Last night was my 2nd time at Bomba, and it left a lot to be desired. The guacamole was clearly not fresh and had no flavor. We were barely given any chips and they also had no flavor. I did get the Nashville hot chicken tacos which was superb but the shrimp ones were very blah. Our waitress was great, very kind and efficient. The menu is smaller than what I remembered from my first visit. I think there are better Mexican places in the area that I would rather go to before returning to Bomba. read more

Came here for lunch and loved it! Great food and good service. We started with chips and queso which were solid. I got the tequila spritzer to drink and really liked it and my husband enjoyed his mule. I got the plant lovers and honey grilled shrimp tacos. Both were soooo good. Great location and a nice taco place. They have traditional and unique tacos, which I loved. I got the cowboy fries. I was happy I asked for the BBQ sauce on the side, but I wish this had some veggies for a bit of relief. The menu listed scallions but I didn't get any for some reason. The flavors were great, a bite with the pork, fries, onions and cheese was very good. The kids meals are cute and come with a "surprise" which was a waffle covered with churro flavored sugars. A very mid dining experience. To be very not politically correct and very stereotypical: This is a taco place for white ladies driving suburbans who are solely in it for the margaritas. Or maybe for office workers who desperately need to escape the corporate grind and don't really care that the food is mid. It is NOT a grimy, delicious taco shack that will feed your soul with juicy, moist, flavorful tacos. I got the street tacos because my theory is: if a restaurant makes the basics well, its fancier dishes are probably worth it. If the basics suck, I won't come back. My tacos were the definition of mediocre. The tortillas were greasy and soggy/rubbery, the meat unimpressive, the sides wilted and stingy, and the overall experience quite dry. The queso was quite yummy, and I don't drink, but our friend who does said that the margs were great. I had come here for a work happy hour a few months ago, where I had the opportunity to try a couple of their appetizers. This time I came with my family for dinner on a Saturday evening. It was moderately busy. The hostess was friendly and promptly seated us, giving us the option for inside or outside. We chose to sit inside. Paper menus doubled as placemats, and water was brought out to us right away. We shared the pricey Dip Trio (with the fire-roasted tomato salsa), loaded Cowboy Fries, and fun Bacon-wrapped Jalapeños. I got one Lucha Libre taco; others enjoyed the Smoked Piggy, Carne Asada, and Americano. For dessert we shared the big, messy Churro Waffle Sundae. Everything was hot, fresh, and very tasty! The various meats in our dishes were a bit on the salty side, but textures were nice. Portions were generous. Service was good and fairly quick. We all asked for water refills once, and didn't wait long to receive them. Overall I'd say it was a positive experience, and I'm sure we will return! read more

I ate here last night since it was Taco Tuesday. I have been going here once a month since March while traveling for work. Last night I ordered the shrimp tacos and fries. The tacos were $3.50 and the margaritas were $6. I tried the charred pineapple and the watermelon. The were both delicious and strong!!! Definitely worth the price. This was the first time I had Mel been there that i did not order the plantains, but maybe next month. The food was great overall. I ate at the bar and the bartenders were very nice. Bamba is a nice place to meet friends and toss back a few margaritas. There's an open dining area and outside seating. The service at the bar is friendly and attentive. But don't expect much from the kitchen. Trust me, you're best off sticking to the margs. My daughter ordered the street tacos and I ordered two of the special tacos. As far as the street tacos are concerned, they're more like sad appetizers with mushy oversalted filling no toppings. Something I would expect to see in prison on taco day. I really loved Bombas the last time I tried it so I was excited to go back. Unfortunately, it was not as good as I remembered it being it being. The beachcomber tacos were noticeably smaller, but the smoked piggy was stuffed. The tacos were a bit cold when we got them, I love my food to be piping hot I think it makes it taste better so this ruined the flavor for me. The tacos and chips all tasted fine nothing rave worthy though. I got the orange margarita and enjoyed it, I was tipsy after one but I'm also a lightweight so it's not that hard. I wouldn't mind going back since it's affordable but it's not something I'm itching to go back again. The service was a lot better this time so that's a plus. read more

