    Gnocchi and sauce
    Erin B.

We found Lucas Cucina by accident but what an amazing accident it was!!! This food is DELICIOUS! It is what I imagine eating at your Italian Grandmas house would be like. We ordered simple plates, spaghetti and meatballs, the barata salad and gnocchi! And Baby, the sauce is perfection, the gnocchi is like buttery soft and perfect with the sauce! Oh but these meatballs were my favorite and I'm a picky eater lol. And the owners are the sweetest most kindest people. It is take out only but I promise you will not be disappointed.

If your craving Italian--give this place a try! Old world flavors sure to satisfy the pickiest of palates I.e. me! The chicken pesto panini was one of the best had in these parts, the raviolis were light and airy sautéed in a sage brown butter sauce. The pasta was very good although a bit over sauced but I won't hold that against them. The Burrata salad is perfect for sharing. Good to know: homemade pastas are locally sourced--even the gluten free. Allow at least 60 minutes to freshly prepare your meal. Finally, for the moment, this is take out only.

So let me start with this......if you haven't been to Luca's then you're simply doing life wrong. This little single room cookery has been producing the best REAL Italian dishes in Delco hands down, and has been doing so for the last year now. You don't have to listen to all the amazing reasons I'm going to list on why this should be the next place you stop for dinner, do yourself a favor and just go there and check them out and I can guarantee you'll be returning week after week for some of the most amazing food, made from scratch, that you've had in the area. Before I even get to the food and the perfection that Luca brings to his craft, I have to talk about the place and the people. Luca and his wife Stefania run this cute little corner pickup spot and are some of the most genuine and wonderful people you will ever meet. They actually care about what you have to say, are interested in what's going on, and providing you the best Italian meal you can get. This isn't your standard pizza shop or what you would see at a classic Italian-American eatery that you find in bulk in south Philly or the bland type of chains you can find just about anywhere else. In fact, they don't even serve pizza! It has perfectly flavored and prepared classics and other dishes you may have never experienced, all made by hand, just like you would get direct from Italy itself. You will also find your popular staples, but they are not an afterthought and can stand up right next to featured dishes like Luca's individually roasted and perfectly finished ossobuco. The only detractor is the limited hours, but after trying the food and experiencing the care and precision that goes into everything produced here, it's easy to forget that the entire operation is run by two normal human beings who have their own lives outside of the kitchen too, so being open for dinner only five days a week is perfect if you ask me! On to the food! I have waited to write my review here because after coming the first time I knew I would be coming back and wanted to give a full assessment after multiple experiences. The positive part of this is that every time I have come back I only fall in love more and more, and that is a rarity for me with restaurants. Usually I'm on to a new place to try something different and exciting, but not with Luca's. It's perfection through and through and continues to impress me even after ordering some things more than once. I am still currently working my way through the entirety of the menu. So far my current favorites are the romaine hearts grilled and the chicken piccata, but there is something for everyone. Most recently, we ordered for the whole family and I had one of my favorites to start, the romanella grigliata. Charred just around the edges to wilt, but perfectly crisp and then topped with a Caesar dressing from scratch and olive oil, it's so insanely good, sometimes I'll simply just order this! This time we happened to get a side as well, which is something that doesn't usually happen when we order anywhere, but I was very excited to have picked the escarole and beans. Maybe because I love both escarole and beans, or maybe because they were perfectly soft and yet just firm enough to have a bit of bite to them, seasoned just enough to have some flavor of what I think was broth, but preserve the amazingly delicious natural flavors of the greens and the beans. It was also very hearty and could honestly also be a meal all on its own. I then followed it up with the penne melanzane, bringing it together with yet another vegetable-centric dish. I am very critical of eggplant cooked in any form, because done correctly it can be godly, but done wrong can be just completely dismal. I'm happy to say this is the latter and sits easily within the angelic food pantheon with the perfectly cooked eggplant enmeshed in a bed of perfectly sauced penne, rounding out one of the best of many meals I have ordered from here in the short time I have known of this magical place. Nothing is oversauced, all the flavors are perfectly melded and you can tell that they both love into everything they do and you can even just come in and talk to Stefania and Luca from the counter and hang out while everything is prepared. There is such a sense of family, you really feel at home the minute you call or step inside. They can even take care of catering your events, and boy, you should have them handle those too, because all the wonderful care and quality put into their dinners is present in everything they put into an event as well. My point is, go here. Now. If you don't like it, chances are you're wrong somehow.

Brand new business in Morton, PA. Everything is homemade. Closest to Italy you're going to get in Delco. The gnocchi were little clouds of heaven! Everything is delicious and the family is personable and accommodating. They also cater.

The food was amazing, owners were super friendly!!! Helped with suggestions since I needed 1 dish to be GF. Chatted about the old times of the town of Morton. Highly suggest.

I waited approximately six minutes before I was escorted to my own event room (the patio). The table was set with the proper amount of place settings. The event room was clean and appeared well maintained. The server, Billy, arrived within two minutes of being seated. He introduced himself and brought menus. He also brought menus with specials. As I was a bit concerned about the standard menu not having enough variety of selections, the specials added items I did like. I had the swordfish special. All food and drink items arrived within a reasonable amount of time. As extra items were needed, they were also brought in a reasonable amount of time. Billy and the rest of the service staff that assisted were attentive, pleasant and friendly. The food was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The prices were reasonable when compared to the quality and portion received. My guests and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend and return. Many of my guests are new fans of this restaurant because of this experience.

