The Italian in my area is pretty lackluster. We tried LaScala's and for a local chain, I was very impressed. We celebrated my husband's birthday and the server acknowledged the celebratory event which was nice, because often times it is overlooked within a reservation note. The meatball app was sizeable, filling and also very delish. The meatballs were very good, and they weren't tough. There is nothing worse than a hockey puck meatball. For dinner I tried a new menu item, the vodka pasta with a chicken cutlet, burrata and hot honey. A MUST order!! The restaurant is bright and modern. Very Sizeable and looks like they can accommodate private parties as well. Would definitely return when that italian craving hits!

The ambience and location are nice. In terms of food the only thing propping this to 3 stars for me was the pizza. The pizza was solid and crispy. Outside of the pizza however the rest of the food we got was underwhelming. Everything else we ordered was either dry or insanely salty. All of the parmesan paninis were dry and even after soaking them in marinara they were overwhelmingly salty. I would only ever come here again maybe for pizza.

This is a great spot to get a good meal when in the Villanova area. This is a great chain, so you know there is a lot of consistency and quality in the environment, meals, drinks, and service. I've never been disappointed leaving this place after a meal! Conveniently located immediately west of Villanova's campus on Route 30/Lancaster Avenue, you can't ask for a more convenient location when visiting the school. There is ample parking, as it's in a mall complex with other businesses. Service is always attentive and professional, and that's always been a big positive of the whole dining experience. Inside, it's very modern, spacious, and clean. Expect it to be busy if there's a Villanova game that day! For the food, I usually get their individual pizzas, which are outstanding. Their Mike's Hot Honey one is really worth trying, with sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella, and ricotta! But they have a lot of other good options, like salads, paninis, and pastas. It's more of a laid back, informal restaurant without a lot of high priced entrees. They have a good drink menu with some creative cocktails and wine. The beer list is a bit limited, with about 10 of the major beer brands in bottles or cans, and about 4-5 on tap, with only one or two being local craft breweries. But there are plenty of options for all tastes. I'll keep coming back as long as they keep up the combination of great food, service and environment!

Our server, Shane, was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to connect with us. All of the food was delicious and came out quickly, even the sushi, which is new here. The $9 pizzas at happy hour is an amazing deal.

I was in town for a work conference and decided that I had a taste for Italian, and ended up at LaScalas fire, the service was great! I was with a coworker and we decided to go tapas style, we had delicious lemony wings, with Brussel sprouts, and a charcuterie board, I also had a tasty lavender martini. All around great time and I hope I get the chance to go back one day

My husband and I dined here with another couple for dinner last night (Sunday) at 6pm. It was their first and our second time eating here. We had reservations, but it was almost empty. The hostess promptly greeted us at the front and seated us. For some reason we were given a high-top table. No one objected and it turned out fine, I just thought it was odd to not offer a normal table or booth since we did have a reservation and it wasn't busy. The ambience is cool, airy, and clean. There is a full bar front and center and a partial view of the kitchen at the back. The restaurant is nice but not "fancy" -- great for any occasion. The menu has something for everyone without being overwhelming. Our server was not the warmest, but she was cordial enough, and she got our orders correct. We did have to ask for water refills more than once (they bring bottles to the table; our last one was bone dry for a while before we left), but she was otherwise attentive. Most of the staff actually seemed pretty miserable...but maybe it was due to the terrible Eagles game that was on. (Not sure if they're fans but they were all wearing Eagles shirts and jerseys.) The food was good overall. Temperatures, portions, and wait times were appropriate. The Burrata Board was delicious -- highly recommend. We enjoyed it last time we came here as well. For my entree, I had the Lemon Crab & Shrimp over Linguine, which was decent, but it could have used more seasoning (or garlic, maybe?). My husband had the Lasagna, which was disappointingly undercooked in the middle. The Tiramisu was great. No complaints voiced by our friends. I would give this more recent dining experience 3 stars; however, since we were completely satisfied last time and I would consider dining here again, I'll average out a 4-star rating.

I love this place! Staff is soooo friendly and good. Ambiance is good. Outdoor seating available. We ordered Baked Eggplant Parmesan, Spinach-feta pizza and to end our dinner on a sweeter note, we ordered Tiramisu. Only reason I gave 4 stars in food is because tiramisu does not contain ton loads of caramel sauce and chocolate sauce and shredded chocolate (usually). There was no taste of coffee in Tiramisu and was overly sweet. But, keeping the dessert section aside, loooooved the pizza and baked eggplant. Must must try the baked eggplant. There are good options for vegetarians like me. Everything is made in house so if you want to personalize anything, it is possible. You can tell them to opt out of any meats and they will be happy to do it. Talking about parking, there will not be any issues as it has pretty adequate parking spaces available.

