Stopped in here while in the area for a quick lunch. I found parking pretty easily towards the back of their lot. They weren't very busy so I sat up at the bar. They had a lot of staff which was nice to see and everyone seemed pleasant. I ordered a special Two XL eggs, hot sausage and home fries with rye toast for $10 and change. They had some nice railroad decorations on the wall that were cool. When my food came out the home fries were almost warm, the hot sausage was a little tough and the toast was barely toasted and didn't seem fresh. The eggs were great. I liked the inside and the staff seemed nice, but the kitchen didn't deliver a simple plate of food very well. They have some pretty cool menu items, so maybe I'll give them another try if in the area. read more

I don't usually post about restaurants because I know it is a rough business. But today I had a really sour taste in my mouth after leaving the Coffee Station in Morton today. I understand that gluten free products cost more than a lot of regular products that are not gluten free. But the fact that they charge $4.50 for a single bagel is a little ridiculous and is definitely price gouging. I know because my granddaughter has celiacs disease and we have been dealing with it for a while. So if you were to buy a bag of gf bagels at the store they would probably be around $6-7, depending on where you go and you would get four(4) bagels. So at their pricing the same bagels would run around $18. I don't begrudge someone a little profit but that is ridiculous. Any other place that we have gone the extra charge for gf is usually $2 for a bun or bread. When I approached the owner and said something he said they are very expensive and I said I know how much they cost and they aren't that expensive. He proceeded to say that he didn't even want to sell them at all and that I didn't have to buy it if that was an issue. That is when I said that I don't have a choice my granddaughter has celiacs and he said , "oh well" , and walked away. Well my granddaughter heard the conversation, mind you she is ten years old, and was very hurt. For someone who owns a small business in the area I was astonished at his callousness. I thanked the waitress for serving us, gave her her tip, and told her that we would not be returning to this place again. The waitress was very cordial and said she understood and wished us well. I guess these places that feel they're established and have a regular clientele can just tell people that aren't regulars to go f**k off. Customer service is definitely not what it used to be and the fact that he hurt my granddaughter's feelings just pissed me off more so. We had just gotten in town, 8/8/24, for a wedding/reception this weekend. My son's wife is from the area and picked the place for us to finally get some breakfast and coffee. I'm a benedict fan and almost always get it if it's offered. The benedict was good, but the hollandaise was very lemony compared to what I'm used to. My son decided we would try the scrapple fries. We were pleasantly surprised at how good they were. Other members in our group got omletts, and they said they were great. My only issue was that it was extremely difficult to get a coffee refill. I had finished my breakfast before I ever got more coffee. Overall, I would highly recommend you check out this gem of a place. read more

I am addicted to their sausage, egg, and cheese on kaiser roll. The first time I had it, it ruined my shirt because I didn't know the egg was fried over easy. I didn't even care. It was so good. The kaiser roll was so soft and the combination of the egg yolk and cheese made it hard to put this sandwich down. I normally eat half and save the rest for later. Well, I ended up eating the whole damn thing. Today was the first time I tried their home fries and they were made just the way I like them. They give you plenty too. Finally got to try this wonderful spot after walking in thinking it was a donut shop several weeks ago. We had the time to sit down and have a blast and couldn't have been happier. Everything we ordered was wonderful and made on premises, and oh so tasty! The potatoes and scrapple fries are out of control good. You would be making a mistake not coming here for your next breakfast, brunch, or lunch. However, on top of the amazing food, our server, Patty, made our whole experience even better. So I've been here enough times to really know what this place is all about. And I wrote a previous review here. But I decided to start over and review them all over again. Why would I do this? Well, first off I'm not sure I really had my pulse on what is happening with this place before for whatever reason. But after reading other experiences from other recent reviewers here, and observing the Coffee Station in action today, I think I have a better handle on how to properly review them. It's clear to me that this place is a place that really used to be good. I've been a fan for years. But for