Friendly and food is good. They are open into the evening hours which is also great. I have tried the pupusas and the asada tacos.

This place is completely authentic. The food was awesome and came out quickly. The server was helpful and sweet.

Delicious! Full plate of loaded tacos. Small local spot--authentic, good sized portions. Good variety of Mexican/Central American cuisine. read more

Best authentic Mexican food. Lovely people. I tell everyone I meet! It's one of the three places I'll go out to eat.

Really good authentic Mexican food with a pretty large menu. Walked in and ordered take out, took 15-20 minutes and I was on my way. Everything was really good. Will return. read more

I work in the West Chester area and my coworker was raving about this place. He said he hasn't had better or more authentic Mexican food anywhere else in our area. I ordered them recently for dinner and wow it was excellent. Fantastic prices, great portions, homemade tortillas, and absolutely delicious. I tried the al pastor tacos and the pollo enchilado tacos as well. Both were excellent. I also enjoyed a gordito with chorizo and a chicken tamale. Both were fantastic. Excellent tamale. Rice and beans were on point. In fact I am about to order them again for lunch. Check this place out. No shade to the other great Mexican joints in WC, but this place is the absolute best. The real deal. read more

A nice little place with authentic Mexican food that was really well made! Everything was very flavorful. We'll be ordering from here again the next time we are craving some good Mexican food. Glad it's just around the corner! read more

We ordered from El Comalito last night. My husband & I had the Enchiladas Rojas and my son had the Parrillada Latina, an order of chips & guacamole, extra order of rice and mild & hot sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious & authentic as you can get. The gentleman that took our order & gave us the order when we picked it up is very cordial, it's always nice to see him. This wasn't our first time ordering & it won't be the last. I highly recommend El Comalito, you won't be disappointed. Thank you, Patty read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch. They have a fairly good size menu . We had the tacos. ( beef, chicken & pork). They were very good. Service was very good too. We'd definitely like to go back when we have more time to try something else. When we looked at the food on neighboring tables it looked good. read more

I have had quite a few mexican meals that were wonderful and many more that were mediocre or even less than that in my lifetime. And believe me when I say this is one of the best mexican restaurant meals ever. What a find! The chili rellenos were the best I have ever had and the pork carnitas were really excellent. The beef empanaditas were unusual on a mexican menu but were fantastic! And do not miss the handmade tortillas. We will return and try other items on the menu. Can't wait !! read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in West Chester. If you like AUTHENTIC Mexican food this is your spot. I love their tacos, especially the barbacoa and the lengua. If you are looking for a giant burrito filled with nonsense, there are 2 other chain places in town. When you get a taco, it's the meat you choose, chopped onions, and cilantro on 2 soft corn tortillas (the way it should be, keep your lettuce out of my tacos) their tamales are awesome too. And they do accept credit cards now read more

Best Mexican food in West chester! Very reasonable, and the portions are big enough to share.

We are a family of Latin roots and we are so excited to have discovered this place! Best Mexican food in the area, hands down! Love the papusas read more

I've travelled extensively in Mexico and Central America and lived in S. California for many years. Craving good Mexican/C. American food, I tried El Comalito, very good and reasonable. I try to go back at least once a week, just to treat myself. read more

Just got takeout from here for the first time and I have a feeling it'll be our go-to spot! Everything was so fresh and delicious. Great chips & guac. The enchiladas are so good- slightly spicy but not overwhelming. Will be back for sure! read more

Great spot for excellent Latin food - Mexican, Guatemala, etc. Haven't had a bad meal here. Friendly guy at the counter too.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the Mexican food is great. I've travelled extensively in Mexico and lived in A. California for many years, and was craving good Mexican cooking. I found it here. Haven't had a disappointing meal yet. And the prices are reasonable. read more

One word: AUTHENTIC! I'm a vegan and can rarely find Americanized Mexican that isn't smothered in cheese. This place however has so many options! I got the veggie fajitas which were delicious. Huge portion that I ended up taking half home. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. At the end of the meal we got plantains, again delicious. Definitely coming back to this shop. Only downside is cash only, but it hardly affects my attitude towards this place. read more

if you want wonderful, real Mexican this is the place to go! I spent time living in southern AZ and went to Mexico often to hit taco shops. I thought I would not find the true bliss of a real taco again, but this place nails it! There are a few tables to sit and eat, but I would imagine most of the business is take out. Not that I would not order some great food, pull up a table and enjoy the tacos with a few cold ones to wash them down. read more

The best, authentic Mexican spot in west chester. I usually get it to go but you can totally eat there, just don't expect much in atmosphere. Places with too much atmosphere are usually BS anyway when it comes to Mexican food. This place rules!! Best guacamole and hot sauce ever!!! read more

Great prices, above average food, happy smiles all around. I'll be back in again. Not much seat seating read more

Found this on yelp but unfortunately when you walk in it's very not up to par. Very dissatisfy

I stopped in here for the first time the other day. And the day after that. That's how good the food is. Amazingly they appear to have far better vegetarian options than many other Mexican places in the area. The prices are reasonable and the chilaquiles are fantastic. Hopefully, I'll be back soon to try even more of their menu! read more

The food here is authentic and delicious. We have dined in and also taken out and every time we've had a great experience. The food is fresh, the portions are a nice size and the price is very fair. I absolutely love their chips and guacamole and their burritos are superb. My only complaint is that it's cash only which tends to be annoying these days. read more

One of my favorite Mexican places in PA so far, and it's actually authentic!! I lived in California and Texas and have had the pleasure to learn and try real Mexican food and this is definitely it! Very hard to find a place this good and legit in the area! I'd highly recommend this to anyone, I've probably tried 10 different kinds of food here and haven't been disappointed so far! read more

Really good food, nice choices for vegetarians. Going to try breakfast there as well. Nice friendly service.

