Easily the best bagel around, it's not even close. You will drive out of your way for these bagels and once you have them you won't get bagels from anywhere else ever again. The place doesn't look like much and it could use a deep clean but I don't even care, the bagels are so good he could be selling them out of a hole in the wall and I'd drive out of my way to get them. This is one of those places that when you go, you have to check with your friends and family if they want anything because if they see you got a bagel and didn't ask them if they wanted one they'll be mad. read more

Drove by this place a few times not knowing exactly what it was. Stopped in and got some of the best bagels I've ever had. Had a chocolate cheesecake brownie that was amazing. And the cream cheese schmear must be fresh made because it was the absolute most amazing Schmear I've ever had in my life. These bagels are the very best I have ever had. We always get 6 banana walnut, 6 cinnamon raisin & one plain (1 dozen plus one free). They slice them (if you want) they give you freezer bags since we eat them over 10 -12 days. We stopped here for breakfast to try it out as our usual breakfast place was closed. They have a large selection of bagels and other baked goods. We got a bacon, egg & cheese, sausage, egg & cheese and a cream cheese bagel. The bagels had good flavor but there wasn't much bacon on the BEC. Some of the bagels were on the smaller side compared to other places I've been to. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly. The restaurant is a very classic bagel place with the bagel case display. We would come back here again. read more

Wow!!!! I'm a tough grader but this 80s looking place in a small strip mall in Broomall just made me the best bagel I've ever had .... Yep tried a few in NY lots in Philly - found it in Broomall! The egg, sausage and cheese were all perfectly cooked and the toasted everything bagel .... Wow. No sit down service but the two ladies working there were Sooooo nice! Finally, an oasis in this bagel desert I have been living in the last two years! I love a good bagel and the places recommended around me only serving plain or everything bagels weren't cutting it at all. Nor were the Dunkin's of the world who don't know or don't care enough to actually toast their bagels. Original has saved me from these abominations and also saved me from driving back into the city any time I want a decent bagel. This place has every flavor you could imagine. I went later in the morning and they weren't out of anything yet either. I opted for my go to, cinnamon raisin toasted dark with cream cheese. And I am so happy to say they actually toasted it dark. The ladies who helped me were so lovely and made sure it was toasted well. The self serve coffee was great as well. In addition to bagels they have a bunch of other baked goods offerings that I am sure I will try one of these days. But for now I can't wait to go back and get a few more delicious quality bagels that I have been so missing in my life. read more

This place is very fast paced, there is no seating or restrooms so they definitely want you in and out of there. The staff is straight forward and fast! The food was very good. Don't know what I'd do without this place. It's the holidays and we always have a breakfast with bagels, lox, whitefish etc. But thru out the year I love their everything and salt bagels. These are made New York style. Smooth shiny exterior and thick heavy doughy inside. ( and typical NYer I take the inside dough out so I can spend more calories on the cream cheese). They also have really great cream cheese selections. Today I got the garlic and herb,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,uhhhh make that almost pure garlic. Delicious. And I'm a fan of the scallion cream cheese as well. AND...........................I splurged on the $18/POUND Chocolate chip biscotti. It's so good we only came home with a few pieces. We ate the rest on the way. Growing up I remember eating frozen Lender's bagels. They were the real deal but frozen. Bagels were not a staple bread at diners and there were not any franchise bagrl chains. Growing up in the DC suburbs I was lucky to be near a Jewish community and could get real boiled bagels at a real bagel store so I am pretty picky. There are "baked" bagels, Montreal style bagels, bagels injected with steam, frozen dough then baked. Nothin beats NYC as it is the bagel kingdom. I tried several boiled bagel shops in the a Philly area that are authentic and yummy but this place is the best place close to my house. I ordered a bagel tray for Thanksgiving and the bagels were delicious. The perfect chewy texture! I was expecting the bialys to be flat and bread like but it may be just the style. Get there early as they sell out and close at 2 pm. Early birds get them hot at 5am. Also have cookies and pastry . I will be back for more! read more

I have seen this place while picking up chinese from the place next door and figured I'd jump in to see if they sold bagel sandwiches for future reference. I was greeted by the owner upon entry, who explained what they had. I inquired if they bagels were made on site and learned the history of the place with him being a 5th generation bagel baker. He was even interested in my suggested bagel topping and vowed to give it a try. I was asked by the wife to bring a few home to try and after picking 8, it made more sense to pay the extra $2 for 5 more bagels getting a "true" baker's dozen. While most places will dump all bagels into a single bag, the owner bagged the everything bagels separately due to the salt, and tossed in a few freezer bags in case we needed to store any - some extra perks. The wife decided that pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwiches on a bagel were the dinner menu - The bagels were outstanding and true to flavor. Even the kids, not knowing that these weren't regular supermarket bakery bagels commented on how good the bagels were. Next morning it was discovered that the bag was left open, because apparently "someone" needed a midnight snack and didn't close the bag back up (evil glare). Expecting disappointment, the bagels were still fresh, and we had toasted bagels with cream cheese for breakfast (The veggie cream cheese is awesome), and then I made a ham & cheese sandwich with mayo, lettuce, and tomato on a toasted jalapeno bagel to take with me to work. After sitting wrapped up for a few hours in the kegerator (don't ask), it was amazing! This place has their act together, bagels are fantastic and superior to any you'd get in those supermarket bakeries by leaps and bounds. The Mrs. made it clear that when she wants bagels she'll be texting me her order when I am at work so I can swing by and grab them. After eating a bagel with each of my last three meals, I may have to put a little extra effort in at the gym. I highly recommend this place, even if you have to travel a bit (like we do) to get them. Note: This review only covers the bagels, and their cream cheese spreads. If I ever get around to trying the sandwiches, I will update my review to include them.
