    Overcooked and watery pasta

Very big luxurious portions but pasta was overcooked and watery. Reasonable prices and service good

Two fresh eggs with Bacon and rye roasted and a side of hash browns - basic, simple and was just fine.

Not the greatest diner in the world, but by far not even close to the worst! I recently stopped by for lunch. Plenty of parking can be found on their private lot. There was plenty of seating available and my server was nice. My order was simple two eggs, bacon and potatoes with rye toast. The menu was huge and I was tempted to go with one of their "porker" sandwiches, but it seemed like too much food, so maybe on another visit. I think the menu is the key here, it's massive on all fronts: the breakfast side, sandwich, salad and entrees. Whether the quantity matches the quality is the big question, but you could literally eat something different for a couple of months straight! While I was waiting for my food I took a look around. The inside looks like it was updated in the last ten or so years, but they have or had some ceiling leaks. Gotta replace those tiles guys! Other than that everything seemed to be pretty typical of a diner. They have a small bar seating area when you come in, a small dining area against the front window and then a main dining area consisting of booths and tables. They had a TV in the main dining area with the news at noon on. Food came out pretty quick and everything was just fine. They gave a generous portion of bacon. I'd return if I'm in the area.

Appetizers, soups, salad, complete sandwiches menu

I really appreciated the super sweet and attentive server #53. Very clean and pleasant diner. My food was filling and hit the spot. It was a welcome respite after driving through Philly streets.

Coming here for 5 years and for some reason I checked the reviews for Stargate today. I was surprised that I saw a couple of Negative reviews. Come on people this is a suburban Diner not a five star Philly dining destination. It should be reviewed like a hometown diner. Consistently, the service is good, the place is clean and the food is good. I would also add that there is plenty of offstreet parking and as it's conveniently located on Chester Pike, just a stone's throw away from interstate 95, It's a good place to try if you're just looking for some casual food at very reasonable prices in a pleasant atmosphere. For commuters it is literally down the steps from the train station Today's meal: The BB (Baltimore Beau) had a Fried flounder sandwich and absolutely loved it. He said that the flounder was very fresh and the breading was light. I who am not a fan of fried or breaded food wasn't convinced unless I took a taste. I did and I agreed with him that it tasted very fresh. I had the Santa Fe salad. I was given the option to have it delivered as made or to have it chopped. I am so glad I picked the chopped option. My deep dish of salad greens was chopped in such a fashion that they were nicely bite-size and the Santa Fe seasoned chicken on top was plentiful. I ate a third of it and when full I brought leftovers home. At Stargate you'll be assured that portion sizes are generous. As for staff it always seems to be staffed by somebody in charge and it shows. The wait staff are pleasant, quick and accurate in delivery of items ordered. The boyfriend remarked that the place looked like it had recently been redone but I told him that it's been a few years and that it probably looks so good because they keep it so clean. Seating is also very comfortable. If you're in the middle of Delaware County and looking for a place to eat in a casual, relaxed atmosphere Stargate fits the bill

closest - biscuit with sausage gravy & hash, French toast, eggs + scrapple, side of hash & side of bacon

We have not been here since 2020 & this was our first time back since. If anyone is lazy & wants breakfast locally, I would suggest coming here to Stargate Diner. My husband ordered French toast, eggs over easy, scrapple with a side of hash & bacon. The French toast were nice crispy thick slices. Bacon was also nice & crispy. I could not help myself. I had to steal a slice of French toast, it was eyeing me the whole time. I ordered the biscuit sausage & gravy with hash. Biscuit was moist & the gravy was creamy. I could not finish my dish, husband had to help. We were satisfied, will for sure be back regularly.

    Very nice seating area!

I had an amazing western omelette with home fries and rye toast. I also had a hot chocolate that was very sweet but delicious!! This is my favorite local diner!

Nice quaint 24hr diner in the Ridley Park area. Service was quick and friendly, food was hot, and prices were reasonable.

The following conversation is common all across the Swarthmore campus: "Hey wanna go to dinner?" "Where? Sharples? What is it tonight?" "Pasta bar and dry chicken." "Ew, again? That's the fourth time this week. Want to go to bamboo, the place with average asian food but literally the only restaurant in a five mile radius?" "No, I can't. I ran out of points on the low-points plan that swarthmore forces its freshman to be on." "Aw, shit. Guess we have to go to sharples then." "Hey, it's not too bad. There's meatballs." "Oh, nice. I'm mildly not as disappointed." If it's not dealing with the absurdly crowded cafeteria during the lunch hour and waiting literally twenty minutes for mediocre food, then it's dealing with the angry ice cream lady that constantly screams at you for no reason. (Like, what's up with that? Seriously. She yelled at me for trying to put ice cream on a waffle.) The pizza is mediocre. The jambalaya is completely bland. The grill is okay but always busy during bad food days. During actual good food days, like fish tacos, my god, good luck getting food. For some reason, they sequester everyone into one fucking line. I've seen the line stretch like thirty feet beyond where you get trays. Furthermore, the line moves slow, so you could be standing there waiting for actually half an hour. Don't even mention the "pho" bar. My god, I don't think I've ever seen a dish butchered that badly. The broth is BITTER. BITTER! Why is it bitter??? One more point: the tables are... sticky? I don't know how else to describe it. The table surfaces are weirdly sticky and not smooth. It's as if they don't clean the tables every day and just let everything dry out and condense, forming a thin sticky defensive layer for the table. Swarthmore efficiency and design thinking at its finest. In conclusion, it's kinda mediocre but sometimes it manages to reach average.

LIVERWURST special; can't miss those words on the special sign ewww ... must be Pennsylvania However the pleasant din of diners engaged in breakfast conversation reveal that you have found a winner! The breakfast menu offers options that would leave even the pickiest diner with a choice they'd make. As for me ... I had to ask 'is the corned beef hash made in the kitchen or canned? ' My 'to the point' classic diner waitress said 'of course we make it. ' We will see ... Ok, so it wasn't the best corned beef hash I have sampled, which is what cost the diner the one star. But, everything else was perfect!! The coffee was always there for a refill and the folks who were working at the diner seemed to be happy in their work. ** Before I could post the above review I decided to return for another breakfast with a friend. Absolutely wowed again!! The options were so impressive and the middle of the week specials bonuses!! But still ... that corned beef hash issue. Order anything else and you will be very very happy!! I know I will be crossing the Delaware in the future to again enjoy a really good breakfast at the Infinite!!

This was a really great spot. My coworker and I were over in North Jersey for work but flew in and out of PHL rather than facing Newark. In order to beat the crazy construction traffic outside of Philly and to have a buffer for whatever TSA nightmare we were going to face, we got back near the airport early... like 4 1/2 hours before our flight kind of early. I wanted breakfast outside of the airport so I found this spot while he was refilling the rental car. I got the French toast with homefries. The french toast was perfect, with just a tiny bit of crisp in spot from the griddle. Same with the homefries. I would have liked a bit more seasoning while they were cooking, but a bit of salt and pepper and I was good to go. My coworker got the big breakfast but subbed out the homefries for corned beef hash. While I'm not a fan of corned beef hash, it looked exactly like how my mom and grandfather like it, with a little bit of crisp to it. The pancake was huge and he said his over medium eggs were cooked exactly like he hoped they would be. Now I just need to plan out my flights so I can come get breakfast here again and try one of the sandwiches, or omelettes, or maybe get French toast again...
