I went here on Saturday October 14, 2019 looking to buy a CX-5. I walk in a young guy ask can I help you I told him what I was looking for he took me to showroom floor to show me what I wanted and doors were lock he says let's try other car so he takes us me and wife outside. All the cars on outside were lock also he said I don't know why there lock he looks around like he's lost. I bought a USED car from them last week, and traded in my old car as a down payment. They had me sign a contract stating that my interest rate with a cosigner would be 6%. I just received a call from Bridgette, the woman who had me sign all the paperwork and went over all of it with me, she said the interest rate is changing to 13%. I feel like they are trying to take advantage of me and bully me into signing a new contract. I do not feel as though they have the customers best interest in mind here, all they're looking for is more money in their pockets regardless of what that looks like. The deal seemed too good to be real, and they seemed to be really open to negotiating at first, but now I feel undermined by them. I will not be returning to them in the future. I am unsatisfied with them and feel they do shady business. I will be reporting them to the BBB. read more

So, I know Yelp has rules about name dropping other places, so if you want to hear about our horrible experience at another Mazda dealership, find my review of it. That crappy dealership is on the southwest side of Phoenix off the 10. They were awful! But Horne Mazda was an excellent experience for us. We couldn't have been happier buying our car from Scott "Elf" at Horne Mazda. We had been put thru the ringer at another place and quickly realized that MANY of the Mazda dealerships in Phoenix are all connected. We had sales guys from all over the place contacting us to sell us a car after we got treated VERY BADLY at another Mazda dealership. So when we called Horne Mazda and got straight forward answers and no b.s. over the phone, it was a breath of fresh air. We had read great reviews on the Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring, and since we were looking for a vehicle with a 3rd row that was spacious and comfortable we weren't disappointed when we test drove it. Priced reasonably and not in super high demand yet (it will be once people realize what is offered for the price) it is a pretty good deal. We loved the car, but we were about to go to another brand after the crap we had been thru. I'm so glad we didn't give up and ended up going to Horne Mazda. My partner drove me into Horne Mazda and told me to "give them a chance" I was understandably on edge, and Scott had to work his butt off to earn my trust. He did. He guided us very carefully, payed attention to everything I was saying, tiptoed when I was starting to worry, and didn't try to give us any lines of b.s. If I had a question, I very bluntly asked and Scott very clearly and accurately answered every question with kindness. Scott was honest and straightforward and gave us a great deal. The financing department guy was good too. Didn't try to nickel and dime us with extras at the end. But he did go in to detail to explain what was covered under warranty and what wasn't. The difference between our first experience and what we were offered at Horne was night and day. I can't express enough how easy it was to buy a car from Horne Mazda. Rarely do you find a dealership that is honest and straight forward. One that you don't feel like you need to go home and take a shower afterword. Horne Mazda was honest, caring, straight forward, and made me trust the car industry again. I don't think Scott will be leaving Horne Mazda anytime soon, but if he does we'll track him down next time we're ready to buy again. I love my new car and I am so grateful we found the guys at Horne Mazda. read more

Bought a car from Horne Mazda in the middle of cancer treatment. I needed a new [used] car but was not 100% so many things slipped by me and the car dealership took advantage of this. I bought an extended warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles. Went to use it after a year owning the car at 54,000 miles for a failure of the electric window and found out the warranty had expired. Turns out the dealership put the start of the warranty the first month of the year the car was manufactured (2012) not the year I bought the car (2017). So I paid for this extended warranty, yet would never be able to use it. They refused to change the date and fix this nasty move. Then they charged me for something the original owner ordered on the car, and also charged me for something that was optional. When I told them I did not opt for that feature and never ordered it - I was told it was mandatory and not optional. I showed them the window info showing it was optional - they would no longer reply to me. Even though years have gone by it still bothers me of all the nasty things they did at a time they knew I was not feeling well. Stay away from this dealership - or the very least take home the contract to read it over line for line before you sign, or have a friend attorney with you to look it over. read more

