Amazing! We are staying at the delta and their restaurant was looking pretty crummy, a quite uber down to Kelly's Corner and we had a great dinner and a few beers. Clean neighborhood corner pub minutes from the airport. The staff is nice and the owner and cook (sometimes the owner is the only cook) are usually whipping up daily food specials from scratch. There are TV's above and around the bar and good music is usually playing over the speakers. I've been there on multiple occasions when their tap lines were being cleaned and have also noticed bartenders sanitizing and cleaning. They also decorate the inside for holidays to show some festive spirit. It's great to see an ownership and staff take pride in their appearance and brighten up the atmosphere! It had been years since I had a bite here, but for the last several month's I've explored the lunch menu and have enjoyed each experience. The menu has your typical bar staples (sandwiches, wings, burgers etc.) and some pub entrees (fish and chips, crab cake, steamed clams, shepherds pie to name a few). The food portions are big, prices are great and the ingredients are fresh. Some recent favorites have included the crab bisque soup (legit and made in house daily), firecracker shrimp (on their own as an app, on a salad or in tacos) and wings. Taco Tuesday will get you chicken or beef taco's for $2 each, fish tacos for $2.50 and their delicious firecracker shrimp tacos are 3 for $15. Wings Wednesdays are $6 for around 8 wings in house and $8 to go. The wing sauces I've tried so far have all been good. I probably just hit it on the wrong night. 5 or so of the 7+ taps were out so I was down to 3 options of draft beer....not a good start then was told they were out of wings! Stumbled upon this place looking for some good wings. Well this place did not disappoint!! The traditional buffalo wings were fantastic. I proceeded to ask for a recommendation from the grill. I was steered toward the pork sandwich, which was one of the best I've ever had. Just the right amount of heat. I had to try the soup as they are homemade and made everyday. The chicken vegetable soup was incredible and if it were socially acceptable, I would have licked the bowl!! Though I was already full, I had to try the Philly egg rolls. Again, they did not disappoint. Looking forward to my next trip to Philly just to stop back in and try more of the menu. One of the best, Philly cheesesteak sandwiches I have ever had! Starts out on a fresh roll, and then piled inside is perfectly cooked and thinly sliced steak (no grizzle), smothered with cheese and packed with peppers. I got everything the way it was supposed to come minus the onions. I'm not a big onion person. Every bite was fantastic. I could only eat half so the other half will be this evening's dinner. Rather than french fries, I went with their homemade chips... outstanding! Crispy, fresh, with just a dash of salt. The house salad was fantastic. Very large, loaded with fresh lettuce, peppers, carrots, tomato, and broccoli! Who puts broccoli in a salad? Well, they did and it was awesome. I sat outside on this beautiful fall day enjoying the welcoming of the staff of Kelly's Corner pub. It's clear these folks know how to be friendly and welcoming to their customers; I can only imagine what an awesome place this must be during what we now are calling normal times. To add to the realities of the times we're in as we are waiting to be served Philadelphia news was reporting about new shutdowns of restaurants, businesses, and the entire city because the covid numbers are up. Kudos to city leadership who are courageous as they take out the essential responsibility of government, which is to protect its citizens. With winter approaching, I could only think of the dramatic impact that increasing numbers of individuals with Corona virus will have on a great corner restaurant like this one. It is truly a shame that there are still people thinking they could socially interact with each other and discard masks that protect all of us. Shame on you and it's your fault that these businesses are suffering. Enough with the editorial commentary. Within this simple menu are multiple tempting classic pub options. I frankly was leading towards the cheesesteak egg rolls but for some reason they pulled pork on brioche with long hots and provolone was calling my name. My lunch partner spotted the crab bisque and made what our waiter called an excellent choice in choosing the old Bay fries as a side; I was assured I would be able to share in them. The outdoor seating area is equipped with heating units that were not needed today. It's a pleasant tented area just outside the main pub. There is a television set, which is how we were learning of the news of additional shutdowns to protect the citizens of the area. I spotted the waiter juggling the bisque and my platter and I just smiled because it looks so good. He was smart not to attempt to bring the fries at the same time and laughed about it. The brioche roll was shiny bright with pork leaking out the sides and just a sense of the melted cheese underneath. Even though the crab bisque looked amazingly delicious I wasn't able to get a photo because my dining partner immediately started to enjoy that delicious soup. My first bite into my pork sandwich was delightful as I tasted the long hots, the perfectly cooked pork, the cheese, and the bread; juicy joy in a sandwich. Now the old Bay fries had two aspects to him. The most important part was these were hot and perfectly fried french fries. The outside crisp surrounded a puffy interior softness that was like ahhhh. These fries were an example of how every pub, diner, and restaurant should make fries. But, and this was not enough to lower the rating ... The old Bay Seasoning was a light touch. It seems that whoever held the Old Bay seasoning was keeping some themselves or perhaps the bay had dried up and not offered up enough seasoning for Kelly's to coat the fries adequately. Still, these french fries didn't need ketchup nor vinegar nor any other coating although I will admit I spotted my dining partner dipping the fries into the bisque allowing the old bay seasoning to add to the sea side taste of the bisque. My fingers are crossed that these fine folks make it through the winter because I want to come back and have another delicious sandwich. read more

This place is a rare find. At first glance it's a dive bar, but there's so much more. The kitchen produces top-grade dishes. I ordered the crab cake entree and it was quite literally the best crab cake I'd had in my life! Full of crab, not filler ingredients, and cooked to perfection. Then there's the bar: you're stepping back in time here, to enjoy a more carefree time in our history. You could shoot a 1970's movie scene here without changing a thing. We were visiting here from TN and found this close (about 7 mins) to the airport. It was smaller than the pictures on Yelp make it seem but that didn't take away from the experience at all. We went about 430 on a Saturday evening. It wasn't busy at all. The bar was open and there are about 6 tables in the front but they also have a more secluded room in the back with a pool table for private gatherings. When we first walked i. The music was playing So the vibes were nice! We got a table and the man behind the bar came right over to greet us and get our drink orders. They had a full bar and carried a lot of different beers. We just ordered Corona (no pun intended lol). A young lady then came over and took our orders. We got the chicken Philly egg rolls w/tots and the fish and chips. The eggs rolls i believe are homemade (not frozen) because she asked if we wanted onions, mushrooms, and jalapeños in them-even gave us a option on which cheese we wanted in them. The fish was crispy and fried to perfection and the fries great too! Overall, this visit was great and they service was also great. The guy even gave us some good places to visit while in the city! Looked this place up on Yelp while I was in Philly for work a couple of weeks ago. The cheesesteak was the draw. It did not disappoint! I also enjoyed the honey hot wings there. They were very good and worth the heartburn lol. This place is close to the airport, so it was also an easy choice. Needless to say, I had my belly full and enjoyed a nice nap on the flight home. My wife and I had to stay at a hotel near Phila International Airport for an early flight to Florida for a birthday celebration/Vacation.
