Went to The Ridley House today and was really disappointed with the service. Our server took a long time to come over initially, and after that we barely saw her. Our drinks were empty for most of the meal, and we had to ask another server just to find her. One of our drinks was made wrong, and when we finally got her attention, she seemed annoyed she needed to come to our table and actually walked away while we were still talking, which felt really dismissive. What makes it more frustrating is that there's an automatic 18% gratuity even for small tables. I ended up having to tipping $22 total, and for only seeing her a handful of times, it definitely didn't feel deserved. To top it off, when I mentioned to the head bartender (who was acting as the manager) that I wouldn't be coming back, he pulled $40 cash out of his own wallet and offered it to me to "give them another chance." It honestly made me feel so uncomfortable and was not an appropriate way to handle the situation. The food was fine, but the service and overall experience were not. For the prices and the built-in tip, I expected much better. I will not be returning. read more

I'm not liking the service here. There appears to be one person working the tables in the bar area. We were seated at 2:28pm. We placed a drink order approximately 6 minutes in. I ordered the soft serve margarita but they were out of cherry so I settled for one flavor only to hear the server offering cherry flavor to the next table when they arrived maybe 35 minutes after we arrived. We placed our food order at 2:40pm. I received my margarita at 3:09pm. We received our food at 3:16pm. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was really good. The thick steak like fries were fine. Would never return here again...we had our 50th class reunion with many people from out of town. Many cars got towed as the parking is not clearly delineated. There was no warning on the predatory towing practices that charged $315 in cash only. Many attendees had to find rides. Our reunion was held at the venue on September 25, 2026, and management had been advised of the anticipated number of guests. Heavy rainfall reduced visibility, and the primary parking lot quickly reached capacity. An adjacent lot behind the venue, situated in front of a nearby vacant bowling alley with approximately ten customer vehicles, may have been suitable for overflow parking. Because Ridley House had not established an overflow parking plan, more than eight guests' vehicles were towed. Casa Blanca, the towing company selected by Ridley House rather than the bowling alley, charged $315 in cash per vehicle and has been the subject of numerous complaints concerning its business practices. The food was adequate, and the bartender occasionally had to obtain requested beverages from another bar. In addition, poor lobby lighting, similarly colored tiles at the step, and worn caution tape made the change in elevation difficult to see, resulting in an injury to a classmate. Overall, the venue's service, planning, and safety measures did not meet reasonable expectations. read more

Five of us had lunch here yesterday, on a Saturday afternoon. None of us had been here before. They have a large parking lot which was great! We don't realize after walking in the side door that that entrance is really more for the private rooms. You can eventually make it to the bar and then the restaurant but it's easier to use the front door. The restaurant is currently fully decorated in a Harry Potter theme. You can still order from the regular menu although they did have a few themed dishes on a separate menu. I enjoyed an espresso martini and a Caesar salad, both of which were very good! Our waitress was sweet and offered to clear the table before taking a picture of us that we requested. If you or your children are really into whatever theme they have it decorated for (I think they do other ones) you'd really enjoy it! read more

My friend recommended this spot because I wanted cheesesteak egg rolls and she said there was a place close to her home that we could order from. We ordered take out - I ordered cheesesteak egg rolls and a side House salad; both were edible, nothing remarkable although I did like their Sriracha ketchup. The egg rolls didn't have much flavor to me and were a little chewy for my liking. The salad was fresh. The young ladies that I interacted with to place my order were helpful and pleasant and the food was made ready very quickly, which was nice. The price wasn't bad either. Again, my order was takeout but the vibe that I gathered while waiting for my food is that this seems like a warm, neighborhood spot. What an amazing Harry Potter experience for my son's birthday. The decor definitely put a smile on his face he was amazed as we walked in because it was a surprise. I will recount my experience with this establishment and the conversation with a manager the next day. I took my wife, in-laws and extended family here Easter Brunch, where we were situated in their spare room. It was us and another party of similar size (6), and after 15 minutes of waiting I let my wife (and the rest) to go retrieve food from buffet. When the waitress did arrive and take the drink order, we did not see her again for almost 20 minutes and at that she instructed us that two of the drinks (coffee) needed to be self-served through the primary room. We were not graced with her presence until we had concluded and upon getting the bill there was a mandatory 20% gratitude added to the bill ($62). When I spoke with a manager, the following day, she informed me that the gratitude was standard and that the service was what it was because of short-staffed. If you go, be prepared to be ignored and given the impression that you should be grateful for the service. read more

