My parents come here periodically, and I'd been trying to join them on one of my visits back home, but on a couple occasions we couldn't get reservations, and then the third time, we got one but it turned out they were going to be closed that week for a post New Year's vacation. Fast forward to this latest visit home. I finally secured a reservation...but then late yesterday afternoon my mom's knee started acting up to the point where she could barely stand on it. Fortunately, ice, Advil and rest overnight--and my mom really, really wanting to come here--kept us on track, and tonight I finally made it. It's a cozy spot, and I can see it making an excellent date night, especially since the BYOB setup allows you to bring the wine of your choice (and save some $$). We were seated promptly--this Sunday was relatively mellow--and the servers were super accommodating about removing a chair so that my mom's walker could occupy the unused space on our four-top. The menu is what I call right-sized. It may seem smallish, but there is a strategic assortment of salads and apps, pastas and mains (and, of course, desserts) that is sure to accommodate everyone. Dean, the young man who would go on to do an outstanding job taking care of us for the night (with the other two servers chipping in seamlessly as needed), went through the specials. My mom was particularly intrigued by a squid-ink fettucine with lobster and shrimp (and cherry tomatoes) in a saffron cream sauce. Could we split it as an app, we asked? Would it be too much food? On Dean's advice, we went ahead, while my dad got the mussels. All three of us ordered the pork chop, which my parents have been raving about for a couple years now. How could I not try it? Ordering finished, bread and olive oil (with a bit of balsamic) arrived at the table. Knowing I had a pasta coming and that the pork chop was a good-sized portion, I didn't want to overdo it, which I think was ultimately a good choice. The bread took the edge off, and then the pasta arrived. It was just the right amount for two people to share as an app, and we both enjoyed it, while my dad loved his mussels (and then dunked lots of his bread in it). Then came the main event. The pork chop lived up to (and frankly, exceeded) the hype. It was tender and perfectly cooked and oh-so-flavorful. Definitely one of the best I've ever eaten, and this isn't my first pork-chop rodeo. It was accompanied by asparagus and yummy baby Yukon Gold potatoes; I left a view of the latter, not because they weren't yummy but rather because the pork chop was huge and I was not skipping dessert. For dessert, I went with the house-made cannoli, which was a lovely, sweet (but not oversweet) ending to an excellent meal. I'd be happy to come back to Burrata anytime. read more

Walked in on a Saturday night around 6, they were able to accommodate a table of 2 for us. The restaurant is small and was loud but the food made up for it. So did the service. The waiters were very attentive. The menu was limited but has something for everyone. I went with the Chicken Parmiginia. The sauce was flavorful and delicious. The chicken was so tender and the portion size was just right. Not overwhelming at all. My wife had the squid ink pasta in a white wine and garlic sauce with crab meat. She didn't leave a morsel. We were amazed at how good our food was and why we hadn't dine here before. We split a mixed greens salad which was also delicious with apples. Topped it off with Strawberry Gelato and Limoncello cake. We had a great date night and can't wait to go back. Very reasonably priced and also a BYOB. My girlfriends and I called for a last minute reservation for 6, 5 minutes before the time we requested due to an issue with our previous reservation elsewhere. They gladly took us in at 8pm on a Tuesday night. The wait staff was incredibly kind and attentive. They had great recommendations and accommodated their specials to meet our party size for the appetizer. The food is well portioned for an appetizer and entree without feeling overly forced but absolutely mouth watering and savory. I wish I took pictures, because everything was so wonderful. 2 hours later, and our chatty group was still going but starting to lessen. The waiter reassured us to take our time and that there was no rush. Mom's night out was the perfect night I could ask for. I cannot wait to dine in again and truly feel welcomed and satisfied. It was a good combination of sweet and savory. Just keep in mind, this is a cold dish. It goes very well with the warm complementary bread that they give. (5/5) The lobster ravioli was my favorite of the night. Al dente pasta. This is a fishy dish, but surprisingly it's not overwhelming. You'll just get a hint of it. 5/5. I've come in a handful of times here with the in-laws, this is one of their favorite restaurants when they visit. It's a BYOB however they don't drink so usually just a bottle of red for wifey and I to split. The menu has many classic Italian dishes and they don't disappoint. Prices are a touch high but nothing too crazy. Their desserts are really stellar so save some room if you can! They have some outdoor seating off the side which is nice if local drivers can stay off their horns. read more

