Fellini Cafe was one of the only establishments with reservations available for Valentine's Day. We weren't planning on traveling so far from home for dinner, but I'm happy we did! The interior is cozy and welcoming with neutral colored furniture and ambient lighting. When we walked in, we were greeted by what appeared to be the owner who checked us in for our reservation. The tables are a little close together so I can see how it might get cramped if every table is occupied. This wasn't the case tonight, though, as there were empty tables scattered throughout. Plenty of parking in the lot, too. Our waiter took great care of us from start to finish. Super attentive and friendly staff from what I heard and saw at other tables. One thing I would suggest is providing bread for the table. That would've made it a 5 star rating for me. We chose the Mozzarella Caprese as our appetizer and the mozzarella was fresh and firm. I added some salt and pepper to taste. My entree was the gnocchi truffle. The sauce was extremely flavorful and the gnocchi was al dente. The truffle pieces and cheese on top made it a 10/10 meal. We skipped dessert, but each enjoyed an espresso. Everything we ordered got to our table relatively quick, which was unexpected for a "holiday" that is typically busy. Food and service are 10/10 here. I've only been once but Pasta is soo good! I got the gnocchi burrata and it was to die for! It came with tonnnns of burrata too! It hit the spot so good... I came after a 10 mile run with a friend and was in heaven lol. And we got a good heavy portion size. I had leftovers (score!). We got free bread and a refill and loved the olive oil! It was really high quality flavor. My friend also loved her linguini clam. We were seated right away and served quickly! The only thing I want to call out to the business is the lighting .... It is so so bright inside. We came at night and the place was lit up like a summers day. Why? It was super unwelcoming and almost awkward. It felt like I was in a doctors office literally. A very cool bright light. I suggest dimming them and toning down the lighting to give a warm cozy ambiance. read more

Had a very disappointing dining experience here. Service was well below subpar. Almost as soon as I sat down the waitress asked us what we wanted. We were on time for our reservation. One of 2 appetizers my friend and I ordered (the calamari) came out literally less than 2 minutes we ordered it because another table didn't want it or ordered it accidentally. Ok... fine. Never got bread other tables got. Waitress again rushed with what we wanted for entrees and they came out while we were beginning our appetizers. It was bizarre not to give us time to enjoy the appetizers. The waitress never came back to check in on us until she asked if we wanted the check. The vibe of this place was if you're not a regular, you're going to be rushed out and get below subpar service. It's always an absolute pleasure to dine at this wonderful restaurant! The food, the service the atmosphere is wonderful and a joy to experience every time we come here. Kind of love this place out in Newtown Square, PA. Place was exceptional clean and very nice setting. Service was top notch not rushed and order taker and server explained some menu options for us. Settled for the Sam Remo with a little adjustment to the menu item, I had it plated with the roll on the side. It came with a handful of French fries which I normally don't eat but these guy were cooked to perfection and hot. The Sam Remo is like a nicely sliced piece of chick bread and fried with prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, three tick slices and a balsamic glaze. We got some takeout and I was happy with the customer service and taste! The calamari was great (although I wish they had aioli). The pasta and everything else we good was really good as well, I loved the flavor of the meatballs. One other suggestion is for them to have a spaghetti and meatball dish. I ended up getting side meatballs and side pasta; the other option was to get the Sunday Dinner and ask for no sausage but it doesn't seem right to pay the same price when you are not going to get half the entree. read more

This is a small neighborhood Italian red sauce restaurant with a wonderfully attentive & thoughtful matre de and a knowledgeable & friendly staff who could use a little bit of polish though. The environment is bright & lively although cramped. The food is exactly what you would expect from a standard red sauce restaurant but served & flavored well. They did the same with a group of women celebrating a birthday in the back. Will never go again. If you close at 8pm please update your website so your customers' expectations are managed. Love this Italian BYOB in Newtown Square. It's small, so not great for groups, but the food is delicious and the service on point. If you have a group be sure to call in advance and see if they can accommodate you. My favorite is the chicken parm with a side of pasta, but the spaghetti and meatballs is a close second. Plenty of bread and EVOO provided for the table. I'm usually too stuffed for dessert but the coffee hits the spot. read more

We had my mother's birthday dinner here last week. Party of 6, and everyone left super happy with leftovers for days. I'm a big fan of the fried calamari here. It might be some of the best I've had in Delco. It's thick but not overwhelming. It's perfect. And the tortellini bolognese is such a basic dish but so flavorful. Unbelievably it tasted even better when I went for leftovers the next day for dinner. It's on my list for a future visit when I'm in the mood for Delco Italian again. read more

