A clear case of one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Dysfunctional chaos at its best! We wanted to try this place out and decided to dine in. Big mistake!!! When we walked in, we had no idea what to do. Do we seat ourselves? Do we wait in the long line? When we finally reached the counter after waiting for 10min, we were told to seat ourselves. We sat down and waited another 10min for a waitress to come and greet us. We ordered 2 coffees, one Taylor ham egg & cheese sandwich on a kaiser roll (as the menu did specify choice of bagel, toast, or kaiser roll), and 2 eggs over easy with an everything bagel with lox cream cheese spread. The waitress left to put in our order and then came back saying "we don't have kaiser rolls, don't know why they are on the menu" The Breakfast sandwich was surprisingly good and filling. Loved the bagel chips that came on the side. The lox cream cheese was definitely not fresh, with the smoked salmon being brown/gray in color. It even had a funky odor. Upon checkout, again we had to wait again in the long line where there was complete chaos. People coming in not knowing where to go, people trying to pay their checks after dining in, and online orders coming in. There was absolutely no organization and the staff seemed overwhelmed behind the counter looking totally confused. The customers seemed frustrated as there was no set line for online orders, take out, or paying your checks and it completely lacked order. We waited about 15min in line simply to just pay our check. We will definitely not be coming back nor will we be ordering online as the experience would be identical and long winded as our food gets cold. With all the many options West Chester offers, there is no reason to come here and waste your time! read more

Really great place to stop by and grab some coffee and a bagel. Haven't dined in yet so I can't attest to that, but their takeout options are fantastic. They make humongous bagels. I'm always stuffed if I try and finish a whole bagel sandwich. My son loves the colors on the rainbow bagel. And my wife (who drinks coffee everywhere) tell me that their cappuccino is delicious. I used to love this place but they consistently get my order wrong. I ask for well done bacon and egg bc I'm pregnant (specify this explicitly over the phone every time) and it continues to be completely raw to the point where I either have to take the bacon out and reheat or throw the sandwich away. I gave Rolling Stars another chance and I'm very pleased with this time. I was there on a Friday this time, around 10:30/11am. I was able to phone ahead and my order was still warm and exactly ready when I asked to it to be. The staff were noticeably more helpful and friendlier this time around. I did notice what seemed to be the manager helping the employees and making sure things were running smoothly. I also noticed there were plenty of bagels still left, and they still looked very fresh. I actually took my bagel and had it later, and i re-heated it up to get it even toastier... and it was still very delicious. I'm glad to have gave Rolling Stars another chance, and I'm happy to recommend getting your breakfast/brunch here! I am not sure how they are doing to accommodate for the lack of social distancing in regards to the line (because there was no line when I arrived), but I hope they have fixed that issue. I stopped in Friday morning to grab a dozen bagels to go and to see what all the Facebook chatter was about. I got there around 8:15 am and was about the fourth person in line. There was a table of four sitting in the restaurant eating breakfast but most people were ordering to go. As a high-risk individual, I was disappointed that they didn't offer curbside service or the capability to order and pay online ahead of time but maybe that service is on the horizon. But, I'm always looking for a good bagel so into the store I went. Standing in line, I could tell that they were out of a lot of bagel flavors but they don't have the bagel flavors listed anywhere so you can't see what you want to order or what's left before you get up to the counter. The space seemed like it was designed for customers to start lining up at the back of the restaurant and walk toward the front of the restaurant which would give you a full view of all the items they have to offer. Instead, the line started at the door which leads to the cash registers then you have to excuse yourself from the cashier to go down the counter to see what they have to offer. The person that helped me, while extremely nice, didn't really seem like he knew what was going on... it didn't really seem like any of them had a good grasp on the flow of things. I asked what flavors were left but then a lady behind the counter interrupted my conversation with the associate and then I was left standing there waiting to get the associate's attention back. At that point, there were a ton of people in the store and I felt the sudden urgency to get out of there as quickly as possible. I ordered a dozen blueberry bagels with a container of strawberry cream cheese because I didn't know what other flavor options there were. I was told that I should go wait for my order to be filled and then pay when it's ready. I was standing, crowded with quite a few other people and the only place to wait was basically in the area where people would normally be eating under non-COVID circumstances. I watched as the lady placed her entire bare hand and arm into my brown bag to fill it up with bagels. She did use a plastic sheet to pick up the bagels though. I was called up to collect and pay for my order. I was asked to sign my receipt and when asked if the pens were sanitized, I was given a bottle of hand sanitizer. The bagels and cream cheese were very good and I'm glad I got a dozen because I'll happily eat more. With that said, I won't be going back to Rolling Stars unless they find a more COVID friendly way of handling the flow of their customers and finding a better way to pay and pickup. read more