Service Department Review: When I bought my car, I was walked to the service desk to schedule 1st maintenance. I swear I was told I get one complimentary oil change. I couldn't make the appointment, so I rescheduled on their APP. I checked box for oil change and wrote "first complimentary oil change and all that it includes" in the comment section. I had to reschedule a second time, so I did it on the app again, and wrote the same comment about the complimentary oil change. I couldn't see how to cancel the original appointment, so I called by phone and asked if she could cancel for me. I also reminded this was for a complimentary oil change and she said she'd be sure to note. I went today (35 miles one way) and was told they don't do complimentary oil changes. Even if I did misunderstand, why didn't someone pick up on it before I drove all the way down there? I wrote it on their form twice and once to the lady on the phone and nobody said they didn't offer it. I was very disappointed, wasted a day, and wasted lots of gas. Why have a "comment" field if you don't read it? UPDATE: GM Kylor Messmer emailed me and asked me to call to discuss. I called and had to leave a message. The next day, I got a second email from Mr. Messmer as if I had never called. So I called and left a 2nd message. After leaving him 2 phone messages, I have yet to hear anything back. I gave him Friday and gave him today (Monday) in case he was sick or something. But no call. Customer service just went from poor to VERY poor. read more

Horrible. This place is absolutely horrible and very unsafe. I had a poor tire, they replaced it with a new one. I brought my car into Discount Tire for more services and the tire that Horne Mazda had given me had a bubble in it after 1 day of use. K. Sanchez told me I may have bumped into something causing it to bubble and the man Art who installed the tire on my car argued with Discount Tire over the phone that it was not a bubble and that my car was still safe to drive (while unprofessionally rolling his eyes at a coworker who requested him to check out my tire). Thankfully, discount tire told me to come back to them and they will replace the unsafe tire for me for FREE. Horne Mazda refused to give me a full refund because they stated since I drove off the property, my tire was now considered used and un-refundable. I will never return to this dealership ever again. read more

Once we got there they raised the price on the exact same car by $10,000 and pocketed the keys to our trade in so we couldn't just get up and leave. I got my my car back from the Horne Mazda service department in June 2018 with my lug nuts loose on my front tire!!! I left for a road trip shortly after picking up my car from Horne Mazda. Shortly into my trip my wheel made a noise that continued to get louder and louder!! I had to stop at a gas station and jack up my car to see what was going on and found I could take all 5 lug nuts off my rim with my fingers. read more

The embodiment of con artists. You go in after seeing their ad on the internet. Once you sit down to negotiate a deal, that's when the real fun starts. They have these hidden fees that are added to the cost of the car. Some you can subtract, such as the extended warranty. However, others they have added (to the tune of $ 1K) and they tell you these come with the car. Some sort of paint protection and an additional add on for another "essential" component. After I left the dealership (within 3 minutes of my departure) "Eli" calls me. I told him I didn't care for their hidden cost routine and he kept saying "you think profit is a dirty word, do you have a problem with profit". A very unprofessional dealership that reinforces the stereotype that car dealers are underhanded and dishonest. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from HORNE MAZDA ! Went to online site to get a quote for selling my car to them. Car is in immaculate condition, non smoking, 2 keys, no accidents, brand new tires, and the site gave a range between 11.9K and 13.6K. Went into the location with this information and the manager came back at 10K!! Explained that the site had a higher amount and even shared the screenshot, but the manager didn't even talk to me himself! This place has been a huge disappointment in the past, and I thought that MAYBE they had changed - but they haven't. AVOID THEM if you want someone that will work with you! There are a lot of other Mazda places in the valley, and I will be going to one of them when I buy my NEXT Mazda!! read more

Do not go there. Worst customer service they don't even go out of their way to provide the customer with good service they just sit there. Heard a lady complaining about an appt she scheduled and for some reason was not in the system, reps just stood there without saying anything. The same happened to me I had an appt to drop off my car and get a loaner When I called to double ck they said there was no loaner and there was no appt for me scheduled. And the complimentary car wash?? Supposedly it rained but they should've at least wipe down the water drops. I would go to a non dealer place next time I get better treatment. read more