    Buon appetito!

The moment you walk in, the vibe hits you first: vibrant colors, rustic touches, and an ambiance that feels like stepping into someone's family dining room back in Italy. It's authentic, comforting, and alive with culture. The food? Unreal. Their **homemade bread** sets the tone -- rustic, fresh, and full of that old-world character. The **pizza** is on another level with dough that's so good it almost steals the show. Every pasta dish carries that handcrafted feel, the kind that tells you the recipe didn't come from a cookbook -- it came from memory. Appetizers are just as impressive, but the **grilled octopus** stands out as a true star. Perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and proof that Exit 13 puts heart into every dish. This is the kind of spot where the atmosphere and the food work together -- where the vibe feels like home and the flavors taste like heritage. Exit 13 doesn't just serve Italian cuisine. The service was very good: attentive and friendly. The ambiance is similar to Not Your Average Joe's in Ardmore with the upstairs/balcony seating and downstairs and big screen TV showing sports, but much noisier, especially as the upstairs also was filled with guests. By the time we left at 7:45pm after a 6:45pm reservation, it was loud enough that we had to fairly shout at each other to continue our conversation. The food was okay, except the salad which was excellent, but not worth returning for just the salad. - beet salad - 4.5/5, plentiful small diced red and yellow beets, avocado, arugula, a light dressing and burrato with crushed pistachios. a very solid starter salad and the server kindly split a large order into two small plates for us to share - fried calamari - 3/5, having just eaten at Estia last night which has a very good fried calamari, this one was not breaded as consistently and some of the pieces were a tad on the large side for a reasonable bite and too chewy to be cut with the fork or knife. - penne puttanesca - 3/5, my husband ordered this and while he not a self-proclaimed foodie, for him to say it was just okay means it was really just okay - linguine vongole - 3/5, points for the very plentiful offering of clams, i counted probably 20 generously sized clams (sometimes you get miniscule clams with this dish), but overall the sauce was too salty and there's not much you can do to fix that, and the linguine was a bit overcooked, definitely not even close to al dente We skipped dessert as by that point our ears were starting to ring with the high decibels coming from around us on the balcony and the floor below. It looked like a lot of people were having a good time so maybe it's just not for us.

It's the kind of space that makes you want to settle in and keep enjoying just one more bite. This visit, I had the veal stuffed homemade pasta and the Sicilian meatballs both rich, comforting, and beautifully balanced. The pasta was tender and clearly house-made, and the meatballs were perfectly seasoned in a slow-simmered sauce full of depth. The shrimp appetizer was the standout, served with a special house-made sauce and crispy pickled cucumbers for the perfect bright contrast. Truly my favorite shrimp appetizer I've ever had. Our server, Andrea, really made the experience even better. She helped us navigate the menu and offered thoughtful suggestions that we absolutely loved. Between the food, the ambiance, and the service, Rosalie always feels like comfort done right.

The experience was a little bizarre. Their website says "Rosalie doesn't allow reservations for 1,…read moreplease just walk in". I walked in, as directed, just for a very flustered man at the front of the house to fumble with his system for a good 10 mins. Telling me there was a table, then taking it back and saying there were no tables for the night, then saying nevermind and making me a reservation for two (which I would have done if not discouraged by the website) for half an hour later. At this point I already had a very bad taste in my mouth from the level of chaos. I waited outside for my table. When I got to my table I will say my server was very nice until a strange comment came up at dessert. Once I ordered my dessert, he left and came back with two spoons, saying "I brought two spoons for us." It almost seemed implied he'd join me. I dine a lot alone, voluntarily. Most of the time it's after work and I really don't want, let alone need, company. His comment gave me anxiety as I wondered how I would politely tell this man I wanted to dine alone. When he brought the dessert he did not join me but made sure to say "I'll be back for a few bites." Maybe it was a joke but to me it was very odd and made me pretty uncomfortable. I gave three stars just for the Cacio e Pepe. It was very good. I did (without giving tmi) have a very sick stomach after the meal and the morning after so I wouldn't return just incase that was the cause. Like a said... a weird experience.

