The food deserves the 5 stars. It was terrific We expected a sit down. There are tables , many , and staff was very pleasant , however you order through scanning code or at the food counter We did use the menu. I had the shrimp burrito, my husband the chicken mole, one friend chicken and another the fish taco. We agreed it was some of the best Mexican we have had recently. It was not crowded. I hope more people try it. read more

Good burrito but about the size of my hand for 14$. Not worth price at all. Go down the street to La rancherita for a way bigger better one

Staff was friendly and pleasant. We got a variety of things to try. Ate outside and people watched. Friends loved their pics, mine was ok. If try again because they had a lot to choose from. Other reviews are good so I'll try it again. read more

Taco Mar - (3) Birria Taco - Tacos Near Me - West Chester, Pennsylvania

First time at Taco Mar even though it's been recommended many times. Not disappointed! The staff greeted us and told us how their ordering worked. We found a table, ordered and paid for our lunch on the phone and the food was out in no time. We ordered chips, 3 salsas and queso, Birria tacos and enchiladas. Everything was hot and delicious. I could be wrong but the only thing I missed was the Birria tacos being dinked in the consomé and fried on the plancha. When I've had it before it was crispy, cheesy and fried. In any case, it was still delicious! read more

I recently move to PA from Los Angeles and am a CA native. When I say this food is LEGIT, I mean LEGIT! I'm also half Mexican and can confirm their food is authentic- I was raised on this food so I can tell the difference! We went here thinking they had taco Tuesdays (my only negative comment is that they didn't ) but stayed anyway bc it had been nearly 4 months since I had legit Mexican food. They completely exceeded my expectations! The tostadas with chicken tinga were delicioso, the taquitos were spot on and the beans were better than my family's. It's difficult to get great tasting and authentic MX food on the east coast bc of the rich Latin cultures that influence hispanic cuisine, but not here! They knew the assignment and delivered puro comida Mexicana! And I'll be back often! read more

This was a good find. Authentic atmosphere, authentic Hispanic cuisine, an awesome selection of dishes & different types of tacos. The service was plentiful & all quick, helpful & friendly. The food looks & tastes homemade & delicious. We loved everything we ordered, so much, we asked if we could buy there homemade corn tortillas. They 1st looked surprised, but after discussing with the manager, he asked how many, & within 10 minutes, we had our 2 doz. fresh made tortillas, all wrapped up ready to go. We are from nearby DE., so if we're ever near this place again, it's in my favorites!!...nuff said! read more

Food was great. Took a little while for it to come out, I got a burrito, it was very good, but took a bit longer then the nachos.

My wife and I drove here from Wilmington, Delaware because we were looking for quality tacos and the reviews gave us high hopes. This place did not disappoint as everything we tried was amazing. Highly recommend Taco Mar (especially the shrimp tacos with white and red sauce). read more

I got the California burrito. There were fries in it! Not my thing, but if it's your thing, get the Cali burrito lol. Salsa containers were super tiny, I couldn't dip the chips. Had to pour the salsa over the chips instead. Overall meh for $16. read more

Absolutely delicious and super quick service! We highly recommend this place for authentic tacos!

Food left much to be desired. Chicken was tough and stringy in our enchiladas . The ambiance was lacking with a disengaged staff and little communication . Overall an expensive letdown . read more

I was so eager to try this place because of the high Yelp reviews but this is one of the worst Mexican places I have ever been to. There are two major issues with the restaurant. First is the food and second is the pricing. In terms of food, we got the carne asada burrito, nacho supreme with carne asada, and the enchilada plate. Let's start with the carne asada burrito. Imagine a tortilla with a little bit of meat in it and then rolled up. It is about a quarter the size of a Chipotle burrito and about the width of two fingers thick (and I do not have large fingers). My children have gotten kid menu burritos and they have never even been as small as the (regular) burrito here. And the fillings in it are next to nothing - I'm pretty sure I had more tortilla than filling! The steak was very dry. And to top it off, this burrito was about $15. I don't know if the chef just hated us for some reason but every other person's burrito in the restaurant looked big. Only our burrito was a pathetic disappointment. The nachos were ok. Mostly chips with some cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, and a sparse sprinkling of dry carne asada. The enchiladas were the best of the three dishes we got. We got the red and green sauce with chicken filling. There was more meat in the enchilada than the burrito (but this is not a lot) and it came with a side of rice and beans. In terms of pricing, the restaurant clearly marked that prices will include a 10% markup. I understood this. What was not clear is that they have raised prices that is at least $2-$4 more than the listed menu price AND there is a 10% surcharge. So each dish comes out to at least $15, which is a lot given the quality and quantity of food. I don't know if the restaurant was having a horribly off day but we came on a Thursday evening. It was not crazy busy (two other small tables when we arrived) and there was plenty of staff (there was more staff than customers). The restaurant totally missed the mark in my book and I would not recommend coming here. The restaurant is located in downtown Westchester with lots and lots of great other dining options. Try anything else instead! read more

