Very nice to have a local restaurant like this, which based on desserts with a giant sparkler being served is a special occasion outpost for sure. Very busy house on a Saturday night and oddly but graciously quieter than many steakhouse environs. Service is good, as should be expected with this type of "pricier" option. If nitpicking, a side dish of Brussels sprouts delivered later than all entrees. Plates for "finished" diners cleared before all diners were through, which is understandable but not practiced in some higher end places. Steaks are truly cooked to requested temperatures, medium, medium rare, perfect and not as common as portrayed. The octopus appetizer is really well done. The halibut special was presented nicely and was delicate and flavorful all at once. My friends and I enjoyed Social Hour (Happy Hour) at DePaul's on a cold Sunday evening. We were seated right away at a booth next to the bar. Social Hour was nearing the end, so our server, Rebecca made sure we ordered what we wanted in enough time. We ordered drinks and several appetizers. Everything was so delicious. The Lobster Guacamole, Filet Kona Tips, White Truffle Parmesan Fries, Custom Blend Meatballs, and the Crispy Buffalo Shrimp. DePaul's feels cozy and warm as soon as you walk in. The service is great. I love that they have a coat room, especially in the winter. There's a huge bar with plenty of seating around it. Several booths in the bar area and many tables in the dining areas. We had amazing back to back items for my fiancé's birthday last weekend. From the beginning, I knew it was going to be lovely. The staff placed a birthday sign at our table thanking us for choosing them for our special occasion. It was such a thoughtful touch that I haven't seen anywhere else before. We were also seated at our exact reservation time and didn't wait a minute longer. Our server was also 10/10. I don't remember her name, but she was awesome with providing recommendations and also giving us a full rundown (by memory!) of the specials. I ordered the seasonal sangria - it wasn't my favorite sangria because it wasn't very sweet, but it was good. It had hints of fall flavors which I appreciated. Our choice of appetizer was the roasted cauliflower. It had a smoky flavor and was crunchy and crispy. Completely satisfying and perfect with the dipping sauce on the side. I shared garlic spinach with my fiancé and it was perfect for sharing. We still had some leftover, but it had the right amount of garlic and didn't make you feel like you needed to brush your teeth afterwards. My sesame crusted ahi tuna was phenomenal. Cooked medium. The crispy rice underneath set it off just right. The portion sizes here are generous. I was stuffed after our meal. I didn't snag a picture of the New York cheesecake but it was so decadent and tasty. We prefer cheesecakes on the creamier side (versus dense) and this checked all the boxes. First off, the location was super easy to find and they've got on-site valet, which made things smooth from the jump. We were seated right away--no wait, no hassle. The vibe inside? Classy but not stuffy. Perfect lighting, stylish decor, and just the right energy for a date night. Felt like the kind of spot you go to when you want to enjoy yourself and still keep it grown and elevated. My significant other and I celebrated our anniversary at Depaul's Table, and it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The ambiance was beautiful--elegant and intimate, perfect for a special night out. The service was incredibly attentive without being overbearing, which made us feel truly taken care of throughout the evening. We started with the creamed spinach served with pita--hands down one of the best I've ever had. It had a perfect balance of cheese and creaminess without being too heavy, and the pita was a great touch for dipping into the spinach itself. For the main course, I had the dry-aged steak salad. The greens were fresh and crisp, the steak was cooked medium rare exactly as I asked (perfectly tender and seasoned), and the vinaigrette added just the right amount of zest to tie everything together. To end the night, we indulged in the brownie sundae--rich, deep chocolate flavor with chocolate chips, paired with creamy vanilla bean ice cream and fluffy whipped cream. DePauls table is awesome! Went for the first time yesterday I was not disappointed in the slightest. I got the autumn mule and it was so delicious! The atmosphere inside is upscale, yet approachable. I was within walking distance of the restaurant but it's a nice little add on that they have complimentary valet. The Kona Crusted Filet Tips appetizer are to die for. For my main course I got the lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection. Exactly what I asked for. Highly recommend the lamb if you are unsure what else to get. DePaul's Table has a nice atmosphere, but if you're looking for a romantic dinner date, I wouldn't recommend it. The tables are pretty close together, so it doesn't feel very intimate--more of a lively, social setting than a cozy one. