I believe most of the entrées come with your choice of salad or soup. Be sure to check out the specials menu hanging by the door as there were lots of excellent offerings. In fact, I went with one of the specials, Lemon ricotta pappardelle pasta. The pasta is made in house, and you can tell it is fresh upon the first bite. The sauce was light, and the dish was presented beautifully. My husband went with the eggplant Parmesan, and he ordered a reasonably-priced side of sausage. (A diner sitting next to us, told us that the owner and chef makes his own sausages on site..) His eggplant came with a choice of pasta. He was very pleased with his dish. When the chef and owner, David, realized it was our first time, he came over to welcome us and spoke about his passion for food and his Sicilian heritage. Throughout the evening, both he and his wife moved around the dining room, checking on tables and making people feel genuinely cared for. And then the magic began. We started with the caponata and fritto misto, both fantastic. The vegetables, shrimp, and calamari in the fritto misto were lightly fried and perfectly crisp. For my main course, I had the sole, which was beautifully prepared. My mother's chicken Milanese was absolutely delicious, and the tomato sauce on my father's pasta was some of the best I have ever tasted. Every dish felt thoughtful, refined, and beautifully executed. We chatted with Chef David again on our way out, which felt like the perfect ending to the evening. Savia is more than a restaurant. And ossobuco that had 48 hours of preparation time before it was perfect. Our group sampled 2 appetizers, 4 entrees and 3 desserts, all of which were prepared expertly from the best ingredients, and we left nothing on the plates.
