Dearest Reader, I have struggled with this review for a while now. Do I say anything? Should I keep this to myself? Sigh. Better angels have prevailed. Centrella's Deli sells Stock's Bakery pound cakes. Vanilla, marbled, iced, straight up. and ... They sell Isgro pastries. The jewels of two legendary Philly bakeries under one roof. Oh, sure, they have a great deli, a supply of P & S (fitting, since the space used to be a P & S store) and some grab and go foods, too. These are great. Their pepperoni & cheese Stromboli is fantastic, mostly because it's wrapped in buttery garlic bread. Mmmm. Staff were lovely. One said "Don't worry, no one's going to take your pound cakes away" as they saw me clutching two against my chest. Yep, I'm making sure of that. Parking parallel on Brookline is pretty easy. First time getting a cheesesteak here and the large is massive! Plenty of meat on fresh bread. I just did not get any flavor in the meat maybe next time I'll ask for salt and pepper. 3 people can eat from a large sandwich. I definitely want to go back and try other items because they have a pretty good looking menu. It's under new ownership but they are keeping it true to the original. They have beer on tap, a nice selection of beers and wines, pastries and regular items you may need in a pinch. Plenty of parking and nice staff! read more

Ordered catering for my daughter's bridal shower and I couldn't recommend them more for any of your catering needs. I ordered the package #3 which was more than plenty. I ended up sending so much food home with guests. The meatballs, ziti, chicken and broccoli pasta, hoagie tray, antipasti, and pepperoni and cheese tray were all delicious. The rolls were so good that my husband packed them up and brought them home all the way to Fl! Tastes as if you spend hours in your kitchen making it yourself. Wow! The food choices for take out are amazing and I can't wait to try some. I came in for an Italian hoagie, which was FRESH, delicious and HUGE!! Nice Italian market/deli. They have made to order hoagies and sandwiches. Can also just get lunchmeat and rolls here. They have a small selection of premade stuff you can pick up for dinner like pasta and meatballs. We have gotten catering from here a couple times. On my most recent catering order, we got roast beef sandwiches and baked ziti. It was a smooth and stress free experience. The workers were helpful with me getting everything out to my car and the food was delicious. Defintley recommend. read more

Good sandwiches, great prices. Portions are good. Very tasty cheesesteak, rolls are good. Clean restaurant, everyone was nice. I didn't have a lot of time to truly enjoy all they had to offer. Definitely need to get back for more and experience the whole menu. I'll be going back soon read more

There is also a bunch of Italian pantry items including dried pastas, jarred sauces, tomatoes, and olives etc. We tried three sandwiches and a cannoli - everything was very yummy and the sandwiches were LARGE. The spicy meatball was indeed quite spicy and tasty, the Italian was yummy but I should've added something spicy or vinegary, and the Turkey with balsamic was super flavorful! The small cannoli is about thumb sized - which was perfect! There is a small seating area inside, but we took our to go. We went just before noon on a weekday and it wasn't too busy. I will often times grab a Corropolese Tomato Pie as well. Cintrellas has recently completed a beautiful renovation. Expanding into the storefront next door and offering a wider variety of food and treats. With a full menu of hoagies, cheesesteaks, deli meats, cheeses, desserts, catering trays, frozen Italian meals, and many more, this place is the perfect neighborhood deli. To be honest - growing up in DC I never had a chicken cutlet hoagie ( call them subs in DC) until I moved to Philly. I love the - variety of toppings. I ordered cutlet with roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella. Big! Lots of food. More of a style but I like the whole cutlet not chopped. Was a little dry and not sure if I had deli sliced or little mozzarella balls- I could not taste it. I expected big slices from a mozzarella ball. Red peppers were good ( assumed canned) . Bread was fresh but I like the sesame seeded hoagie tools ( forgot the famous local brand) I would rate the taste average - but great value for $11.99. Way too much food for 1 person. Sharing is caring I gave the other half to a family member. I will try a different sub next time. My foodie voice in me wishes for better bread and not so overcooked cutlets and whole cutlets. The store was rebuilt after a fire- super clean and lots of pre- made refrigerated choices. Great prices for a large family. The counter attendants are friendly and felt welcomed. I've ordered their hoagie party box for a birthday party and it was a perfect variety and yummy. I highly recommend the box. They also had Italian pasta, antipasti, snacks cheese etc. all looked tempting to buy. I'll spend more time next time shopping. It was tasty. It was $11.12. You know I love all of those things. The ladies were amazing and sassy! Traveling During COVID 19 In NY where I'm from, we call 'em 'heroes." Apparently in Pennsylvania you ask for a hoagie or grinder. Whatever you call your sandwich, Centrella's does a stellar job. Ranging in price from $7.99 to $8.99 you can get a full sandwich on crisp Italian bread ... and what we ordered (too much to eat in one sitting) was great: genoa salami and provolone, the Deluxe Italian (pepper ham, sharp provolone, genoa salami, prosciutto) and me bringing up the rear with roast beef. Centrella's offers prepared food, salads, breakfast sandwiches, dinner specials and Italian grocery items. Walking in at an off hour there were more customers than expected, everyone wearing masks and respectfully spaced out. Centrella's thrives on its takeout business, but I noticed one table in the middle of the store for those wanting to eat in. Definitely a deli I'll come back to! read more

I came here for the first time, and unfortunately they got my order wrong. I ordered a superior Italian (which she repeated back to me), then gave me a regular Italian. I wanted cherry peppers, she said they only had banana peppers, and I said ok. The sandwich did not have banana peppers. Frozen section has sauces, meatballs, lasagna, etc, lots of cured meats, pastas, canned Cento items, and all kinds of sliced deli meats. And sweets too!