whatever reason, they're becoming very average. Now, a couple of things I really do like about this place. I always loved the memorabilia on the wall. I'm a memorabilia collector and I appreciate this aspect. I'm certain my wife notices that whenever we come in here, I just keep staring around at the walls. I think she's gotten used to it by now. There are certain things I like about the menu. I'm still a fan of the Morton Monster. Now granted, I saw a previous review that said it wasn't that big anymore. I'll say that the one I had today was indeed big. I'm guessing there's some inconsistency here among the cooks. I'll even put up the picture of the one I had today so you can see for yourself. I was good with this. But we noticed some things today about the food that now raise the "they're slipping in quality" concern. First off, the coffee... very weak today. Disappointingly weak. I'm sorry... if the word "Coffee" is in your name, I expect better. If you get the same type of coffee that you can get at an average diner, I actually consider this inexcusable. This would be like Charlie's Hamburgers suddenly serving Bubba Burgers. You know, at the more cramped but much more homey atmosphere in their old location, they used to offer much more in the way of coffee, such as a flavored option or two. No more. That's unfortunate to me. It's something special they had before that they lost when they moved to this more homogenized location. (The fact that I think this place lost some of its soul when it moved to the new location, although I'm sure it was necessary for crowds, is another aspect entirely.) The pancakes my wife had seemed good, but the bacon she was given were two shriveled slices. Again, they can do better here. I also had a short stack of their French Toast. I've been trying a lot of local French Toast lately. It's a favorite of mine. Their local competition puts out some good French Toast. These slices... average at best. Let's just say the syrup had to save them to be tasty. And the service... I've seen the reviews about the waitresses who ignore you and give you a bit of attitude (and I'm pretty sure I could tell you which ones they are). I'm not as concerned if a waitress didn't say hello properly, or whatever. 80% of the time they seem nice enough, and I've never had any egregious mistreatment here at all. But I will say this... whatever system they have of serving here reeks of an inconsistent and possibly broken process. If you don't believe me, try to sit here and get a waitress to get you a second cup of coffee at noon on a Sunday when they seem to be much busier doing other things than taking care of their tables after the food comes. I swear it took us 5 minutes. I was this close to getting up and going behind the counter myself. Now really, I don't criticize places to be mean. In fact, I'm saying this because I believe in the end this place can do better. It has done better in the past. I want a place like this to succeed. I want local Delco places to thrive. But I'm starting to get the feeling that ownership of this fine establishment is a little too concerned with the appearances of his bobblehead collection, and for some reason not seeing the fact that his product is slipping. With competition just a couple of minutes away getting much bigger crowds for their breakfast service and turning them over with clockwork efficiency and better food, you have to tighten some screws to keep up. Can't rest on your laurels forever. I'm keeping them at three stars because they are generally OK, and the definition of three stars is A-OK. That, and I still can get a half-decent breakfast sandwich here. But that's what they're becoming... just OK in an area where the competition is raising the bar for breakfast. read more

This place is your average breakfast spot, Nothing really special but it did the trick it fed our hunger. Ordered scrambled eggs bacon and toast. I felt like the eggs were from a carton as they just looked to perfect on my plate. Service was very quick and the waitress was very attentive. They do accept plastic which according to past reviews they did not so this must be a recent upgrade. I will say the room was very bright and clean. Apartment hunting in a new city is a great place to discover local eateries. That's how I found The Coffee Station. It was late morning in the middle of the week, I was hungry and they had parking. So my first experience with SCRAPPLE was here. Interesting. As I was the only customer, the ladies were very attentive and told me all about it. I almost wish they hadn't, but I ordered it anyway. Hmm, not a fan, but overall the breakfast was pretty good. Returned with the boyfriend unit for breakfast on a Saturday morning, and this was a totally different experience. The place was packed and the 'vault' was the only place with available seating so we went for it. Might be fun. It was until it got stifling warm as there is no air circulating in there. Well, although we were immediately seated it took about 30 minutes for someone to come take our order, which was disappointing. Even though I have to point out they are very nice and friendly, but I was very hungry. Don't mess with my food. Breakfast came and it was good. Again the service was slow. We never got a refill on the coffee and it took forever to get our check. So sad to say, I haven't gone back. A shame since my first experience was pretty cool, scrapple and all. read more

