We showed up here after a few Happy Hour drinks next door to soak up the alcohol... with some more Modelo and a medium Meat Lover's Pizza -- pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham, and we added mushrooms. We decided to check out Nicks Pizza and Lee loved it! We are vegans so we asked for special accommodations on our pizza and they had no problem with accompanying us. How wonderful for us!!! Domenic, the son of owner Nick, was so personable and inviting. He made us feel like we were back home in New England. I highly recommend Nicks Pizza. I've had Nick's pizza a few times. It is the perfect place for a quick bite during my lunch break. It is a NY style pizza and it's huge. They give you parmesan and oregano which i think is a cute touch. The staff is very friendly and they work fast. I always get one slice because it's filling but sometimes i get two to have another slice later. The pizza is served hot and the dough tastes delicious. What a great find. We were driving home from Fort Lauderdale and wanted to try a new pizza place. I did some quick searches and I had Nicks pizza tagged so went for it. They had a connection to a pizza ordering app so I downloaded that and ordered the pizza. I showed up right as it was done so I got to bring home a piping hot pie. It was a quick pickup, When I walked in the fella working the front made quick eye contact,, asked for a name, and boom, I was out the door. It's located in a nice spot off Dixie that we may have to come back just to walk around and enjoy the small town main street vibe it had. But we had our pizza, and what a pie it was! we handpicked our toppings. They are a traditional spot so they dont have a supreme necessarily on the menu. But they had a pick your toppings and we got a few different things. The ingredients were all excellent, from the peperoni to the mushroom's to the olives. My family and I have been getting pizza from Nick's for the past 5 years since we have moved to Deerfield Beach. It is our go to on Friday Night. Service is great, staff is wonderful but the pizza is the best in the area. There are like 22 pizza places in the general area and we have tried a majority of them. Either dining in or take out the pizza is perfect. We always have leftovers for the next day and it's even good the next day cold. If you haven't tried Nick's yet, you must.... So let me start by saying I Love a good pizza. There was a mix up in the delivery, I tried to cancel the delivery since they originally didn't find our place and tried calling me but I was away from my phone. I called them back but by this time it was an hour already. Don't get me wrong this was just as much my fault as anyone's so I am not pointing fingers. I finally called back and told them to just tell the driver not to bother since it was now 1.5 hours later. Dominic jumped on the phone and told me to keep the pie. The driver did show up a few minutes later and refused to let me pay for the pizza. I did force him to take gas money. I couldn't do that to him. I will say I did eat me two pieces and listen all pizza lovers know a good pizza is good even when it's cold so I know this would have been amazing hot. Great customer service. I ordered a pizza online at 10:58, they said delievry was to be at 11:45 -- at 12:20 the delivery service called the resturant and they said it was out for delivery and it would be less than 10 mins - mind you the place is 5 minutes away. at 12:45 the delivery service called and they said its out for delivery - I called the resturant and they told me it was in the oven - I said I'm coming to pick it up - it wasn't in the oven or being delivered it was sitting on the shelf -- my pizza was cold by the time I got back to the office - remmeber 5 minutes away - all around poor service -- they said they were backed up - my question is how many pizzas went out that were ordered after mine, probably a tone because I orded mine at 10:58 so they were taking orders after i placed mine and they were giving those orders out to people who came in. I ordered something directly off of their menu (sausage and pepperoni Stromboli). Yes, I was read the order back correctly. However, they sent a Stromboli with peppers and sausage (I think)? I can't eat peppers because of the indigestion it gives me so I definitely didn't order THAT. I called to inquire about a refund and was met with a combative tone when they pulled my order to inform me they delivered what I ordered. I again emphasized I ordered something directly from the menu (not custom), stating specially to the person taking my order over the phone, "I would like the pepperoni and sausage Stromboli like the one listed on your main menu." Person who took my order was cordial on the phone and I understand mistakes happen. When mistakes happen, all I ask is for it be made right. I live thirty minutes away from Nick's and they told me if I bring it back they'd remake it. Not a convenient option at all for an error of which I am not at fault. Regularly ordered from this establishment 3-4 times a month and literally moments before placing this order, I was ranting and raving to all of my family and friends about how "Nick's" is THE place to get pizza and Italian takeout. I was going to continue to overlook the typical rude customer service I receive (again, with the exception of the woman who took my order) as their food is THAT good. About 90% of the time you order, they make you feel like they're doing you a favor to take an order. Was willing to still overlook that but that stops now. I've sent a copy of this review to all of my family, friends, and neighbors who I am close with, as I don't want them NOT knowing how unethical this place is in treating regular, loyal customers. Update: Went back and was severely disappointed. The first time I went I noticed not all the employees were wearing masks. I thought this was probably a one time thing, they weren't super busy so I didn't think much of it. This time, multiple workers were not wearing masks and there were multiple customers in the store. The employees were all behind the counter, however there is not glass separating you and the kitchen. Even more disappointing were the garlic rolls. We ordered a pizza and rolls for lunch and instead of the delicious, warm, fluffy knots we got last time, they were sub rolls (what I assume to be leftovers) smeared with garlic and butter and warmed up. It would have been nice for a heads up that they either weren't ready for the day or that they were out instead of sending me home with not so great food. Original: Huge slices and delicious garlic rolls. Not open for indoor dining during covid (thank you!). It's hard to find good pizza in Florida and this was delicious. Our family have been patrons of Nicks for few years. In the beginning, the food was great and delivery time was reasonable but lately.... The quality of food has declined and our delivery experience was beyond disappointing. Not only did we call 4 times...and waited literally "2 hours" for our pizza ....They didn't get the order right.
