Went on Thanksgiving Day ... wonderful experience. Beautiful decor and Jason & Jay took care of us all night! Karaoke night, good vibes all around!

    The bar!

Jay was great. He took care of us at the bar and really delivered in liveliness and personality. We also ate dinner here the food and service was amazing. Atmosphere and aesthetic is cozy and warm. Perfect for the fall and winter months would recommend to anyone!

Special Tuesday drinks and food (vegan cheesesteaks and a pizza) with Amigo Dan. I think Oyster Mushrooms make the best vegan cheesesteak. Shebeen has a Mushroom Caprese sandwich. For our purposes it is a vegan cheesesteak. We liked it. I would like to try it again when beefsteak tomatoes are in full bloom. I would like to see this sandwich on a better roll. A less porous roll. We loved the renovations to the room. Great use of rope as an accent piece on the ceiling. Vanessa makes a great drink. I got a Bulleit Old Fashioned. It was very yummy. The best part...... $13. I thought for sure that drink, in Media, was going to be at least $18. Great stop.

If you want great drinks, food, and ambiance... look no further. I've always loved coming here but even more around Christmas. We had a fantastic time and the service was on point along with everything else. Whiskey drinks were so good!!

I'm in for BRUNCH: Monte Cristo NIRVANA. Truly a perfect sandwich. Sweet salty crunchy chewy. So in love. A must try. Great cocktails that pink peppercorn gin. Wow! Need to check this out. PS thanks to James for the delightful convo - we felt lost welcomed! The Guinness was perfect pour. Will try that expresso martini next time!

We decided to give the place another try considering their bourbon and whiskey options. First time here we had table service, but now we had to order at the bar. The bar seemed understaffed with only one bartender. The drink my wife tried to order from the previous visit was no longer available, because they change their specialty drinks frequently. I tried ordering a whiskey flight and was told they were not offering flights that night, because they haven't managed the inventory. The flight would've been the highlight. Still, we decided to eat as we were starving. Food was good.

Tried the Idlewood bar portion tonight and the fish and chips. It was great. Loved the live music and relaxed courtyard. Friendly service and the fish and chips were really good.

The service was ok. Food was disappointing. Had eggs Benedict. The eggs were hard boiled, not poached.

We ended up at Testa Rossa on a Saturday afternoon after dropping off one of the girls for a…read morebirthday party at SkyZone. Dinner was only a few hours off, but a bit too soon for a full lunch. However, the menu got the best of us and we ended up ordering a bunch of little things which ended up being far too much, but definitely in a good way. The space is quirky with a wonderful neo-mod design that is very eye catching and makes great use of the old diner aesthetic of the previous space, while improving upon it a hundredfold by making it much classier but not over the top. It does feel decidedly like a 1960's Italian locale out of a Roger Moore or Sean Connery era Bond film; to great effect. Another thing I loved about the design is that it feels compact but not small. I dislike huge restaurants, and love the family owned vibe, and this space occupies the very nice Goldilocks zone between being 'just right'. The food was good and I will get to that, but what really made our experience was our outstanding, amazing, dare I say...... legendary server, Alice. She was just flat out hands down an all around pro with a great attitude, a kind smile, and a wonderful personality who knew exactly how to keep a table like ours happy, engaged, and ready to come back again. This is something that I feel has been missing in so many places since Covid occurred, and encountering someone as great as Alice just really made the whole time there a notch above. Finally getting to the food, which was obviously delicious, there was nothing that was absolutely mind blowing, but all of it was very unique and extremely well prepared and flavorful. I did like that not everything was tomato-centric on the menu and there was a vast variety of different dishes that match the uniqueness of the space. The highlight for me was the carrot soup, not an every day item, that was nice and heavy with cumin. Brilliant flavors but not too forward, which followed our caprese dip that was an outstanding take on a dish that everyone loves, but is overdone at this point. The bread they are serving here is insanely good; either lightly toasted or grilled quickly on a flat grill, I am not sure, but slathered with high quality olive oil and it's perfectly soft, crispy, crusty, and chewy all at the same time. Testa Rossa is definitely worth checking out, and we only went for a few small plates with the intention of it being a snack. Apparently the family has more than one location, although I am not sure where the others are. If you are near Glen Mills, it is definitely worth the trip to stop in here and give them a try. Oh, and don't forget to pair your food with the super cool espresso martini tower, because you get to choose the flavors, but I'm still sticking with classic as my favorite!