This place was packed, it was a Sunday morning....parking is fun. They certainly can use more. Bright and cheerful... Reminded me of breakfast joints at the beach.... Anyways...service was great...seated quickly...coffee even quicker...lol... Menu has much to choose from. ... They have any and all breakfast foods. Sandwiches for lunch and into the afternoon hours too. My friend had an omelet with fresh vegetables, home fries hmm had a fork-ful or two...had to taste them.. yum.. I chose the stuffed French toast It sounded different, hadn't seen that anywhere ..its French toast stuffed with cream cheese...and powdered sugar...and we also had a side of scrapple...... There's always something to look at theres memorabilia all over the place... You can sit at the counter too..diner like ...unusual for this location and area...but nice to see there doing sooo well. I came here on a Sunday morning with my parents. It's usually pretty packed so I wanted to try their breakfast. My parents ordered their omelette and I ordered the steak and eggs. We all agreed, the potatoes weren't that great. It came to us pretty cold and lacking in flavor. I asked for a medium steak and it was very much well done - so well done that the ends were burnt. I pass The Coffee Station everyday on my way to work and always think how I need to try it. Well, today we did! After a night full of partying we needed some early breakfast to wake up so we headed over around 7:30 am. My husband had Johns Big Breakfast and I had the egg, home fries and toast meal...the name escapes me right now. Both were pretty good, my husband made a comment that their pancakes were better than most breakfast spots in the area. I thought the home fries left a little to be desired and needed salt but they weren't terrible. My over-easy eggs were perfect. I didn't realize how cool this place was on the inside either, there were a ton of tables and lots of pictures all over the walls. My husband loves the eagles memorabilia everywhere. The place has really gone downhill the last couple of years since they moved to the bigger location. The food is average breakfast food. The coffee is good. But last visit I was presented with burnt toast and the waitress asked me if it was ok or did I want another order? Well yes of course I would like toast. Keep the blackend for steaks, ya know? This toast should have never hit the plate let alone left the kitchen. Waitress was watching tv and never came to check. The place which was good when it was next to the train tracks years ago seems now to be un-managed. Thats why at 8am on a weekday and across from the train station packed with commuters they had only a total of 4 customers in a place that easily seats 50. I was really excited to try this place since they aren't many great breakfast places close to me. However the treatment I received was horrible. I was dining alone was sat immediately upon arrival and given a 1 regular menu and 1 specials menu. Maybe 5 minutes after I was seated a family of 3 was sat right next to me. The waitress comes and greets the family (by their conversation I could tell they were regulars) no biggie... She takes their drink orders and walk away. She returns a few minutes later with their drinks & takes their food order. Checks on the table in back of them refill that tables coffee THEN comes to ask my drink order. She walks away & returns shortly with my drink. She checks on another table and cashes someone out at the register. At this point it's been TEN minutes & I still haven't been asked my food order. The family of 3 being to receive their food so I go to the front to ask if there's a specific reason a party of 3 that was seated AFTER me is receiving their meal & my order has yet to be taken. The hostess says something to another waitress who gives her apologies & says she can take my order. I ask if there's a reason why my order has not been taken. She says "we're just really busy" I ask how is my waitress busy when she took the family's order prior to mine. They call my waitress over and question her and she responds with "she didn't order" I said because you never asked my order. She says "well you had 2 menus I thought you were waiting on someone" 1) that could have been avoided had you asked if I were waiting for someone 2) I had the same 2 menus that everyone else in the restaurant had 3) why did you only take 1 drink order if you thought I was waiting on someone? I sat back down and placed my order however I left the establishment