The restaurant was half empty with so many vacant tables, but they made us wait a half hour to get seated? It took quite a long time before we got a waitress and our food too. But at least the food was pretty good! Everything came out fresh and cooked perfectly. I think my favorite dish was the steak. It was a pretty tender steak that went well with the eggs. There were a bunch of TVs in the bar area playing some college football. You can see a TV from anywhere in the bar. So it does seem like a good place to hangout when trying to catch a game. I can't wholeheartedly recommend the place though. Maybe the service was just having an "off day", but based on that visit, you should plan to have lots of time to spare. The Ridley House does a great job with their social media, so after seeing their festive Halloween decorations, we decided to go for dinner on a Wednesday night. Both the dining room and bar were decorated although we chose to sit at a table in the bar area since there were Harry Potter candles hanging from the ceiling along with a lot of other spooky decor. Although we were seated and greeted right away, our server was somewhat surly and seemed unhappy to be there. Also, even though the bar wasn't busy, it took some time for our drinks to get made, one of which was a Green Goblin drink for Halloween. Overall, the food was good. Mini loaves of herby bread were hot out of the oven and came with an herb butter. I had the pecan crusted mahi mahi. The lobster cream sauce and pecan crust really added flavor to the fish which was delicious along with the smashed fingerling potatoes and grilled zucchini. My only concern was it seemed a little too rich and buttery. Since Wednesdays are burger night, my husband had the lamb burger with tzatziki which was something different. We had a 6:00 PM reservation for two. Arrived at 5:50, and we were told they're behind. After four more check-ins and some complaining, we finally got seated at 6:40. As another ten-minutes passed without anyone acknowledging our presence, we literally had to chase down a busboy and ask him to get the manager. Five-minutes later, said manager arrived and took our order. Finally, we're back on-track ---- not! Another 15-minutes passes before the manager returned with our beers. All tolled, we didn't have food on our table until 7:25 PM. Oh yeah, the food was pretty good, but then again, maybe we were just starving after nearly an hour and a half wait. I can't speak on how it would be at busy times. But the unique food options are pretty extraordinary. The Philly cheese steak breakfast was pretty appropriate to get visiting Philly, and the potatoes were perfect. The Oreo pancakes were ridiculous and sure to cause a blood sugar crash. The food here was very good. The salmon was cooked very well, the mac & cheese was hit because the smoked Gouda comes through well and isn't overpowering. The crab cakes were cooked but the texture and thickness wasn't the best. We prefer a slight crispiness from the broiler but they were a bit soft. The dinner rolls were lovely. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly host who asked us our seating preferences. On the right is the bar area with a lot of tv to watch sports, it's a little bit loud. On the left is the main dining area, which we decided to go. It's spacious enough for social distancing, against the wall are booth seatings. There is a big tv on the wall and several are hanging. So if you are into sports you won't miss much. There's a fireplace in the middle of the room which is nicely decorated to give a homey feel. Our waiter was excellent. Our orders came fast and correct. He was very attentive to check out how we were. Alligator chili was one of the specials. It was served in an angled white bowl to give a gourmet touch. The alligator was fried in batter in bite sizes. The breading was light and not greasy. The texture and taste is similar to a white fish but without any fishy smell or taste. It's topped with corn chips. Beautiful presentation to wake up your appetite. Pretzel is huge. Super soft and warm with mustard and cheese dipping on the side. There's no granules of salt on top so that it's not salty. It has enough amount of melted cheese instead for a nice presentation and addition flavor. Highly recommended. House salad is fresh, dressing has perfect acidity and flavor. My favorite part of the salad is the croutons. They are so fresh. Very crunchy and light but not hard at all that will hurt your gum.