I was there with 3 of my friends last Friday, the food was o.k. Nothing extraordinary. But the prices were a little steep. Maybe the tariff imposed were affecting the seafood as they swim ashore. They had recent renovations done and were recouping the cost. What surprised me was like some shoddy restaurants here they charged me a 4% surcharge on my bill ( even before they knew the mode of payment) and then added tax on that amount . First of all they did not have the courtesy to inform me or post a sign of their intent in the restaurant or on the menu in bold letters. They want to look sophisticated, but their actions did not show. Well I will take my friends and clients to other places where customers are treated well with exquisite food at a reasonable price. read more

Recently ate lunch at Fellini's to find a complete renovation. I believe they are charging more money for their food to help pay for the renovations as my friend and I felt the food servings were sparse, while the prices very high for what we received. My friend ate only an appetizer and I ordered ravioli (only four on the smaller side were served) and I had a small green salad. We drank one small ice tea each. and we split a piece of taramisu. I had a coffee. the bill was $108.00 not counting a tip!!! I thought it too high for the little portions we had. I resentfully added 20% tip! no wonder we were the only people there! Four of us dined at Fellini's last night. Our friend was flying in so we got a 7:30 reservation. All the food was delicious (I got the artichoke appetizer and the branzino and my husband got the chicken/eggplant parm.) However, our server rushed us the enitre time. After chatting for 10 minutes, she said, can we take your order because the kitchen is going to close. They were not trying to turn the table over, maybe they just close early? Or the server had somewhere to be? My husband owns a restaurant in Media and was sensitive to this. At the end, they were moving all the chairs and sweeping under our feet. We got the hint and left. Let's just say this is an Italian restaurant that won't serve pizza after lunch. Their menu on yelp on OpenTable and on foursquare all says pizza on the menu, but when you get there you learn they will not serve pizza after 3 PM. When we asked the waitress if we could still order a pizza anyway, (because they do take out pizza all afternoon and night) she asked the owner who gave us a resounding no. When we asked why his answer was just purely 'because' and told us if we didn't like it we could leave. Enjoyed a nice lunch here today. The decor is very nice and the seating is comfortable. We were seated promptly and our orders were quickly taken. Water glasses were kept full. This is a BYOB. Our food was plentiful and delicious. My Saltimbocca was excellent and the side pasta was perfectly cooked. My wife enjoyed her chicken cutlet sandwich with broccoli rabe. I need to share an experience that I had at this great restaurant, one of our family's favorite. We had placed a pick up order & could not find one of the items. After calling the restaurant they immediately offered to make the dish. On my way to pick up the missing item, my family called me & told me they found it! When i arrived I explained what happened & offered to pay for the dish. The manager refused & gave me the food! Now that is amazing customer service & I thought it was important enough to share! Excellent dinner with the family tonight at Fellini Newtown Square. Very accommodating with making space for my Pop's wheelchair and seating us late. My Veal Parm was INCREDIBLE! My mom enjoyed her Rigatoni with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe. My Pop loved the Linguini Scampi. The shrimp were HUGE and delicious! Bread with dipping oil came out quick with our beverages. Both were refreshed during the course of our meal. Our server, Evan, was new to the position, but was very personable and did a great job with the service. My husband and I split a mista salad -- one portion is ample for two -- and the gratis bruschetta is a great way to start one's meal. Chicken alla Melazan (chicken, fried eggplant, mozzarella and tomato cream sauce) piqued my interest. Very rich, very good! And the chicken piccata was not too shabby! My appetizer was the bruschetta and the tomatoes weren't cut fresh, the bread was overly toasted that it was basically hard to eat because of the amount of dryness. My pasta entrée I asked if there was arrabbiata pasta which is a spicy tomato sauce pasta that was overly spicy that I couldn't finish it all. I would've if the spiciness level was a bit reduced, for my pasta it wasn't freshly homemade which feels like a disappointment since they feature Italian food in their menu. read more

You cannot beat Fellini's... We had dinner there last night and it was awesome, as usual. Couple the food ( dinner portions are enough for two people or to take home for next day) with Fellini's being a BYO, and Fellini's cannot be compared ( we love Manny's West Chester location too, but Newtown Square is a shorter drive) ... The specials which Tina, our server read to us were great. I had the fish of the day, pictured below. Our group of eight also enjoyed the artichoke and calamari apps, as well as the seafood with linguine, the eggplant parmigiana and other house specials. The restaurant is very small, so reservations are a good idea. It is currently open for inside dining, and Patrizio, the animated manager, makes it an experience to remember!
