    Tequila spritzer

Came here for lunch and loved it! Great food and good service. We started with chips and queso which were solid. I got the tequila spritzer to drink and really liked it and my husband enjoyed his mule. I got the plant lovers and honey grilled shrimp tacos. Both were soooo good. Great flavor and so filling, especially the plant lovers which was very rich with the cheese sauce. Husband got the bomba bowl with skirt steak and loved it. We will definitely be back!

Great location and a nice taco place. They have traditional and unique tacos, which I loved. I got the cowboy fries. I was happy I asked for the BBQ sauce on the side, but I wish this had some veggies for a bit of relief. The menu listed scallions but I didn't get any for some reason. The flavors were great, a bite with the pork, fries, onions and cheese was very good. The kids meals are cute and come with a "surprise" which was a waffle covered with churro flavored sugars. I would go back!

A very mid dining experience. To be very not politically correct and very stereotypical: This is a taco place for white ladies driving suburbans who are solely in it for the margaritas. Or maybe for office workers who desperately need to escape the corporate grind and don't really care that the food is mid. It is NOT a grimy, delicious taco shack that will feed your soul with juicy, moist, flavorful tacos. I got the street tacos because my theory is: if a restaurant makes the basics well, its fancier dishes are probably worth it. If the basics suck, I won't come back. My tacos were the definition of mediocre. The tortillas were greasy and soggy/rubbery, the meat unimpressive, the sides wilted and stingy, and the overall experience quite dry. The queso was quite yummy, and I don't drink, but our friend who does said that the margs were great. If you know how to pickle your own onions, or even if you just like crunchy pickled onions, you won't like the food here.

I had come here for a work happy hour a few months ago, where I had the opportunity to try a couple of their appetizers. This time I came with my family for dinner on a Saturday evening. It was moderately busy. The hostess was friendly and promptly seated us, giving us the option for inside or outside. We chose to sit inside. Paper menus doubled as placemats, and water was brought out to us right away. We shared the pricey Dip Trio (with the fire-roasted tomato salsa), loaded Cowboy Fries, and fun Bacon-wrapped Jalapeños. I got one Lucha Libre taco; others enjoyed the Smoked Piggy, Carne Asada, and Americano. For dessert we shared the big, messy Churro Waffle Sundae. Everything was hot, fresh, and very tasty! The various meats in our dishes were a bit on the salty side, but textures were nice. Portions were generous. Service was good and fairly quick. We all asked for water refills once, and didn't wait long to receive them. Overall I'd say it was a positive experience, and I'm sure we will return!

I really loved Bombas the last time I tried it so I was excited to go back. Unfortunately, it was not as good as I remembered it being it being. The beachcomber tacos were noticeably smaller, but the smoked piggy was stuffed. The tacos were a bit cold when we got them, I love my food to be piping hot I think it makes it taste better so this ruined the flavor for me. The tacos and chips all tasted fine nothing rave worthy though. I got the orange margarita and enjoyed it, I was tipsy after one but I'm also a lightweight so it's not that hard. I wouldn't mind going back since it's affordable but it's not something I'm itching to go back again. The service was a lot better this time so that's a plus.

Great food, great drinks, great service. I always come during happy hour with co workers. Despite the chaos of our group coming and going, the servers always kept up (even when our servers changed due to a shift ending). I love their rum punch!! My go to drink here. Their cheesy bread and chicken nachos are amazing! Wish I got a picture but I literally inhale the food the second it arrives lol

Awful menu, dried sticky residue all over.

Disgusting menu, seriously sticky mess all over. Service was slow, I get the sense the kitchen isn't really even going until noon. I really want to love this local taco place. The mushroom taco is a dream everyone should try. But everything else just disappoints!

Food was yum, but the guac was missing flavor. Speaking of the guac, we asked to only get the tortilla chips instead of their typical chip blend. Will def ask for this again in the future! Kind wait staff and quick to delivering food.

