Passing through Philadelphia international airport and figured why not. So over to Geno's to order cheesesteak whiz wit and a side a fries. I'm at an airport location so I certainly not expecting the iconic taste but for a quick bite between flights it was nice. Service was fast. And plenty of seats to people watch. Overall not bad at all.

Very good for a airport restaurant. We had two sandwiches and one order of fries. Plenty to feed a family of 4.

Over Steak and cheese was good and close to what you would get at the location outside the airport. Customer service is okay and well it's an airport so the environment is what it is. I hadn't had Geno's in a while and definitely happy to have take advantage of one at the airport. Nonetheless, a reminder I need to go back to Philly and hit up Geno's.

I read the reviews only after my visit since I came upon this venue on my walk between the airport terminals to the gate of my next flight. This spot is in a food court right before you enter gates A and B at PHL airport. Menu is simple with your choice of a plain steak, cheesesteak, or roast pork sandwich. You can also get a side of regular or cheese fries. They also have a few beer options in addition to some fountain soda drinks. It seems wait time and service have improved. The line moved quickly and I got my Philly cheesesteak (with diced/cooked onions and cheese choice of cheese whiz) within 5 minutes of ordering. It was about $16. Unfortunately they charge extra for other toppings so I can see how this could have easily been a $20+ for a footlong Philly cheesesteak sammi. I haven't had the original to compare it to but this was tasty and had a nice mix of savory (cheese whiz and thin sliced steak) and sweetness (cooked onions) with a nice soft chew for their sandwich bun. Big enough to feed 2 people. They placed a sheet of wax paper on the opening to help keep in the melted cheese whiz and preventing it from making the paper wrap soggy. If you're in a hurry, you can also order online in advance for pickup at the counter by going to the orderatPHL.com website for this venue and other spots inside PHL airport.

It's okay. Not enough meat and the meat is bland. I added a lot of salt to bring out the flavors. Not sure if this place is over hyped or I picked the wrong cheesesteak from here. Which cheese do I select: cheddar, provolone, cheese whizz or something else ?

Anyone that gives this a high rating has to either be a tourist or never ate a good cheesesteak before. There is nothing that I like about this cheesesteak, especially after I explored and ate 4 other cheesesteaks that weekend. The meat was dry/rough, the bread tasted fresh out of a bag and there was no flavor other than the cheese. The customer service was great though!

Stopped at the airport Genos on July 26, 2025. Had a freshly made egg pork roll and cheese roll. Quick and friendly service. And the sandwich was really good!

Took order quickly...got it correct. Food was hot, roll was fresh and serving size was generous. Served at the food court at Philly airport .. sceens to keep track of flights and clean tables and chairs made it a favorable place to sit.

Pros: Good location in terminal Line moves pretty quickly Prices are reasonable considering it is airport food Cons: Phili cheese streak was nothing special. They forgot to give me mushrooms so had to go back and get them Fries were super greasy Pro tip: There's a chick fil a in the same food court

"it is what it is"... I think that it was a ok cheesesteak for a dude passing through wanting to eat something while in the middle of a super long layover to another city. Gave me a chance to taste a real Philadelphia cheesesteak, and it's been a while. Was it the best one I've ever had? No,.... but it was ok for airport food so I can't complain. I was the only customer, so it didn't take long at all.

Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no reservations Return worthiness: yes! Eve awards best cheesesteak of my life--still thinking about it Highlights: - The bread: a soft long roll with sesame seeds was a delight I didn't see coming. - Meat: was lightly seasoned but kept its pure flavor. Most cheesesteaks have such bland meat so this did it right - Cheese: melty coopers cheese was perfectly mixed in. - Onions: just the right soloing if grilled onions mixed in to complement the meat but not overwhelm it. - Size: monstrous! You can easily share (but you may not want to). - Fairly efficient: even with long lines, put your phone number in the kiosk, can pay with credit card, and wait til you are texted to pick it up. - For the whole family: my cranky teen son said it's the best thing he ate on our 23 day summer East Coast trip (including lots of great dining spots around Philly and NYC). Lowlights: - Waits can be long and brutal in heat. We got lucky with a shorter line. - No seating: just an ordering counter inside so many are eating out on the sidewalk.

Will keep this as short as possible…read more -The line will look worse than it actually is. It moves quickly. 70-90 people may only take you 15ish min to place your order. -Just get the cheesesteak, skip their other sandwiches. -The cheesesteak is amazing, it just, is. Some of their other food is not worth it. -Once you order, maybe another 10ish min for the food to come out. Absolutely worth it, been here twice now, and will come back over and over.