When I first stopped in here it was in a whim, and although they do have a selection of whimsical, sweet, dare I say, ridiculous and sweet coffee beverages, they were able to make me a traditional Italian macchiato. I had been unable to find a good, even passable REAL macchiato anywhere, and they delivered in spectacular fashion. Not only was the drink silky, strong, and small, it was made with outstanding Italian roasted espresso that has a different character than the standard, heavier-roasted American palate has come to be used to. This alone would have been enough for me to return time and time again when I was in the area, but after getting breakfast sandwich on a whim, this instantly became a weekly stop; more than that, a destination. Fast forward a few years and the initial attraction of coffee, sandwich, and friendly staff has transformed into a beautiful relationship where I can easily walk in, everyone knows me before I am all the way through the door, and even knowing my idiosyncrasies, are still excited to see me and listen to me prattle on about whatever might be the story of the day. The time spent here has given me the opportunity to try nearly everything on the menu and try every drink available. Including all the dry goods, pasta for sale, frozen trays of delicious Italian staples, and more. I am not one to just stick to the things I know I enjoy as I am always on a journey for something interesting and exciting, so whenever something shows up I am getting that rather than something in my "comfort zone". This has led to me traditionally losing interest or finding that the quality of a place declines for myself over time, especially multiple years. Not the case here at Napoletano, it has only done the exact opposite and gotten much more rewarding and somehow even more delicious and embracing of people and everyone who comes through the door. This brings me to my most recent food adventures into the menu here, the newest additions for the most part, the added amazing hoagie list. I have had two. The first I tried was the Gondolier, which I was enamored with for weeks. I had been there too early to order lunch time and time again, and then FINALLY, one day it was about time for lunch to be available and Michelle, the wonderful woman running the front of house and so much more, was able to get me this sandwich just a bit early. It had it all....outstanding bread, roasted red peppers, seriously premium meats, both standard deli and cured. However, something just missed the mark for me. I couldn't believe it. I don't know what and I don't know why. I was immediately disappointed, likely because I had hyped this up in my head for so long and I have come to expect so much from Napoletano, I simply couldn't believe that this wasn't the best hoagie I had ever enjoyed. That fact has eaten at me for at least a month now, but today that all changed, and is possibly why I finally found my voice to put all my thoughts together an write this after so many years. During my visit to say hello today, I realized it was once again right around the time where I could order sandwiches. I toyed with the thought of the cutlet sandwiches or even the Cuban which is amazing, but after going around and around and around talking to everyone working about this and that, I finally decided on another hoagie; the Sicilian. Kris, another of my favorite people along with Fanny (who was on vacation) helped me inch toward this one based on my description of my whole previous experience, and tbh is sandwich is so interestingly unique. Topped with lemon and orange zest, it doesn't sound like it would work, but once you take your first bite, you begin to examine your entire existence. Why have you never had a specialty Italian hoagie topped with citrus zest??? The question has been running through my head all day since lunch, and I still cannot understand why I haven't been enjoying something like this my entire life. So many years lost of amazing sandwich experiences.....this sandwich was so divine, despite looking slightly barren and strange, that it blew apart my entire disappointment I had been holding since the gondolier. I will absolutely try the other four in the list. I would have anyway, but this definitely took that mission off of life support and put it front and center. There are so many reasons to go to Napoletano. I could spend another thirty paragraphs writing about what is great about this place, the people, the drinks, the space, all of it. But instead of doing that, you should just go here. Even if you're not close, and enjoy!

It was fine but kind of mainstream for me. Their dessert menu was all very straightforward options pretty much. I think the menu has changed a lot from many years ago- my salad was fresh for a Tuesday evening especially. There were a variety of slushie flavors with nice combinations. The quantity would be a little for some, but it was enough for me since it had alcohol and that kept the prices more reasonable. I did not take pictures as I did not want to be rude on this particular occasion. Staff is very friendly and crowd was light but people were still around despite the heavy rain.

My maid of honor had booked a table for 11 people (she had her mothers retirement there with more people mind you) and we were seated on their very large outdoor space but not the patio as stated on the reservation. The restaurant is all pretty open to the course and it appeared there was more "patio" area elsewhere. The hostess brought us to the fire pit depicted in the one photo and placed menus on the fire pit and walked away. We were confused as we thought we were getting a table, after going back up to her she said we could have the table next to it as she did not know and that we had the fire pit as well, which was a plus! The disappointing part was that it was never turned on for us. It took several minutes for a waiter to come over to greet us, and triple that to get our first round of drinks. When drinks were brought there were still 3 missing but were eventually brought out. All of our drinks were in wine glasses which was strange and we did not get wine. Our prosecco had the proper glassware however. The waiter then walked away but we called him back as we wanted to get appetizers. We placed them and off the waiter went. While we sipped and toasted another waiter come over stating they had a glass of champagne for someone at the table which had a piece of fruit on the bottom. I had a bride to be sash on and we assumed someone saw it and had treated me to it. Well 10 minutes later and almost done the drink they came over and said "actually that drink was not meant for this table". Did they expect us to return it? Why even say that to a party? That was not our mishap. How oblivious that I am a bride to be as well? Just very odd. It took forever for our food and drinks even more so. There was a decent crowd but nothing extreme. We all felt like it took forever, not just me, and one of the women works at a very busy and fast paced restaurant and she even agreed. Our server was just okay and did not make the night feel special nor did any staff for that matter. For the food--The peach crostini appetizer was pretty good but everyone could tell they were canned cold peaches on the crostini. Cheesesteak egg rolls were mediocre. I ordered an appetizer for my main which was the tuna poke. That was decent and fresh but could have had more sauce/dressing. No one at the table raved about their food. Once we got our food we never saw our waiter till the end when we were all over it and ready to leave, especially since their live music went from upbeat summer vibes to depressing jazz music. After we were done taking some group pictures and paid we left. Never got a congratulations, come again, nothing. Honestly I am so disappointed which is disheartening as I was excited for the night and the decor/atmosphere, which all that it has going for this place. We ended up going out to another local spot for better music, service, and dancing.
