I've been coming to Verona Pizza for a while now and have always had a good experience. The parking lot is large and convenient, but the restaurant itself isn't very big. There is a small outdoor seating area, but I wouldn't recommend it for large groups because space is limited. They get very busy, so I highly recommend calling your order in ahead of time. They provide an order number, and when you arrive, your food is usually ready for pickup. Since the inside can get crowded with customers waiting for orders, calling ahead makes the process much easier. The cheesesteaks are really good, and I've also enjoyed their pizza. The service is good, and the staff seem to work well together to keep things moving and make sure customers get what they need. Overall, I enjoy coming here. It's not very close to where I live, but I still stop by and order when I'm in the area. read more

After a 3 hour hike at Wissahickon, no better way to reward ourselves than with Verona's pizza and cheesesteak. I live an hour away from Verona so when I heard this place was only a 15 min drive away from our hike, I knew I had to stop by. The well known Verona's did not disappoint. Unique to this pizzeria, the pizzas AND cheesesteaks are award winning. The wife and I ordered one of each. When we pulled up, this place was packed for 12PM. It hustlin and busslin! I ordered at the desk and waited maybe 25 mins (not bad at all for ordering in the spot and with the place being busy). Pizza: we ordered the "Hot Honey" at $27. We attacked this thing within 2 minutes of coming out the oven. Incredible dough with depth and texture. Perfect balance of sweet (sauce/honey) and savory (pepperonis/grated parm). Topped with fresh basil and hot honey. I wished there was more hot honey but to each their own. Elite pizza!! I highly recommend Cheesesteak ($18): we ordered it with fried onions and Cooper Sharp. Delicious bread, I'm assuming it's home made and if it's not it's definitely high quality bread. Tender ribeye steak chopped and mixed beautifully with the cheese and onions. Meaty sandwich for sure. I prefer my cheesesteaks a bit more cheesier but I was a happy camper as was my wife. All in all, this joint is pumping out top tier "pizzeria food". I have been hearing about this place from my friends, online foodies , etc , blah blah blah for years and I drive past all the time but never stop. Today I decided to stop and I am glad I did . The service is great for a tiny 5 seat restaurant that sells thousands of cheesesteaks each weekend. I had my preconceived impressions about the cheesesteak by the reviews my friends have given me and from the pictures of the food. My preconceptions were spot on for the cheesesteak but the pizza was a surprise. The choice was the grandma pizza which I have seen reviews and it was definitely one of the best pizzas I have ever had . The sauce was tasty and bountiful, cheese .. quality but the crust was unlike anything I have had . It was super thin but really crispy on the bottom and I think they definitely do something special to the crust, almost like they put butter or oil on the crust to make it crispy.. very good. The cheesesteak, obviously really good but I won't order it again. The roll was really good but a little too soft on the outside, I was expecting a firm crispy outer crust with a soft inside. The steak was excellent and there was tons of meat , tons of cheese and lots of onions. The onions were cooked good and tasty but nothing ground breaking... the main issue I had was there was too much cheese, you can see it in every picture posted, I love cheese but I feel it overwhelmed the sandwich. I couldn't eat this during the work week , it would cause a good coma and that's why I never tried this place. The prices are fine for the quality of the food and it's in a nice area. This is my first time, recommended by a coworker. I usually don't eat sandwiches, so please take my rating and review with the grant of salt. I purchased a Philly chicken cheesesteak. I found the sandwich to be hot and fresh, it had a lot of meat. I didn't eat the bread, as I keep away from bread, but I ate all of the meat and honestly, I was very satisfied if not full. Visiting my daughter from CA we decided to check out Verona Pizza for their Cheesesteak Sandwiches - and we were NOT disappointed! Huge portions of meat on a sesame bun and prepared to our liking (no onions). Sandwich was so big we only ate 1/2 on site and finished the rest later. Okay after getting 3 undercooked pizza pie from Verona, I have to update my review. When this place first opened, the food was good. Service was good. Now with the establishment being popular, service is poor and the quality of the food has went down. I hate to compare this place to another establishment but I used to think this place is better than Angelo's in the city. Soon as you walk in the places, a basic pizza shop, friendly faces and people ready to greet you. We drove an hour to get there. They've been trending with their cheese sticks, so I was frothing at the bit to get there. I do some Food reviews among other things on my YouTube channel.@Verseinator. So I was anxious to do some content. When we got there, we quickly found out that they were out of cheesesteaks. The spot is pumping out 1200 cheesesteaks a day no big deal roll with the punches so I decided to order two pies and an order of wings for my mother at home while we were waiting. I was getting some content in and one of the partners (I forgot to get his name if he sees us I hope he chimes in with his name). Sent someone over to our table with two free grandma slices almost as big as a baby's head just cheese with a little basil. I had pictures, but I made a mistake and screwed it up and I don't have them long story short one was red sauce, and one was vodka. They were exceptional. A small glimpse said what was to come. My fiancé got the hot honey with cup and charred pepperoni, I got the fungi they claim to have fermented dough. I think 72 hours you can't fool my pallet. They're definitely telling the truth one of the best if not the best pizza I've had around this area like I said the ambience is simple just like any ordinary pizza shop but you're not coming there for a fancy date you're coming here to get and everything and I mean every ingredient imported from Italy pie 9.5 out of 10 have to try the wings again. They were a little tough but here again it was a 50 minute drive and I did not try them right away.