without eating because I didn't not feel comfortable taking the food after that encounter. Whenever we passed by the Coffee Station, the parking lot is always packed. So one day, we finally decided to come try it. We tried the Eggs Benedict Special and the Wiffle Waffle. The eggs benedict came with home fries that were cold and had no flavor. We asked for different home fries and the server brought warmer ones, but they lacked seasoning and crispiness. The breakfast is average, quite similar to Nifty Fifty's breakfast. That being said, this place has a HUGE following in Delco. You know those annoying "OBX" black and white, oval stickers you see on cars everywhere? There are CS (Coffee Station, duh) stickers are cars all over Delco. I even see them in Philly! The place certainly knows how to brand itself. In all honesty, I never felt the food was worth the hype. My friend's brother works there and I still don't go. I used to really enjoy this place when I was younger because the food and the atmosphere was great. The atmosphere hasn't changed but unfortunately the food has. Everything has that same unkept griddle taste to it, the ham tastes like the sausage which tastes like the bacon which tastes like grease left on too long. The "Morton Monster" which is their sandwitch has reduced in size so much that there's nothing "monsterous" about it... and it as well tastes like unkept griddle. I'm not sure if it's due to the times where everybody has to buy cheaper goods or the the underagers they have working the grill that just don't maintain it, but the times of me raving about how great The Coffee Station are have become a thing of the past. read more

The Coffee Station is a great little place. I often go with my Dad on weekend mornings and enjoy the breakfasts. The food is inexpensive and well made. It's typical breakfasts and sandwiches, but there's generally a good portion. Try John's Big Breakfast if you're really hungry. Be warned, though, lunch type foods are generally not served on Sundays, and usually not before 11ish on other days. read more

I've been here many times, dozens, so why haven't I written a review? This place is good, really good. And very reliable. I've never had a bad experience here. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. The food is good. It's breakfast. Nothing is outstanding or memorable, but if you are looking for a good reliable place for breakfast, at a price that is a good value, this is that place. The atmosphere is actually pretty cool. Look around, there are many interesting unique things to see. As I said, I've been here many times, with family and friends, and and it's a comfortable place for conversation. I've never felt rushed. I can sit, and finish my coffee without having someone hovering over me to turnover the table. Someone will frequently stop by to refill my coffee. I like that. So, five stars? Yes, five stars. In a society that values the hot, the trendy, the unique, places like this get overlooked. And that's tragic. Sure, you can't get a egg white lobster and asparagus omelet with hollandaise sauce and artisan toast, but you can get a really good substantial breakfast served by friendly efficient staff in a pleasant interesting atmosphere. And you get it, reliably, every time. That's sure as hell worth five stars, and shame on me for not getting to this review sooner. Good breakfast food, not enough potatoes ever though. All three times my potatoes have only been a handful. Unfortunately the service from out waitress "patti" was such a disgrace. She took our order and never came back except to drop us our check. My water and coffee sat empty since 5 minutes after being seated. Our food was delivered by someone else and that person didn't even offer to refill our drinks, probably because she wasn't responsible for our table. Best of yet where was Patti? We've been here a few times in the past year or so. I never ate at the old location - it didn't draw me in. This place is fresher and cleaner than lot of places especially considering all of the kitschy stuff all over the dining area. The place is large enough but parking is limited considering the number of seats. The food is nothing to write home about. On this visit, I got what I usually get - two eggs over easy with home fries and toast. This time I ordered a side of bacon. The yolks were not over cooked but the whites were brown, (griddle too hot). I got 4 slices of bacon but they needed to be blotted from the grease. The potatoes are flavorless - they have definitely lost their salt and pepper shakers in the back (every time I come here that has been my home fries experience). My significant other ordered the eggs Benedict special. The English muffin was not toasted and the hollandaise sauce had started to break - not appealing. The coffee was good and fresh and we got a refill. I have similar feelings with regard to service here. It's often not friendly and you don't feel like they are there to serve you.
