Bogart's is an okay neighborhood spot for a cup of soup and a sandwich, but nothing out of the ordinary. If you're looking for a burger and fries, then you should be good to go here - otherwise, I'd recommend opting elsewhere. Very few lighter fare/vegetable options to choose from - and when I did order one of few salads on the menu, it arrived with wilted leaves that tasted like they'd been sitting on a refrigerator shelf for a few days too long. The turkey sandwich was decent - but that was about the only redeeming quality of the meal. As a whole, Bogart's was a disappointing experience -overly high price tag, and underwhelmingly average food. read more

My rec hockey team comes here after games on occasion and it's a nice little bar. I would probably give it a bit higher review, but I've only had a few beers here and one food item off the menu. It was roast beef, gravy, and cheddar cheese over the top of tater tots. For bar food, it was actually really delicious. My teammates have ordered a lot of different items that all look to be well prepared, but I don't want to judge based off the look of their meals. read more

I finally had a chance to try one of Bogart's sandwiches and I was mightily impressed. I choose the "Ragin Cajun"- Grilled Cajun chicken breast topped with provolone cheese & Italian hot peppers. It was served on a Kaiser role with ranch for $8.99. I substituted waffle fries for an extra buck. When I picked this sandwich up it was very heavy. The chicken breast was huge and juicy and nicely spiced. The roll was toasted. The waffle fries were amazing and well worth the extra buck. This is pub food at its best. Of course I was able to wash it down with a great selection of craft beers. Now that I've tried the food twice I'm moving up 1 star to 4. This place is really worth a look and a taste! read more

I will never go to Gatsby's, Bogart's, Martin's Taphouse, or any other establishment owned by the same owner. It was not for the food, because it was actually good, it was not for the service as it was rather acceptable, and it was not for the people that were actually working as they seemed rather nice. It was for the one bartender that kept reminding everyone that she worked there as a bartender but also continually pushing her politics on the people. I went out for a cigarette, and this older blonde lady, not quite 50s, followed me after questioning certain details of my girlfriends status. She was very offended by the fact that I would not take a side to politics. As a disabled veteran, whom serve this country honorably, I think I have the right to take that position. I was out with my Moroccan girlfriend, whom happens to be here legally, to have a good time and support my fellow disabled veterans for a charitable event called " The poker run for wounded heroes", run by the same owner of the aforementioned establishments. Waste of time. Waited for a table 15 minutes, waited for service and never received utensils or water. Finally ordered and 45 minutes later we walked out since no appetizers or food ever came. I did some research to find the best Burger in my area and came across Bogart's. I was NOT disappointed. I ordered the LK burger...American cheese and a fried egg... Mike had the cowboy burger. Both were juicy and delicious. Judy the bartender is warm and welcoming. The bar itself if small and low-key. A local place that I can definitely see spending the afternoon at. My wife and I went on a Sunday night for the first time. The service wasn't good but there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant there was one other table in our section but it was a large group of at least 15 maybe more and there was another section on the other side of the place with a few full tables. I got the N.Y. Strip steak and it wasn't much to rave about it came with some onion rings on top of the steak they were pretty good, mashed potatoes with gravy that tasted like instant potatoes from a box not good at all, string beans and corn that lacked flavor. My wife got a Chicken Cheese Steak which is something she usually doesn't get and she said it was aright nothing special the roll was good though. One good thing is if you like craft / micro beer they have a good selection believe they have 27 different beers on tap. I don't know how this place keeps getting rated so harshly! The service is great and they do, in fact, have a great selection of crafts to suit any taste. Despite what others have said, I find the food prices to be very reasonable for what you are getting. Every thing I've had here has been delicious- from the roast turkey to the chicken parmesan to the fried pickles, wings, chilli and burgers (DEFINITELY try their burgers!). As far as drink prices are concerned, yes, they are on the higher end as opposed to your typical neighborhood bar but their overhead has got to be pretty steep given the location (strip mall). That being said, I don't find them to be unreasonable. Don't be scared off by the negative reviews. Try it out, I highly doubt you'll be disappointed! Added bonus, Tuesday nights they have one of the most fun trivia nights I have ever gone to. Chuck is a great host and, unlike some of the other quizzos I've been to, this one is very engaging and you don't need a doctorate or a 10 person team to win one of the 10 rounds he offers. Was taken there by a friend who raved about their turkey. Bartender got my boys drink wrong off the bat... I went to take a piss, WTF should be condemned, don't try to tell me this passed yearly code inspection! Order placed, thank God I wasn't able to see the kitchen. Took 2 drinks down & ice eaten to get our food to go.... Needless to say I think I dodged a bullet when they got my order wrong: they're signature sandwich WITHOUT the Cajun sauce. You cannot beat the beer selection in DELCO anywhere if you enjoy an excellent choice of micro-brews. I have been here several times and the bar crowd is always very friendly. This place has really excellent food and some of the most amazing soup I've ever had, but the PRICES kill it. It's standard Center City prices ($10-$14 for a sandwich), but we're in DelCo, it shouldn't be that much. Everything comes with homemade chips, but if you want a different side, it's an extra $2.00, which is pretty nuts. I understand for waffle fries, but for a cup of coleslaw or potato salad? Two bucks? Mashed potatoes, two bucks? Also they make a big deal about having something like 42 beers on tap, but its 42 beers from like 6 different breweries (Yards, Fat Tire, Victory, Clown Shoes etc etc), so there really isn't much variety. A ton of similar IPA's, some Porters, and maybe a couple ciders. The beer prices are not listed ANYWHERE and they tend to get expensive. My beer, which is normally a $4.50-$5 dollar beer was $7. And they have drink specials every night, but here's the catch YOU HAVE TO BE SITTING AT THE BAR TO GET THE DRINK SPECIALS! That's a dumb idea. Open the drink specials up to everyone and actually list your beer prices and maybe I'll come back for your delicious lobster bisque. read more

