don't know what happened to this place, but Saturday night was an absolute disaster. $33 for a cheesesteak and an Italian hoagie is already pushing it... But I figured it might be worth it. Not even close. Both sandwiches were straight-up terrible. Soggy, sloppy, and barely any meat or toppings. The hoagie was loaded with so much oregano that it completely ruined it. For that price, these things should be packed and done right--like a real Leo's Steak Shop hoagie--not whatever this was. It was so bad that my partner and I threw out about 3/4 of both sandwiches. That alone should tell you everything. Then, to top it off, I ended up sick later that night and into the next day, running back and forth to the bathroom. So yeah... $33 to barely eat your food and then feel sick? That's wild. I honestly feel robbed. I had high hopes because I remember this place being good back in the day--but that's clearly not the case anymore. Eye'd this place up on a recent trip down Chester Pike and decided to stop in for lunch. The people running the place were super nice and were very friendly to this first timer. The guy who took my order wasn't afraid to give me his recommendations so I went with a cheesesteak. I asked for hot peppers and he asked me if I wanted them to be cooked in or put on after. I really appreciate simple questions like that, their kindness got them a fourth star. The sandwich was made very quickly, and was tasty. A couple cons: the hot pepper stems mixed in and quite a bit of grease. The peppery kick was a perfect mix with the steak and cheese. The roll was an Amoroso and it was fresh and good. Meat wise it was chopped up and although it wasn't overflowing with meat, I felt the portion was just fine. I'm pretty sure it was $7.95 which wasn't a bad price. I will return if I'm in the area to try other offerings. read more

So i was looking for a good meatless dinner. I hadn't had pizza in a while, so let's eat some pizza. Yelp pointed me to Falone"s. It had 4 stars and it was a short drive from the inn. It's an old establishment in need of some upkeep. If you're dining in, you will be seated in the liquor department. They have a wall of refrigerators full of beer and other hard beverages. Looking for that 40oz of Schlitz? Old English? Colt 45? Busch Ice? They got it. It appears that their business is 50/50 pizza/liquor. Shoot, if I wasnt driving, I would drink some. But don't judge a book by its cover, judge by its contents. We opted for a 16" cheese and mushroom pizza. The crust was great. Thin crust but not too thin. The cheese was delicious. I love cheese and this cheese was tasty. The mushrooms on the other hand.... are canned. Canned mushrooms aren't meant for pizza. They have no flavor. I'd be willing to try the pizza again without mushrooms. Just a plain cheese pizza. However, I like the works on mine. But, the ingredients need to be fresh. Nothing canned. If you're in the area, give them a try. I just earn you about the mushrooms. read more

If you live in the Glenolden area along Chester Pike, I would definitely suggest Falone's, especially for late night, since they are open until 2 AM 7 days a week. Not only are they a pretty decent pizza joint, but they also sell beer (sounds like one-stop late night shopping to me). Most places around town close rather early, including All Town Pizza up the street, so Falone's capitalizes on the late night business of beer and food. The last time I was in this place it was around midnight and they were still going strong. The pizza is more New York style, therefore big, greasy slices. The beer selection is modest, with more cheap beers than anything else, but everybody knows the cheap stuff is the best anyway, including the almighty Pabst, which hits the spot at midnight on a Friday. I may have found my new favorite Delco pizza. Falones makes a delicious pie. Thick cheese and a rich, flavorful sauce. It really has a homemade pizza taste. I cannot vouch for their sandwiches, but if you are looking to try a new pie because you are sick and tired of Cocco's or Double Decker or Pat's, give these guys a try. Also, they have the cheapest prices I've come across (I'm sure they make up for it with their beer selection). A large (16-inch) plain Pizza cost about $9. Great value, excellent quality. I was really hesitant to try this place after seeing one bad review out of the rest of the good ones but after trying it I was really impressed. The Philly cheesesteak was delicious. I travel to diff states so I like trying new things and I'm glad I stopped by. I'm picky about food and love a LOT of flavor. Not only did the sandwich have a lot of flavor but the fries caught me off guard because they weren't plain like most places. It had a lot of flavor as well. Definitely coming back here. Don't always judge a place by one negative review when most are good. I'm glad I gave it a chance because it was well worth it! Even the employees were extremely friendly and welcoming. Such a wonderful place! One of the best hoagie shops in the area. Everything from the roll, to the fresh ingredients, the flavorful meats and the wonderful spices...wow! The price is unbeatable as well, under 10 bucks for a hoagie (12 inch) , a soda and snack. You can tell this is a mom and pop shop that has making sandwiches the same way for a long time, why change what isn't broke? They sure got that right! VERY cool local place. Landed at PHL and went directly for a Philly Cheese Steak. First and foremost, the staff was really friendly and helpful. They took their time, asking if I wanted this or that - e.g. hot peppers cooked in or just on top, etc. The sandwich was cooked to order but ready in no time. A hoagie roll can make or break a sandwich; this roll was a little crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. The steak was juicy, with a good amount of onions and peppers (sometimes the onions and peppers get lost in the shuffle, but not at Falone's). Took my sammy back to my hotel and it held up well in transit - didn't get soggy at all. I had planned on eating half and saving half for later - yea ... that didn't happen. I absolutely love their plain cheese pizza. It's the best I've had since moving to the area a couple of years ago. Even better their prices are usually very fair with constant specials and they're open late. Oddly, the two times I have ordered a pizza that had a topping ( once pepperoni, once ham) the cheese ended up trying to slide off the crust, maybe due to the watery sauce..it just wasn't very good. It might've been a fluke as I've never run into that otherwise but just in case I stick with plain cheese. It's so good it doesn't need added toppings anyway. They do sell the usual Italian variety: Hoagies, calzones, etc. but I cannot comment on the quality as I've never tried anything but the pizza. read more

