Food review only; for takeout. The short rib is delicious. I've had it at least 8 times now and it's only been dry/off once. Potatoes, sauce, carrots are always delicious. Staff is usually pleasant and on time. We tip for thanks for doing the takeout and go on our way. Haven't had occasion to dine in with a young child and a busy schedule, but will as soon as possible... and I'll be getting the short rib! :-)

The food was amazing! I would come back. The prime rib was so delicious and giant. We got our main course took about 20 min(4 people). Probably the only problem was the construction glue was poking through the decor.(kid review)

Be careful that what is discussed with Shane Diggen is reflected in your bill (that is generated from the start of planning an event)! This was a brunch for 32 people and we had asked as one of our first questions in deciding on the venue whether we were required to take the $25 pp bottomless mimosas package. That was an additional $800 in addition to the food cost. We had agreed verbally to do a consumption bar and pay per drink including a specialty cocktail that was $12 each. Our bill ended up including $270 consumption bar plus $800. There was no way guests drank $800 mimosas or belinis. There was not a room rental like many other venues we looked at but other venue rentals were not $1000. If we had know this we would have booked elsewhere. We contested the bill with no acknowledgment of our original arrangement.

I ordered the Gnocchetti Mongelli (ricotta gnocchi, brown butter, roasted pistachio crumble, dried blueberries, fresh parmesan). Warning!! Flavor punch in your mouth! I especially loved each bite with the pistachio crumble and the dried blueberries, mmmmmm. The brown butter for me was a lot, so I had to put some of it on a side plate so that it wasn't so saturated. Some people may love that, but I love to taste everything and not have one thing over power just something to think about before you order. My friend had a Spicy Crab Vodka (lumache, crab, vodka sauce, red chili, anchovy bread crumb, fresh parmesan). He said it had a generous portion of crab and the vodka sauce was more flavorful than spicy. We were seated on the second floor. I wish we were by the windows, but it was gorgeous in there. The servicer was very nice and prompt!

We got seated right behind the live music and I'm so glad we asked to move since we got the cozy fireplace table and there's no way we could have heard eachother otherwise. The chairs were weirdly uncomfortable and seemed a mix of styles. When everything else called to be cozy that was an odd misstep in a cold winter night. They were out of a handful of things but they did have a super extra special menu to try. We had to sample the mashed potato balls but honestly they were dense and dry without a lot of flavor. If you mixed with the sauce they were ok but don't really recommend. The stews were amazing, and the shepherds pie will absolutely take you back to the island, and huge portions. The yak burger really tasted great but it was one of those "too huge to fit" type of burgers so be aware. The desserts really weren't inspiring so we skipped. This is very popular and the bar area was totally packed when we headed out. I'd say worth going but ask for where you want to sit and be prepared to just take awhile.

A live guitarist was setting up for the evening in the space between the two rooms. He started playing just after we were seated, and it was a bit loud from the proximity, but a member of our party asked if we could move. After checking with the hostess, we were whisked away to a cozier table by the room's fireplace. Given the cold weather, it was quite nice. That table also had some more comfortable seats, so I'm glad they could accommodate the switch. Our server was quite personable, and took good care of us as we ordered drinks and waited for the rest of our group. She did need to check on some menu items and they had some sold our dishes, but there were plenty of options still. When the food came, one of our entrees had a small mix up, but it was resolved before the rest of our food made it out. My shepherd's pie filling was deliciously rich. The mashed potatoes on top were broiled to crispy perfection. I didn't love the bread on the side, but I had more than enough pie to fill me up. Overall, I'd love to go back and try some other menu options.