I really liked this place! The food was very authentic. I really like the ordering system; just sit down, scan QR code and order. Like magic, the food is at your table moments later. If you want fine dining, this isn't the spot for you but for a good quality and relatively quick meal, this is perfect. The nachos were probably the best I've ever had. The chips stayed crispy all throughout, not a single soggy chip in the bunch! Everyone was very friendly and came over to check on us multiple times. Overall, a wonderful experience! read more

Came here as it was rated well. Walked in music blaring. Super overwhelming. Told me to wait for seating so I waited. Then found out no table service. Tried to order but the menus were incomplete and I didn't know what I was ordering. Tried using the screen ordering system but the burrito bowl only offered me proteins but no veggies? The food was excellent and the location was close to a lot of other shops. We ate and walked around exploring

First, but definitely not last time. I LOVED the fish tacos but can't wait to try more of the menu. Staff was very courteous and friendly.

I've finally been!! I always have seen this place walking but but I've never been in. My boyfriend and I were in the mood for Chipotle but instead he suggested Taco Mar so we gave it a go! The man at the register to take your order was extremely pleasant and friendly! Great guy! He was kind and welcoming. The girl who made my taco bowl seemed friendly enough too, I just didn't have as much interaction with her. We ordered a food to go (a taco bowl, taquitos, and burrito). The taquitos were great! Can't speak to my boyfriends order. And my taco bowl was good. I can't say great, it seemed to lack a little flavor especially in comparison to Chipotle. But it was still good and I'd come back again (but maybe try something else)! Ps. They are BYOB which is fun as heck!! read more

Was pleased with everything they did, the food was great. We ordered off electronic menu and meals were served to us at table.

We went on a Friday afternoon. We sat inside at a table in the back of the restaurant but had to walk up to the front to place an order. We ordered nachos, shrimp tacos, and pork fajita. The nachos were more soft than crunchy. They weren't the best. The shrimp tacos were small, but they were delicious. The shrimp was fresh and the shells were soft. The fajitas came out nice and hot. The meat was a little dry, but the shells, beans, lettuce, etc. were all great. Overall, I had a decent time. I'll be back at some point in the future read more

Enjoyed my burrito here very much. I ordered the alambre with chicken, onions, peppers, cheese, and guacamole. No rice! It was filling but not too filling (thanks to no rice) and the amount of chips served with it was just right. Service was impressively fast for how busy it was. I think going forward I might prefer take out to dining in. It was kind of dim in the new location but the size of the seating area was just large enough. It was also very distracting because there was Spanish music playing up front but I could hear the rock music from the back kitchen on top of everyone chatting. So yeah, not the best atmosphere but really good food. read more

We first visited at the recommendation of David Katz, who's beautiful art gallery is steps away. Be sure to check his work out if when you visit. Tell him Angel says, thanks for the great tip. We were unfamiliar with the area and very hungry. The food was so good!! My kids declared that Taca Mar would definitely be in heaven because the food was AMAZING!!! We burst into laughter that they'd come to such a conclusion. This past weekend we visited again at my son's request. He'd been planning to return for his birthday meal and once again it didn't disappoint. This time I was able to capture pics before the food was devoured, the main meal that is. The appetizer of chips with salsa, guacamole and queso didn't last long. Once again we were pleased with our meal. The leftovers heated up well the next day and in fact, the short ribs were more flavorful than the day before. The queso was such a big hit that we had to order some for takeaway. The service here is good. We had the same waiter, he was very friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with the quality of our meal and the pricing is very fair. Our family of four will definitely be back. read more

I had such a great experience at Taco Mar the other night! The food was unbelievable and authentic Mexican. Everything was cooked perfectly! The chicken was savory and full of flavor, the refried beans were smooth and creamy, and the rice reminded me of my grandma's rice. The service was also amazing. The entire staff was very nice and accommodating! I'm not sure if we were being served by the owner or the manager, but he provided great service, and it was obvious that he cares about the customers and serving great food! We were in desperate need of a new Mexican restaurant, and I'm so happy we found Taco Mar! I'm very excited to go back! Pro Tip: it is BYOB so be sure to bring something with you. But, if you don't no need to worry! Bar Avalon right next door serves to-go margaritas that you can have with your dinner at Taco Mar! I suggest the Avalon margarita! read more
