Well, as a self proclaimed expert pizza eater and a reviewer of over 135 pizzerias in Broward and Palm Beach counties, the pizza is without question worthy of a top five "Best Pizza" award. They offer plenty of lunch specials, but I was here for only one task, to try the NY style pizza. The ambiance was perfect for a pizzeria with the intent to display a nostalgic NY theme. The oversized pizza slice was at a very reasonable three bucks. Lifted the firm "No Flop" slice to my awaiting mouth, thankful that oil from the cheese was not dripping down my hand. So happy hearing that crunch from the thin lightly charred undercarriage. Pleased with the zesty garlic sauce covered lightly by the cheese. The cornicione did not have charred air bubbles, but had an honorable crunch. The gender assigned bathroom was clean with black painted cement flooring complemented by a poster of the original 1972 Godfather's movie starring Marlon Brando and Al Pachino - now it was evident that this was a legit old school Italian pizzeria. Heard Amici's has great pizza, so a friend & I decided to try it. They offer a wide variety of specialty pizzas with several types of toppings ranging from chicken, meatballs, veggies, Hawaiian (pineapple & ham) to upside town pizza with the sauce on top of the cheese. We opted for the regular cheese pizza. The crust was the right thickness: not too thin and not too thick. People's tastes in pizza are subjective, so I'll just say it was a good pizza, but not the best ever. We paired our pizza with an order of penne alla vodka. The dish was flavorful, but the vodka sauce seemed a bit thin and runny. The accompanying "garden salad" was good. It had a nice assortment of veggies. Nothing fancy but satisfying. In fact, casual would be the best way to describe Amici's. The brown butcher paper tablecloth, clamped down at the edges, clearly set the tone for the experience. I wanted to ask for a crayon to drawn on the paper! In keeping with this casual style, the food prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is small, with about a half-dozen tables. Dining at, or taking food out from, Amici's provides a nice value for a decent meal. I've lived 5 minutes away from Amici's for years, but never knew it was there until I started going to the chiropractor right next-door. After a session, my friend I walked over to Amici's. Its a small, quaint spot. Warmly decorated and clean. We sat down and were greeted immediately by Kyra who was very quick with bringing drinks and food! We ordered garlic parm fries, a clam pizza, penny alla vodka, a half pint of orzo (to go) and one fountain drink. They first brought out the breadsticks and Caesar salad that came with the penne dish. The Caesar salad was nice, tasted fresh and wasn't too wet with dressing. The breadsticks were fluffy and hot. Next was the garlic parm fries. I known it sounds dramatic, but these were honestly some of the best fries I've ever had! Despite them dripping in buttery garlicky cheesy goodness (you would think they'd be soggy), they were hot and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I tried to stop myself from eating so much so that I didn't get too full before my entree. Then came the clam pizza, and I was blown away. Pizza is so expensive nowadays and you figure paying for not only a pizza, but one with seafood on it, is going to be expensive. That was not the case at all, this pizza was loaded with clams, and even had three fresh clams still in the shell on top which was awesome! The pizza was baked to perfection, had amazing clam flavor, was nice and cheesy, I can't say enough great things about this pizza. And it was only $19! The penne alla vodka was a huge portion! The sauce had great flavor, the pasta was cooked perfectly. And I can see how the Caesar salad being cool and crisp paired so well with the hot creamy pasta. I had the orzo the next day, and it was really good. I can't say that I would order it again, but it was a nice protein-fueled midday snack. Overall, we paid $55.59 for our meal, which I think is a fantastic deal considering it made 4 meals! (I typically never have leftovers). Well absolutely be back to Amici's. read more

The taste was close to homemade since their marinara sauce is prepared locally in the restaurant. They also have some lunch specials that I might try if I have the time to go there during the lunch break. The only drawback is their selection of very flimsy napkins. Called them, next time came in gave me the right pie for the mistake. Ordered another pie today, burnt horrible couldn't eat it, called said they were sorry want to come back for another tonight, I said no to far away, oh well tuff luck. I would give zero stars if I could. We ordered chicken francese and pizza, and the food was a complete disaster. The sauce for the chicken francese had spilled everywhere, soaking the salad. The pizza was completely undercooked -- the cheese and toppings were basically soup on raw dough. The salad itself was a joke: mostly arugula with just three small pieces of cheese and one slice of prosciutto. When I called the restaurant to address the issue, instead of offering to remake the food or provide a refund (at least for the uncooked pizza), the man on the phone got extremely nasty, called me a liar, and claimed that this was "great customer service." Absolutely unacceptable. Save your time, money, and frustration -- there are far better places to eat. read more

I juat went to Amici's pizza Cafe for the first time....and likely the last. I ordered two cheese slices and a soda. Came out to $8 and change, not bad pricing. Cheese slices are $3.00 each which is ok. That would mean though my drink was approximately $2.00 for a fountain soda.(see picture) The pizza was ok at best. I asked for it just warmed up not hot. That's how I like it. 10 minutes later it came out with steam coming off of it!! Not cool! The cheese was very thick, almost as if it were double cheese, it took away from the rest of the pizza sorta! The sauce was very bland, and there was soooo much of it. It was a bit greasy as well. The best part of the slices were the crust. They nailed that. Nice and crispy, not overdone, not soft or chewy. It was just good. The service was ok at best. The girl at the counter was very quiet and not personable at all. There's a few tables inside and a couple outside. If it's not to hot I'd suggest sitting outside unless when you get home you enjoy smelling like a pizza place!! I had to take a shower to get the smell off of me, i was only inside for about 20 minutes The place was very clean, ill give them that. We had a solid good lunch here the other day. They have reasonable prices. For lunch, they have over a half dozen daily specials (during the week) from which to choose. Plus their regular menu, as well. The shopping center is set back off the main road. There is ample self parking. It's a small and very casual little place. Inside are several tables along one wall. On the opposite wall is the self-serve soda machine and the condiments, etc. You order up front at the counter, but they bring the food to you at your table. We both got their salad and slice special which included a fountain drink. The salad came first. It was a quite large bowl of cut romaine topped with tomato, cucumber, carrots, and a black olive. It had an Italian vinaigrette dressing on it. The large pizza slice had a nice crust and the bottom dough was crisp. It was very cheesy. I added oregano and salt to mine. He added red pepper flakes and grated cheese to his. If you live nearby or work in the area, you should stop here to try one of their specials. read more
