There are many reasons to love The Social; location is great, the owners are wonderful, the ideas are interesting and fresh, staff is upbeat and exciting, and everything is pretty good. However, for everything that makes it shine, there is an attachment to a detractor that is holding it back from being absolutely great. They are currently in a "soft opening" period, so they are taking this opportunity to make changes, take input from visitors and guests, and really listen to feedback and experiences from those that come in to potentially make this the best destination in the area for unique drinks and interesting, delicious dishes that will satisfy, along with some that you simply won't find anywhere else. The drink menu that they currently offer is very interesting and unique and I can say that the drinks are quite tasty. I am not particularly a tequila fan, but the Goblet of Fire did impress, and the Sweet Heat bourbon drink I ordered was frankly outstanding. There are times when deciding on food to order that I am slightly frozen by having to choose between too many selections that I may want to try, and this happened at the Social, but not in a bad way. We ordered Corn Ribs and Lobster Dumplings for the table, but when it came to the wings (I knew I wanted wings, as I had heard they were great), there were simply too many choices and I was shut down. Luckily, our server came to the rescue. She shared the fact that there was a secret menu choice for the chef's personal hot wings that they make for staff, as well as if someone asks for them, so I quickly ordered the "Secret Hot Wings" and was pleasantly satisfied to find that the perfectly hot and insanely garlicky sauce was easily the best part of my entire experience. Our entire group found felt the same way about the wonderful corn ribs and dumplings, but no one else in my party seemed to be all that impressed by their orders, saying they were good, but nothing special. So, all that being said, one of the things I experienced is that it is loud...and I mean REALLY loud. I am not sure if this was because of the large party that got sat in the corner of the room where we were seated, because the volume did increase slightly when they arrived, but it was already incredibly loud. I understand that certain restaurants invite that type of atmosphere and that it is even encouraged and desired in certain settings, and I have never had a problem with high volume bars, restaurants, etc. However, here, it was just so loud, we could not even have a conversation. It was the biggest thing that soured our experience...and it was pervasive, not just where we were seated but throughout the entire space. They also do not have much in the way of options if you are not drinking alcohol, which is fine by me, but not for everyone that will want to enjoy a meal there. Lastly, I'd like to address what happened when we went to pay our bill, which was extremely reasonable for everything we had ordered. Half of the entirety of the check was left in cash and a card was also left. Although no instructions were given, the server simply assumed that the entirety of the cash was given as tip, and charged the entirety of the meal to the card, which was not a problem, but could have been and was a pretty brazen assumption to make. If there had been any question or confusion, a simple question would have easily rectified any issue. There is definitely growing and learning to be had at The Social, but what they are getting right, they are doing impeccably and I would definitely recommend coming here and trying all the wonderful and colorful drinks if you are in the area. Everything I ate was tasty, hot, and extremely reasonable for what it was, and I look forward to returning once they are fully open and have a set menu to try new things and get a "full" experience. I believe there will be much more to see here in the future.

I've been hearing about this place for a while and I finally checked it out. One time for happy hour and the next for an Eagles game. Both times made me a fan. The drinks are strong and the burgers are some of the best I had. The place is super cute and the bartenders/servers are friendly and accommodating. They ordered free shots for every touchdown and that definitely assured a good time. Can't wait to go back.

I ordered the Alfredo and a burger with cheese fries and the burger is salty and the fries are salty and the cheese sauce is salty I didn't take a picture of the food because it just was so disappointing they said they ran out of chicken wings so they had to give us breaded chicken, the chicken tasted weird and premade and the chicken was fried really hard we paid 15$ for 6 wing dings everything is overpriced and disgusting the Alfredo didn't even have any color to it it was just a bowl full of heavy cream, we waited a hour and 30 mins for 6 overcooked wings, and bland food the owner is nice but the food and service is terrible, I went to this location when it had its grand opening and it was okay and I tried to give them another chance and this was just a let down, the reviews on this restaurant has to be from drunk people or people that do not have any tastebuds because the food was below average only eat from here if you're planning on getting drunk anything taste good when you're drunk but i would advice you to avoid this place at all costs if you are looking for a good meal. 70$ down the drain, I came in here at 7:10 pm and just left at 9:40 almost 3 hours of waiting for disgusting food and now my stomach is hurting...great. The Alfredo was 30$ and the burger was 16$ and the wings was 15$.

