Again - it was Easter weekend and therefore, it's understandable to me that some booths would not be open because that's a prominent holiday weekend when some people travel. Anyway, we had been walking around for a while and decided we'd purchase some takeout after a kind encounter for a sample with the owner - Mom was sold and got a BBQ rib platter with baked Southern macaroni and cheese as double sides. I'm not a huge rib fan (but those ribs were delicious), still I got a separate side of macaroni and cheese to accompany the protein I had already prepared at home. Truth bomb -- that mac and cheese could be a meal all by itself. It was creamy and hearty, the way it should look and taste. The place is kind of hard, to put together thematically. I get the Miami color scheme but the layout was kind of weird with a bar on the side and a lot of kids drawings on the whole left side of the wall. The food was okay, the burger lacked a lot of the depth that I expected from a smash burger. It was just a regular burger, kind of bland. The fried Onions were "okay" too, it felt like they didn't bring the oil to temperature before dropping it in so they were soggy and oily. The service I got was good though, the girl explained everything and was really nice. I did leave a tip even though I honestly don't think they should be asking for tips for a place where you have to clean up after yourself and all they did was bring it out.
