    Burrata appetizer
    Saul B.

What a gem of a restaurant! The food was outstanding! One of the best meals I've had in years. The Burrata is a must have appetizer. The duck was delicious and perfectly done medium-rare. The warm homemade bread was great for making sure none of the juice was left on my plate. Service and atmosphere were also very nice. We will definitely be going back to Ombra!

The space may look plain from the outside, but once inside, you're met with the comforting hum of conversation and the scent of fresh pasta and the hustle of a wait staff staying on top of things at this newly opened eatery. Holding firm to many classics the menu is a variety of traditional appetizers like beef carpaccio and crispy calamari with the bite of chopped cherry peppers and marinara. Both executed wonderfully. The basket of seeded bread is a welcome accompaniment as is the ceramic oil vessel for dipping. Rigatoni with veal sausage, ample and Al dente. The pappardelle is a tomato base egg noodle with short rib, perfect for a cold fall night. Finished with cappuccino and espresso with complimentary limoncello rounds out a fun evening. For a new service, the hustle and focus keeps things moving and sets an expectation that tables will turn faster as the staff gets their legs.

Great staff! Everything was amazing. Food, drink and service! Thank you! Julian and Elvis are making huge strides!

Woah! This new Italian BYOB surprised me (among a crowded lineup around here) and is charming with brilliant renditions of modern Italian classics. For those who complain that it's hard to find good restaurants in the burbs, look not further than this gem. Nice cosy, renovated space with great food and friendly authentic staff. The wait is finally over and I'm so happy this place did not disappoint, but exceeded expectations. Will definitely be back again

We had a wonderful dining experience; the service and food were exceptional. The interior is beautiful. We sample several dishes, but the ones that truly impressed us were the beet salad, the beef carpaccio, the gnudi, and the branzino. I can't wait to return for more.

My parents come here periodically, and I'd been trying to join them on one of my visits back home,…read morebut on a couple occasions we couldn't get reservations, and then the third time, we got one but it turned out they were going to be closed that week for a post New Year's vacation. Fast forward to this latest visit home. I finally secured a reservation...but then late yesterday afternoon my mom's knee started acting up to the point where she could barely stand on it. Fortunately, ice, Advil and rest overnight--and my mom really, really wanting to come here--kept us on track, and tonight I finally made it. It's a cozy spot, and I can see it making an excellent date night, especially since the BYOB setup allows you to bring the wine of your choice (and save some $$). We were seated promptly--this Sunday was relatively mellow--and the servers were super accommodating about removing a chair so that my mom's walker could occupy the unused space on our four-top. The menu is what I call right-sized. It may seem smallish, but there is a strategic assortment of salads and apps, pastas and mains (and, of course, desserts) that is sure to accommodate everyone. Dean, the young man who would go on to do an outstanding job taking care of us for the night (with the other two servers chipping in seamlessly as needed), went through the specials. My mom was particularly intrigued by a squid-ink fettucine with lobster and shrimp (and cherry tomatoes) in a saffron cream sauce. Could we split it as an app, we asked? Would it be too much food? On Dean's advice, we went ahead, while my dad got the mussels. All three of us ordered the pork chop, which my parents have been raving about for a couple years now. How could I not try it? Ordering finished, bread and olive oil (with a bit of balsamic) arrived at the table. Knowing I had a pasta coming and that the pork chop was a good-sized portion, I didn't want to overdo it, which I think was ultimately a good choice. The bread took the edge off, and then the pasta arrived. It was just the right amount for two people to share as an app, and we both enjoyed it, while my dad loved his mussels (and then dunked lots of his bread in it). Then came the main event. The pork chop lived up to (and frankly, exceeded) the hype. It was tender and perfectly cooked and oh-so-flavorful. Definitely one of the best I've ever eaten, and this isn't my first pork-chop rodeo. It was accompanied by asparagus and yummy baby Yukon Gold potatoes; I left a view of the latter, not because they weren't yummy but rather because the pork chop was huge and I was not skipping dessert. For dessert, I went with the house-made cannoli, which was a lovely, sweet (but not oversweet) ending to an excellent meal. I'd be happy to come back to Burrata anytime.

The waiters were very attentive. The menu was limited but has something for everyone. I went with the Chicken Parmiginia. The sauce was flavorful and delicious. The chicken was so tender and the portion size was just right. Not overwhelming at all. My wife had the squid ink pasta in a white wine and garlic sauce with crab meat. She didn't leave a morsel. We were amazed at how good our food was and why we hadn't dine here before. We split a mixed greens salad which was also delicious with apples. Topped it off with Strawberry Gelato and Limoncello cake. We had a great date night and can't wait to go back. Very reasonably priced and also a BYOB. So grab your friends or family, some adult beverages and have a wonderful dining experience. Burrata we will be back and sooner then later.

Very strange, since they were able to take my credit card for the deposit. But whatever.... we were all very excited to go. We even decided on our meals ahead of time from their menu online, which seemed a little pricey. Well......first......they had a VERY LIMITED OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE menu for Sinatra Night! They charged $48 for Veal Piccata! In fact, nothing on the menu was cheaper than $36 and that was for pasta!!!! And....you might think that the Veal must have been delicious at that price, but it wasn't!!!! It showed up on a plate soaked in bland gloppy sauce, no garnish, no nothing. They gave me a side bowl with string beans boiled potatoes. It was like they had a bunch of side dish bowls made up ahead of time. They gave absolutely no thought to food presentation, what so ever. And then when the bill came. We had to remind the waiter to apply our $25 per person credit! If they needed to cover the cost of the singer, I get that. But why not be upfront about it and charge a cover? Why not offer your regular menu? They only had one seating all evening. So disappointing! I feel really bad about having to leave this review, because I really want them to succeed, but I really resent feeling ripped off for sub par food at a premium price. On a positive note, Rich DeSimone was fantastic! He makes a great Frank Sinatra. We will see him again, but definitely NOT AT GIAMPINOS! DL

Very busy house on a Saturday night and oddly but graciously quieter than many steakhouse environs. Service is good, as should be expected with this type of "pricier" option. If nitpicking, a side dish of Brussels sprouts delivered later than all entrees. Plates for "finished" diners cleared before all diners were through, which is understandable but not practiced in some higher end places. Steaks are truly cooked to requested temperatures, medium, medium rare, perfect and not as common as portrayed. The octopus appetizer is really well done. The halibut special was presented nicely and was delicate and flavorful all at once. Our server apparently makes the cappuccino herself and was quite proud of her skill and was really a nice touch.

I love that they have a coat room, especially in the winter. There's a huge bar with plenty of seating around it. Several booths in the bar area and many tables in the dining areas.
