I chose to have an old-fashioned with my meal. There's a large selection of shareable's and I chose the crab dip and it was nicely done. There's five or six flatbread pizzas to choose from a nice offering of salads as well as sandwiches, and four entrées, consisting of mac & cheese, fish and chips, muscles, pork cutlet. I always enjoy Reuben so I took their twist of a Reuben cheesesteak on a pretzel hoagie, which was nice and soft and a fun twist on a Reuben. Great place for a drink or wings which I got during football sunday with the local Eagles playing. Sundays have $10 wings with $1 discount with each touchdown by the Birds. Stopped in for the first time love the rustic feel of the tall wooden roof and long bar for games or more quieter sections for dinners or dates. The service was quick, efficient and friendly with the staff running me through the daily and football specials, suggestions on good drafts like their Lukr, a more foamy pour in their 20oz. Mugs for $8.00 with their house New Trail pilsner or Forest & Main lagers. For a short drive out of DE you'll find this quiet, quant restaurant this is loud, fun and welcoming inside. This is hands down the only place in the area where the food, service, and drinks are consistently excellent every single time. The young staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely great. The menu changes often and stays interesting, and the rotating selection of flavorful brews and creative libations can easily keep you here for hours. My go to salmon BLT, Reuben cheesesteak and inglorious bratwurst. Don't forget the bbq nachos, cheese curds and spice bagged wings! We come at least once a week and always bring out-of-town visitors here--everyone is impressed by the quality of the food and the warm, welcoming service. Don't skip the rotating desserts--they're always worth it. Live music on Saturdays and trivia on Tuesdays just add to the fun. If I could give this place six stars, I would. Nice new go to on our restaurant list. We came here years ago when they first opened and forgot about it. They completely redid the inside since we last visited. The atmosphere is really nice. Farmhouse/barn feeling. Food was great! Menu had some unexpected options. We started with the German pretzel. The dips were tasty (cheese and seeded mustard). Mains: I got the spice bag chicken sandwich with curry fries. Omg 10/10 so good! Husband got the pork snitzel and thought it was great. Kids both got chicken fingers and fries. They were real chicken fingers, not processed mush. Great! Kids meals came with a little squishy toy- a fan favortie. We need more places like Bierhaul in the Wilmington/Philadelphia area! Love the outdoor space with picnic tables, round tables and open grass play area. We like to come here with the kids because it's the only restaurant in the area with an outdoor play area for kids. There is a large connect four, baggo and a few soccer balls for the kids to play. The inglorious bratwurst was delicious with the buttery pretzel bread and mustard. The sangria was sweet and I enjoyed The German potato salad was very good, not traditional but tasty. The kids shared buttered noodles which are standard and they liked them. Will be back! read more

Had just a fantastic experience here on a picture perfect late spring evening. Being a beer guy I really appreciate the care taken in putting 20+ beers on tap from som of the best microbreweries in the country. The beautiful farmhouse and outdoor seating are wonderful and it was great to see kids having fun in the rolling field on the property. The night we were there they had good music going as well and our waitress was so friendly and nice. Oh jeez .... Almost forgot ... the food .... The fish and chips are the best since I was in London. Crispy outside, not greasy. The inside was perfect, flaky and firm. The fries...OMG the fries! Crispy with just the right amount of salt, tender inside. Very flavorful. Goat cheese salad was top notch with tofu and blueberries. Little hidden gem! We always drive past this place and finally gave it a try. We came on a Saturday for lunch and didn't have to wait at all for a table. The bar area is super bright and open. We sat in the side room that reminded me of a pub in Europe. The place is super kid friendly! We started with the pretzel which was hot and delicious. I got the salmon BLT which was delicious, the breast was perfectly buttered and toasted and the piece of salmon was generous. My husband got the pastrami cheesesteak which came on a pretzel roll and he loved it. We both had the truffle fries which were fine, nothing to write home about. The beer selection was extensive, I got an aperol spritz which was great. The waitress was super nice and friendly, very attentive. I did notice all the kids meals around us came out super quick sometimes before the parents even ordered which is a nice plus to keep them entertained! Got the cheese dip which was odd. I'd prefer a warm beer cheese, I guess. The bison burger was decent, but the brie was just too much. A firmer cheese would be better, IMO. My wife got the pork schnitzel and she liked the pork. She noted that the potato side was gross, but she liked the wine she got. My overall impression is $23 was far too much for that Lobster Grilled Cheese. It was very tasty. If you like creamy garlic aioli dipping sauce you will love this dipping sauce. My dad was gifted a gift card from his credit union as a customer appreciation gift. This was awesome as it allowed us to find an amazing place right in our backyard that we didn't know about. I have driven past this building for awhile but I had no idea this place existed. Is it new? We got there early in the afternoon and there was plenty of seats outside, which we took advantage of since it was a beautiful day. Outside is popular as there wasn't many seats available much longer after we were seated. My dad had a pumpkin IPA and I had a Big Hill Cider. The only feedback I would give and our server said it herself