PJ Whelihan's occupies an essential space for me. Especially when the whole family, including my youngest daughter wants to go out for something to eat. She is very picky about what she likes and luckily for some reason PJ's has several things on their menu that she enjoys and will actively order. It's actually one of the only places I have ever seen her put real thought into what she is going to get because she is attempting to decide between the different options available to her. I am also a big fan of their Cobb salad. There is nothing all that special about it; I am just a fan of their flavor spread and mix they choose for their Cobb and I love that it comes on a long rectangular plate. Everyone else is also always able to find something here that they will be happy with, which is also a big plus. There is nothing great and there is nothing bad about PJ's and it sits right in this Goldilocks zone where you can always know you'll simply be satisfied with your order, regardless of what it is. If you're one of those people who nitpicks every little detail in a chain restaurant, then I expect you to be right at home here, ruining the lives of the staff who are mostly younger, simply trying to make their way on to something else in their lives with a stop along the way in foodservice at this upgraded sports bar, tchotchke type restaurant. The menu is extensive and I have never had a problem in the multiple times that I have been to any of the multiple locations they boast. If there is a PJ Whelihan's near you, which there probably is, you should go. It will likely be a good experience and the food is good. It could possibly turn into a place you end up going frequently. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. They also have a rotating draft beer menu that isn't ever going to leave you enthralled, but it's enough to keep you entertained and coming back for a meal every once and a while, and that's good enough! read more

I went here for the first time, and it is my last time. This food tasted like garbage, and I waited 2 hours for it. I got rice and chicken at a chain restaurant, not a great choice, but I gave it a chance. They then brought out my food, called my number, I said it was mine and they refused to give it to me. Then they came back 45 minutes later with some cold, terrible chicken rice and broccoli. I hated this stupid restaurant and I came here to have a nice dinner with my son's hockey team. I hope to get a response from the owner or I will warn the whole state to never come here. I came at the one near Hershey. Overall, this place deserves to shut down and get 0 stars for every rating. The food was horrendous and I wanted to throw up right then and there. Never, ever am I coming back to this horrid place. To everyone who reads never come either. We have been going to PJ Whelihan's in Broomall on a weekly basis. The food is great and the service is exceptional. Mary is a wonderful server who is kind, friendly, and accommodating. We have enjoyed both times she took care of us. On two other occasions, we were fortunate to have Alvin as our server. There was an instant rapport with him because of his very friendly demeanor. We will continue to ask for both Mary and Alvin since they make the dining experience that much more fun and pleasant. read more

Had their Wagyu Beef Sandwich and I was sick the next day....beef was probably OK but their beef gravy must have had some strange ingredients. I won't be back there anytime soon. I stopped in for a quick bite during Happy Hour and it was a much needed break during Christmas shopping! The Shrimp Tacos were prepared perfectly and were absolutely delicious. The 5 Garlic Parmesan Wings were part of the Happy Hour menu...delicious and discounted! I am a huge fan of Espresso Martinis. I like them with or without Bailey's Irish Cream. I opted for with Bailey's Irish Cream and it was perfection. A woman sitting next to me at the bar asked what it was. She guessed a Chocolate Martini. I explained how it was made and she said she'd definitely try it the next time she was there. The staff in Broomall is always pleasant and attentive. I really njoy going there. Came on 2 separate occasions. Good experience both times. Waitresses were nice and helpful answering our questions with the menu. Food is average. Fries and tots were crispy. Chicken very sauced up. Serving staff and the cooks are amazing, but the few managers I dealt with I cannot say the same about. Brand new location with lots of flat-screens to watch the Philles, Eagles or Flyers games. Young, cute female servers who hustle their butts off fetching decent booze and over priced American bar food. Excellent ($10) grilled cheese sandwiches. The Happy Hour here is a good value. My husband and I came here and each had 2 drinks and a 5-piece boneless wings, plus shared sweet potato fries for $40. Service was fine at the bar. We didn't have to wait long for drinks and the server was good about coming by before the end of Happy Hour to see if we wanted another round. Sweet potato fries with horseradish sauce were VERY good. The fries were crunchy and substantial -- easily better than most I've had. The boneless wings were WAY overdone. The chicken was shrunken, rubbery, and hard to cut/bite. Sauces were fine, but if you are looking for wings, there are easily 10 other places that are better than this. I had a great time at pjs. my servers name was Cameran and she was very friendly. She recommended me a burger, I couldn't remember the name of the burger because I got lost in her eyes but it was a pretty good burger! There was potato chips and a big dill pickle with the burger but I didn't eat those because i'm watching my saturated fats. Restaurant also had live music and it was pretty good but I toned out most of it because Cameran sat down with me and talked with me since I was alone which was very nice of her.