Great go-to place for a 6 pack of beer and some good food. Pizza and cheesesteaks are delicious. Staff is friendly and great. However, I've talked to some local cops who say that they are away that some drug deals go on outside the business which explains some of the weird clientele standing outside or waiting inside. I will never ever in life order from here again. I ordered from Uber eats and the wait time was not long so I was confused as to why my food was luke warm. I ordered a cheese pizza with extra cheese and an order of onion rings and for some reason they got that confused with a pizza with hardly any cheese and burnt onion rings that taste like they were cooked in 5 week old grease. I never knew that food could taste dirty, like the cook never washed his hands after he smoked a menthol cigarette standing over the grill. I have been going to Falone's since I moved to Pennsylvania about ten years ago, I love this place. It's always open until 2am and it's very convenient to get to. The current owner is very nice, I love it when he is there because he is very friendly and recommends some excellent beer. Speaking of their beer, I am so glad their selection is expanding! I'm a craft beer snob and when I came to Falone's in the past my go to "that'll do" beer was yeungling lager. Not anymore, they always have something new and tasty to try. The best thing so far has been the gingerbread beer. The only critique I have is I'm not an IPA person, and there is quiet an IPA selection in their craft beer section which I wish they would trim down to add blondes, Belgians, stouts or other types of craft beer but hey, good for you if you like IPAs I guess lol. The food is on point every time I order, my favorite is their cheese steaks, mozzarella sticks and club sandwiches. Their cheese steaks are so good that I always send my friends from new York to Falone's when they come visit. I think I order from them so much I'm actually craving more food items on the menu but hey that's just me. The only thing I don't like is the silly .75 charge for using a credit/debit card to pay. Nowhere else have I ever paid this charge and it sounds pretty silly to me but hey, I keep going back despite this because the service, beer and food is always excellent. read more

One of the greatest things about Falones for me in particular is that I live down the street and that it is open late. I have been a regular customer in there since it opened and I haven't really had any major issues with their service. I'd say just about everything on there menu is a solid choice except for the pizza. I admit I am a pizza snob and I can be pretty particular when it comes to it. They do have excellent appetizers. I've tried everything and the broccoli bites are always my go to when placing a big order. They have excellent cheese steaks and chicken cheese steaks. After a long night of drinking heavily I know I can always count on Joe to come through for me with the most solid breakfast sandwich. Sundays are now known to me as breakfast sandwich Sunday's. And if you like breakfast any time I'm pretty sure they do it from open-close They are always friendly to their customers. Most pizza place owners tend to seem stressed out on a busy night but Joe is always smiling and joking around. The way I look at it is if your busy and have a good attitude your doing excellent business. He is definitely organized, keeps a tidy place and his staff are all pretty nice. They have a decent beer selection. They stock a lot of the cheap stuff which I don't mind, but I think it would be awesome if they stocked up on some rogue or other kinds of craft beers once in a while. 95% of the Time the food is excellent....a few times the food wasn't up to par..old cold hard fries and chicken not fully cooked on the Caesar salad...but for the most part they are on the money. Ordered uber eats from here the other night bc of the great reviews on yelp. The wings where okay but the sauce dripped through the container & all over my floor & dining room table. The small pizza wasn't good. I asked for light sauce (covered in sauce) and the cheese was falling off the pizza. The cheesesteak I had high hopes for .. it looked PERFECT but I was sadly mistaken, it was soooooo bland. No flavor at all even with the fried onions. I would watch out what you eat here because last time me and my husband ate here we both got food poisoning. It was horrible. Also most of their workers are rude. Especially two of the phone girls.