Baja Shrimp Nashville Hot Chicken Taco Magic Carpet Ride-

I am so happy to have a great Mexican restaurant option in this area! My friend and I came here for happy hour yesterday. I have never been to Bomba, but I love Paladar in King of Prussia and these are the same owners. We decided to come for their happy hour deals, which is 4-6 on weekdays. I love that you can get the happy hour deals at a table, not just at the bar. We split a margarita carafe for $20... such a great deal! We opted for the pomegranate ginger and it was delish. There wasn't a ton of ginger flavor, in my opinion, but I loved the tartness from the pomegranate. We also got the chips and guac, which is $6 on happy hour. I loved the guac and the chip blend it came with! For my entree, I did three tacos. They are big! They recommend 3-4 a person, but I probably would have been fine with 2, especially since we had an app. I got the baja shrimp, nashville hot chicken, and magic carpet (falafel). The flavors were super unique and all 3 were delish! If I had to pick a fav, it would be the hot chicken. Be warned though... it is spicy and messy!! But so so good! I look forward to coming back here again and again this summer! The service was definitely slow and we had to wait a while for the guac to come which was strange, but my friend and I didn't mind since we were catching up and never felt rushed!

TT Charred Pineapple Margarita, Lucha Libre taco, Blackened Mahi Mahi taco, and Baja Shrimp taco, and Caribbean Mango Salsa
    Ryli C.

I was in town for work and this place was recommended to me. I arrived on a Tuesday around 5:30 (still in time for happy hour deals!). The charred pineapple margarita was fantastic to start with. Just enough sweetness and smokiness combined. I paired my drink with chips and mango salsa - the salsa was a little too sweet for me to have more than a couple bites of, and the chips needed some seasoning/salt. Very bland when chips should be a staple of a Mexican restaurant! I ordered the following tacos: Lucha Libre taco, Blackened Mahi Mahi taco, and Baja Shrimp taco. The Lucha libre taco was by far my favorite. Such an unexpected flavor with such a weird combination of ingredients. Very good though! The Baja shrimp was a close second favorite though. And the mahi mahi taco was just alright. My waitress was super quick and attentive initially, but by the end I was sitting for a while waiting for my check. I liked the atmosphere, very bright and inviting. Will ask to sit outside or in the covered patio next time. it seems to fill up quick especially for happy hour but there appears to be a lot of seating. Would definitely try this place again next time I'm in town.

I ordered 2 beachcomber tacos and shared a mango salsa and queso dip with chips. Thoroughly disappointed, I can't believe how different my experience was this time around compared to the last time I was here a few months ago. First of all, the fish tacos were distinctively smaller. The taco shell was starchy and overpowering for the taco fillings and did not provide a good experience. The chips and dip were okay; I particularly enjoyed the mango salsa because of its sweet, soft taste. The pineapple marg on the other hand, is monstrous. I did not taste a drop of alcohol. Horrendous. Not planning on coming back. Service was nice though--I have to admit.

Three tacos: americano, Baja fish and fried shrimp.