Hubs stopped into this new local place to pick up lunch for us and the kiddos. PRO: sandwiches were good. This provides a nice alternative to the big chains. Location is convenient, easy in and out CON: although the staff were friendly, the manager was not. They didn't have things in stock (makes sense) but she wasn't friendly about it at all. This new bagel place isn't good -- it's GREAT! I've gone twice now and it's just as good as the first time. Love that they have Taylor brand pork roll, my favorite! The first time I went it was fast and was in and out quickly, the second definitely took much longer but it was a Saturday morning, what else do you expect with a new breakfast place on a weekend?! Confusing. I walked in the door and was confused as to what to do. There were a lot of customers kinda just standing around but also in a loose line so I just had to ask everyone if they'd already ordered (turns out 75% were just waiting for their orders). I had intended to sit at a table to eat- it looks like one of those places where you order at the counter then you sit wherever you want. Turns out they do actually have table service but this is in no way clear. There's one sign on a trash can that says "please respect our servers, tables are for dine-in customers only" - I saw this after I had ordered and was waiting for my food. The woman at the register wasn't friendly. I ordered a sausage/egg/cheese bagel sandwich. It was fine but nothing special, as someone else commented there was way too much bagel. I really like Rolling Stars! I work a couple minutes away and we've ordered lunch for the office a few times now and every time it's been great. We haven't had a sandwich yet that we haven't liked. I'm impressed by how fresh and perfectly ripe the avocado is. The Mediterranean chicken is my fav menu item, I like to get it on a wheat wrap. The chicken Caesar pasta salad is super unique, rich and flavorful. The bagels are all yummy and the bagel chips that come with sandwiches are a great touch! Really liked our visit this morning. Want to give this review 4.5 stars! Dined in with my wife and two kids. There were plenty of spaced tables at which to sit. Very attentive waiter, quick with the waters and kept us notified of the status of our food and drinks every time he walked by. Bagels are obviously their forte. Met the owner (I believe): he came out and asked how everything was. He's from Long Island originally before coming here to West Chester. Very friendly guy, took the time to explain to my 5 year old how they go about making their very cool rainbow bagels. Coffees were also excellent (I had an espresso...strong with sweet notes...my wife had a latte...also delicious and not "too milky" like some places tend to do). Also going for them is the space: well designed, clean, modern tiling in entrance, painted white brick accent walls, nice lighting, and clean bathrooms (with listerine and little cups if you wish to freshen up!). The slight con of the meal was the 3-egg Western omelette we ordered. Please note it wasn't terrible, but a bit light on the egg portion (thin-walled omelette), and didn't notice any cheese (but couldn't remember at the time what the menu mentioned). The filling meats and veggies tasted fresh, however, and the home fries were cooked very nicely. Will certainly come back to continue trying what looked like a great menu. I love Rolling Stars; so much so that I drive 25 minutes just to get their bagels. It's extremely disappointing, however, when you get home and find burnt bagels as part of your dozen that you pay $18 for. I would like to say this is the first time it's happened but there's at least 1-3 burnt bagels in my dozen every time I go. I understand bagels can overcook but throw them out - don't serve them to your customers! It's really disappointing to have to throw out something we pay for, instead of you serving quality cooked bagels every time. read more

Excellent breakfast spot! Had a spinach tomato and feta omelette and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Had plenty of all the ingredients so worth every penny. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a delightful treat. Coffee was strong and delicious. And then there was the fresh made bagel - I died and went to heaven! Food good; service sucked. I just came back from breakfast at the stars from my initial visit. We were seated right away but the waitress had to be told to come to our table. Mind you the place was not that crowded at noon time. My wife ordered the BLT and I ordered the French toast with no almonds. The waitress never wrote our order down and my French toast was delivered with almonds on it. I'm not allergic to nuts so I just scraped them off, but that did piss me off. The waitress never checked on us and me and my wife were watching her yap it up at other tables. I'm not going to blame this on lack staff rather it was lack of effort on her part. Friendly and prompt searing and service. Bagels were excellent... I wouldn't hesitate to bring my extended family from Brooklyn here, as the bagels our table ordered did not disappoint. We were dining with an out of town family members, (all vaccinated, so no head shaking, please) who said that the lox alone made his whole flight here worth it. Cream cheese selection is impressive and delicious. Also noteworthy: there is a parking lot, and free parking this close to the borough of West Chester is always much appreciated.
