Trying a new restaurant. Drove out to try the Cookie plug but needed a meal before dessert so I stopped by the Pub. Walked in an there was a LIVE band...love it. Brother and sister duo (forgot their name). Loved the tunes. I love Crab fries. If it's on the menu I'm getting it. They were good. Not a total of the cheese sauce used, but ketchup helped for me. Been wanting a corn beef special and I added that as well. This sandwich was delightful. It comes with fries which I didn't need as I had the crabby fries. I would for sure order it again. My server Gaije was great. He and another server were doing a friendly wager promoting their specials. The funnel cake bread pudding pique my interest. So good. 10/10 I didn't need the funnel cake straws the pudding was delish. Great night out read more

I enjoyed this place great service from the bartender who recommended some beers for my friend and I to try. Beers were great nice and fresh. Bartender was telling us all about the selection of beers. Didn't try any food but has a ton of tvs so a great place to watch a game. I had an extremely disappointing experience with this establishment. I presented a valid government-issued ID and was denied entry, which was frustrating enough. When I called afterward to ask why, the conversation became completely unprofessional. During the call, I was called a "motherfucker" by a staff member and treated with disrespect instead of having my concerns addressed. I understand that businesses have the right to verify IDs and make decisions about service, but there is never an excuse for speaking to customers that way. I expected professionalism and basic courtesy, and unfortunately I received neither. Based on my experience, I won't be returning. read more

State Street Pub is such a fun spot right in the heart of Media! The location is perfect--especially during Dining Under the Stars when the outdoor bar is open and there's live music. The whole place has great energy and it's always hoppin'. We stopped by and tried the wings and the Banh Mi Pork Belly sandwich--both were fire. Packed with flavor and cooked just right. The wings had a nice crisp and the sandwich was full of bold, tasty goodness. Despite being super busy, the service was quick and friendly, which we really appreciated. They also do trivia nights, which we're excited to check out next time. Definitely a go-to for good food, good vibes, and a great time in Media! read more

This is actually funny because we wernt even suppose to be at this place but I'm glad we stopped in . We had a 20 min wait across the street so we came here for a quick drink and I say I was impressed. Tons of cool lighting with sports on the tvs and the bartenders were so friendly and helpful. Super friendly staff with quick attentive service It's very very loud but cool bar/ pub vibe. Shuffle board set up in the back. Cool septa train set up and Philly decor theme. Nice unique beer choices. Good options for food that are a step up from average bar food. Smoked old fashioned- Cool serving it with the cover so the smoke comes out at the table. It's good and strong. Smoke is mild and not overwhelming so it tastes smoky but you can still taste the bourbon. The GOAT- Very good, classic Brussels sprouts. Goat cheese is good the creamy cheese pairs well with the earthiness of Brussels. The walnuts get lost too. The One and Only- pork is juicy with flavor. Overall ok. Garlic bread is good but soggy fast. Too much cheese, overpowers the flavor of anything else. A lot of bread. read more

I was there for a silent book club and wished that this place was closer to home because all of the things I noticed that they offer (like trivia night.) Solid spot for an affordable drinks and good bar food! I came here a few times over the past months. The service could definitely be improved, especially in the late night hours. There were times it was great, and other times where we waited a LONG time to get our orders taken. They did a Christmas overlay which was fun! They had tons of decorations and different wall paper all over the walls! They also had three holiday cocktails. I had the Ho Ho Ho, which was sweet but really good! The presentation was definitely full of holiday cheer. The food was just ok. My favorite thing was probably the buffalo cauliflower! There are definitely better eats on State Street in Media, but their kitchen is open later than most places, which is a plus! read more