Service: each person with whom we interacted (hosts, manager, food runners and especially our server...she was fantastic). Food: For the table, we got Calamari: very light and crispy, but the meat was nice and tender Pepperoni and soppressata: excellent, with an amazing sauce, sausage and crispy outside tender inside crust. Dinner: The kids both got the Rigatoni Vodka. This is what I had the first time we visited. It was just as delicious. Packed with flavor and the sausage was perfect. Tender, and just a touch of heat. My wife got the Gemelli. A pistachio pesto - this was probably the best pesto I've ever tasted. Creamy, fill of flavor and a touch of acid that brightened it up nicely. Incredible. I got the Bucatini Amatriciana. Pomodoro sauce with guanciale. Blew me away. The pomodoro was unbelievably well balanced. Exact amount of sweetness, slightly acidic and the guanciale brought the salty note, in the form of crispy crunchy bacon flavor, but surprisingly tender. Blown away. We had to try dessert. Tiramisu: it was as good as expected. Very well made Vanilla Panna Cotta: this was exceptional (like pretty much the rest of the meal) delicate and creamy, and a huckleberry compote (?) that was insanely good. A touch of salt was in there to make it positively sing. I could not more highly recommend giving this place a try. Absolutely the whole package. Loved it and will be back!

Fast forward to this latest visit home. I finally secured a reservation...but then late yesterday afternoon my mom's knee started acting up to the point where she could barely stand on it. Fortunately, ice, Advil and rest overnight--and my mom really, really wanting to come here--kept us on track, and tonight I finally made it. It's a cozy spot, and I can see it making an excellent date night, especially since the BYOB setup allows you to bring the wine of your choice (and save some $$). We were seated promptly--this Sunday was relatively mellow--and the servers were super accommodating about removing a chair so that my mom's walker could occupy the unused space on our four-top. The menu is what I call right-sized. It may seem smallish, but there is a strategic assortment of salads and apps, pastas and mains (and, of course, desserts) that is sure to accommodate everyone. Dean, the young man who would go on to do an outstanding job taking care of us for the night (with the other two servers chipping in seamlessly as needed), went through the specials. My mom was particularly intrigued by a squid-ink fettucine with lobster and shrimp (and cherry tomatoes) in a saffron cream sauce. Could we split it as an app, we asked? Would it be too much food? On Dean's advice, we went ahead, while my dad got the mussels. All three of us ordered the pork chop, which my parents have been raving about for a couple years now. How could I not try it? Ordering finished, bread and olive oil (with a bit of balsamic) arrived at the table. Knowing I had a pasta coming and that the pork chop was a good-sized portion, I didn't want to overdo it, which I think was ultimately a good choice. The bread took the edge off, and then the pasta arrived. It was just the right amount for two people to share as an app, and we both enjoyed it, while my dad loved his mussels (and then dunked lots of his bread in it). Then came the main event. The pork chop lived up to (and frankly, exceeded) the hype. It was tender and perfectly cooked and oh-so-flavorful. Definitely one of the best I've ever eaten, and this isn't my first pork-chop rodeo. It was accompanied by asparagus and yummy baby Yukon Gold potatoes; I left a view of the latter, not because they weren't yummy but rather because the pork chop was huge and I was not skipping dessert. For dessert, I went with the house-made cannoli, which was a lovely, sweet (but not oversweet) ending to an excellent meal. I'd be happy to come back to Burrata anytime.

We were amazed at how good our food was and why we hadn't dine here before. We split a mixed greens salad which was also delicious with apples. Topped it off with Strawberry Gelato and Limoncello cake. We had a great date night and can't wait to go back. Very reasonably priced and also a BYOB. We asked to split one order, which came to the table divided. I noticed, after my husband paid, that we were charged $13. An undisclosed $3.50 for anchovies that should have been included in the first place?! I think not. -- Chicken Rollatini -- This was T's favorite dish in our former neighborhood restaurant. As a point of comparison, Fellini's was okay, but it was over-sauced with a thin gravy. We were given a free glass of wine as well as a little beverage at the end. Unfortunately, the food was hit or miss. Having been to Europe a few times, I would describe this as a very mediocre performance of very authentic Italian food. We ordered the chicken special, as well as the lasagna. While the flavors were deliciously fresh and balanced - not at all heavy and salty like Americanized Italian food - the orders came out lukewarm and so fast that it seemed like they just microwaved the food. Lasagna had very little meat and was mostly cheese (still delicious). Bread was served cold with cold pats of butter in plastic. Servings were small, European sized but very pricy. I would still come back here for the ambience alone and to support a local business, but not necessarily for the food.
