After failed trip at Monaghan's Irish Pub saw this on my way from the parking lot. Bartender was pleasant and acknowledged me right away. Simple bar food good pricing drinks were strong. 952nd different cheesesteak eaten in the last 4 years. 5th stop on a day of cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan and his New Castle Cronies. We got a regular cheesesteak with fried onions & mushrooms and a cheesesteak wrap. This is going to be short and sweet. The cheesesteak was close to average. The wrap was not. Coaches is a nice, clean, big sports bar with plenty of TV's. Mary is awesome. Great place to hang out if your friends are into Lou Turks and you are not. read more

With it being pretty close to the Philadelphia airport my choice was to go here because they had my favorite drink twisted tea when I got here I was greeted by the bartender named Kim she was very welcoming and very helpful I asked her what she would recommend and said the wings were good I tried the dry rub wings and they were great no complaints with the food bar is clean atmosphere is welcoming and everyone is friendly highly recommend this place if your looking for a spot to wind down after a long day of traveling read more

Mary Mary Mary Mary Mary Mary Mary... oh and Lambie and.. Krissy? After a 4 1/2 drive from CT to our hotel in Essington, we needed food and drinks. First we tried Monaghan's which reeked of cigarettes and had blaring loud music. We walked in and we walked out. Opening our car doors, we saw the sign for Coaches across the street and decided to give it a try. Walking in the door, we paused for a second to decide where to sit and were instantly noticed by a group sitting at the corner, who jokingly invited us in and pointed out some seats at the bar. I felt right at home and knew I was with "my people", as I tend to welcome conversations with strangers and always make friends at new bars. Our bartender was Mary, who asked for our IDs (why, thank you!) and not only repeated but REMEMBERED our names throughout the evening. She introduced us to the other bartenders and was unbelievably friendly. We stayed for a couple of drinks and cut out after an hour or so, but it was definitely a warm and welcoming environment. Everyone seemed to know each other and all got along. The karaoke wasn't TOO loud but was very entertaining. Plus we got to watch the Yankees lose, which always makes me happy. My only wish was that they had a more extensive menu available -- but, in all fairness, it was like 11pm and they only had fried foods, which is what people usually want at 11pm at the bar! I would have been happy with chips and salsa or something. Either way, this was a great night and I would recommend anyone in the area stop by. read more

Nice clean establishment, lots of TV's with sports on all of them and sports related items mostly philly sports memorabilia on the walls. Doesn't get overly loud. I've come here for business lunches and just regular lunch visits over the years and I can say the staff is always friendly. Lots of locals or regulars which is good sign. Food wise the menu is predominately sandwiches, wraps and salads. On this past trip I had a Santa Fe which is grilled chicken that was marinated and grilled nicely, bacon, mayo, tomato and jalapeño with melted American cheese on a long Italian roll. It was a good sandwich my only gripe is they make sandwiches Delco style which is meat on top of the toppings which always makes the contents of a sandwich slide and tough to eat. All in all value wise and in general it's a well run place that is always busy. The menu will not blow you away, but everything is well made so you really can't go wrong here. read more

Ate at this Bar and Grille for three straight days. The food is good and reasonable. Recommend ordering anything on a bun. Non-Smoking establishment. The place is really clean, you'll see. Kim was the bar tender and did a great job. Paid $5.25 for a fresh frosted mug pint of craft Yards session Pale Ale. They have a happy hour so things get even cheaper during that timeframe. They get a nice lunch crowd. Locals are very friendly. Plenty of tables and a square talkable bar. Outside patio tables are also available. We had a good time there every day. read more

Came here for a quick bite during a seminar at a nearby hotel. Love how "pro Philadelphia" the place is! There's decor relating to the Eagles (go Birds!), 76ers, Temple Univ.. you get the idea! It's like a mini sports bar. The menu was basic but extensive. And the prices were really decent too. The waitress is really nice and served us right away. We ordered a personal pizza & a combo with half sandwich and soup. We left satisfied and I would definitely come back again if I was in the area. Perfect little place for any time of the day! My office swings by here at least once a month. Not the quickest service, but I have always liked the chicken buffalo sando with fries. The guys always down the soups, which I will be trying next time. Lots of tvs, lots of sports to watch. Friendly service. read more

My only experience with Coaches is Monday night thru Wednesday night. That being said, at least those three nights of the week, the place is totally great! Great service from everyone, great food, and good local peeps just enjoying a friendly place to be. No complaints what so ever. I originally rated them "4 stars" but realized I wasn't sure what they'd have to do to get five stars but I'm one of those people that has a problem giving all five. So in that respect I realized there's really nothing wrong with this place. So five stars it is. read more

Great affordable prices. No drink on the menu was more then $8 and most of the food was $10 or less. You can't beat that. The spot is decorated and the drink menu is Philadelphia sports theme. Service was pretty fast. I came here randomly but if I was in the area again. I would check them out. read more

Only stopped in for takeout as they were the closest place to still get beer after 11 PM on a Sunday by my hotel(about 10-15 minute walk). Crowd was friendly and the bartender, a female, was nice. A six pack & 2 quarts came to about $22 which is alright. I'm used to pay paying $4.50 or so for an actual 40 at bars here in South Philly. Would return when in the area. read more

Was talked into going by the hotel we were staying in, and wished I went to sleep hungry. Went with seven other guys and Nobody was happy with the sandwich they ordered and my pork sandwich had three shavings or dry old pork on it.
