Chicken Parmigiana

We used to go to Gennaro's weekly when it first opened and we lived close by. We have since moved and it fell off our radar. We chose to go back when meeting friends for dinner. What was I thinking when we stopped going?? The decor was cozy and welcoming. I felt like I was back home. We went on a packed Friday night and were seated right at our reservation time. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We were a fairly large group so it took a minute to decide what we were getting. Our multiple appetizers included the fried calamari, sautéed calamari, and the burrata. They were all good but I am still dreaming about the sautéed calamari. It was tender and melt in your mouth. Do not miss this appetizer when you go. Our main courses included the lasagna, gnocchi, the special risotto, cannelloni, and chicken parmesan. We all enjoyed our meals very much so much so that only one picture was taken. The chicken parmesan was amazing. It was so much that I had it for dinner that night plus 2 additional lunches. We were too full for dessert but will definitely be back.

A friend of mine recommended this spot and I'm so glad she did. I would have drove past this spot. Parking is available in the strip mall. Go early as this place fills up as locals know there is good food in this restaurant. Service was good. We all enjoyed our food. We will definitely be back.

Salmon with risotto what a great looking plate and the food was amazing. Another great meal.

The food is delicious and is served piping Hot!! It's BYOB, which I always forget. It's a great date night spot or dinner with the girls.

It's BYOB but I recommend ordering the fried calamari as an app, and I love the meatballs, chicken piccata, lasagna...

You'll be looking for Maxi's Bar which is located next door and connected via an inside door between the two businesses. I found parking across the street, which was metered! The staff inside was very friendly and helpful. They were passionate about the food and you could tell by the way they described everything to me. The owner was sitting at a table chatting with a couple of old veterans. He was nice and very appreciative for my business. They had a TV inside with the midday news on. The menu had a lot to choose from (burgers, steak sandwiches, chicken, roast beef and meatballs to name a few, but I wanted to see what "THE PORK BOSS" theme on the menu's was all about. I ordered the Hot Hooker at $13.75 - Smoked Hot links (think foot long hot dogs), topped with House pulled pork, mild provolone & bacon, topped with Ghost Pepper BBQ sauce. The sandwich was huge. The bread was fresh, pulled pork was a tad dry, but the bbq sauce made up for it. I would have asked for sharper provolone, but I'm not sure if they had it. The bacon was crispy and the hot links provided a nice kick, but lacked the smoke I was looking for. If they make that BBQ sauce homemade and available for purchase I would be a buyer. Overall it was a huge meaty meal of a 'wich and it held together really well! If I'm in the area I'll return for a second round. The menu is well rounded and the staff knows how to put together a sandwich!

You can take your cheesesteak to Maxi's or you can take your beer to Garibaldi's. It's a big cheesesteak but in the picture you can see that it is dry. Maxi's has beer but they allow smoking. The bartender was awesome. The young woman at Garibaldi's was amazing. She made our cheesesteak on a garlic bread roll.

I have already gone out of my way a few times when I was remotely close to driving near Aston five points intersection. That is how huge of a find this restaurant is. The 1st time in, after reading a few Yelp reviews- and while on a random drive through Aston, I decided to try their pizza and garlic knots. I was absolutely blown away. This is a nice, family run shop and I highly recommend it as a pizza and appetizer connoisseur. If I lived closer, it would be my weekly spot or any time ordering pizza. Bravo, Amores Kitchen family!

I seldomly give 5 stars and this family owned takeout has earned it!!!…read more Being in Philly for a day I really wanted a Philly cheesesteak. I love supporting local mom and pop shops and I'm so happy I found Amores Kitchen. We met Candi (owner), her son Raymond James and her mother. Everyone that works there is family or like family; only those she trusts to serve top quality food that she would. The Philly cheesesteak was amazing!!! I didn't have to go to downtown while the Eagles played and sit in traffic because Amores Kitchen was soooooo good. Candi asked if I wanted my bread toasted or if I liked soft squishy bread. My personal preference for all sandwiches is soft. I got the works and I devoured it! My husband got the chicken parm sandwich and he loved it. Perfectly cooked chicken, melted cheese and perfect amount of sauce on a toasted hoagie roll. My son got wings and they were delicious. We got it with sauce on the side so it isn't a mess to eat. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The French fries, extra crispy with salt and pepper were by far the best fries we've ever had! Only regret is we didn't get more or stop in to get more due to our long drive. The garlic bread is more like garlic strips. Great garlic flavor with butter and herbs, served with a side of their marinara. Their sauce is on the sweeter side which we love. When we make sauce from scratch, we definitely add sugar to balance the acidity so it right up our alley. Candi is the baker there and she makes everything from scratch. They only had chocolate chip cookies available that afternoon. You can taste the homemade love Candi put into it. There's no sit down area. It's a takeout place but there seemed to be many regulars picking up and Candi knew their names. I witnessed it while waiting for our order. It truly is a mom and pop shop and a hidden gem to out of towners looking for places to eat. When I return to the area, this will be my go-to. I've already sent friends over. Candi, I hope to see you again!

Who puts starch on a starch? Anyway, the crab quesadilla is amazing. The chicken cheesesteak will rival the best in the area (Mazzella's is the best, and they don't starch their frozen fries)...the boneless wings aren't as good as The Hideaway, but they're damn good. They could step up their game by upping their Blue Cheese (Two Stones Pub is hands down the best)...and Happy Hour beers remind me of the 80's with their prices. So my official rating after 4 visits in the last 2 months is a VERY Good. To add, their entertainment is a good selection of various styles. I'd like to see a Tues or Weds acoustic Happy Hour.