Within this past week I had an oil change done with Horne Mazda and received excellent service with the entire staff, but especially with Matt! He took the extra lengths to ensure that I understood everything about my car, and the next steps to taking care of it. The next day there was a small oil leak in my driveway, but they took care of it right away and even came to my home to get the stain out. I bought a used Honda S2000 from Horne Mazda. While the purchase experience was good I have to say that a little over a month later I am very disappointed in this dealership. My first issue is that, after getting the car home, I found out that the tires were 10 years old! It is common knowledge in the automobile industry that 10 year old tires are unsafe and should be replaced. So I replaced the tires. Fast forward a month to this week. I took my car in for an oil change at a local Honda dealer and was shown that the engine mounts and radiator hoses were bad and needed to be replaced. Another $1300. I understand that the car is older (but low miles), however I feel that a major car dealer should not sell a car as "pristine" and in "amazing condition" when there are major safety and repair issues that have not been addressed. I have purchased more than a dozen cars, both new and used, ranging from Volkswagen Beetles to Honda Accords to Porsche 911s. This is the first time a dealership has mislead me to this extent and I just wanted to share this word or caution with anyone else who may be looking at Horne Mazda for a vehicle. read more

I visited a Honda dealership and Horne Mazda, test driving a Mazda 6 and the Honda Accord. I found the Mazda 6 to be a comfortable fit for me and the Horne salesperson, Josh, to be very professional in the manner he represented Horne Mazda. The Honda I found had a very uncomfortable right knee position for me and I disregarded the Honda as a consideration, not to say the Accord isn't a good vehicle. I returned to Horne Mazda and after a short time with Josh and his manager they came up with what I thought to be a fair price on a 2018 Mazda 6 Grand Touring Reserve, this being a trim upgrade from what I was looking for. They were both very courteous and professional. Ben in Finance was great and went out of his way to help me. I told him I had financing already, but he wanted to see if he could find me a better rate. He held onto the paperwork until I talked to my bank, and come to find out he had a better deal. I decided to add the gap insurance after we spoke and he had the salesman Kahi drive the paperwork all the way out to my house which was about an hour or so away so I wouldn't have to drive back into town. I just leased a new 2019 CX-5 touring the other day and my experience was outstanding! The salesman Kahi, was absolutely great! I had been to a few other dealerships before this one and his knowledge out did everyone I had spoken with prior to getting this car. He was very knowledgeable about the company and of course the car. I knew absolutely nothing about mazda and Kahi gave a complete explanation of how the car worked. So disappointed and felt I just got scammed. I do not post on yelp, but I left still upset and thought others should know. I went into Horn Mazda in Tempe for a routine oil change. A multipoint inspection is included in the maintenance price. When my sales advisor showed me the multipoint inspection and advised me that I was in the "red" for brake and transmission fluid. I asked her if they checked my vehicle and she confirmed. I then told her that I just completed a brake flush & transmission fluid one month ago. She then changed her story and told me that the red was based on miles. When my vehicle was completed I asked to speak with a service manager. The manager proceeds to ask me what service advisor I used at the auto place I brought my vehicle too. Like he didn't believe me (I would be happy to show the receipt). The manager proceeds to tell me all this stuff with the paperwork which did not make sense. never did they offer to go back and really test and look at my car. Be aware... you think you are going to a reputable place, but it's no better than Jiffy lube. I will never go back again. read more

I purchased a pre-owned MX-5 from them the end of January. The sales lady, Jennifer was very personable and made me feel quite comfortable. Also, the service dept. did a great job of detailing. Other than that, I can't say much of anything positive about the dealership in general. They tacked on a bunch of extra fees which I had asked not to include (including a ridiculous doc fee) which I was told was the norm. They also snuck in some others which were disguised under other areas. I feel that especially the finance guy is both deceitful and unethical. I expressed my concerns to the GM, but never even got a reply from him. Nor did I get any further reply from the salesperson or her boss, who both told me that they would follow up on a question that I had concerning maintenance on the vehicle. My impression is that once they received my money, I was no longer important to them! read more

Totally unethical. Charged me for things I did not option for and when it was brought up they said it was not an option when it clearly states it as an option on the cost sheet. Further, when I purchased the extended warranty for 100,000 miles or 7 years (whatever comes first) I went to apply it for an electrical repair after a year and only 45,000 miles on the car. Told it had expired. Turns out Horne Mazda listed the start date of the warranty as the first month of the year the car was manufactured. In my case it was January 2012. So I paid 7-years of an extended warranty without even owning the car. Tried to get my money back for options added that I did not order, and for the extended warranty which they screwed me over on and they were nasty and would not correct their mistake. Well it was clear it was not a mistake on their end but very calculated. Never never never will I deal with this company again. read more

