This is another visit to Hotdogopolis and I felt compelled to update my review because the food keeps pulling me back. The hot dogs are legitimately delicious. Perfectly cooked with a fresh, soft poppy seed roll which elevates the whole thing to another level. It's the kind of bun that makes you understand why some places obsess over bread. They've replaced the tables and old chairs with newer, sturdier ones - big improvement and much appreciated. The dining area feels cleaner and more comfortable now. The chili is excellent: rich, meaty, and well-seasoned. I also got the red onion sauce this time, but fair warning - it's basically all sauce with onion pieces swimming in it. If you love that classic saber NY style red onion sauce, you'll be happy. If you're expecting lots of actual onions, temper your expectations. The macaroni salad is solid too - creamy enough that it pairs well with everything. Only real downside remains the service. The staff isn't rude, exactly, but they always seem a little annoyed or stern, like they're doing you a favor by taking your order and bringing out your food. They have a great product here - a smile and a little warmth would go a long way. Going inside, it seems most of the tables were full, but we were seated quickly. Today, we ordered 1x Carolina dog with a wild boar jalapeño & cheddar flavored sausage, 1x ChicagoDog, 1x Korean Dog, and 1x small fry. Moving on with my review, everything was AWESOME! The Carolina dog had meaty scrumptious flavor between the boar and chili. Never can go wrong with an original chicago dog as the tangy and bright flavors mesh so well! And the Korean dog had nice contrast of ingredients (especially that chinese mustard as it had quite a kick!). The fries were freshly cut, crispy, and fluffy inside as well. Service was great and very patient as I tried to figure out what type of hot dog I wanted. The hot dogs were great quality, the bun was ... let's say fantastic- so soft and coated with wonderful seeds. The sauerkraut was great- get the sautéed onions as a topper...trust me!!! This place is deservedly the king of hot dogs. I don't eat hot dogs often...for many reasons but predominantly because my stomach hurts after. This is such a fun and unique experience! It's definitely old-school Boca. It's a cute little place with a few tables. It's a nonstop flux of customers and it's a mixed crowd. The team members are really kind and bring all the food to your table. I'm unfortunately allergic to hot dogs, but they do have other menu items including chicken sausage, salads and more. I tried to order a wrap but they weren't available. I instead ordered a chicken sandwich. The bun was really good but the chicken was a little chewy. The star of the show was the french fries. They tasted freshly cut, they were crunchy but soft and they had the perfect amount of salt. My dad ordered a pulled pork sandwich and my mom ordered a caesar salad. The dressing for the salad was really good and I'll be trying the salad next time. We also ordered onion rings, which were cooked perfectly. We ended the meal with a chocolate malt milk shake and it was so good. I've been on the hunt for a good milkshake for years, and I've finally found one! It's perfectly sweet and not too thick. Well that was probably the best decision I made all day upon walking in when they opened at 11 nice atmosphere lotta cool things hanging on the walls an older gentleman sitting behind the counter, took my order. I ordered a Chicago dog, which was outrageous. Now I start noticing the things on the wall everything's about Chicago so that intrigues me to ask about an Italian beef sandwich, which is one of my all-time favorites let me tell you what if you like Italian beef sandwiches get your butt down there today because it was the best sandwich you could have without being actually in Chicago. The menu is really varied and it has game meat too which is pretty unique to hot dog places. I had my usual Colombian dog. Quality is as I remember it and for a couple bucks you can get a drink and fries with it. Really affordable place to grab some lunch with today's prices. OMG, Hotdogopolis!! So good! I walked-in and dove head-first into a fantasy hot dog world; a hotdog opolis. The beauty of their menu is that you can opt for the traditional Chicago dawg while also choosing from among different cuisine-themed hot dogs (believe me, it's like Sophie's Choice). I chose three hot dogs - the Chicago (loaded with relish, a pickle slice, tomato, onion pepper and lined with (has to be) yellow mustard), the Columbian (with a light, slightly sweet, creamy "pink" sauce and a quail egg (how cool is that?)) and the Carolina (with chili, white onions, and coleslaw and a slight kick) (they were all on a poppy seed bun). Each one stood on its own and was a joy with each bite - not to get too detailed, but I took a bit or two out of one, drank some water to clear my palette, then took a bite out of the next, etc. (they were like fine hot dog wines). The price is quite reasonable, too, less than $20. I intend to go back and try each hot dog. I think that's a good life goal. read more

Firstof all the place was filthy approaching I have never seen dirtier windows ever, not one wiped off clean table, trash was over flowing into another trash can on the floor. A man and woman who said, they owned the place took our order. Ordered a Chicago Dog and the bun immediately broke out at the bottom, complete mess, we also ordered a Chicago hot tamale it was microwaved dry. Chicago style Italian beef I asked for it a little wet with some au jus on the side. It was soaked floating in au jus it could not be picked up. The young girl who worked there seemed to have no clue. I would not go back again. The biggest turn off the the dirty look of the place. Sorry, there were many people in there.
