be one of our favorites as the food can be very good and it should be as the prices at this restaurant are high. My problem is the inconsistency. My husband loves fried rice and the first time he ordered it, it was perfect with lots of veggies and meat. You expect this at almost $20. Lately the fried rice is just rice and meat with almost no veggies.......what a disappointment and oh so boring and overpriced. There is no reason to come back for this....from exceptional to boring...we know you have the ability because you did it before. Is it going to kill you to put some veggies in your fried rice. I like their soup with two pork medallions and noodle and an egg. This soup was excellent a few timeswith nice Asian veggies added to it. While also expensive at$17 , I was willing to pay this quite often because it was a complete meal and very good. The last 3-4 times there have been very few veggies at all in the soup. When I asked the wait staff about this was told they use what they have that day. I also noticed in addition to few veggies, there is to much broth and not enough noodles either. I gave this restaurant a 2 star instead of a 1 star with hopes that they will up their game and be a great place to eat again. They sure could use the business as they are never very busy. Ambiance is pretty low key which is great for a casual date night. All of the fish tasted fresh and service was good. You can definitely tell this is a popular spot as there seemed to be no less than 10 people at a time waiting for take out. I have been so tired of the same old crap in terms of being served yesterdays "fresh fish" paying the same prices and feel like I'm wasting my time and money because the value just wasn't there. This place is a lot better and it is not even close. The dishes are in a higher place, so much that I ordered 2 main courses back to back, which I had never done before, it was that good. Think Morimoto without the atmosphere. Honestly, I will never go to a different Japanese restaurant on the mainline again, not as long this place is serving super fresh meals. Wayne is needed a sushi place for a little while now. Sushi Nami was for sure a welcome addition. I found the atmosphere and menu to be fairly basic. No real wow factor here but that said it is nice to have predictable basic Japanese food available at a great location. I only went for lunch and they are relatively new so I'm hoping that they will expand the specialty roll choices and add a few more interesting items when they get a little more settled. I will likely visit this location a lot because of convenience and happy to expand my review and update as they get more settled. read more

Still would only recommend the Chirashi and Yellowtail jalopenos. The waitress recommended the baby Yellowtail for next time so I may try it. Picked up a bunch of sushi and when we got home, there was no wasabi or ginger in the containers. In my view, this is like forgetting to put the rice in the rolls. Then when we started eating, all of the rolls were so loose they fell apart on the plate and in the chop sticks. A small, quiet restaurant located in a small strip mall right off Lancaster Ave. My sushi was very good. It's not my favorite sushi in PA. There are other very good options 15-20 minutes away in either direction. However, I think this is the best in this area! My friend and I had a couple sushi rolls, and two salads to start off as well. The seaweed and seafood salads were a very nice portion, and were delicious. I actually don't remember the sushi rolls that we had, but they were fresh and yummy as well. I debated knocking down to 3 stars, due to the service. Our waiter wasn't terrible, but had zero personality, and also messed up our order twice. It didn't ruin the meal, as we were there to have a nice conversation, no rush, and he was able to slowly fix the situation. I definitely enjoyed my dinner there, and would go back if I was in Wayne and needed sushi. But I would not drive out of my way to come back here. read more

We were in town for three days and got this sushi TWICE. If that doesn't explain the quality of this restaurant, I don't know what does. Highlights: SO many vegetarian options. This is the most expansive and creative menu of vegetarian sushi. Not to mention it was INCREDIBLE tasting. We ended up getting more rolls the second time, just to try them all! Secondly, the service is sooo quick. We ordered online both times and it was ready within 15 minutes. They are also open late and very accommodating. We got arrived in town around 9:30 and found most places denying us food service, because the kitchen was closed. Not this place; 20 minutes before closing and they had no issue taking our order. Try the asparagus or sweet potato tempura or the peanut avocado and you won't be disappointed. I would drive for 3 hours back to experience this sushi any day! read more

I absolutely love that this place came on doordash! The packaging is always so pretty and well prepared and you can see the care that was put to arranging the sushi. This is my third time ordering from them and it has gotten better every time. Before, I would have to drive to Sushi Land in Bryn Mawr for my sushi fix, but since discovering Nami Sushi, I haven't been back (sorry Sushi Land)! This is a no frills, reasonably priced restaurant that still offers a great variety of both sushi and cooked foods. I've only ever ordered takeout, but the wait time has never been more than 25 mins (usually around 15). For something a little different, I recommend ordering any of the sushi with mango listed in the ingredients - it adds the slightest sweet burst of flavor! If you're looking for some solid sushi without the Main Line prices, this is the place to be. read more

I have been a big fan of Sushi Nami's Paoli location for lunches (and the occasional dinner) for a while so I was eager to try the Wayne Location on Route 30 not far from my office. Yumi was there (she is usually in Paoli) and the place is new - but has the exact same menu. Lunch specials are still there and still great at $14.00 for the salmon lunch. The pork dumpling soup is a great winter treat - hot and fresh with 3 pork gyoza and a bunch of veggies. Love it here. Will be back! read more

Roll - 5 out of 5 One of my favorite rolls of all time. Lobster salad, mango, avocado, and cucumber work together beautifully to create a unique and delicious combination. Sushi Pizza - 5 out of 5 Crispy scallion pancake is topped with seaweed salad, big chunks of melt-in-your-mouth tuna are generously portioned on top and garnished with drizzles of spicy mayo and wasabi mayo. Hamachi Kama - 3 out of 5 This appetizer consists of grilled yellowtail collar served with a simple tangy ponzu. The fish is always so flaky and ethereal. It's mild and every bite is a "good bite." The only reason I docked two stars was because they sometimes over-cook the outside to a char - not the delicacy in preparation one would expect from a Japanese chef. Service is hit or miss. Last time, we had the chef wait on us and he was fantastic and attentive. We were particularly impressed how he effortlessly transitioned from the kitchen "back of the house" to the service-oriented "front." This gem of a restaurant will surely thrive. read more