I was in correspondence with Horne Mazda salesman Dimitri B for a few weeks going over different CPO 2017 Mazda 6 options. After finding a great deal for a Touring version with him offering it at $18,500 we gladly took the drive up to Phoenix from Tucson to give it a look and to discuss the offer. My wife and I went up there and to us it seemed like Dimitri was very rushed and not focused. We took a test drive of the vehicle and he mostly talked about was the radio feature of the car and how to save preferred radio stations. He then asked us to drive as fast as we can toward a speed bump to show how the suspension is great. He also asked us to go from 0 - 60mph on a back-road and then immediately slam the brakes to show how well the brakes reacted. This was a strange test drive since it felt like we were intentionally trying to wear the car out by putting it in different out of the ordinary situations. What was strange is that if we were intending on buying the very same car why would we want to do such stupid things to it before buying it? Why not have a normal drive around a few blocks and perhaps get on the highway to have a feel for it like a normal human being? During the test drive he went on about his past of living in Las Vegas and how the people there were dishonest and hard to be open with. After the test drive, Dimitri sat down with us and showed us what the car was offered for. He indicated that the car will cost an unexpected number of $27,000. This was extremely different from the $18,500 he showed me in the text messages. I reminded him of the previous offer by showing him our messages and the picture of the offer he took for me. He immediately scrambled to find an excuse to why he showed me such a ridiculously large difference of an offer. He questioned if I had the right car shown in the messages and he confirmed that it was indeed the correct car. He attempted to correct his folly by changing the offer back down to the asking price of $18,500. He then added some extraneous costs such as window tint, Armor All layering and Vehicle Theft Registration (VTR). All of these options were something we did not want and it brought the price up to the 20,000 range. I expected add-ons to be shown in the price but what I did not expect was his lack of willingness to negotiate those terms. He did not even indicate or disclose the cost of tax, title, license and documentation fees. After going over with him that we were not interested in having the add-ons and if he were willing to have wiggle-room to change it he angrily stated that "You will never find a new car without add-ons." First of all, Dimitri, the car that we were looking at buying is not a new car. It is a CPO in essence which means it is used. I told him that I have actually purchased a car before in a previous dealership without paying for any add-ons and that it is indeed possible. After getting no where I told him we were not interested unless he was willing to negotiate those added-on costs. He angrily walked out of his office without a formal goodbye to us and left us there to awkwardly leave. It was such a tremendous let down to be shown something great at first and then lied to with an extreme amount that is almost $10,000 more then what was originally stated. Perhaps, if Dimitri is right about Las Vegas, he should probably find his way back there since he would perfectly fit in. We ended up going to Berge Mazda and they were willing to work with us on exactly what we wanted with full transparency. TL/DR = Don't shop at Horne unless you want to be lied to. Go to Berge Mazda. If you have no choice, choose someone else other than Dimitri. read more

This dealership chargers $499 for clear coat already on car. Put over deep scratches and will not fix. They painted and did not fill in these scratches so they show. no one could do this type of work and keep their job. Unethical!!! Also charge for insurance in case your car is stolen $199. I already have insurance.. $700 in add ons!!! No return call from G M Billy. Rubber stripping on 2 windows getting bad. They wanted to charge me $500 to repair. My son did all four on my Accord for $250.!! Would not recommend!! read more

I worked with Sergio on sales and Bridgette on finance. They were both awesome. Highly recommend this dealership. On a side note, we stopped by Berge Mazda first. I apparently parked my car in the wrong spot and got some under the breath comment from the sales rep, who said he would send someone out to help me. We waited outside for 10 minutes....no one showed so we left and drove straight to Horne. We were greeted by Sergio right away who couldn't have been more sweet or helpful. I don't even know where to start. From my first contact to driving off the lot my experience was top notch, first class enjoyable. Dimitri Bowden was a pleasure to work with. He put up with me via email and text message for hours before I even went to the lot. I never ever felt pressured or unsure of the decision I was making. I thought this place was great and have been taking my car here for years until I paid for a diagnostic yesterday for repairing my a.c. that was blowing hot air. No surprise there but why did they recommend I also resurface the brake rotors I paid for them to resurface less than 3 months ago when the replaced my brake pads. And not only did pay for the diagnostic ($99.99 which was disclosed and agreed upon up front) but was charged $12.99 to write up the quote... that seems like some shady nickel and dime-ing to me. Keep my diagnostic fee, I will never trust this place with my vehicle again. read more
