    Bourbon drink (I think?)
    Theresa S.

This review is for Sleigh bar upstairs. Finally got a seat at the bar, which is typically VERY hard to come by during the holidays. I ordered the sleigh ride drink and it was great. The bartender was nice and experienced, which I appreciate with fancy drinks. I am giving 4 stars, bc I think the food menu could use a few more high protein options and also b/c I was really hoping to hear Xmas music but it was back to back to back Katy Perry, which I am certainly not a fan of. Also, when I came into slow hand, it was fully empty with about 15 workers and not one person even greated me, even though they saw me - they continued their conversations with each other and ignored me. Overall though, great holiday spot, love the decorations and I would return.

I was so excited to go to the Sleigh Bar which is above Slow Hand. I had seen photos on Instagram of Sleigh Bar decorated for Christmas, and it looked festive. We got there around 6:30 on a Saturday night in early November and were told it was a 30 to 45-minute wait, so we walked around West Chester and waited for a text. No problem. When we finally received the text, I was thrilled and showed it to the hostess who said we could go up. At the top of the decorated stairs, there was a cool neon sign. We were finally in! When we reached the top of the stairs, all I saw were two tiny rooms packed with 20 somethings. There were no places to sit (one large table had a shopping bag on it with one person sitting at the table), and it was three deep at the bar with only 3 overworked bartenders. The decor was nothing special. Quite sadly, we left and went somewhere else for a cocktail.

I've been here a few times and it has always been great! The food is delicious and they have some unique plates. Right now they have a Christmas pop up upstairs complete with holiday cocktail and it is so festive and fun! I felt bad because it was so crowded and there was limited staff but the vibe was so good I didn't mind the extra wait!

Menu which was sold out of everything we wanted!

We made a reservation for downstairs and ask them what holiday cocktails they have to which they responded with none they're only available upstairs. Then we tried to order some kind of cocktail and it was sold out then we go to put an appetizers many of which were also sold out then the waitress comes back out a few minutes after happy hour ended and said do we want anything else but they're gonna be full price. We decide to put in a few entrées to share, which again many of which were sold out we left feeling very hungry still and then finally went upstairs to get a holiday cocktail and some of those were even sold out. I will not be returning .

Slow Hand participated in the recent WC restaurant week and was recommended by a friend who really enjoys their bar. My friend who made our reservations chose here because a few other spots that she had listed higher were booked completely. We had no wait for a table which was one of the four seater high tops in the middle. I sat on the aisle side but my friends who sat in the middle said later they felt like the table on the other side of the thin divider were eating with us because other than a pole that does between the tables parallel to the table top, there is nothing so it's really like a continuation of the table on the other side of the divider. They mentioned that they heard everything the other table was saying and at times felt bad because it was clear our conversation was clearly overtaking their experience because of the layout. The restaurant week menu was $50 and you got a small plate, large plate and dessert. The menu had a lot of the options available on the main menu. I was the only one at my table who went for the restaurant week menu, the rest did a la cart. I didn't do any alcohol but my friends seemed very pleased with their margaritas and aperol spritz. For food - My small plate was deviled eggs. I LOVE deviled eggs; I'm used to the basic that people have a parties, and now I feel like restaurants really have expanded on them. The eggs were beautiful with small blackened shrimp on top. They tasted delicious but they were ICE COLD. Not just chilled, but cold enough to send chills in my teeth. For my large plate I ordered the salmon. I was surprised when the server asked how I would like my fish cooked in terms of medium, well done, etc. I have only been asked that once in my life before and I am thrown off because I don't think of fish in that way. I went with the chef's recommendation ( can't remember now). Fish was fine, it wasn't to die for but it wasn't bad either. The potatoes pave that comes as a side was this block of scalloped potatoes that I enjoyed and thought were really unique. Dessert - I went with the pecan cake. Once again, it was very cold. I wasn't expected it to be so cold; it was hard to use my fork to break off a piece. It wasn't my favorite dessert. Service - while I enjoyed having plenty of time to talk to my friends, the service was very slow.

Stopped here for a cocktail on a Wednesday night during happy hour. Was surprisingly quiet and the bartender was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, made an excellent cosmo. Didn't try food but would come back for the cocktails and ambiance alone.