This is based on a quick bite and a drink on a Sun. afternoon. I gotta say I was pretty impressed with what I saw/had. Great beer selection, and I stuck with old faithful Hoegardten. BF had her g&t, all cold, good, well made (you'd be surprised) and we shared onion rings and french fries. I know. Healthy, eh? What was good about these standard items was the sauces on the side. This is still my favorite place for a casual lunch and dinner. We are pretty much regulars now. I've been pleased with everything I've had. I love the updated menu. There are so many new options now, including about 11 or more types of burgers and their burgers are probably the best I've ever had. I'm a little sad that the crab cakes were only on the menu during Lent though. Now I have to find a new crab cake place until next year during Lent. I love the homemade potato chips that come with sandwiches now although I do get the fire fries or waffle fries sometimes instead. The shrimp and pasta is also one of my favorites. My daughter swears they have the best chicken parmesan she's ever had, which is quite a compliment, since that's all she ever gets at Italian restaurants. The drinks are consistently great, nice and strong (the way I like them). My husband usually gets a beer. Came here recently with a few friends after a golf tournament for a few drinks. Seemed like a lot of regulars and took a while for the bartender to approach us. They claim to have over 40 beers on tap but every time we made a selection, they said they were out of it. Had to settle for a beer I didn't enjoy. Food was mediocre at best. The place smelled like a sewer line backed up inside of it and you could actually hear people in the kitchen arguing and yelling. Bar was sticky and not clean at all. Well, place is not a good place to eat. If you want just to have a drink or two go ahead. But don't go there with a girlfriend or wife. A lot of people at the bar drinking, very noisy, the food is not worth trying. We ordered one appetizer and two entries, got two appetizers and two entries. And they made us pay for the second appetizer we didn't even order!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! If I could give this restaurant a zero, I would. I've worked in the restaurant business all my life and NEVER have I ever treated a customer the way I was treated tonight. I ordered $60 worth of food and received the incorrect order which consisted of a chicken quesadilla and sweet potato fries. I completely understand that mistakes happen, I have made mistakes in the past too. I simply called the restaurant to inform them of the confusion so that I could hopefully get the food I ordered. Absolutely terrible service! We decided to try out Bogarts for a girls night out. We arrived, got our first round of drinks and the bartender, Heather, carded one of my friends and not the other. We're a group of women in our mid-30's and early 40's. Immediately, my friends noted that she was rude to them, but we shook it off. After enjoying our first drink, I went up to order the next ones. Heather asked for my id and I showed it to her. I began to explain to her that it is expired, but that I could show her the paperwork in my purse that shows that I renewed it and I had my birth certificate to show my age of 37. She then started to yell and curse at me, telling me I had to leave and that she cards everyone and that she cannot accept my ID, even with those docs. I asked her name and then she really lost it on me! I am not rating the establishment one star because they were not going to serve me a drink. I am rating it one star because of the way the bartender, Heather, reacted. It was unnecessary to start yelling at me and use the f-word profusely! I left right away, as I was not about to feed into her temper tantrum. When I left, an older man followed me outside and continued to berate me. I felt unsafe and luckily, was able to find my friends before he followed me to my car. We just moved to the area and wanted to try local. The service and food were horrible. I ordered the roast beef which was so tough you could not even chew it. My husband can eat anything but failed at trying to eat this meal. His food was barely edible. Waitress did not even check in on us. We had no silverware and drink refills never! Today October 22, 2012, I called and made my order of one of the entree's featured in the menu (Fried Flounder), the young lady told be that it does come with two sides, after placing my order, she tells me they don't have any baked pototes ready, so i said thats fine just give me fries. 10 minutes later i went to pick up my order, there were people inside but no host present, I stood waiting for 5mins before any one came to greet me. The young lady who greeted me was very polite and friendly. As i get back to work, i realized that i had only one side and not two. This creates a problem for me because i am pressed for time, i get 30mins to eat before entering back to work. I had to go back and let them know they forgot my side of fries. The young lady went into the kitchen to tell the guy he forgot my side, and he argued back with her saying that i never ordered fries, but yet my ticket clearly says i did. I had to wait another 10 minutes for my fries, which i did not get to eat because my lunch break was over by the time i got them. My food was not fresh, they served my flounder on lettuce that was BROWN AND YELLOW!! My experience with them was horrible, and i am a first time customer. I will not be returning every again nor will i recommend any one to them. read more