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, and I have to say, I wouldn't order them again. They were completely overloaded with hollandaise, which overpowered everything else. It was just too much. For my entrée, I had the dry-aged steak salad, which I did enjoy--the steak was cooked well, and the flavors were good. Luke and Glen were the tag team of a lifetime. They not only served a very happy "birthday night out" for us, they also assisted a table of 10 rowdy executive types across from the way. They ordered what seemed like the ENTIRE restaurant. With that said, the tag team did not skip a beat. every table the served above and beyond, including ours. Dinner was lovely, (although I should seriously stop ordering calamari anywhere. It's always so oily). Not their fault, I just set my expectations too high. The drinks were spot on! Glenn with 2 "N"'s was amazing. He had really good recommendations on food and was attentive. The Prosecco was crisp, bone marrow wasn't bad but it wasn't the best I've had by far. I ordered my steak Oscar style and it was to die for. Edit: I was invited to return by the owner and his wife and the experience did not miss. Kevin and Jordan were a great duo although she was in training she seemed to catch on quick and jump right in to providing excellent service. For appetizers we had oysters Rockefeller and bone marrow... I know I said the bone marrow wasn't the greatest but in my opinion I just don't like what it's accompanied with. We decided to use the bread for the table to spread the bone marrow and it was the best choice we made because we genuinely got to enjoy all of the flavors in the bone marrow. Oysters Rockefeller are of the best I've had in any restaurant and I don't know why I didn't get them the last time when I love them so much. I had the surf and turf and she had the Delmonico. Kind of disappointed unfortunately. When we first came in, I was surprised they put out a little happy birthday sign for my boyfriend- very very sweet. I had called on my way to make sure they remembered it was his birthday and to specifically bring carrot cake- his favorite. So we had ordered drinks. I ordered sangria and it was actually bad. No flavor whatsoever. Appetizers- the cheesesteak egg rolls and the candied bacon was amazing. That's kind of where it began and ended though. My boyfriend got the crab cakes with the apple slaw- no apple to be found. And the crab cakes were okay. I ordered the Delmonico steak Oscar style and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. I felt bad complaining but it was really bad. We noticed the other birthdays were getting sparklers and it looked so fun- so I was excited for my boyfriend to receive that with his surprise carrot cake. Well. Wonderful ambiance and decor built in from the Bercy, a brasserie that pre-dated DePaul's table. The restaurant is built from the Bryn Mawr Trust bank from many years ago. This is certainly a special occasion scene, great for anniversaries, birthdays, and celebrations, as the service, menu, and atmosphere is exactly how you'd imagine it to be for your special day. He recommended dry-aged Delmonico steak and brussel sprouts as appetizers. He was absolutely right. I ordered both of them and they are outstanding. Brussel sprouts were charred but not bitter. It was served with hot peppers so it has some kick to it. I asked for a medium rare steak and it was the way I liked. It's huge with big and crunchy onion rings on top. Highly recommended. Dessert: he recommended crème brûlée and brownie sundae. I wanted to be a bit " healthy " so I picked carrot cake The carrot cake had thin icing so it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. It's ok. This is truly an amazing happy hour! The martinis, wine, and beer are all on happy hour. I tried a delicious cosmo and the house red (Cabernet). Next time I'm going to try the apple martini. The food options are even better than the drink options. The cheesesteak spring rolls are so good that we had 2 orders. The white truffle fries and steak tacos were also good. A good restaurant however the valet parking is a concern. It takes up an entire lane of traffic that is exiting to a major thoroughfare and backing up an already congested area. Two of us order steaks that were more cooked than we requested. Our waitress was great. The rest of the staff kind of sketchy. Having dined in every restaurant that moved into the former First Pennsylvania Bank building in Ardmore, I can