Different cheesesteak #1103 in the last five years. Special Wednesday addition of drinks and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. They have a Filet Cheesesteak. I appreciate them trying something new/different but this was a miss. The meat was cubed and had a decent flavor. It comes with provolone cheese. Provolone isn't a melting cheese and I think this cheesesteak needs a cheese that will melt over the cubed meat. The provolone was mostly on the bottom. The roll was standard. I was very disappointed. I came here with some friends very hungry. After looking at the menu I just wasn't hungry anymore. It's limited and pricey. I almost just ordered a salad to call it a day but it would have been $16 dollars just to have a chicken ceasar salad. I can make a couple of them at home for that price. So, I decided if I was going to go broke I should do it with some actual filling food. So I ordered the bbq pulled pork sandwich. It sounded good. I got fries with it and water. I didnt finish it. It was tasteful, but I expect it to be easy to eat but the pork at times was hard to chew. The fries were the best part. When the entertainment came they were nice and cool, but it was so loud I could barely hear my friends. So that just wasn't for me personally. My friends got a cocktail, very pricey as well, and it was small but strong. I'll give them that I guess And the service? Our waitress was no where to be found for 90% of the time. We really want to like this place! They have a very good beer selection. Unfortunately the food is much more miss than hit. Many items come out missing things that their menu says are included. Often they are so salty they are inedible. "Most" of the bartenders have have a really bad service attitude. In all fairness, a few are professionals. The rest are unprofessional. They don't greet you, they don't put down a Bev-nap. They also carry a grudge if you dare complain about the lousy quality of the food and service. There is a very good reason why this place has a 2.9 Yelp score. We took a seven month break after multiple bad experiences. This evening we gave them another chance... that was a mistake. Attitude from our... well I can't even call her a bartender as that would be a tremendous insult to professional bartenders. A tiny, horribly over salted roast pork sandwich on a Kaiser roll (has anyone ever served a roast pork sandwich on a Kaiser roll in Philly?) it was four ounces at best. We asked for onion rings instead of fries. That was three bucks more, which is okay but they did not come with the remoulade sauce. Hot cherry peppers are said to be served on the side... Nope! When we asked for them, we received mostly pickled jalapeños and a few cherry pepper pieces. Granted forgetting a dipping sauce and hot peppers is not a big deal but it does speak to their lack of attention to detail. $18 bucks for a tiny, super salty pork sandwich where you could barely discern that it was pork just doesn't cut it. We may stop in for a beer... but it will be a while. read more

Not that great. Food was overpriced for the portion size. The pretzels were 8 dollars and they were listed as a shareable app but were small. Only two cheesesteak egg rolls cut in half came to the table and were 11 dollars...........good selection of beer and cider though and it's on state street. Very nice place. Sat at the bar with my friend and had some drinks and food, Brooke was our bartender. She was soooo nice and very helpful as to what was good as far as a nice drink to order. My friend had the Roast Beef & fries & I ordered the ch. burger with onions rings it was prefect! The onion rings are literally lite breaded and nice & crispy. Burger was juicy also. We sat at a low top near the live music. The singer was great but volume was a little too loud. could also be on my part for not looking prior to see if there was going to be live music. SO delicious. There are many great beers here... (You just have to decipher the awfully written beer menu to get to know what they have). The bar had TVs for lots of sports viewing, and there was a really kickin live band last night. I'd go back again just for the band!! CONS: The food was pretty crummy. I got a salad which was fairly small for the price, and the avocado was brown and mushy. Not so good. My partner-in-crime got the crab fries. The crabmeat itself was amazing, but the fries were overdone and soggy. Food = meh, I'll pass. The place was a little awkward - with a restaurant in back separated by some weird partitioning walls from the bar. Maybe this was circa- the days when everyone still smoked in bars in PA. A happening place on any night of the week. This place knows how to stay relevant. Great brews, great beer menu (funny too) and friendly staff. They know all the locals. My husband and I came to Quotations for dinner because the wait at Iron Hill was over an hour. He's been here for lunch before and said they have comparable food. A comparable menu seems to be where the similarities end. The ambiance of this place left so much to be desired. I actually got depressed sitting in this restaurant. The ceiling tiles were stained and disgusting, the fake plants were dusty, and the quotes all over the place were just ridiculous. This joint absolutely, positively needs a face lift. Can someone call Bar Rescue or one of those other ridiculous Spike TV shows? It's bad enough to be seated next to geriatric people, or a couple that seems to be exercising severe self-restraint to avoid beating the shit out of their misbehaving kids, but when you're surrounded by outdated, dingy decor? Oy. The food was also pretty pathetic. My husband's burger was swallowed up by the gigantic bun, and my crab mac and cheese was flavorless. I also never got a drink refill and the waitress never came to check on us. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to get out of this place, and I won't be back. read more
