I am writing this review based on my brief experience at Duffer's Tavern. My family and I were recently traveling through the area when a tornado warning alert was issued. The storm surfaced almost immediately soon after the alert, causing downed trees, broken powerlines, and flying debris everywhere. It was a "shelter in place" experience as we quickly turned into Duffer's parking lot. I pulled my toddler out of the back seat and in the midst of incredibly strong wind and rain we made a mad dash to the front door (along with a number of other people seeking shelter). The employees/management at this restaurant invited us all in to shelter from the storm. Although they had just lost power, they offered drinks and gave pleasant conversation as people were starting to calm down. From the moment we walked in, the wait and bar staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The service was top-notch throughout our entire visit. The menu is HUGE with tons of options for everyone, whether you're in the mood for something light or hearty. There's also an extensive drink menu with plenty of choices to satisfy any taste. You can definitely find something new to try every time you go! For appetizers, we tried the Boom Boom Shrimp, and it did not disappoint! The shrimp were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly coated in that signature sauce. For my main, I went with the Blackened Chicken Caesar Wrap--delicious! If you get it, I highly recommend asking for some dipping sauces on the side, especially for the wrap and fries. It takes the meal to the next level. My friend ordered the Jerk Spiced Wings, which were tasty, but just a heads-up--these aren't smothered in a wet sauce, so if you're into a saucy wing, you might want to look elsewhere. A cool sports bar, with tons of TV's, great tap list, and the food was excellent. Sat for 15 minutes before our waitress came to our table. When the Waitress finally came by, she apologized for taking long to get to us and that was fine. It wasn't too busy, but we weren't in a rush, so no big deal. One person in our party was in the restroom so we told the waitress when she came back with our drinks, we would order our food. We never saw our waitress again, even walking the floor. Meanwhile, the bar was next to us and people were getting drinks almost before they sat down. After another 15-20 minutes of zero service, we left and told the 2 hostesses, we were leaving. No offer to talk to a manager to fix anything from the 2 people at the front doing nothing but chatting with each other. Seems like the place only cares about their regular bar visitors. Menu looked decent but can't comment on food or even drinks because 30+ minutes of sitting , we got absolutely nothing. I would have been happy with a water after coming in from a hot day. Stopped by duffers last night and had a great experience at this neighborhood bar. Food- for being known more as a bar than a restaurant I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here. Started with a cup of Maryland crab soup which I would highly recommend plenty of meat. After that tried the sliders and boneless wings. Sliders were good a little over cooked but the boneless wings with bumble bee sauce were amazing. Big serving size and I've never had a boneless wing with that quality of chicken. Definitely don't seem frozen and are very tender. A must try. Ambiance- this place is cool. Upstairs has a dining area and a nice big bar with plenty of tvs. There are also booths around the bar to sit as well. Great staff and a very clean establishment. It's been a while since I've been to duffers and I have to say I was very dissatisfied with the food this time. The power bowl is not what it used to be. The tater tots had an Asian flair to them which was not good. My cosmo was way to heavy on the vodka and too light on the cranberry. The live music which we came for was good! read more

Food is always good. Service is great. Our ladies group is always accommodated with attentive service and smiles.

My buddy lives nearby and we usually stop in here once or twice when I'm in town. I don't think I've ever been to the upstairs which I believe is more restaurant like and downstairs is the bar (you can also get food downstairs too). There always seems to be a good crowd and bartenders are great. The've got pool tables too! Most recently I was in town for a dual bachelor party. They rented out the downstairs space and booked Sunny Ledford to perform. We probably had close to 150 people come through while we were there and Duffers staff went above and beyond to make sure it was a perfect event. read more

Duffer's set up for us as one of the stops on the Legendary Haunt Tour. The had us as a buffet down in the pool hall portion of the bar. They provided us a nice spread of Ceaser Salad, some potatoes, some steamed veggies and some Chicken Parmesan. The waitresses were very quick to get the food set out and refilled quickly once it was emptied. They were fast to clear out plates and friendly as well. I came in to watch Sunday night football, but saw something in a staff you don't see often. I've been here a number of times (all good) when I visit the area but felt I needed to give a review this time around. There were two parties at the bar who were going through extremely rough times and the bar staff went above and beyond to make sure they were okay, service-wise and personally. Incredibly personable and empathetic. I'm in the area maybe four times a year, and always feel comfortable because of the staff, but tonight put them over the top. First time here. We picked this restaurant because it was near West Chester University where we were waiting to pickup equipment late at night. It was very busy, but we were seated immediately and our waitress was very prompt despite the busyness that night. Drinks brought out quickly and order taken fast. The home made "chips" were a delight and also the "Crabby" fries. Burgers thick and delicious, chicken corn chowder was loaded, and one of the specials was a vegetable sandwich which was larger than expected and equally delicious. Went to dinner at Duffers in Glen Mills. The food and service were good; however, we made a mathematical error when calculating the tip. The error was not intentional and we thought we were leaving approximately 20%. The waitress came back with the check and money and asked if the service was OK because the average tip was 15-18% and our tip was not there. Again food and service were good. Unintentional error calculating tip. Will not be back because I believe it is in poor taste to ask for a "bigger" tip. I do realize that wait staff depend on tips, but asking for a bigger one has lost the establishment a customer. read more

They make some of the best chicken tenders and bites anywhere, made in-house and not frozen, have excellent soups, and can make something as mundane as tater tots crispy and light, serving them different ways. The burgers are also very good. The only inconsistency is service: some waitstaff are very efficient and others quite slow; however usually all are friendly. I stopped in during happy hour on a Wednesday evening, and was glared at, and not promptly served by the grumpy middle aged bartendress. Our waitress was lovely and relatively attentive. The food was decent. Diners at our table enjoyed wings and a burger-- said they were good! The onion rings were fantastic. A couple of us had the all-you-can-eat crab legs. For the most part they were over cooked and soggy. Water would pour from the crabs and when we were done my fingers were pruned as if I was in the bath or pool too long. The upside was they still tasted decent. The size of the legs varied significantly from plate to plate. Wish they had a kids price for crab night. It's the first place in the area that we have gone to that did not offer a lower price for kids. Not sure if we would go back for crabs. It was just an ok experience.
