Upon walking into this restaurant it becomes immediately noticeable that this a "neighborhood nook" . I was the only individual that wasn't recognized as a regular yet the cozy charm was still imbued amongst the service I received and I was still greeted enthusiastically. ENVIRONMENT Cute and cozy are the first words that come to mind when walking into the breakfast nook. The environment can best be described as the dining room of a cottage. There was ample seating and a sense of familiarity that instantly makes you feel at home. FOOD Bomb coffee!!!! I have to start there. While I was waiting for my food I heard several quips amongst the regulars about the quality of the coffee and I decided to take the dive myself. I was NOT disappointed. The other standouts were the turkey sausage and THE PANCAKES. There's no shortage of breakfast spots along Mainline both commercial and locally owned. The staff are so friendly and are great with keeping seating moving without rushing folks out! They have a fairly sizeable menu for breakfast and lunch, so there's options for everyone! They are now teens but still love coming and getting their favorite Nutella stuffed French toast. I usually get an omelette. I should mention the soups are outstanding. I ended up in Malvern and was very happy to see Julie Anne's Place's 4.7 google maps rating. I haven't had the best luck in Malvern but things may be starting to change. 1st, $5.43 for a scrapple, egg and cheese on toast. You know I love that. I ate here earlier today with my kids and it was a disappointment, which was very surprising given the high ratings here... First, the building was under construction. It looked like they were getting a new roof but they had the front entrance taped off and if I hadn't seen someone else walk to the left to a small path on the porch I'd have assumed they were closed. As a result of the construction it was pretty loud as the workers kept throwing stuff off the roof. The inside was quaint but cramped. There are only 8 or so tables and they're packed in. We started things off with drinks but they were really small. My large juice couldn't have been bigger than 10oz and the smalls my kids got were 8oz I'd guess. Kids both ordered chocolate chip pancakes and while they said they were good, they were fairly thin, closer to a crepe than what you'd typically expect for a pancake. Enough for them, but certainly not an adult. The syrup was Aunt Jemima. I ordered the Mexican Mess and like the pancakes, it was very small. I ate it all, and "ok" is probably the best description, but I was still hungry when done. My son asked for a side of bacon and I suspect it was microwaved. Very flat, stuck together, super thin. On top of that, it took a pretty long time to for the food to come out. Diners are generally fast but this place wasn't. When we got there one employee was clearing tables and later I saw her cooking in the kitchen, so I don't know if they're understaffed, if that's normal, or what. Last, the food was shockingly expensive for what we got. With tip and "credit card surcharge" (something not disclosed in advance as it should have been, and something I personally get very irritated by since in 2024 CCs are the norm and this is a cost of doing business) the bill was more than $45 and it wouldn't have been nearly enough food for adults. The Classic in Malvern is more expensive but a much better value given the quality and the portion size, and if you're from further west, Green Street Grill in Downingtown offers more traditional diner fare in larger portions for the same price. I probably would have had a better experience if I just stopped in for coffee and a muffin but I can't recommend actually eating in for breakfast. read more

Our server was friendly and efficient and checked on us just the right amount. The restaurant is a cozy converted house which is tastefully decorated. The bathroom is adorable. I had the Greek omelette and while very tasty was a bit runny for my liking. I upgraded to a small side salad rather than toast. It was fresh and delicious. I would definitely go back and if I ordered another omelette, I would just request it be cooked a little bit more. Definitely worth a visit!! read more

I love this place! It's so cute and the service is amazing! It feels like you're having breakfast at someone's home which is nice and relaxing! The waitress was so nice and the food was very good. (I thought it was really cute that my hot chocolate came in a Cinderella mug) I'm not from the area but a few people came in and left that yelled hello and goodbye to the people in the kitchen. This is an absolutely ADORABLE little restaurant that turned out to be just perfect for a small reunion of friends. They don't take reservations but when I called ahead the night before, the woman who answered the phone checked to see how many staff would be working and said it wouldn't be a problem since if they were out of room on the main floor, they'd open up and seat us in their extra room in the second floor. Parking is available just across the street, It turned out they were able to squeeze us in on the main floor after all (it is admittedly quite a small dining area, be forewarned!) The main dining area is cozy and casual and super friendly with a super comfortable neighborhood feel to it. Wait staff are awesome! Attentive, friendly, greeting regulars and newcomers with a smile and warm welcome. And the food is *really* tasty! Had the French toast (mmmmm), others had omelets, stuffed French toast, pancakes ... the plates were all clean when we finished. Highly recommend! read more