The setting, as you would undoubtedly surmise, is typically hotel-esque in nature. That being said, however, the room still manages to generate a certain generic charm. And I would also hasten to add that the service - even with our various parties of 20 or more - has been excellent in every respect. But on to the food... The dinner menu isn't quite what you'd expect. Take the starters, for instance. The usual suspects - Cesare Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, French Onion Soup, Buffalo Chicken Wings, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls - as you note, are present and accounted for. However, there are also a number of innovative diversions - such as Soft Bavarian Pretzel Sticks with Delco Lager cheese sauce, Pepperoni Bolognese Flatbread spruced up with crème fraiche, ricotta, Fontina & Parmigiano cheeses, and the Ten Million Dollar Dip that features Maine lobster, sour cream, bacon, cheddar, almond, scallions, and Ritz crackers - that manage to grab your attention. Moving on, diners may choose from either the Entrées category or take a more casual route with Sandwiches & Pub Fare. The former, which lists a number of all-too-familiar ingestibles, still manages to tempt our taste buds by teaming them up with some rather intriguing sidekicks. A not-terribly-exciting Pan Roasted Chicken, for example, is prepared agrodolce, with an alluring sour-sweet demi-glace... Chilean Sea Bass is cooked up teriyaki style... Canadian Salmon is adorned with a sweet & spicy glaze and companioned by mango & yogurt... Sautéed Lamb Sirloin is enhanced with a rich & savory Madeira sauce... and a 10oz Strip Steak basks in an addictive shallot & port wine reduction. Other main course possibilities include Angus Filet au Poivre with cognac cream, Char Grilled Pork Flat Iron marinated with garlic & oregano, Lobster Fra Diavolo, Crab Stuffed Shrimp, and Broiled Scallop & Lobster Gratin. On the other hand, should you decide to take the Sandwiches & Pub Fare route, have no fear, you will certainly not be disappointed. During previous visits, I sampled the Garganelli Pasta Bolognese and the Chicken Cobb Salad. Both were excellent. The former is comprised of buttered garganelli (egg-based pasta from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy), angus beef Bolognese, olive oil, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The latter combines mixed lettuces, hard-boiled egg, tomato, blue cheese, bacon, and avocado sprinkled with a zesty lemon vinaigrette. Most recently, my dining companion made straight for the Crab Cake Sandwich, to which she gave an enthusiastic "thumps up." I, on the other hand, couldn't resist the considerable charms of the Chicken Cutlet & Ranch BLT, a luscious combo on toasted brioche immersed in an incredibly addictive herb ranch dressing. I should add that the delicious hand-cut French fries, which accompanied both sandwiches, were a considerable drawing card as well. The dessert menu runs the gamut... from such familiar sweet endings as Crème Brûlée and Warm Chocolate Lava Cake to Mango Lime Cheesecake with raspberry sauce, Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding garnished with vanilla ice cream, and Frozen Mississippi Mud Pie. The restaurant also offers Bassetts Ice Cream & Sorbet, should you be so inclined. For my money, however, nothing quite surpasses The Desmond's Warm Bread Pudding. Bathed in a sweet vanilla sauce, this is one outrageously rich, thoroughly delightful denouement that more than lives up to its considerable reputation. Simply not to be missed.

Overall, The Jockey is solidly average when it comes to food, service, and ambiance. Nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible either. Where The Jockey truly shines, though, is its Happy Hour value, which is easily the best in the area. Drinks are a great deal compared to nearby spots: half off all beers on tap, plus discounted house wine and cocktails. The Happy Hour appetizer selection is larger than most, and the quality is surprisingly good. Buck-a-shuck oysters! Only one variety, but for a dollar, you can't complain. Bonus points for offering Happy Hour on weekends, which is rare. If you're in the area during Happy Hour, it's absolutely worth stopping in.

True to my nature as a "prior proper planner," I already had an appointment scheduled in West Chester, so I headed down to get the repairs underway. While I waited, I decided to find some local eats. A quick Google search led me to The Jockey just outside of Philadelphia. The reviews mentioned it was a family-owned joint, and the decor looked incredibly inviting. The aesthetic actually reminded me of The Polo Bar in NYC; it has that same sophisticated, equestrian charm. Personally, I love horses--I know all the horses in the world, and they know me--and I know the horses. so I was eager to check it out. My mother picked me up from the dealership, and we "galloped" our way down to the restaurant. The Food I was surprised to find the place packed at 12:30 PM on a Tuesday, but I assumed we had just hit the peak lunch rush. We started with the calamari, my mother ordered a sandwich, and I opted for the salmon with drunken noodles. Honestly, I think the chef in the back was more "drunk" than the noodles. * The Salmon: It arrived super crisp and borderline burnt. * The Calamari: Overcooked, greasy, and wet--it felt like it hadn't seen a strainer or a paper towel since leaving the fryer. * The Sauce: The marinara was watery, almost as if the back-of-house was running low and decided to stretch it with water. The Verdict The only saving grace was the aesthetic. The decor is lovely, and they have a very inviting event space in the basement. However, you can't eat the wallpaper. * Food: 2/5 (A hard pass on the kitchen's execution.) * Service: 3/5 (The staff never checked on us while we were eating.) * Location/Convenience: 4/5 (Close to everything in a great area.) I likely won't be visiting this place again. I'm genuinely surprised this is a local favorite in such an upscale area--perhaps the locals just haven't ventured out enough to know what they're missing.
