We have been meaning to try this place since we moved to the area and we drive by it all of the time we decided to go on a Thursday night, which conveniently ended up being a very fun trivia night for the tavern- we stayed after our meal was over to play with the rest of the restaurant and really really enjoyed it! As far as The Food, it was very tasty!! We ordered a Buffalo chicken cheesesteak for myself and a regular cheesesteak and loaded fries for my partner. The Food came delivered to the table, hot and delicious. They have an easy to read menu with a center bar, booth seating, and not a bad seat in the house. The only downside we had to the visit was that we felt a little out of place like maybe there were more locals there and we might actually have been sitting in someone's seat that comes in on a regular basis. lol- oh wheat staff was friendly and helpful and as we mentioned before the trivia night really capped off the evening. At first glance one would label John Morton's as a dive bar, however once given a shot one would find instead, a corner neighborhood bar. This bar makes me wish I were a local. So welcoming and friendly. The vibe here is high and positive. Loud music that isn't overwhelming and happy friendly faces all around. I was happily surprised with the roast beef sandwich, that although quite messy was tender and flavorful right down to the last drippy bite. The homesteader. A full long roll half pork/half beef, again dripping with juicy meat and tasty gravy. The waitstaff is personable, engaging and eager to please. We had a great experience! Food and service were top notch. Greg (the cook) came out of the kitchen himself to drop off our food. He also stopped back and asked how everything was. You don't find service like this much nowadays. I highly recommend and we will return. read more

If you see me there just know....It's a WHOLE shin dig. The staff is cool. The food is good.The prices are reasonable. I would bring cash and make it easier for yourself. They have an ATM in the walkway, but I just can't see myself using it. It's a nice small bar for functions, but it can get busy in there. The parking is limited but plenty on the street. All in all it's a nice bar. P.s They are a chain too! Marty McGee's, Tumble Inn, and John Morton's all affiliate. I get the sense the staff might rotate between the bars, so expect good service everywhere. read more

This review is for food only. The menu here is not very robust - it's basically cheesesteaks and roasted (beef, pork, turkey) sandwiches. My husband loved his roast beef sandwich with horseradish and broccoli rabe... it's the reason we ordered from here. I got some cheesesteak egg rolls and really enjoyed the dipping sauce they came with. The French fries were better than average and the tots were average. I have been driving by this place for 50 years. I am glad I finally stopped in. The bartender and cook loved talking about the new and improved John Morton's Tavern. The cheesesteak was tasty and had good ratios but small. The worst part; it was a Liscio roll but not up to the usual high quaity that I am use to. Overall good experience. read more

Ordered John Morton's Tavern through Door Dash, and unfortunately did not enjoy the food. I paid $24 not including tax for 6 of their "famous" egg rolls (3 cheese steak, 3 buffalo chicken) and merely got what seems to be a snack. I wish this were not the case but considering the food quality and portion, it is overpriced and lacked flavor. But hey! That could just be my opinion. read more

Meh. I loved Prospectors (what John Morton's was before they renamed it). I miss you dearly. You hosted my birthday party twice and many work parties. When I found out they were changing the name and refurbishing the place I was let down but a little curious. They really did nothing new. Added more lights and raised the prices on EVERYTHING! A Miller High Life should not be 3.50 in Prospect Park. It shouldn't be that much anywhere. A 6 inch cheesesteak and a bag of chips should not be 8 dollars either. I want to love this place again but you should offer daily food/drink specials to bring people in. You guys are walking distance to like 400 people, easy. The wings are still great, but they need to bring back the old sauces. read more

Stopped in after watching our granddaughters do cheerleading at Witmer field. Felt very welcomed by both the bartender and patrons. We had a quick beer and roast beef sandwich. Great sandwiches and very reasonably priced. Great local pub. We will be back. read more

Marginal at best. For such a limited menu you would have expected them to be really good at one of them. Cheesesteak not as good as many other places in the area. A group of us stopped by for lunch and found their menu more then ample full of sandwiches and picky food. The roast beef and loaded fries was great melt in your mouth beef was on point. The wings were crispy and the cheese steak egg rolls are made on premises evidently and they were great. We had a great time. Also try the Bloody Marys they are a meal on their own. read more