The restaurant is in a small shopping center with parking. Another benefit since many restaurants near downtown West Chester do not offer parking. The order consisted of Jamaican Beef Patty, Soup Joumou (Squash Soup), Griyot (Fried Pork), Diri Djon Djon (Mushroom Rice), Sweet Plantains, and Fried Red Snapper. Every dish tasted authentic and was delicious. How exciting to know that I no longer have to wait until I visit my parents or go to family events to get Haitian food.

Rice and peas (technically they are beans) you get is plentiful. Many dishes also come with cabbage and black beans (almost soupy) on the side, if you like, at no extra charge. Beef patties are delish, or so I am told :( Before I could try them, fellow diner had already consumed both! Maybe next time. Unfortunately too, no coco bread :( For vegetarians, there are options. Their vegetable stew was quite good. Also got a free sample with order. I picked the brown stew chicken, another tasty. Service very friendly. And takeout nicely packaged.

The ones we had in Hawaii had a spicy kick at the end. These were comparably good. One flavor all around. No spicy after kick. The Kalua Pork and Cabbage was spicier than what we had at Hawaii. It actually tasted better. They added ginger and it was spicy. I liked the Taiwanese cabbage better than what we had in Hawaii, which was regular cabbage. The ribeye steak ramen was good as well. It makes me want to try the rib eye entree. I like the black pepper flavor. I took the steak out as soon as it served, so it would not cook anymore in the broth. I was impressed that they made it medium rare. The chicken broth was not too salty, which it can be in other places, so I was pleased that it wasn't. The menma bamboo was crunchy. Many places have it too soft. The black seaweed/wood ear like topping was also crunchy. The wavy ramen noodles were perfectly QQ or all dente. There were two doors to open at the entrance. Handicap accessible. No steps. Two gender neutral restrooms. Spacious. Handicap accessible. We found street parking right out front. We came at 7 PM on a Monday after the dinner rush. Our server was very attentive. He also answered all my questions. I asked it they were Pulehu Ribs. When he did not know, he went to ask his colleague. I would come back for the same dishes, get a bigger order of the short ribs, and try the garlic shrimp. Definitely a new staple for us. Before going to Hawaii, we never had Hawaiian food before. This was a good way to revisit our vacation!

Excitedly anticipated reservations at West Chester Seafood Kitchen and our stay out stood the expectations. Oh what fun it is to brunch!!! We arrived with 10:30am reservations, arrived and were promptly seated in the middle of the dining room. This place has so much space! The tables are proportioned about well and love the long bench seating opposed from the kitchen window. Decor is tidy and of modern aesthetic ocean vibes. Everything complemented, including the floor pattern - which I obsessed over, lol. Absolutely adored the built in and all the nautical knick knacks. Our waitress was a doll. Charming, attentive and spoke with great eye contact. We decided on eats and a mid morning cocktail. I had the standard espresso martini and my husband tried one of peanut butter variety. Both deep in espresso flavor and not too sweet. Oysters to start. A half dozen of 3 varieties. So wonderful to be able to select a few kinds to sample. We enjoyed them all. Very clean and super fresh. My husband loves horseradish, so it was so nice they offered their standard cocktail sauce with extra. The mini Tabasco sauce we had to take home as memento. Brunch entrees- my husband went part poultry and I kept true to seafood. He had first the Clam Chowder. Lumps of clam and a mid-cream broth. Nice balance of stock and cream. Potatoes did not overtake. This was light but hearty. He dove into those Chicken and Waffles with delight. A savory waffle - how can you not love. And the honey jalapeño butter, I found as much as I could to dip into. Chicken was most and crisp. Hitting all the texture and flavors- sweet, spicy, crunchy with this dish. Delicious. Now my Lobster Roll- LOBSTER!!!! This was incredible. I ate the whole damn thing. The roll was toasty and buttery. The lobster was juicy and plentiful, it was allowed to stand on its own. Didn't push up on too much mayo, or celery, or tarragon. Let the seafood shine - and it did!! The fries were hand cut, and freshly fried. Only critique was the slaw. It was just there. Would recommend to nix it. It didn't add to the dish. This Lobster Roll I will keep in my thoughts of how I am now tainted against all others. Wonderfully done. We cannot wait to venture down again and experience more of their menu. Ahoy!! Come here to eat! King of the Sea in the Dub C!