Service the absolute worst- Bar very slow...and needs to purchase more rocks glasses... It shouldn't take 10 minutes to get a glass of wine!! Busy? Hire more f**ing people... Order pizza well done came out under cooked Ordered lasagna extra hot!!! Came out warm... I will say they did make another pizza and didn't charge us for either the pizza or lasagna Although all the while as we are stuck with half the table eating and half waiting for their food had no choice but to order another round of mediocre Pinot Grigio (they sell by the glass but not by the bottle...) asked our server about buying a bottle which she NEVER found out for us!!! Manager tried but honestly not much you can do at the point he showed up... Restaurant business is tough- been there done that but come on this was pretty basic stuff that was 100% screwed up!!! Personally NEVER AGAIN

We decided to try Salt & Stone recently since it was a new spot and this place did not disappoint. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by none other than the owners. Zara & Dimitri (not great with names but I think that's what they said) were very welcoming and patient as I inquired about all the work they've done with the interior. It looks a lot nicer inside than the previous restaurant. Now the important part. The food. Absolutely incredible. I am still disappointed I didn't try this place earlier. We started with the goat cheese lollipops (amazing), Mezze, and calimari (high quality). After the first bite, I knew we were in for a great dinner. For the main course, I ordered the Rigatoni & my wife ordered the pork chop. Both were top notch. I love a good old fashioned and I enjoy other people's takes on this. Theirs was something different with a pistachio rim. It did not disappoint. These folks know what they're doing and I'm still thinking about that meal over a week later.

An easy contender for the best bar & restaurant in Ardmore!…read more From the first moment that I stumbled upon it on the way to a dinner and just had to grab test cocktail, to the most recent time where I splurged on all the sushi and bao bun noms; Izzy's has been a place that never disappoints! It's called Izzy's because at its core it's a casual Izakaya where you can enjoy sushi, bao, drinks, and more without even needing a reservation (https://www.phillymag.com/foobooz/2025/05/28/izzys-cocktail-bar-izakaya-ardmore/) four nights a week. But its all a passion project from the Ripplewood team that does all that with a good fusion twist that yields very little confusion. Your old fashioned might come with an aged dark rum instead of a whiskey, your salmon hand roll might be the perfect lox bagel without the bagel, and your bao bun might come birria taco style, and all of the above are absolute serendipity! The menu does shift regularly enough to the point where you'll find at least one new favorite among old staple with each visit, and you also want to be prepared to find out about specials and get spot-on recommendations from the welcoming staff. For cocktails I've immensely enjoyed their versions of dark & stormy's, olde fashioned's, the Last Word (https://www.phillymag.com/foobooz/2025/06/19/izzys-ardmore-last-word/), and then some. But they also have a weel rounded selection of Japanese whiskeys, and you best believe that they have Hitachino Nest beer! For food I've enjoyed the following; Salmon Philly Handroll - The perfect lox bagel without the bagel comes with sushi grade salmon, creme fraiche, and everything bagel spice in a seaweed wrap. Hokkaido Scallop Handroll - the perfect buttery scallops with an umami bomb speak for themselves! Miso Soup - You haven't had miso soup until you had this freshmaker version that perfectly serves two. Hands down the best version I've ever had! Nigiri - All the nigiri, all of it is good! Spicy Cucumbers - the perfect chilled vegetable to share with the table with a bit of spice and flavor that rivals my belove Han Dynasty and Dan Dan versions! Birria Bao Buns - Somehow the best queso free birria I've had might not come with a taco?! My favorite seat is the window booth that overlooks all of downtown Ardmore. But my second favorite is standing so I can play a free game of pinball!

The drinks are very good and the food is very good, but if you make a dinner out of the food it gets expensive very quickly. I'll be back for either pre- or post-dinner drinks!