Great food, great drinks, great service. I always come during happy hour with co workers. Despite the chaos of our group coming and going, the servers always kept up (even when our servers changed due to a shift ending). I love their rum punch!! My go to drink here. My "smash burger" was plain and unseasoned, I only tasted raw onion. It looked like a regular frozen patty. The smash was left in the kitchen. Service was very bland as well, our waitress had no enthusiasm when my wife asked her about some items on the menu. It was very much a "meh" experience. This place is perfect for people with no taste buds. There were also no smells!! We sat RIGHT next to the kitchen and didn't smell a thing. My wife's nachos were riddled with cheese and unseasoned beans. By the time her food came out WITH MINE it was already cold. The fries were gritty and over seasoned in the WORST way. I am so happy to have a great Mexican restaurant option in this area! My friend and I came here for happy hour yesterday. I have never been to Bomba, but I love Paladar in King of Prussia and these are the same owners. We decided to come for their happy hour deals, which is 4-6 on weekdays. I love that you can get the happy hour deals at a table, not just at the bar. We split a margarita carafe for $20... such a great deal! We opted for the pomegranate ginger and it was delish. There wasn't a ton of ginger flavor, in my opinion, but I loved the tartness from the pomegranate. We also got the chips and guac, which is $6 on happy hour. I loved the guac and the chip blend it came with! For my entree, I did three tacos. They are big! They recommend 3-4 a person, but I probably would have been fine with 2, especially since we had an app. I got the baja shrimp, nashville hot chicken, and magic carpet (falafel). The flavors were super unique and all 3 were delish! If I had to pick a fav, it would be the hot chicken. Be warned though... it is spicy and messy!! But so so good! I look forward to coming back here again and again this summer! I paired my drink with chips and mango salsa - the salsa was a little too sweet for me to have more than a couple bites of, and the chips needed some seasoning/salt. Very bland when chips should be a staple of a Mexican restaurant! I ordered the following tacos: Lucha Libre taco, Blackened Mahi Mahi taco, and Baja Shrimp taco. The Lucha libre taco was by far my favorite. Such an unexpected flavor with such a weird combination of ingredients. Very good though! The Baja shrimp was a close second favorite though. And the mahi mahi taco was just alright. My waitress was super quick and attentive initially, but by the end I was sitting for a while waiting for my check. I'm so sad this place completely changed their menu and everything that we loved about it. I should've known something was up when I pulled in and found a parking spot easily. The place just oozes corporate now. The changes: Happy hour is only at the bar so if you brought your kid and wanted discount dips and chips, you're out of luck. The queso price doubled but the portion was half. They got rid of the ability to purchase individual tacos and no longer have the chorizo one (my personal favorite). The menu is downsized significantly and features a lot of things I would never anticipate at a taco place or Mexican restaurant - (ie- Mac and cheese, smash burger burrito). They introduced new items like tequila flights and mocktails and threw up some very vibrant paint and some wing murals. Unfortunately, I will not be back. The food was great, the drinks were weak, but the service was horrible. Our server was teaching a new person how to do the job and all i can say is she did not do a good job. She exaggerated that the umbrella took like 7 men to move so I (woman) got up and moved it myself. My child wanted ketchup and mustard for there burger so I had to get up and ask for that, we needed plates for our dessert so i had to get up again to find someone and a third time I had to find someone to take our check. Overall really cool spot that I want to try again. We went in on a Saturday night later in the evening and during the summer so it wasn't as packed as I'm guessing it will be. We had great fast service. Our server in the seating section was the bartender who also had to make all the drinks for the rest of the restaurant. She was very attentive and did a great job balancing her two responsibilities. She also made some killer delicious drinks!! We tried the Skinny Margarita, the Margarita Flight and the Red Sangria. All were fresh, delicious and refreshing. I highly recommend the Margarita Flight if you like margs. It was cool to taste all of the different options that you don't get at a typical taco place. Bombas has a cool spin on classic margs and they all have a really unique flavor. The flavors in our Marg Flight were: pineapple, watermelon, and pomegranate; my fave was the watermelon. It's made the the agua Fresca and was delish!! The Red Sangria was good but a bit too sweet for me. All food we ordered came out very fast and there wasn't one thing I didn't enjoy. Everything was flavorful and had it's own unique flavor unlike many taco places where everything tastes the same. We started with the regular queso and street corn. The queso was very good and it was cool to have three types of chips to try with it. The street corn was one of my faves of all time. I love street corn and this is on the top of the list! Tacos were great! Highly recommend getting 2-3 if you have appetizers too because we were almost full by the time we got to our tacos. Wonderfully appropriate level of attentiveness. Our waiter was obviously both experienced and had an eye for detail. Oh, BTW, the Tacos scrumptious! All at a fair price at a convenient location! We recently had our wedding rehearsal dinner catered from Bomba. Our catering planner Kelly was amazing with suggestion's & quantity on what to order. The food was amazing! Giving our guest a choice of steak, chicken, & Brussels sprout tacos was perfect. The coconut mango rice was delicious, as well as the cucumber salad, and Brazilian cheese balls with honey. Everyone raved about the food, and I'm sure our guest will be going to the restaurant to try different entrees. read more

