We were visiting the area and staying close by and decided we wanted pizza tonight!!! My wife saw Pizza Piez and said let's pull in and get pizza.... One thing we noticed the pizza was made fresh with all ingredients! We ordered the 12" Garbage Pie with Pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, mushrooms. onions, peppers and black olives. We wanted to have enough to take home for lunch the next day. It was good and tasty. The pizza crust was good as well! The only negative was the tables and floors needed cleaned up. They must have had some messy customers previously and no one had cleaned up. Even the entire time we were there no one went around to clean up. Jo H's review brought us here to try some pizza. Right on SE 10th Street, we have passed this spot many times and did not notice this corner spot. So glad we got here. We stopped by for a pizza lunch. I had bookmarked this place several months back after reading a review by Yelp elite Jo H. I was surprised to learn they've been in this location over 8 years and I'd never heard of them until I saw her review. We came a bit before any lunch hour rush, so there were only a couple folks doing takeouts. I decided to do their two slices and a drink special. I saw their chicken and bacon white pizza in the display case and it looked appealing. That's what I ordered plus a soda. My husband decided to also get two slices. He chose regular pizza with added mushrooms. Both slices were delivered at the same time. He was pleased to see fresh mushrooms -- not canned -- on his slices. He ate both thin and crispy portions. The pizza slices were quite large. I ate one and took my other one home (a great breakfast this morning!). The white part of my pizza was ranch dressing. It was topped with lots of crispy bacon pieces and grilled chicken chunks. It was very good. I'm sorry we didn't find this place sooner. Pizza Piez is a life saver when it comes to late night food. It was pretty busy when I arrived. Patrons were enjoying their pizza slices and the casual ambiance. After greeting the male employee behind the counter, I placed an order for a smash burger and fries. I was also thinking about getting some wings, but changed my mind after hearing how much it costs now...the menu price has increased. It is what it is, but that's ok, I'll get them another time. Instead I chose to get an oreo mousse pie. My order was quickly prepared and I couldn't wait to dig in. The smash burger was delicious! It consisted of two smashed patties with caramelized onions, yellow American cheese, and burger sauce. I managed to get a few bites of the burger in while also gobbling down some fries. They sell pizza by the slice and pie. The combinations displayed look so good. It was hard to choose one. They only do the thin crust. I got the Barioni. Ordered half plan, half pepperoni classic pie and was fantastic.... came out HOT with tons of cheese, lots of pepperoni slices on top and a crust that was not too thick and cooked just right. Also ordered a chicken pa sandwich... the roll was so fresh that it almost 'appeared' to be made right there at the time of ordering (doubt that but it tasted amazing and I'm not a roll expert lol). The chicken cutlet was NOT flat/tough like many places, but rather thick and juicy with plenty of sauce. And the sauce... it was sooo good.... the perfect flavor and a tad sweetness. We also had an order of fettuccini Alfredo which came out very hot.... it was even still hot when we packed the leftovers to go! So good and a lot. My daughter had a lasagne dish... layers of goodness. They brought us over some garlic knots, nothing like I've had before in NY... and I LOVED them. They weren't the traditional knots with the hard exterior... these seemed to be hand made, fresh, fluffy perfection. I'll start with the service. It was decent. I placed my order with no problem. I ordered a large cheese and a small cheese, to keep it simple. The problem lies within the food! Pizza Piez should be ashamed for the product they're selling. First, the sauce was none existent. Secondly, the cheese was sufficient, but had no flavor. Third, it tasted burnt! It didn't look burnt upon first inspection, but upon folding the slice, it looked like two scat pak challengers had been doing doughnuts on it! It was painful to ingest. Finally, I watched as other pizzas were made and someone got some old chicken that had been sitting on top of the prep station in a takeout tray! There was not enough of the old chicken, so they cooked some fresh. Piez was an epic failure and should really look into whatever is causing their product to taste burnt. Had I not been staying in a hotel, my $38.00 could've been spent buying DiGiorno's frozen pizza and had a better experience. read more

I visited on 12/6/2021 to take out a chicken parmigiano meal. I will review it on the following criteria: 1) Price: It is about the same as all other local pizza places. It may have even been about one dollar less. 2) Service: The workers were certainly not overly friendly when I walked in. It took a few moments to even get acknowledged. 3) Portions: They were fairly, but could have been a bit more sizable. 4) Food Quality: This is by far the most important criteria. It was good, I have to say. My only complaint was that they didn't have Caesar salad, just a house salad. It isn't a bad place at all. Frankly, I would have given it a 3.5/5 stars, but Michael's is overall better service, portions, and food quality. Marginally better mind you, but better none the less.