What a disappointment! I expected much more with so many 5 star reviews. The indoor dining area is very cramped. That would be fine if the food was excellent. Unfortunately, that was a let down, as well. The iced coffee was watery. The omelets were mediocre, at best. The onions were not cooked in the omelets, in fact they were still raw enough to be crispy, yet the omelets were still bland. The service was horrible. Maybe 6-8 tables inside and it took 30 minutes for someone to take our order, which we had to go hunt down someone for that to happen. The food takes a long time to arrive. Looking back over the reviews, the main praise is that the place is "charming and cute". Eh. I've been to places that are far more charming and cute that also have excellent service and outstanding food. The customers mainly seemed to be a certain type and age of upper middle class white women who are loud and think they are characters in Gilmore Girls or a Hallmark movie or something. There is a fee for paying with anything other than cash, so be prepared for that. Will not return. One of the worst dining experiences I've had in quite some time. read more

This place is a good place to come and have breakfast/brunch. The place is cozy, house setting which was turned into a restaurant. The food was pretty good; i got the chocolate French toast and a friend got some kind of breakfast platter which was your typical classic order. The chocolate French toast was a little too sweet for me in my opinion (disclaimer: im more of a savory kind of guy). The plate my friend got with eggs, and homefries looked really good though so if I was to go back, i would get that. The waitress did mention how the chocolate French toast was one of their top choices so if you have a sweet tooth, go for it! We did get some desserts before leaving and the pies were super delicious. They make it fresh everyday so for sure grab it on the way. read more

And those tastes were delicious. We were here on Christmas Eve right after 7 o'clock in the morning so it was not that crowded, but this place is so delicious I imagine it might fill up the seven tables on the main floor. So good! Came here based on high Yelp rating and it proved to be accurate. I had the Buffalo chicken omelet, it's probably the best omelet I've had yet. The egg was well seasoned and very flavorful; the husband had chocolate chip pancakes with a side of eggs and sausage and he also thoroughly enjoyed his meal. We also tried the cream cheese stuffed French toast; the flavor was good but the French toast was soggy, so the texture was very monotonous. The cream cheese flavor was evident in bite but not life changing. The customer service was so lovely, the coffee was well brewed--not diluted at all. Absolute mom-and-pop place with a big diner menu and a bustling crowd. It's in a nice little two-story house with the downstairs living room area being the dining room. It was cramped, yes, but very cute! The food was questionable, and my advice would be to stick with stuff that's impossible to mess up. My boyfriend and I ordered two orders of pancakes each, with two side of fries and and order of bacon. The pancakes were as any pancakes you'd expect, fluffy and a classic, topped with powdered sugar. The bacon was thin, but it was cooked well enough, and the fries were... not fries. They were fried! I guess. It was a mashed potato that was seared like a patty. I'm not sure if the one I got specifically was awful, but the insides were not cooked at all while the outside was burnt. It had absolutely no spice, either, so eating the inside was kind of like biting into a potato as you would an apple. It didn't even really look all that appealing, but, again, that might just have been mine. They brought out a full bottle of syrup for our pancakes. They still had the old Aunt Jemima bottle with the old mascot on it, which, considering they started producing the new bottles in June of 2021, was only a little bit questionable. Julie Anne's Place is a friendly, efficient and solid breakfast joint for when you are craving that classic American cooking. It is a smaller, cozy place, with about 20 seats total. The main different between this place and other breakfast joints is that both the food and the setting is very clean. My father doesn't eat pork and we were informed they clean the grill after cooking meat each time. For the food. My father and I bought veggie and cheese omelettes. The cheese was very cheesy and there must've been three eggs in it. The bread was hardly toasted and slammed with a chunk of butter. I had to wipe most of it off. The coffee wasn't the best but you don't go to Julie's for the coffee. What really won me over was the grilled blueberry muffin with butter. It was warm and unreal.
