The food was really great, the vibe was super chill and there really isn't a better place I can think of to watch the slippery stairs competition on ESPN (8 lol)! Driving down the road looking for a place to have lunch, my husband and I found a tucked away hideaway that made us feel like we were in vacation hotspot in the Pocono Mountains. This place is big enough to have a private party, watch a game by the bar or just have a groovy lunch or dinner with your family and friends. The service was great. We love this local pub and restaurant. Get the homemade chips! Friends and I enjoyed roasted pork sandwich au jus. There's live entertainment on weekend nights. We usually sit in a booth in the bar area but it can get noisy. All the servers we've had are attentive and fast. read more

HUGE thank you to your GM Anthony. My family chose to use Duffers for a funeral luncheon and Anthony was beyond courteous from the first phone call I made. He was extremely thoughtful in regards to our loss, and took a lot of weight off our shoulders by making this process seem less. On the day of the luncheon, I also want to make a point of how awesome our waitresses were (Jess & I forget the other girl!) As far as the Buffett, drinks, and desserts I didn't have to ask a single thing of these ladies they just did it! The food was piping hot and seasoned to perfection. I truly recommend Duffers if you are in need of a small party or even just a bar to sit at to watch the game. Food and service are always good here. The bar area is great for games and the dining room is perfect for a quieter dinner. In the summer the deck is a great place to chill. It is a little tough to find but once you do, you'll return to this treasure often. read more

The service was really slow and the waitress did not regularly check in. A forgotten drink, a half hour to first check in on us, and overall lack of service. It took 3 hours for dinner due to the slow process and long wait for food. The outside is nice, with a patio, umbrellas and a view of two tvs. I wish the whole process was more streamlined so dinner could be 1 to 1.5 hours. read more

No Happy Hour! Was told they haven't had one since 2020. Very disappointed as this would be the perfect spot to get together with friends.

My sister found this restaurant as a meeting place for us I'm in Delaware she is in Jersey, we went to a basketball game at St. Joes in Philly. When we got back to my car we decided to try out Duffers. Wow, we were so impressed. Had the quesadilla as an appetizer which was excellent. My sister & I had the smash burger & the pub sauce. it was so yummy & the sauce was incredible. I had onion rings she had fries which were soo good. My sons kids meal came with potato chips that were home made. My nephew had the avocado chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries that were delicious. All the food was amazing, the staff was very friendly & the service was great along with the atmosphere. I'm so glad my sister choose Duffers as a meeting place I would highly recommend it. read more

Duffers has a really fun atmosphere. I believe it has 2 bars and a more formal dining area. The staff was friendly. They had a lot of TVs in the bar area to watch games. Driving around in Northern DE, or as I call it, the valley of ash, which this area best reminds me of. But giving it such a "Gatsbyian" connotation may seem too poetic for such a blue collar area, but maybe that was the point Fitzgerald was trying to make? With the very industrial nature of Philly Pike in Claymont, with the steel mill and Sunoco refinery, it's hard to believe there are any good places to eat and drink in what appears to be a desolate land, especially at 11:30 at night. We were hungry, and apparently Bourbon Street lost its liquor license, which is the whole reason we were up that way in the first place. So, in need of a drink after a long night, we hit up the dive Mojo 13 only a quarter mile down the road. We asked the bartender for food that wasn't a 7-11 or Wawa, and he recommended this place called Duffer's. It's literally right over the DE/PA line in Marcus Hook, off to the side of a back road, nestled in the trees, slightly after an I-95 underpass. It was most unusual. There is a front and back bar. The front bar is very calm and low key, more for the locals looking to grab and drink and relax. The back bar is filled with loud music, cigarette smoke everywhere, and very rambunctious locals. We checked out both bars to take in the scene, got some typical bar food (wings and crab dip), and enjoyed the night. This was on a Tuesday night, but the bar was jumping like it was a Friday. Friendly staff, no problems. Not the most exciting establishment, but what do you expect? read more