Very small cute place in Havertown. We had been wanting to try it for a long time now. It's BYOB The menu is not large but they have several specials most nights. We had a party of 8 and nine of us were disappointed. The Caesar salad was excellent. Fresh and crisp. Lightly dressed with a flavorful dressing and a perfect amount of cheese. First the men all had the pork chop. Double thick bone in presentation. With potatoes and asparagus. As recommended it was excellent. The parpadelle with boar ragu was also a hit. Pasta cooked excellent and a nice tangy sense to the sauce. I usually like my pasta over cooked but you could tell this was a quality ingredient as it was perfect. Burrata is a cute little place is Havertown that is easy to miss but well worth the visit. They keep reservations so normally you have to book reservations further in advance than you might expect. The ambiance is really lovely, with appropriate music and volume for a nice dinner date where you can talk to each other. The staff were all super attentive and friendly and even wiped the crumbs between courses. The menu is quite small, but so many things looked good. We brought our own bottle of wine as they are BYOB. The food was great. We started with the namesake, a Burrata dish with meat on the side. This was really exceptional. We followed with the two specials as our main course. I had the ahi tuna, which was delicious and rare with a nicely seasoned crust. My wife had a special pasta with crab meat that was very generous with the crab. Very good. We had a very nice dinner here. We started with the mussels appetizer. They were excellent. We were dipping the bread that they provide in the sauce it was delicious. For dinner, I got the spaghetti bolognese special. It was really very good. Everyone enjoyed their food. It is nice that can you bring your own alcohol and we sat outside which made it extra special. Overall very good food, and even better service. As others have said the indoor space can get noisy, but still overall it doesn't make the experience unpleasant. I did have a small issue with the octopus appetizer the other night. For the most part it was tender and very tasty. However the ("shoulder?") top section was significantly undercooked. We went to Burrata with some friends and had a really wonderful dinner. It was very crowded and rather noisy but the food was excellent. The wild boar ragu with pappardelle was one of the most incredible pasta dishes I've had in a very long time. I wanted to lick my plate to get all the sauce but that would have been, ahem, a little rude. I got the red and gold beet salad that came with arugula, pistachios, and goat cheese and thought it was terrific. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal tremendously and I will definitely go back - the challenge will be whether I will try anything else on the menu or just go back for the wild boar pappardelle again! read more

Came here for the the first time recently for dinner. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The outdoor seating was great. The menu here isn't too big but a lot of good options. We were given delicious bread to start. For an appetizer, we ordered the mussels which were amazing. They came in a red sauce and were so tender and flavorful. For my entree, I had the lobster ravioli. It was great. My husband had the scallops. I tried it and thought it was really good. The scallops were nicely seared. But, for $26 dollars I wish they would provide more than 3 scallops. For dessert, I had the homemade cannoli. Also amazing. Must order that if you get dessert from here. What an absolute disappointment!! We ordered the Seafood Stufato, the Burrata, the Gnochhi pasta and the fingerling potatoes. Not one of these dishes was at all memorable. Basic food and overpriced at that. The calamari was chewy, the potatoes had zero flavor (not even salt or pepper), and the pasta was nothing to write home about. We were hoping for some tasty grub and were sadly disappointed. The service was ok except for a young gentleman that kept showing up to pick up plates full of food while we were still clearly working through our meal. We love the south Philly location so when we were in Havertown, my husband and I had to try this Burrata location! The service was very slow with large wait times between courses, but the wait staff was kind, friendly, and continuously checking on us so it wasn't a huge deal. My main reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the pasta courses. We got the ricotta cavatelli which was in a white wine garlic sauce, unfortunately the sauce lacked a lot of flavor and was kind of greasy. The other pasta was wild boar ragu! The ragu sauce was exceptional, but could have done with some more meat. The pasta was all cooked and made well, just little things. The seafood stufato had only 3 shrimp and few pieces of calamari. The sauce was great, but if your portion is going to be that small a large bowl just makes it look like I didn't get a full portion. The real hero of the night was the lamb shank special! It was falling off the bone and definitely worth the wait! And the burrata of course was on point! I would come again to try more dishes! read more

In town for business so of course I go to Yelp to find a recommended Italian restaurant. I called to see if there was any availability and unfortunately they did not. They called me back five minutes later and said they had a cancellation and asked if I wanted to come in! Of course I did! Service continued to be amazing. Waiters were very attentive and helpful. A really enjoyable dinner. Shared the octopus appetizer and an artichoke appetizer. The octopus is a generous portion that is succulent, slightly smoky and extremely tender with an olive oil basting that moves the meat toward silky. The artichoke is cooked to an al dente consistency with a light oil and lemon sauce. A hint of anchovies add a salty back drop. Enjoyed a buttery but light Dover Sole filleted table side yielding 4 small pillows of meat free of bones. Served with a small cache of roasted new potatoes and a garlicky kale. Also enjoyed a squid ink pasta with a small mountain of crab meat. The fresh pasta contrasts perfectly with the sweet crab.
