    Crabmeat ravioli
    Ji B.

Food tasted good! The quantity of the crabmeat ravioli was sparse (5 pieces) so the price wasn't justified. They can add a few more potatoes to the branzino (come on, two small pieces?). Service was alright. Friendly, but not too attentive. Had to flag them down for water and the check never came. We had to get up and proactively ask how we can pay at the host stand.

The meat and cheese board was delicious.

We went to Spasso on a Monday night for their price-fixed deal. On Monday and Tuesday nights, you can pretty much order any appetizer, entree, and dessert for $45. Plus, if two people order this deal, you get a complimentary bottle of house wine. We started with the Spanish grilled octopus. The accompanying hummus and chili oil added to the flavor of the octopus. We also ordered a meat and cheese board which was enjoyed by all. I loved the fettuccine with mussels, clams, and shrimp, and the gnocchi was a hit as well. Although we sat in the bar area, Spasso has a great upstairs dining room surrounded by windows.

The food is outstanding. Everything we've had we liked. Chicken parmigiana you can cut with a fork. Pizza dough is THIN. Excellent sauce

Stopped by for lunch and sat in the main dining area. I ordered and enjoyed the roasted beet, goat cheese, and arugula salad with grilled chicken and the grilled chicken with Brocolli rabe. I also tried a blood orange mule--one of their non-alcoholic drinks. All the food was on point as was the service. This place will be on our regular rotation for lunch and dinner too!

Second time going to Spasso and I was not disappointed. The first visit was okay, noting remarkable but the food was really good. This time I came as part of a large group to celebrate an engagement. Our server, Zach, was very attentive even though we were in a side room. He also got all of our orders correct (even with multiple substitutions and changes) and he was also great at the end when we needed our celebration cake prepared and cut. The drinks and food were great as well. I was a bit bummed that the pasta dish I wanted didn't come with vodka sauce which is my favorite, but I was able to easily switch it out! The whole table was very impressed with the food and service and said we'd be back to try the weekend brunch special.

Great family Italian restaurant! The pasta here is amazing. You can tell the difference. It's better than typical pasta. They must have some family secrets. The pasta melts in your mouth the crab ravioli had a very fresh basil pesto and the sundried tomatoes gave it a perfect accent. The other dish is the Burata tortellini I didn't taste it but it was enjoyed. No doggie bags plates were cleaned. We also had grilled and fried calamari for two different takes on a favorite. Both were good. I liked the grilled best because it's not as common. Had molten lava cake for desert and tartufo yum. Will go back! It's worth the trip. Also cute town with a nightlife if you want to make a night of it.

We spent over $120 in this visit for the experience to leave this review. Food was 4 stars but service was very lacking (on a week night when they were only 1/4 full). SERVICE: Server was friendly and I think meant well, but if they were new, it was not disclosed. They had no knowledge of anything on the menu. I asked about pomodoro sauce; they didn't know what that was. They said "that doesn't get ordered much" about the pomodoro, like don't try it. (I wish I had tried something different after the penne that had a canned flavor.) I asked about bourbon and whiskey selections, again, server had no clue. I rarely drink, so I absolutely appreciate a non-drinker, but please know your products when it's your job to sell them! Since I do rarely drink, I want something specific on the few occasions I try to enjoy a cocktail. I also have allergies to certain alcoholic products, so that is a huge reason a server should know this! Server also wasn't proactive in finding things out when they didn't know. Didn't offer to ask, and when we requested they get the info, it was a big chore, and we never got any answers. All the plates were late. Server was never there to follow up with anything. I had to ask for water twice. We had to wait forever for server to take check despite telling them we were ready to go (after already waiting a long time with dirty dishes in front of us). FOOD: We've always had entrees in the past so we tried Happy Hour this time. HH Cheese plate (no description in menu so here is what it was) had six slices of cheese, a cut up fig, apple slices, 2 thin toasted baguette slices, and a sauce cup of jam (who knows what it was so I didn't eat it due to allergies). For $10 it was fair. Not a value but not tremendously overpriced. I disliked one cheese but was very pleased with the other two so I guess it's fair. Of course our server gave zero info on what cheeses there were, and absolutely no comprehension that she ought to know this information. HH pizza pleased my son and we had leftovers to take home, which they even boxed in a mini pizza box. Thumbs up! Nice touch! HH penne was yuk! Very little flavor from the bacon, sauce was dull... even the peas weren't happy. Just tasted like it was made in a huge batch with watered-down ingredients, and zero love. HH gnocchi Gorgonzola was great. Layers of flavor, sharp, creamy, slight garlic-herb flavor. Gnocchi was well prepared and all flowed. HH meatballs... 2 average size meatballs for $8? The marinara was good but I expected more. Desserts were tasty. House made crème brûlée was delicious and addictive. Very nice! Tartufo style ice cream bomb was a good size and very satisfying for kids! Thought the ice cream with espresso was another kind of ice cream bomb (since it was listed in a cluster with those items). So, plain ice cream with espresso liquid on top was way not worth the money at all. All in all decent food but service was really not up to the standard of similar restaurants and the atmosphere/prices charged command better than amateur service.