I've been to Bomba several times and kept meaning to write a review. Unfortunately the rating after my last experience is lower than prior experiences. When Bomba first opened, this place was a solid 5 out of 5 (amazing menu options, excellent service, great quality). The menu options are still excellent. I hope the BLT taco becomes permanent. But I've seen the service and food quality go down. While dining here on Saturday night, we ordered 3 tacos, the bacon wrapped Jalapenos appetizer (or snack as listed on menu) and Vietnamese meatball bowl. The BLT taco was best of the 3 tacos. The Brussel sprout taco was my favorite in the past but the Brussel sprouts were very burnt and way overcooked (and this is coming from someone who likes food very crispy). The pork meatballs in the salad were overly firm and it was hard to eat them considering they never gave me a fork and I couldn't locate our server. I do like the option of the cauliflower rice instead of white rice and the Kale was delicious. We were very happy with the cocktail menu and our selections other than asking for a cocktail straw and never getting one. We were disappointed with the service. It was a Saturday night so I get that it's probably their busiest time. Our waitress was nice to start but then we never saw her again after she brought drinks. It was always a different employee usually a runner stopping by our table. Our entrees came before our appetizer. And the runners ran away from our table before I could even get the words out to ask again for missing silverware, straw, glass of water, etc. I do love their menu. Being able to get several different types of tacos is fun and the uniqueness does set them apart from other restaurants. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped Jalapenos. Well I have to try a new taco place near work, right? The problem here, and maybe the unfair comparison, is that right up the street is El Limon which are the best tacos in this area. How can they stack up? I'd call Bomba good, maybe not great. I tried the Yard Bird which is the chicken taco, the El Gringo which is ground beef, and the Baja Shrimp which has fried shrimp on it. I enjoyed the shrimp the most. The chicken was decent. The ground beef was good but it seemed like they were trying too hard to add flavors that didn't quite mix in for me. I like the idea of ordering three different tacos and that's it. That kind of ala carte ordering appeals to me. And service was very good. Don't get me wrong. I liked it here. I may come back. Tried to walk in for quick take out. Menu was out of date and unclear. Front desk staff were kind but unprepared and couldn't tell us what was and was not on the menu and couldn't correctly place our to-go order. Manager took a while to come help and when he did he was rude and condescending as if it was our fault the menu was out of date and confusing. We ordered 2 catering stand kits and we didn't get the large pan for the bottom. The "crispy" Shrimp and churros were both dried out. The beans were layered over the rice and had no flavor. I came here for a work dinner. The place was very busy when we came. But, we were able to snag a table. We all shared the chips, guac, and queso dip. The chips were mixed with regular tortilla ships and vegetable roots, which was pretty cool and very tasty. The guac and queso dips were so good and very addicting. Drink: Jalapeno Paloma. This drink is tropical and spicy. It's served with a cool palm leaf and slice of pineapple Entree: Baja shrimp taco: It had crispy shrimp, pickled jalapenos, mango salsa, and a vinaigrette slaw. This taco tasted really good. I liked the crispy shrimp and mango combination. Blackened mahi mahi: It had a good portion of mahi mahi, pickled onions and mango, and a cilantro slaw. This one was my favorite taco. The mahi mahi was cooked just right and was not overly blackened. The Yard Bird: chipotle chicken, pickled onions, guac, and cilantro. It was very good. Came here on a Wednesday night, pretty busy for a weeknight after happy hour. Atmosphere was good, it was pretty farm so the window behind us was open and we could hear the live music from next door. Several of our orders were messed up by our waiter. She was so sweet, though. For one, our table of 5 each ordered the trio margaritas (spiced apple was amazing! Very ~fall~) and when they were brought out the orders were not right. She said that she had mixed up the seating chart on her device--not a big deal. Drinks were good otherwise. My friend who came had ordered the Vietnamese bowl with sweet potatoes and cauliflower rice instead of normal rice (she can't have grains). Her bowl came with regular rice. When we told our waitress she was so sweet and apologetic and admitted she had written it down wrong mistakenly, but it did take a bit for her new bowl to come out while we were all eating our meals.
