Love El Limon!!! Great staff, great ambience and great food. Been here three times in past two months. My goto are the shrimp tacos. I also enjoyed the fish tacos but shrimp tacos are better. I went "supreme style" and thoroughly enjoyed them. Dining in is pleasant in their spacious dining area. Bright colors, clean tables and very nice staff make it a great experience. I did not bring any booze but saw others with tequila they brought enjoying a house margarita. Usually i wouldn't do a bad review but had to for this one. The chicken wasn't fully cooked as most of it was slimmy. They failed to warm the corn tortillas and can tell they just took them right out the bag and put "meat" in them. The steak was so tough it felt like rubber. Lastly the chips were all burnt. I took the food back to the restaurant and got a refund. Maybe it was a bad night but I won't be back. read more

On 10/17/24 I ordered from El Limon Malvern on Doordash. I got quesabirria and a barbacoa burrito. I first went to eat the quesabirria and when I opened the tortilla to add lime, I saw what is very obviously a heart valve and heart chamber meat inside the taco. I've ordered from multiple El Limon locations over the years and always had good food. This experience was disturbing and disgusting and I was unable and unwilling to eat anything else in my order and have honestly lost my appetite since then. I've tried to contact the restaurant via email, website, and their facebook page, but have not gotten any responses. So add terrible customer service to disgusting food. read more

I have given this place many chances. The 4.5 stars on yelp always convinces me to go back. The meat is consistently dry and the queso dip is nacho cheese. The steak tacos are the only thing okay on the menu. Disappointing :( read more

I really enjoy El Limon. Especially in a pinch. Our go to's are always the tacos. Carne asada, carnitas, tacos dorados. The flavor is great. My only issue is every single time we order to-go, the order is wrong. We like "supreme" which does not include onion or cilantro and comes with lettuce, tomato and cheese....for some reason, we always come home with cilantro and onion, a bit of lettuce and tomato, no cheese. I can pick off most the onion and cilantro but we pay more for "supreme." Obviously it's on us for not checking before leaving. I'd just like to trust it's correct. It's never an issue if we dine in. Came here for a group lunch on a busy Thursday. Placed was packed and had a typical fast lunch atmosphere. Quickly seated and there were many good options. Started with guacamole and salsa and those were good and come with pita chips. I ordered the mixta fajitas with shrimp and steak and those were okay. Some burritos and tacos were ordered and looked great. They didn't have Diet Coke today but other subs were available. Horchata was delish! I've been to two el limon, one in ambler and one in conshahocken. I always thought ambler was the best but then... I ran into this place in Malvern. Oh. My. Goodness... This place is far above the other two. The food just tastes better; it packs a flavor that is prominent than the other two places. I got the chorizo burrito and it has a level of spice that the other two places did not offer. The loaded nachos with Al pastor again, packed a flavor that the other two places did not offer. The place isn't as busy as the other places and maybe that's why? Being that said, the service is better and it is cleaner. The parking is plenty (cause it's malvern) and everything about this place is more convenient than the other two locations. I need to go back and try a sandwich that they have... That is something I have not seen in the other places so, will go back for sure! If you're in a Mexican food crave and in the area, I recommend this place for sure read more

We came here when traveling for work after a happy hour at Pennsylvania Distilling Company which is near by. They don't do complementary chips and salsa here which is a bit disappointing. We got chips and guacamole, but they brought us salsa with it and then charged us more for it. The guacamole wasn't very good. It was very heavy on the lime so you couldn't taste much avocado. For entrees we tried the Al Pastor quesadilla, the mole steak enchilada, and the fish tacos. The quesadilla was our favorite, but it was very small. The mole enchilada was very good too, but I wish we had done Al Pastor because that was better than the steak. The fish tacos were not good. They had no flavor and were dry. I love their little tacos, but the ambience of the Malvern location leaves a lot to be desired. And it also kind of freaks me out that they have an open propane, flame inside to make tacos. There are utensils and napkins on the side to collect to bring along. We have loved El Limon in Ambler and had been in the Malvern area so we thought we would try it. We love El Limon. It's positioned in the back of a kind of run down building but don't be scared away- it's STILL the same El Limon. My server in Ambler months ago told me that they now have seven, yes 7 locations. How awesome is that?! Today I had the carnitas burrito. My only complaint was that the pork was extremely dry. I was a bit disappointed. In the past the carnitas have been juicy, tender and flavorful- today they were dry, hard and stringy. The plus though was the flavorful guacamole. I thought the price on the menu was 1.50, but on my check it was 2.50. Still very worth it for this savory treat. I still enjoyed the burrito because I bathed it in the guacamole. It was topped with cool crunchy lettuce and arrived without beans as I requested. Had the server checked back I would have mentioned my dissatisfaction w the carnitas. We were the only one of two tables in the restaurant. This has happened to me in the past at the Ambler location- the food is served but then there isn't a check back. By the time the server came back I had finished 90% of my meal so I wasn't going to say anything at that point because it was futile. Do it and here's why - always trust Mexican restaurants who have their own sauces on the table especially a verde sauce - there are so many options everyone will be happy - all the ingredients are fresh, colorful and delicious - guac. No explanation needed when you have good guac - I love being able to try several things at once! I got the al pastor and the Barbacoa- both amazing in their own ways - absolutely affordable - staff are kind and attentive - never packed, always available I can be a Mexican snob. Do not be fooled by the location or the lack of ambiance. The food is authentic, DELICIOUS and served quickly. They have a margarita mix, so you can BYOB your tequila. Our group had a mix of tacos (pulled pork, pineapple pork one, beef, tongue and fish) as well as burritos, salsa and guac.