    Shrimp skewers.

Everything we ordered was fantastic. Very tasty, different and definitely satisfying. - shrimp skewers - lobster dumplings - smash burger w/fries (perfect!) Waitress (Julie?) was pleasant and offered great recommendations. We will be back to try the corn ribs and lamb burger!

I am vegetarian, so here are my thoughts on the new items. Ensalade Verde: is the absolute best salad in the city. in the country even. absolute must get. it's big, however me and my sister still refuse to split it. definitely shareable though if you're not as greedy. Patatas Bravas: slightly different iteration than their past one. I think it's actually better. you get more potato's, more sauce, and the sauce just tastes slightly better but who knows. always ordered when we go Brussels Catalana: technically there is blue cheese in this, however, I am a certified blue cheese hater and I had no idea. so don't be turned off by that. first time having this dish and it was solid. good portion, well coated, right texture. will get again Pimientos De Pardon: shishito peppers were good, decent amount of them. I think everyone had three and we had 4 people. wouldn't get again just because there are other things more worth it but still great. Unknown Cauliflower dish: i'm not seeing it on the menu, so maybe it was just removed, but it was essentially a cauliflower gratin dish. I wouldn't get again. it was good, but lacked salt and was basically just a cauliflower in some heavy cream with a tiny amount of bread crumbs. Valenciana Paella: this has meat in it obviously, but I did eat around the pieces. if you're vegetarian and don't mind your food touching the meat, it's very easy to pick around. all the meat pieces are medium sized. This was very good, the rice was amazing, the watercress was so good. presentation was great. worth the time and money especially if you eat meat Ganache de Chocolate: pretty good. honestly interested in trying the rice pudding next. or just ordering another patatas bravas for dessert. shareable between two people. Passion fruit mocktail: MUST GET for all non drinkers! expensive? yes. worth it? yes. taste is great and it's also a nice thing to have if you're with others who drink and don't want to be left out. it's set up just like an alcoholic drink would be.

The tasting menu had three tiers you could choose from- $35, $45, and $55/person. We chose the $55/person option which included the full menu of tapas as well as dessert. They pick the most popular dishes to bring out to the table but also allow you to request any specifically that you'd like. By the end of night, we had a TON of food, even more than we could finish, and ended up trying at least 15 different dishes. All the food was great, with some of my favorites being the eggplant caponata (cold, very flavorful), scallops a la plancha, jamon & manchego croquetas, spiced beef empanadas, and the paellas. Favorite dessert was the chocolate cake, but we were received all the desserts other than the ice cream and sorbet. I may have liked the food experience less if I had ordered off the regular menu and only tried a few small plate, but I loved the option of trying so many dishes. By the time we finished everything, we had been there for over 3 hours (including lots of wine of course), which was really fun! The place gets packed on a Saturday night so we would not have gotten in without a reservation.

The staff were immediately sympathetic, super friendly and helpful. Of course, as if I wasn't embarrassed enough, as soon as the 3 year old washed his hands, he shouted "I'm hungry" (is this sort of human I'm raising?). We were already in a restaurant so why not. Before being seated or looking at the menu, I asked for some fries to be put in and the waitress offered some chicken tenders. After finally looking over the menu, I don't think these are regular offerings so I appreciated them trying to be accommodating to a frazzled parent at dinner time. My vegan mother in law joined us and we were pleased that there were so many options for her. My absolute favourite (such that I had to order another round) was the eggplant caponata - perfectly sweet with a little bit of spice. It was so warm and comforting - exactly what I want at the end of a long cold day. My MIL's fav were the Brussels sprouts - they had a tang reminiscent of buffalo sauce and were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, textured heaven (extra bonus points for the 3 year old absolutely LOVING them - he redeemed himself). If you like hummus, try the spinach and chick pea cazuela. Squash is in season so I knew it was going to be delightful - the pomegranate was a combination that was new to me, but it didn't disappoint. We didn't try the roasted carrots (because my household is all carroted out for the moment) but someone one table over was gushing over them. As a meat eater, I have to say that the non meat tapas were standouts - I tried the empanadas, they were fine; I didn't enjoy the meatballs and I just wanted to order more of the eggplant caponata. All in all, I would definitely come back, maybe for drinks with friends or date night. The drink list looked inviting and nothing says intimacy like mood lighting and shared plates. The price (without alcohol) was very approachable - for $80 a vegan, a 3 year old and a frazzled mom left satiated.

