I placed an order on Postmates for pick-up. I ordered a large gizzards dinner. Which comes with fries. I also ordered fried okra as an extra side for $2.99. When I arrived to pick up my order, I checked it and noticed there where no fries, which comes with the dinner. I alerted the cashier, a female, to the mistake. I showed her my Postmates receipt. She proceeded to tell me my Postmates receipt was wrong and refused to give me the fries that came with the dinner. She also had the audacity to have an attitude. I will never give them my business again. It was just FRIES, but she refused to make things right with the customer. It's not like I was asking for anything I hadn't already paid for. The food isn't bad. It's always fresh. My issue is the lemon pepper seasoning that they're using. I brought food and it was covered with lemon pepper seasoning,(Caked on my food) to the point I couldn't taste nothing but LPS! I never asked for it. I am a snappers fan, but Hooks is very similar. The lines here are usually extremely long and sometimes the service can be slow depending on the employee at the window. I ALWAYS ask for extra lemon pepper seasoning and I NEVER get it. The menu on this application didn't included the conch fritters so I called to make sure that the restaurant still included them and he confirmed that they still offered them and wasn't sure why. The owner asked me to place a second ordered with a item close in price to the item that was not on the menu then add a note or call him to remind him to put the correct item. Placing a new order for the same restaurant going to the same location was still changing me a new delivery fee and preparing fee. So I decided to cancel the order and replace the order because it wasn't wort payment $15 extra to get a item that is only $8.99 . I called the owner to let him know I replaced the order and added an item similar in price. He got mad then argue with me and I didn't completely understand him because he had a heavy accent but basically he said that I shouldn't had replace the order and then he told me that I didn't pay the full price for the item I had order in similar price. I told him the substitute item was $8.08 and the item that I wanted was $8.99 but he said that the substitute item was actually $6.99 I explained to him on this app it's not listed as $6.99 it's listed as $8.08 and I also got charged taxes and he got even more mad and said fine he will give me the item I wanted but he won't put the full amount. He was serious he cheated me out of the amount, not only that he made the item I ordered significantly two times smaller than the actual size in addition my order was cold. He also neglected to put the Additional sauce I paid for. I am extremely pissed with his behavior and what he did to me because I been going to this restaurant for years since a little girl and this was the first time I ordered using Uber with him and this is how he treated me. I paid over $55.30 using the app and delivery fees and a tip to the driver for food that would have normally be in the $37 range and I don't think he understands that the items are price higher in the app and that some of the things they offer in store is not on the app and that there is a service fee, taxes and a delivery fee associated with the app or if he forgot because what he did to me should have never happened weight it was my first time or 266 times ordering from that restaurant everyone deserves respect and that cheating people is never the solution even when you think your being cheated out of $1. It was too extreme to take out several pieces out of my order and to make the portion size smaller because you think I was trying to cheat you out of the order. To the owner please take the time to check out your prices listed on the Uber app so you can understand what you did to me. The service was terrible. I went through the drive thur. With my father who was visiting from out of town and wanted some seafood without the wait. The young lady was very clipped and rushed me then when I got the window and waited about twenty mins. She handed me a bag of fries. We were visting the area for the 1st time and looking for good seafood. We ordered take out shrimp, conch and jumbo shrimp. The serving size was enormous. We thoroughly enjoyed our seafood. Biggest jumbo shrimp I have ever had. We had never had conch before and really enjoyed it. Hook is located in a small-ish building with a drive-up. Looks like it used to be a Church's chicken or such. I usually go for the catfish fillets --- EXCELLENT in my opinion. They have lots of choices, and some "Combo" specials that include fries, etc. that get you a break on the prices. They do have some unusual selections including several conch entrees. Hushpuppies are great. The food is cooked to order -- so if you're looking for 'fast food' this is not really the place for you. I like this place so much I have the number stored in my cell. If I call ahead the order is usually ready be the time I get there (10 minutes or so). Food is served in styrofoam. They do have a small dining room. Basically utilitarian, no ambiance. Frequented by locals. I live a couple of miles away and always do carry-out. The parking lot is tiny -- only 10 spaces or so. It's about 2 miles from the beach. The portions are huge, the service was quick (10 minutes) and their spicy garlic sauce gave a special quick to my fish. I just heard the snapper was also very tasty. The neighborhood isn't so great and I wouldn't eat there but the take out is pretty darn good. I have only done the fish , prefer the Ocean perch family meal 12 pc. plenty of food, fair price with lots of fries. Service has always been excellent.
