Very good bagels, large. I've been buying from here for a number of years now. Good with other menu items too. I especially appreciate the online ordering to pick up conveniently from inside. Small parking lot (West Chester) and it will fill up at key meal times. Some more parking in back, if an old sign is to be believed. We had some catering done, also, and it was very good. Amy is awesome and runs a great front of the house. I got an egg, steak and cheese on an everything bagel. This was the perfect bagel for a sandwich. It was Bagelaly but not hard to eat. The sliced ribeye was very flavorful. Great Sandwich, Great place, Great Amy. I usually love it here. I love the bagels and they have the best cream cheese. Although today i did not have a great experience here. Starting off I went in and ordered and realized i forgot my wallet in the car...oops. I ran out and got it and came back in and immediately got back in line to order/pay. I paid and waited for my order. When it was ready they brought it out but the lady who rung me out said I didn't pay, which understandable maybe she forgot. Then they preceded to look for it in the machine and gave up and Amber said "just take it i can't remember". This whole situation was very uncomfortable. This former New Yorker is eternally thankful to Rolling Stars. We moved to this area from New York last year and had given up on finding a good bagel in Chester County. I'm not sure how we had missed this place, but I'm sure glad we finally found it -- the bagels here are as good as those in NY. The delicious aroma of a dozen Rolling Stars Everything bagels in the car makes it hard to wait to get home before eating them. A great bagel spot in West Chester. They had a lot of options as far as bagels and cream cheeses. I like that they have a mini bagel option which is what I had. They also have a full menu of more traditional breakfast and lunch options for sit down dining. Prices are very reasonable. The process for ordering to go in person could be a little better, the area is a little cramped. Would definitely recommend checking them out. read more

Gave these guys a try this morning, even spoke with the owner, who is totally awesome. My problem is, I always order everything bagels and judge my bagel biting on two things: amount of "everything" on the bagel If toasted, is it crunchy? My everything came out with a minimal spattering of flavors and it was barely toasted. It wasn't busy at the restaurant, and the bagel was not cheap. They are large and well seasoned but if it's authenticity in texture you are looking for, keep looking. What a disappointment, dining service is lacking... well the sit down part is. If you ordered out you do not have a wait apparently. Customers in house sit and wait for service which took longer than one should tolerate. There were folks behind the counter scrambling to serve walk-ins and take out. There were a few breaks in that stream where the gentleman behind the counter was observing the dining area. Ate my food so fast I couldn't even get a picture! I'm from NJ so I've been looking for a good bagel spot that would compare to my NJ/NY bagels. Rolling Stars was pretty close! Only complaint is that if you order a breakfast sandwich as is, it won't have enough egg for my taste but you can always order extra egg. I was recently visiting some friends in the West Chester area, and we got bagels from Rolling Stars 3 of the 4 days I was there. I really love the egg everything bagel and wish other places carried it. I appreciated the affordable prices as well. One bit of criticism I do have: they seem to have some issues getting bagel toppings to....actually stick to the bagels. The everything seasoning was scarce on the egg everything bagels, and the cheese topping on the asiago cheese bagels also left something to be desired. Fix this and it's a perfect 5 stars! I found out about Rolling Stars today from a life-long local who knows I love and miss authentic NY specialties like bagels! I was skeptical hearing this place is the real deal and that the owners make amazing bagels and spreads, along with the best coffee he's ever tasted. As a former New Yorker/Jersey girl, I'm a bit biased! The first thing I did was look at the case, and was pleasantly surprised to see bagels that were risen, not flat, cooked with crispness, not raw. I met the owner who verified their LI NY and Bergen county NJ roots. I can't describe fully the delight in knowing this place knows what a bagel should be! I immediately bought a bakers dozen then moved to the cream cheese display. Wow. Fresh veggie cream cheese,..scallion, .. (my favorite), and jalapeño for my hubby. Also tried the olive and I LOVE it! My kids will love to come back for a bagel and a schmear with lox. They too remember a really good bagel from NJ. I'll be back for lunch and can't wait to try their egg salad on a garlic bagel. For the last 3 months I have religiously purchased 1 dozen bagels from Rolling Stars as I believe they are the closest to a New York Bagel I have found in Chester County. My wife "rolled" in today with my children and purchased 2 dozen bagels (where would we store them btw?) for the family. Kids being kids they wanted to eat one on the way home and one of my children likes his bagels toasted. My wife asked if one of the 28 bagels she purchased for $42 could be toasted and they said no! To do that she would need to purchase an additional bagel! They would not toast the bagel "because if they did that they'd have to do that for everybody". What a short sighted decision and policy. Talk about treating your customers like garbage. What a disappointment. Looks like I'm headed back to Country Bagel where they don't treat customers like this. read more

This review is low for the shear reason every business is facing, not enough staff. You walk in and there are only people at the counter who told us to just sit anywhere. We found one table for our family of four that was mid cleaned, as if the person wiping it off got called away. We waited a long time for drinks and it was just a lot of people and even more chaos. This is a new location so we will give them more time and go back. The food is worth the wait, just be patient, don't punish the staff for being under staffed. It is happening everywhere. read more

A clear case of one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Dysfunctional chaos at its best! We wanted to try this place out and decided to dine in. Big mistake!!! When we walked in, we had no idea what to do. Do we seat ourselves? Do we wait in the long line? When we finally reached the counter after waiting for 10min, we were told to seat ourselves. We sat down and waited another 10min for a waitress to come and greet us. We ordered 2 coffees, one Taylor ham egg & cheese sandwich on a kaiser roll (as the menu did specify choice of bagel, toast, or kaiser roll), and 2 eggs over easy with an everything bagel with lox cream cheese spread. The waitress left to put in our order and then came back saying "we don't have kaiser rolls, don't know why they are on the menu" The Breakfast sandwich was surprisingly good and filling. Loved the bagel chips that came on the side. The lox cream cheese was definitely not fresh, with the smoked salmon being brown/gray in color. It even had a funky odor. Upon checkout, again we had to wait again in the long line where there was complete chaos. People coming in not knowing where to go, people trying to pay their checks after dining in, and online orders coming in. There was absolutely no organization and the staff seemed overwhelmed behind the counter looking totally confused. The customers seemed frustrated as there was no set line for online orders, take out, or paying your checks and it completely lacked order. We waited about 15min in line simply to just pay our check. We will definitely not be coming back nor will we be ordering online as the experience would be identical and long winded as our food gets cold. With all the many options West Chester offers, there is no reason to come here and waste your time! read more