We really enjoy going to Duffers. I almost always get the chicken fingers and crabby fries. Although the last time I got chicken fingers they weren't the same. Before they looked and tasted fresh last time they were really greasy and tasted different. I think they were frozen was disappointed. Hubby usually gets the fish and chips or the pulled pork sandwich he always says they are good. Usually they are not busy when we go there. One Saturday night late around 11 we went here and they had a band playing in the back room. It was a little loud for us so we asked if we could sit in the dining area and they said no problem. We were the only ones there and the band was just loud enough for us. It was like we were on a romantic date. Another went here with a co-worker on. A Friday night for happy hour and hubby was going to meet us. To my surprise while we were sitting there they had Jackie BamBam come in for an event. I'm trying to call hubby to tell him because hubby talks about his radio show all the time. But of course couldn't get cell phone service but luckily he made it in time for hubby to meet him and have his picture taken with him. I can honestly say have never had a bad experience here. Food has mostly been good, staff very friendly and have had some nice times here. Duffers is one of our favorite places to go to. read more

I want to say that if you decide to go out for a meal here, it's actually pretty decent. But avoid this dump by all costs on a Friday or Saturday night. I've been here 3x to go out and literally, all 3x there were massive fights. I told my buddies about it and they all said it's an every night thing there. Don't look at someone the wrong way or step on someone's shoes by accident because the dudes who go there are just looking to scrap. It's embarrassing. My last and final time there, I went out for 2 beers. I Walked in and met up with a few buddies and when I went to leave, about 10 guys in the parking lot are brawling. They were on top of people's cars and throwing bottles at each other. Everyone I talk to says avoid the place and says that parking lot is fight club. Hire security for the parking lot with a few more bouncers. I won't ever return to this dump for a night out. read more

Used to go to the location that closed down, first time at this one for quizzing. First thought was it was very nice and kind of hidden so first glance was a cool spot. Go in, apparently due to COVID and table spacing, all available booths were taken but one was expected to open in 20 minutes so they sat us in one spot for drinks and then said they'd move us over when one opened up. One opened about 20 minutes later and we still didn't even get drinks yet so someone cleared the table off and we assumed we would be moved but they immediately put someone there. Waitress finally came over and said yeah we were going to move you over but someone's already sitting there and laughed. Due to the other tables appearing they just got there and we were approaching a 1/2 hr without drinks we figured we'd stay out. Within 10 minutes of placing our order the booths that were left open for "safety" reasons were filled up and packed in so clearly there was either never a reason to space out or when it came to money, it didn't matter. Food wise, Ordered the bee sting wings, not sure if they came normal or just not flavored because there was nothing on there, pretty disappointing. Also the corn chowder was more potato chowder with a couple pieces of corn. Service beyond the table nonsense was HORRIBLE!! it looked like there were 2 servers in the bar area and one of the bartenders running drinks as well. Due to playing quizzo, we did get distracted at times that we were still waiting but we literally stacked drinks at the end of the table, tables were never touched. At one point, it felt like it's been forever since we ordered so I timed it- literally 32:24 until she came back. Another time we ordered drinks and after we turned our sheet in, we again timed it and the time was 22:23. How the heck does a bar go over an hour (we didn't start the clock on time) checking a table twice and having tables in the bar area waiting for a can of beer and mixed drink?? Terrible service, I would maybe check out the patio if I ever made the mistake of going back because it did seem like a nice area but I would def order a bucket each time they came. read more

My first visits to Duffer's Mill was when it was called the Peppermill Tavern. I knew a few of the barmaids from my claymonster high school glory days. It was always a good place to swill a few brews with friends after work, or watching the Eagles or Flyers on the week-end,or just returning from a concert night in Philly. Duffer's Mill ,fully refurbished and with an excellent menu today and delightful,friendly staff shines like a pirate's lost gem in the Indian waters of Naaman's Creek(named for Chief Naaman of the Lenni-Lenape tribe who hunted and lived in these Claymont woods in Colonial times. I would highly recommend Duffer's Mill to the hungry ,late-comer on the town or the ornery neighbor in need of a get-outa'-da-house evening break from the daily grind. First dates and lovers can also enjoy a romantic ambiance here too. read more