Dinner was only a few hours off, but a bit too soon for a full lunch. However, the menu got the best of us and we ended up ordering a bunch of little things which ended up being far too much, but definitely in a good way. The space is quirky with a wonderful neo-mod design that is very eye catching and makes great use of the old diner aesthetic of the previous space, while improving upon it a hundredfold by making it much classier but not over the top. It does feel decidedly like a 1960's Italian locale out of a Roger Moore or Sean Connery era Bond film; to great effect. Another thing I loved about the design is that it feels compact but not small. I dislike huge restaurants, and love the family owned vibe, and this space occupies the very nice Goldilocks zone between being 'just right'. The food was good and I will get to that, but what really made our experience was our outstanding, amazing, dare I say...... legendary server, Alice. She was just flat out hands down an all around pro with a great attitude, a kind smile, and a wonderful personality who knew exactly how to keep a table like ours happy, engaged, and ready to come back again. This is something that I feel has been missing in so many places since Covid occurred, and encountering someone as great as Alice just really made the whole time there a notch above. Finally getting to the food, which was obviously delicious, there was nothing that was absolutely mind blowing, but all of it was very unique and extremely well prepared and flavorful. I did like that not everything was tomato-centric on the menu and there was a vast variety of different dishes that match the uniqueness of the space. The highlight for me was the carrot soup, not an every day item, that was nice and heavy with cumin. Brilliant flavors but not too forward, which followed our caprese dip that was an outstanding take on a dish that everyone loves, but is overdone at this point. The bread they are serving here is insanely good; either lightly toasted or grilled quickly on a flat grill, I am not sure, but slathered with high quality olive oil and it's perfectly soft, crispy, crusty, and chewy all at the same time. Testa Rossa is definitely worth checking out, and we only went for a few small plates with the intention of it being a snack. Apparently the family has more than one location, although I am not sure where the others are. If you are near Glen Mills, it is definitely worth the trip to stop in here and give them a try. Oh, and don't forget to pair your food with the super cool espresso martini tower, because you get to choose the flavors, but I'm still sticking with classic as my favorite!

It looks a lot nicer inside than the previous restaurant. Now the important part. The food. Absolutely incredible. I am still disappointed I didn't try this place earlier. We started with the goat cheese lollipops (amazing), Mezze, and calimari (high quality). After the first bite, I knew we were in for a great dinner. For the main course, I ordered the Rigatoni & my wife ordered the pork chop. Both were top notch. I love a good old fashioned and I enjoy other people's takes on this. It's called Izzy's because at its core it's a casual Izakaya where you can enjoy sushi, bao, drinks, and more without even needing a reservation (https://www.phillymag.com/foobooz/2025/05/28/izzys-cocktail-bar-izakaya-ardmore/) four nights a week. But its all a passion project from the Ripplewood team that does all that with a good fusion twist that yields very little confusion. Your old fashioned might come with an aged dark rum instead of a whiskey, your salmon hand roll might be the perfect lox bagel without the bagel, and your bao bun might come birria taco style, and all of the above are absolute serendipity! The menu does shift regularly enough to the point where you'll find at least one new favorite among old staple with each visit, and you also want to be prepared to find out about specials and get spot-on recommendations from the welcoming staff. For cocktails I've immensely enjoyed their versions of dark & stormy's, olde fashioned's, the Last Word (https://www.phillymag.com/foobooz/2025/06/19/izzys-ardmore-last-word/), and then some. But they also have a weel rounded selection of Japanese whiskeys, and you best believe that they have Hitachino Nest beer! For food I've enjoyed the following; Salmon Philly Handroll - The perfect lox bagel without the bagel comes with sushi grade salmon, creme fraiche, and everything bagel spice in a seaweed wrap. Hokkaido Scallop Handroll - the perfect buttery scallops with an umami bomb speak for themselves! Miso Soup - You haven't had miso soup until you had this freshmaker version that perfectly serves two. Hands down the best version I've ever had! Nigiri - All the nigiri, all of it is good! Spicy Cucumbers - the perfect chilled vegetable to share with the table with a bit of spice and flavor that rivals my belove Han Dynasty and Dan Dan versions! Birria Bao Buns - Somehow the best queso free birria I've had might not come with a taco?! My favorite seat is the window booth that overlooks all of downtown Ardmore. But my second favorite is standing so I can play a free game of pinball!