affirm that DePauls Table is without a doubt the very, very best. The food is excellent, and the servings are bounteous. My husband ordered seabass amd haricots verts, which he said were delicous. I chose an eclectic selection: meat balls ( Kobe beef); garlic mashed potatoes; and roasted brussels sprouts--delectable. The wine menu was staggering, and whatever it was we chose, tasted great. Our waitperson, Grace, was the best 'accompaniment' of all! She was solicitous, but never hovering; attentive, but never patronising ...Just the best. (Thanks, Gracie, for making our dinner even merrier.) DePaul's ambiance is lovely. Soft lighting ( but not so soft as to require a phone light to read the menu); comfortable banquette chairs; a gorgeous carpet ( an earlier restaurant here had a tile floor which echoed and accentuated every single footfall); and a decor that blends woody accents with warm, candle-like lights. This was our first visit to DePaul's Table. We were celebrating our anniversary and the service and pace was just what we were looking for. We had a nice two top table at the top of the stairs that was more private. We started with the Philadelphia cheesesteak eggrolls which were delicious and made in house. My husband ordered one of the specials Short Rib over mashed potatoes. I got the filet with Kona rub and we shared broccoli and a baked potato. We both loved our entrees and sides. Our server Josh was very attentive and struck the right balance of checking in but also leaving us to ourselves. He was great! We shared the crème brûlée for desert. Came in over the weekend for my dad's birthday and it was not bad! It's a much larger and nicer space inside than I expected from the exterior. It's dim, though, so if you've got difficulty reading small print on menus, you might need your phone flashlight! The service was a tiny bit slow. It took our food a while to come out, and they'd forgotten about the clams we ordered as a starter, so those didn't come out until after our entrees, and to be honest, they were fine but nothing to write home about. But my mom loved her salmon Oscar with crab meat on top. The seafood was fresh and tender. Garlic spinach, brussel sprouts, and garlic mashed potatoes were great sides. I enjoyed my scallops, although for $37, all you get are the scallops, so the sides are a must. My dad's surf n turf had fine surf, but the turf was too dry. Husband's salad was good, as was my brother's ravioli. It was nice that they brought my dad's birthday cake with a huge sparkler, and after helped cut up the cake to serve. This place rivals any NYC steakhouse we've been to. We moved to West Chester from NYC two years ago, and we've yet to find a true NYC style steak house... this is it. This was our first dinner out as new parents with our 3 month old baby and we were anxious at first. The entire staff was so incredibly friendly and made us feel very comfortable, gushing over our daughter. Even when our baby was crying and I was walking her up and down the hall, they did not mind at all and the sweet hostess immediately came up to me to see if I needed anything. My friend and I use to enjoy DePaul's to grab a quick drink and bite at the bar but we went last weekend and our experience wasn't that great. I can't judge the dining area but only the bar. The bar smells like mildew but covered with Fabuloso. It's smell like this the last time we went as well. Food is ok, but overpriced. I don't trust it now since I'm unsure if they keep their bar area clean. Service is ok, there's one bartender that can make a really good sangria, while the others are not so good. read more

Well imagine my excitement when I learned that a friend of mine is having a 40th birthday party here I was so excited! We went on a Sunday and I'm used to seeing people outside working the valet. Once inside we went straight to the bar to wait for the rest of the party and I ordered a strawberry jalapeño margarita. It tasted just like it sounds - Spicy! But not in a bad way, it was delish! For an appetizer I had cheesesteak egg rolls, and they were okay. My entrée was the NY steak strip 14 oz with broccoli and mashed potatoes. My friend ordered the Tomahawk steak, his mom ordered king crab legs and they had clams and oysters. We all agreed that our food was good, amazing even. However, the reason for the 3 stars was because the service was very poor. It was a pretty big party of close to 30 people. They had 1 waiter serving us. Unfair to us and the poor server who did his best. Poor planning on the restaurant for not being properly staff to host a huge party. This is Ardmore's Best Kept Secret. You do not need to go into Center City to get an amazing steak. I went for the first time with my sorority sisters and the food was amazing. So amazing