3.5 stars. Sorry,…read moreguys, this is another WAY overdue review from my 2015 visit before the name change from TONY LUKE'S. Took a short day trip to Philadelphia on Sunday, June 14, and had to try for the first time an authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich. When in Rome, right? My cousin and family took me here, the original location of TONY LUKE'S, a mainstay for cheesesteaks in South Philly. The street-side sandwich shoppe had a a classic, no-frills neighbourhood stand vibe, featuring walk-up windows for counter-service. The dining room was a weather-protected, four-wall area with outdoor picnic tables. Tony Luke's covered a broad array of Old Philly Style Sandwiches from Roast Beef ($7.25 - $10.25) to Roast Pork ($7.00 - $9.00), Chicken Cutlet ($7.25 - $10.25), Rib-eye Steak ($7.75 - $9.75), Chicken Steak ($7.25 - $9.25), Hoagies ($7.25 - $9.00) to Specialty Sandwiches ($6.00 - $8.00). They also offered Side Orders, Fresh Sautéed Vegetables, Breakfast and Beverages. Accustomed to being served Philly cheesesteak sandwiches with provolone, grilled onion and green peppers in California (which I love), I was surprised to learn that the traditional cheesesteak from Philadelphia is composed of only thinly shaved ribeye steak, griddled quickly, chopped, and topped with lots of cheese (Whiz or otherwise) served on a soft, crusty hoagie roll. We ordered a Cheese Steak ($8.75) as well as a Cheese Steak Hoagie ($9.75), both of which were tightly wrapped long rolls in Tony Luke's wax paper. They were OK, neither knocked my socks off, unfortunately. My search for a mind blowing cheesesteak will continue when I return to Philly.

I was in…read moreChester for a football game, but made some time to stop by both of the city's famous Cheesesteak stands. The Original Pat's King of Steaks is located in South Philly, specifically in the Passyunk Square neighborhood. It sits at the intersection of East Passyunk, South 9th, and Wharton. The building has many different signs and lights that will let you know that you are in the correct place. Since this is in the city, parking can be somewhat tricky. There are times I have had to circle around, or get whomever I was with to drop me off and have them come back. However, sometimes I have secured street parking not too far away. This will just depend on the time of day, and really the luck of the draw, if you are able to easily locate parking. This is an outdoor stand, meaning there is no inside to enter. You will order at the counter, and food is packaged to-go. However, there are some tables surrounding the building that you can dine at. They are all under the roof overhang, so you will be somewhat protected from the elements. On this day, it was not terribly busy. I really did not have to wait in any kind of line before being able to place my order. This was around 4:00 on a Saturday in September. First, I took some time to look over the menu posted near the sidewalk. There is also a helpful guide on "how to order a steak," for those that are unfamiliar. When it was my first time here, I actually found the humorous display very helpful. I placed my order for two classic Cheesesteak Wit, made with Cheez Whiz. When ordering, you specify if you want Wit (with onion) or Wit-Out (no onion). Given that I was wanting to try the most authentic sandwich I could, I opted for the onions and the traditional Cheez Whiz. My sandwiches only took a minute or so to be ready. As stated, it was not busy, and they are able to whip up these sandwiches rather quickly. I ended up taking my sandwiches to-go, and having them for meals the next few days. They reheat well, and have good flavor. I like having the onions on it for an added texture. Pricing is not terrible. Pat's is more expensive than Geno's by $2 for the same sandwich. My total was $36 after tax for the two sandwiches, making them $18 each. You definitely are paying for the experience and the novelty that is coming to this famous corner of Philadelphia. But, this price is not out of the ballpark of other places in the area. The sandwich is a decent size, and you can definitely get two meals out of it if you are eating it by yourself. So, all that considering, it is a fair value for what you pay. It seemed like most menu items were $20 or under. FYI, they take both cash and card. The staff are quick and efficient. However, it will not be the most friendly or pleasant experience, especially if you do not know how to order. I am not saying that the experience was poor by any means, but be aware that this is not Disney World and they will not be overly kind to you at the order window. Being from Pittsburgh, I had never had a true Philadelphia Cheesesteak sandwich until a few years ago when I visited for the first time. Since that trip, I typically make it a point to stop and get a few sandwiches to take back home with me. I enjoy coming to Pat's for the atmosphere, and the true taste of Philadelphia. I recommend giving it a try at least once, just to say you have had it. Plus, the sandwiches are pretty tasty, too. I will definitely be back here on future trips to South Philly.