Every town, burg, or community - however large or small - should be the proud possessor of at least…read moreone... Bistro, that is. A cozy little restaurant that serves up delightfully delicious food in a decidedly casual setting. And in Havre de Grace, The Vineyard Wine Bar fills this niche with a subtle sense of style. As the name suggests, wine has played a significant role in Vineyard's obvious success. So much so, in fact, that not only does the restaurant sport a superb compendium of vintages by the glass and bottle, its lunch and dinner menus are also divided into categories - Light Bodied, Medium Bodied, Full Bodied - that correspond to specific types of wines. Yes, wine is definitely the name of the game... But don't let that fool you. The kitchen also has a great deal to say... and all of it good. The food here is excellent in every respect, as is the service. If I lived in HdG, I have absolutely no doubt that I would be tempted to dine here every day of the week. The Vineyard is everything a great bistro should be - and then some. But I begin to digress... As you have undoubtedly surmised from the above remarks, our dinner here was an extraordinarily satisfying experience. My dining partner and I began by sharing the Bruschetta Trio. Bruschetta is an Italian appetizer that begins with grilled bread topped with garlic and olive oil and then adds a variety of toppings. In this case, the finishing touches consisted of a luscious garlic spread, sundried tomato and basil pestos, melted mozzarella, and house marinated tomatoes with a balsamic glaze. While most incarnations of bruschetta may be consumed manually, Vineyard's substantially succulent variations on the theme (as you will note from the photograph above) demanded the ministrations of both knife & fork and were well worth the effort... Incredibly and unforgettably delicious. As we moved on to what would be considered the entrée or main course, options were numerous and varied... from Cornish Game Hen to Crispy Skin Duck... Venison to Dakota Steak... Lamb Vindaloo to Pesto Bucatini... ... On this particular evening, however, matters piscatorial appeared to take precedence. My dining partner was absolutely ecstatic with her Tuna Bites. Which is precisely what they were... diminutive squares of blackened tuna luxuriating in a Creole remoulade (a creamy, mayonnaise-based sauce originating in France). A definite "wow" factor at work here. On the other hand, my Mango Glazed Salmon was equally up to the mark... First of all, it was wild caught, which I much prefer (with rare exception) to the farmed variety. Secondly, as with most species of fish, salmon tends to be prone to both over and under cooking. Here, however, it was perfectly prepared - cooked through but still moist and succulent at the core - superbly complemented by a slightly smokey red pepper coulis (a smooth sauce made from puréed and strained fruits or vegetables), and companioned by lemon & herb risotto and roasted asparagus spears. On to the wine... With regard to both taste and texture, tuna and salmon are certainly among finny fare's heartiest representatives. Thus, despite the oft-quoted dictum, "Red wine with meat, white wine with fish," and the gentle urgings of our server in that direction, I have always found that salmon and pinot noir are - somewhat akin to lamb and red Bordeaux - a match made in heaven. And, in this instance, the 2022 Lundeen Mon Père Pinot Noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley proved to be a perfect match for my companion's blackened tuna bites as well. Dessert was a special treat. Naturally, many of the usual familiar sweet endings were present and accounted for. And, given the superior quality of the cuisine thus far, I had no doubt whatsoever that they would have acquitted themselves with suitable aplomb. For some reason, however, my dining companion and I were both drawn to the Crème Brûlée Cheesecake (pictured), which we decided to share... and, which, as it turned out, proved to be one of the high points of our evening. This was an intriguing amalgam indeed: The sweetness of taste being more influenced by the former; the firmness of texture by the latter. It is - if you will pardon the seemingly psychological digression - what we might consider a type of "gastronomic Gestalt," in which the whole is greater than the mere sum of its parts. In other words, the components of Crème Brûlée and Cheesecake have been combined... and from this fascinating combination there has emerged a new dessert that is even more desirable than the components have been individually. Well... call it what you will. I just know that it was so incredibly delicious that I would return at a moment's notice just to indulge my taste buds once again.