as she explained the beer menu to me is that I saw an option under the "on deck" section. Apparently that means beers and ciders that will be coming soon but aren't available now, but that wasn't clearly stated on the menu. I was all excited for an option but it's coming soon and not available now. As our server was explaining this, she mentioned this is something they should probably put on the menu to help avoid confusion. We started our meal with the crispy brussels sprouts. OMG. They were so good, crispy with pork belly, goat cheese, and apples (?!?). For our meals my dad got a smashburger which he said was really good. I got the baked mac & cheese with pork belly added and a side of truffle fries for us to split. The mac and cheese was one of the best restaurant mac and cheeses that I've had, and it is big enough for more than one meal. (I'm so excited for tomorrow!) Love this place. Nice alternative to going into the borough and dealing with the hustle and bustle of town. They have a bunch of parking which is a win right out of the gate. Family of 5 and we are always seated quickly. They're beyond family friendly and accommodating. Daughter has food allergy and they seem sensitive to restrictions. Tap list is the best around and it's not even close. Whatever style you want, they have 3-4 options that are difficult to find and a treat to enjoy. I've been there nearly 20 times and still haven't made my way through the entire menu. Kids love the chicken fingers and fries, pizzas, pretzel, and burgers. We love the salads, handhelds, soups, and the truffle mushroom pork belly pizza keeps us coming back. Everything seems fresh and made to order. Did I mention the beer list? It really is a unique place in that the kids can run off and play - they have an arcade in the "attic" and a huge outdoor patio and green space with room for so many activities. Allows my wife and me a few minutes to enjoy some time together. I've also been there without kids and they do a good job of keeping families together so you don't feel like you're in a Dave and busters while enjoying conversation at the bar. Service is top notch... from host, to server/bartender, to busser. Never feels understaffed, everyone is knowledgeable and attentive, and they seem to have mastered the art of being there when you need them and not bothering you when you don't. Never rushed which is nice because the farmhouse feel is inviting to the point you forget you're dining out. Lucky to have this place in our backyard. Heard they have airbnb rooms now too which is exciting for a destination spot and having friends in from out of town. Nice spot! I came here with my a family and we were a large group (10) and they didn't really have any space for that so we had to sit in the back of the restaurant but that was fine. We got a few appetizers to start: the sesame and sea salt pretzel ($13), the fried pickles ($10) and the cheese curds with marinara ($10) The pretzel was really good, it came with a German mustard which was great. (9.5/10) I can't speak for the fried pickles because I didn't try but I can say that the cheese curds were good. They are essentially little mozzarella sticks. For my meal I got the smash burger ($16) I thought the burger itself was good, nothing special, more or less an average burger. I asked for a side of beer cheese though which took it a notch up definitely. I also got a side of truffle fries which were great! They were the best truffle fries I've had and honestly the flavor was so interesting- something I can't put my finger on. 9/10 fries, 7.8/10 burger My sister got the Margarita pizza that she felt was bland but I had a slice and I actually liked it. It's not out of this world but I think it's a good safe option. My brother got the pork belly truffled mushroom pizza that he did not like and I did not like either. This one, despite it looking like it piled with items and flavor, tasted like nothing. Overall seems like a fun place to hang out! This place has something for everyone! They've got a great selection of beers (both draft and cans) and also creative cocktails. Plus the food menu is pretty expansive, and they also have different food specials for different days of the week. We got the Big Hill Cider. It was crisp and not too sweet. As for food, we went with appetizers/sides only. The pretzel was huge and could be split between two people. Plus the side of pickles was a nice touch. The fries were really good. The dipping sauce was a malt vinegar aioli, but I didn't get much flavor from it at all. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The inside was decorated great, and had a modern tavern type of vibe. We sat outside on the patio. There were picnic tables, patio dining tables, and some yard games for entertainment. There was plenty of outdoor seating, but the patio dining tables were very close together. It felt like we were on top of the table next to us. The waitstaff was extremely kind - top notch. They got us everything quickly and were sure to check in on us multiple times. You can tell that they are still working out the organizational kinks here, which is entirely fair given how new this place is. The food is just below average here. We've been twice and among our party have tried pizza, 3 different salads, a burger, and schnitzel. All of it was just meh. In general, a majority of the menu is fried which is not what I'm looking for. And somehow -- and this is the worst -- they have managed to ruin the vibe in the best space they have -- the bar has a beautiful fireplace and has, even for its larger size, the potential to feel cozy with exposed old beams of wood. But they wallpapered the bar with tv screens and play dance music -- loudly. Pick a direction. You can't be a cozy place with a fire, a sports bar, and a disco joint all at the same time. Total assault on the senses and the food doesn't make up for it, so we won't be back. I keep waiting for this space to be something good. Guess I'll have to wait some more.
