    Sitting at the bar...
    Jimi J.

Last night in the area and I was pleasantly surprised, again! I had several locals tell me that I had to stop by and try the chili cheese dog. To be honest, I wasn't all that siked about strolling in for a hot dog, but they had a great beer selection so I figured it wouldn't be terrible even if it was a bomb...it was not a bomb, it was the bomb! The hot dog was firm and had great flavor on its own, but between it and the house chili and cheese sauce all encased in a wonderful bread that was just sturdy enough to hold it all together...good lord, what a chili dog. I have NEVER been impressed with a chili dog, but this place made it so. If you are in the area, please, stop by and give this local gem a try, hopefully they do you as right as they did me! I also tried the wings, and even though they were a little small, both flavors were great and cooked perfectly. The service was great, everyone had a blast and the regulars were a hoot to talk to. When I make it back, I will stop in again!

Came here for the wings and beer. The wings were fairly standard bar wings. They were small. They were good enough to enjoy but certainly nothing special. We ordered our with Cajun ranch sauce. The sauce was tasty in a very fast-food type of way. The flavors were not fresh or complex.

The photos on Yelp encouraged me to visit this neighboring restaurant.? I'm glad I did, the photo of the French onion soup in particular was the deciding factor to visit Old State Tavern. It MORE than lived up to its hype! The decor was dated but very neat, clean, organized and a quite nice size space. Although it is a traditional bar it has restaurant style seating, pub area seats, and a pool table for the family to enjoy. I would say; especially during the daytime it is acceptable to bring young children to enjoy the food and a game of pool as a family. The onion soup was absolutely delicious. A nice flavorful broth that wasn't overly salty, cooked with enough onions under a generous layer of very deliciously gooey cheese. I said enough because there are two crispy flavorful onion rings that topped the soup. You can blend it in with the cheese and a nice spoonful of broth. To steal a quote from a soup company it was 'um um good'! The Old State Burger was great! Fresh and possibly homemade patties that fills the bun, the melting Swiss cheese with A 1 sauce is a nice touch. The fries are decent but not my fav. On the other hand the homemade chips were a hit. If our server gave us her name I missed it but you can't miss her she's having a baby. (CONGRATULATIONS) she was very pleasant, prompt and she offered good suggestions and answered all of our questions. This was a great overall experience and I would suggest anyone give Old State Tavern a chance!

The cheesesteak was even better than Pat and Geno's. They filled it up completely with meat. The bread is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside just how I like it. They have many options for it. This will fill you up. I'm coming back for more.

I almost gave up on Media's Cheesesteak game, I am glad I did not!! Very good neighborhood bar. Bartenders were very friendly. Very good cheesesteak. Great roll. Good amount of meat. Very good amount of cheese and melt. A little light on mushrooms. I am sorry, it was 11 am super bowl Sunday so it may have been my mouth but I did like the consistency of the meat. I don't know if it needed to be chopped more or less. Over all very good experience.

If there can be such a thing this is an upscale dive bar with a classy sign!

Said they were handicap accessible. They are NOT! Drove one hour to get there. Ate at Wendy's instead and had better service.

We were semi-self service in the restaurant because it was only 1 person working in the front. I felt really bad for him. He took sometime to order and brought the food out. Nevertheless the food was good. The mussels were flavorful. The sauce was white-wine base. Very unique. It came with the garlic bread on the side. I highly recommend to try. The wings are tender and juicy inside, good texture, not dry. Many tables and seats inside. Bathroom is ok. Street parking. Overall a good place to watch sports and get rowdy with tasty food.

Tap 24 was the one that had dining area right in front of the entrance with huge large glass window, so we were able to enjoy the beautiful summer day while dining. The dining space was not as big as regular restaurants, few tables in front for larger groups and smaller ones were further inside across the bar. The bar huge though where most people hung out. They also had a game viewing area in the back. But though out the place there were several TVs that had the game on. The menu had plenty of popular American style dishes. I got to try the chicken wings and mussels for appetizers. Both were excellent. My friends loved their sandwiches and salmon dishes as well. All the dishes were served within a short wait time. The bartender was serving our table as well. He did really good job. We had a wonderful time hanging out with everyone while dining and watching the game.

The bank rolls, dry rub wings, and whiskey wings were absolutely amazing--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Service was friendly and fast, which made the experience even better. My husband ordered the beef taco special (2 for $5--such a steal!) and liked them, but couldn't stop reaching for my appetizers. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

Even made my own a few times, thinking I had it all figured out. But then I walked into The Bank Bar and had my mind completely rearranged. The place itself? Perfect. It's got that old-school, no-nonsense vibe with just enough charm to let you know they actually care. You walk in, and it's like the place has been waiting for you--dark wood, a little history on the walls, and that unmistakable smell of something incredible happening in the kitchen. The kind of place where you know, deep down in your soul, that good things are about to happen. And then came the sandwich. This roast pork wasn't just good. It wasn't just great. It was the best roast pork sandwich I have ever had in my life. No exaggeration. First bite--boom--instant revelation. The pork was juicy, packed with deep, rich flavor, and shredded just right, like it had been slow-cooked by someone who truly understands patience. The roll? Oh man, that perfect balance of crusty and soft, holding everything together without stealing the show. Then you get hit with the garlicky, herb-loaded bite of the greens--sautéed just enough to still have a little bite, but soft enough to melt into everything else. And the cheese? Sharp provolone, the kind that makes your taste buds wake up and pay attention. I sat there, sandwich in hand, just nodding to myself like some kind of roast pork prophet. Every bite was a reminder that this is how it's supposed to be done. It wasn't a meal. It was a life experience. If you haven't been to The Bank Bar yet, fix that immediately. Order the roast pork. Thank me later.