Don't make this your life changing destination and it can be a really good time. I think the two distinct bars are a really big plus. If you prefer laid back conversation and just hanging out stay up front. If you want a more suburbia club atmosphere, are a smoker or want to dance then hit the back bar. Good mix of the old crowd and the new crowd, cheap beer, and good food. This is the newest of the Duffers chain, located in Boothwyn. If you go in, there is a restaurant area for eating and whatnot off to the left of the front bar. The front bar is big, and has both booths and barstools to sit in. Live entertainment can be found on the weekends. The bartenders are nice and friendly, as well as usually pretty quick with the drinks. Generally, I'd say the bar up front is the classier area... smoke free and usually an older crowd. There is also a game where you can pay 2 bucks and attempt to catch a live lobster. If you catch one, they'll cook it for you, free of charge. The bar in the back, in the "game room" if you would, is a bigger more open area, with pool tables, darts, golden tee, etc. The crowd back there is always a younger crowd, usually around the college age, and up a bit. It can get quite smoky in there later on, as smoking is allowed and is practiced quite often. It's a good place to hang out and is usually quite busy straight through closing time on the weekends. As far as the food goes, it's a relatively small menu, which is disappointing. I have tried several items on the menu, and heartily recommend the salmon with garlic sauce if you're looking for dinner. The cut of salmon is small, however, for the $14 the plate costs. The blacked chicken and perogies was quite delicious, and much more of a meal than the salmon. By far my favorite "munchies" food there is the ham and cheddar melt. It's loaded with ham and cheese, loaded onto a delicious pretzel roll, with a side of fries. Goes well with a couple of Yuenglings. Beer choices are mixed, some macrobrews and some microbrews. Decent selection compared to other bars in the area, however nothing great. I usually end up drinking Yuengling as it's $2.50 per draft, and I'm a fairly broke guy. All in all, not a bad bar in suburbia. read more

I've been to Duffers on a few occasions. Summer nights is when I usually go. Good atmosphere, good drinks and happy hour specials. The food is not so good. The menu is small, however it's reasonably priced. They do offer all you can eat crabs sometime during the week (I can't remember the exact day). There are two bars, one on the restaurant side and another in the back with games and music. The bartenders are always friendly on either side. Overall this is a nice place to go if you're looking for some local fun, especially during the summer!! read more

The food here is nothing short of a disappointment if you plan to have a serious dinner. There are a few unique options but the majority of the dishes lack quality and presentation. The hummus platter was a joke. In short, it's an Iron Hill for the less fortunate, their menu strives for that appeal but falls on it's face. If you must eat here, just go with the wings and sweet potato chips (and crab legs, when available). read more

I stopped in because I heard from another place that they did takeout beer and I had never done that before. I am such a tourist. The bartender was nice and I made friends with the manager on duty because he was helping me with my beer selection. It wasn't very busy at the time but the people that were there were really enjoying themselves, so I wished I could've stayed and had a drink there but unfortunately I couldn't. Slightly far from where we live but from time-to-time we venture up here bc we like the buffalo chicken dip...we were disappointed the dip portion is much smaller than before. The cheesesteak eggrolls are pretty good and my husband said got the sliders which he said he would have again. I had the cob salad for my meal and was extremely surprised when it came out and had lunch meat in it. The beer selection is good and we still like the dip despite smaller portion so at some point we will be back but maybe not as frequent. read more

Then when we asked for the checks (despite there being 4 of us who were clearly just all friends) printed out one receipt. When we told him we were separate he complained some more. Don't bother coming here as it's clearly just an inconvenience to them to serve customers. They're also needlessly expensive. A simple draft (not craft) beer was over $5. A quick review I just had a firehouse burger with steak fries. It was a take out water with a couple buddies from work so I can't say how the service was but nobody was complaining that there order was wrong and my burger was especially good. We went to have lunch after my daughter's kindergarten graduation and it is not as kid friendly as I remember it being during the day time . The waitress said they didn't have anymore kids menus ( and there were barely any people there ) . We ordered for her off the regular menu and spent more then what was in our budget . Ordered an appetizer of tater tots with cheese for dipping and no plates were brought over. We used napkins to put them on . The food is decent but could definitely be better with a little effort. I've came here for rears and this is the first time I was not completely happy . Don't order the pulled pork sandwich, because it is very dry and if you do ask for extra sauce. The fresh cut chips must have been from the day before as they were chewy and not crispy. For the cost of the food it definitely should have been better with better service. I will try again because I've been coming here so long but I hope it is better next time. read more