I don't get what other people like about this place. I've been here several times, always hoping for a good meal and I'm always disappointed. The food is the blandest Mexican food I've ever eaten. I won't be back. They also only take cash, which is pretty irritating. read more

Please patronize this establishment as I want it to succeed!! Prior to El Comalito opening up I had to travel to Kennett Square to get food as good and authentic as this. Small store front, can hold about 26 customers max. But the food is outstanding!! The staff is helpful and polite. The food is delicious. You can go there and order a full meal or just a few tacos. Price is reasonable, Cash only !! Go now!!! read more

Everyone's right, this place is authentic as can be! Just came back from eating an awesome Tuesday night meal here with Noopur S. We were craving something like La Tolteca on High Street, which unfortunately closed its doors last year (come back!). Chose to come here out of the many Mexican options nearby. This place seemed like a straight-out-of-the-pueblo shop with the kitchen in the back and some items on sale on the side. Couldn't tell what these items were but definitely not the main focus of this place. Options: A vast array of typical Mexican options from burritos to tostadas to tacos to enchiladas with your standard ingredients (fajita veggies/rice/beans/sour cream/cheese/lettuce/salsa/and avocado too!) with your choice of meat. Not any significant vegetarian protein options, but the rest of the ingredients do a good job of filling you up. Taste: Noopur S. got a chicken enchilada ($11), while I got a vegetarian burrito ($7). The enchilada was enormous and looked very filling (hello leftovers!). My burrito was pretty filling too, however didn't come out hot, which was kind of a bummer. Food temperature aside, it was amazing!! All of the ingredients tasted so fresh and authentic, and the included avocado (you know everyone these days loves charging extra for it) was the cherry on top. For the tortilla, I'm not sure if it was listed, but you have the choice between corn and flour. Also, I asked for it picante (spicy), but the lady said she would put hot sauce on the side for me to use at my discretion. Boy, was she right! At the restaurant, I poured in the hot sauce bite-by-bite and was fine. However, when I finished the other half of the burrito at home (this time warm!) with the hot sauce all poured on top, my mouth was on fire! Service: I'm so sorry for not getting the woman's (seemed to be the owner as well) name, but I promise I'll get it next time! She was outstanding and so accommodating. We came in around 20 min. before closing, yet she didn't rush us out or anything. She also gave amazing suggestions and displayed no annoyances about our requests. Closing Remarks: This place is cash-only so make sure you're prepared! Prices listed include tax, though, so that makes things much easier. Reason for knocking off a star (besides it being really cold in there!) is that it seemed a bit too expensive for being a taqueria (taco shop). Don't get me wrong, still falls under the one dollar sign category, but still seemed a few dollars too high. Regardless, will still be back, and hope that you'll give it a try too! Already thinking about those tostadas... read more

El Comalito is my favorite spot in West Chester for Mexican food. Everything is fresh, authentic and affordable. I had never tried a pupusa before, and now it is one of my all time favorites! The chorizo on anything is really juicy and not too spicy. I tried both types of tamales and both are good but I think the pork is my favorite out of personal preference. I love their fresh guacamole, it is definitely a must have. I haven't had the chance of going to El Comalito for breakfast yet, but it is definitely on my list of things to do as soon as possible. read more

I'd been craving guac all day so I thought I would give this place a try. I can't review the food because I didn't actually get any. The place was not crowded. I went up the the register and had to step around a pile of dirt/dust/fork that someone had swept up and left in the middle of the restaurant. There was a girl milling around behind the register who never even looked up at me. A young girl finally said hello. I looked at the menu and saw an employee walk by the pile and purposely kick the fork, not pick it up, just kick it a few inches. It just seemed a little crusty so I left. read more

I could eat here every single day. Delicious authentic Mexican food. Their tacos are the best around!

I thought this place was Mexican but I think it's not , the people when you arrive at the door they not greeting you and if you don't pay cash they charge you extra dollar if you use credit card I don't think is that right, + my food it was really salty I don't know I think I have to pass for second chance read more

Small restaurant, seats about 20 people at a time. Can't say the taste of the food is small though. I'm a cable guy and I travel all over Chester county. This is probably one of the top Mexican Food places I've tried yet. There's a good bit of Mexican dishes that aren't on the menu but if you ask about it they'll make. I asked for the Alambre, which isn't on the menu. It's my favorite dish and they didn't disappoint. I'll be back. They don't take credit or debit yet, it's cash only for now but soon they will. read more

Don't waste your time and money. Food is expensive for what you get. They skimp on meat in their burritos.