    Veal Saltimbocca

My husband and I decided to have a day date and have lunch in Media, PA  and stopped by Spasso. It was lunch hour on a Monday, and it was not crowded. We were greeted by our server Sarah and immediately seated in the dining room facing Jackson Street. As you enter the establishment, you are greeted by a polished bar and beautiful brick oven. The dining room was equipped with stained hardwood floors and plenty of natural light making for a pleasant atmosphere and ambiance. We shared the following appetizers: (1) Grilled Octopus, (2) Grilled Calamari, (3) Gamberetti (Rock Shrimp with Cannelini Beans in a broth), and (4) Aracini (Fried Rice Balls). My husband and I agreed that the Grilled Octopus was our favorite of the four because, in addition to tasting great, it was cooked to perfection (not chewy nor heavily charred). Next, the Gamberetti was not what we expected as it was essentially a soup, but it tasted great and the seafood broth was enhanced by the garlic saltiness. Our third ranking was the Arancini which was seasoned well and fried but just okay. Sadly, our least favorite was the Grilled Calamari as it was heavily charred (bitter) and overcooked (chewy).  For lunch my husband enjoyed the Veal Saltimbocca, and I had the Chicken Fontinella. My husband thought the Veal was cooked perfectly considering it was thinly sliced (think Thanksgiving turkey breast). It was smothered in mozzarella cheese and prosciutto with a demi glaze sauce and served atop grilled veggies including spinach, onions, bell peppers and carrots. He cited while enjoying the meal that a side of either angel hair or linguine pasta would've made the dish a perfect 10/10. I thought that the Fontinella was fine and very cheesy (fontina), though I added grated parmesan on top too. Also served on grilled veggies including bell peppers, carrots, onions, and asparagus with a tomato sauce, the dish was quite tasty. I also believed that the only thing that would've made it perfect was if it was served with pasta. Our server, Sarah, was welcoming, informative, and fairly attentive throughout our dining experience. We opted out of adult beverages but were impressed by the decent wine lists. We agree that we will stop by again for dinner service, and maybe next spring/summer, check out their Beer Garden.

Very busy restaurant for mediocre food. I feel like I can make better pasta at home. The pizza and steak were also meh. Maybe everyone's there for the ambience? It is in an older/nice building. But, I probably won't be back unless it's to just grab drinks.

We just hosted a Bridal Shower in the beer garden for my daughter here in Media yesterday and it was amazing!! We had last minute adjustments due to the wind but the Spasso team was ready to respond and resolve the situation!! Their entire event team and support staff were friendly, super helpful, and on top of their game. The Food was excellent as always & 1 of the reasons we chose this venue. We had approximately 50 guests and the price was definitely within budget! A big thanks to our server Ally- our Bartender ( beer garden side), host Tony and ALL the staff who helped make our day a huge success!! Thank you again!!!

Was expecting more crab in the crab pastas. The pasta was rather bland and the Friday special were sold out before 6pm.

Fast forward to this latest visit home. I finally secured a reservation...but then late yesterday afternoon my mom's knee started acting up to the point where she could barely stand on it. Fortunately, ice, Advil and rest overnight--and my mom really, really wanting to come here--kept us on track, and tonight I finally made it. It's a cozy spot, and I can see it making an excellent date night, especially since the BYOB setup allows you to bring the wine of your choice (and save some $$). We were seated promptly--this Sunday was relatively mellow--and the servers were super accommodating about removing a chair so that my mom's walker could occupy the unused space on our four-top. The menu is what I call right-sized. It may seem smallish, but there is a strategic assortment of salads and apps, pastas and mains (and, of course, desserts) that is sure to accommodate everyone. Dean, the young man who would go on to do an outstanding job taking care of us for the night (with the other two servers chipping in seamlessly as needed), went through the specials. My mom was particularly intrigued by a squid-ink fettucine with lobster and shrimp (and cherry tomatoes) in a saffron cream sauce. Could we split it as an app, we asked? Would it be too much food? On Dean's advice, we went ahead, while my dad got the mussels. All three of us ordered the pork chop, which my parents have been raving about for a couple years now. How could I not try it? Ordering finished, bread and olive oil (with a bit of balsamic) arrived at the table. Knowing I had a pasta coming and that the pork chop was a good-sized portion, I didn't want to overdo it, which I think was ultimately a good choice. The bread took the edge off, and then the pasta arrived. It was just the right amount for two people to share as an app, and we both enjoyed it, while my dad loved his mussels (and then dunked lots of his bread in it). Then came the main event. The pork chop lived up to (and frankly, exceeded) the hype. It was tender and perfectly cooked and oh-so-flavorful. Definitely one of the best I've ever eaten, and this isn't my first pork-chop rodeo. It was accompanied by asparagus and yummy baby Yukon Gold potatoes; I left a view of the latter, not because they weren't yummy but rather because the pork chop was huge and I was not skipping dessert. For dessert, I went with the house-made cannoli, which was a lovely, sweet (but not oversweet) ending to an excellent meal. I'd be happy to come back to Burrata anytime.