that I went back 2 weeks later for date night with my boyfriend. We ordered cocktails that were so tasty. I ordered the pomegranate martini and my BF ordered the cedar plank smoke old fashioned. If you are looking for a sweet yet strong drink, the pomegranate martini is for you. For appetizers we ordered the French onion soup and the oyster Rockefeller. Both were great. For dinner we shared the 28 day dry-aged Delmonico steak. It was seasoned to perfection with 4 perfectly fried giant onion rings on top. We also had a side of seafood Mac & cheese, which comes with a nice amount of lump crab and lobster. Came here for dinner on my birthday. I haven't been in the building since it was primavera pizza kitchen which I think was a couple restaurants ago. They really decorated nice in here and made the ambiance amazing. We started with sharing a Caesar salad, it was delicious and huge. Plenty for the two of us to share. For a cocktail I ordered the blood orange margarita which I really enjoyed. For dinner, we both ordered filets and lobster tails and got an order of seafood Mac and cheese. The filets were good but mine was a bit over cooked which is disappointing at a steakhouse. The lobster tails were great. The seafood mac and cheese was amazing and definitely better than Fleming's lobster Mac and cheese. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they did bring us out a cute little fruit and whipped cream thing since it was my birthday. Our waitress and the service was great. The three rating is based solely on the hostess interaction. Upon arrival we were 5 minutes off our 7:30 pm reservation. The hostess stated they were busting our table and would take 10 to 15 minutes. It took actually 25 mins before being seated. My concern with the hostess is she took a family of three ahead of us and then wanted us to sit in the bar area. When I refused, she said well, it will be another 10 minute wait. My waitress was a five star and made the whole dining experience wonderful. Kudos to her for just being great. What confirmed my feeling the hostess bypassed us for the other family is, the manager never spoke with me and my daughter as she did others in the dining area. The hostess and the manager need to be retrained on how to be better at managing in flow of people. Food great but red flag on them two employees. read more

So one caveat I didn't have a steak so I didn't measure this place's most important feature. I went on a week night and while there were plenty of empty of tables there were plenty of customers, which was reassuring in the sense that I fear for any resto in this somewhat cursed location. Ambience is fine or better than fine, I was pleased most of the previous' resto's decor appears to have been preserved (it was a brasserie). I had the octopus (so-so), lobster Cobb salad (fine) and tuna tartar (I particularly liked this despite its being the stereotyped tuna-with-avocado mush). My companion had lobster ravioli which she enjoyed very much. I also had a Vesper martini, which was sufficiently narcotic. I had the impression of great care's being taken with everything in the kitchen. This was just an impression. The parking lot opposite is blocked off, so one has to use the public parking lots, street, or valet, nevertheless parking is really a draw here, as is the lack of the Center City crush and crowd. I didn't grant a fifth star because I didn't try more of the typical steakhouse menu. It had a lengthy list of appetizers and salads (a plus if you don't want to pig out on beef). If I return I will adjust my review if I discern additional beauties. But I am not sure what a steakhouse would have to do to earn five stars, presumably something distinctive. As it is, this is a major resto that is a wonderful option for any sort of date or appointment and I will definitely be returning, if only for a drink. read more

From their amazing happy hour specials ( blackened shrimp, changing upscale street tacos beef tenderloin bits/mushrooms, seared tuna, and more..) to their aged butcher cut steaks, fresh seafood, and ample sides. Came with a large group for New Years Eve- from the initial emails back and forth with Tina who was so kind and accommodating to the amazing service by our server Josh- cannot say enough good things! The food was amazing! Everyone loved every single thing we ordered. We had a group of 11 and everyone who ordered a steak said it was not only the best steak they've had but all were cooked to perfection. All apps were amazing- highlights the seafood Mac, Burrata, wedge salad, candied bacon and meatballs. Drinks were all delicious. The ambiance is also amazing- you get the city steakhouse feel without the commute in and honestly would say DePauls is better than any steakhouse I've been to downtown.
