A celebrity patron. Not a clue when we walked in. Possibly a reason for the the cost, being featured on "Triple D?"

This has to be a "known" to locals place. We were not sure just where the door was. What looked to be a side door is the front door. No combination plates are served. It's strictly al la cart. I had 1/2 pound of brisket and a half rack of ribs. The brisket was tender and moist with decent bark. Quite tasty. The ribs had a good smoke ring and were very tender, not "fall off the bone," having a slight pull when biting. Neither the brisket or ribs needed any sauce. They were very good! The only down side was the cost. Over $50 with an iced tea. A bit more than I expected to pay. The brisket was so good that another member of our team went back and got more.

WOW! Delicious brisket sandwich and hot & sweet hush puppies. The brisket was on point. Moist and full of flavor, no sauce needed, totally recommend. Hush puppies were dense and yummy. Hubby had jerk chicken sandwich and he tells me it was very good, fries were hot and crispy. Service was awesome, welcoming and friendly. Food came out fast and portions were perfect. Sweet tea was sweet, but refreshing on a hot Florida day. Ambiance was chill, with good music. I can't wait to come back and try something else. You got to try this place out!!!

True hidden gem located right on Atlantic Avenue. We got the Happy Hour burgers which were amazing! We added French Fries which were also good! My husband tried the Mac & cheese, Cole slaw, and plantains. All were pretty good - the Cole slaw was average but the plantains were great. Shout out to Milo, our bartender who is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We love the vibe from the outside decor as well as the inside. We will definitely be back.

BEST smashburgers in town (SHHHH)!! Also amazing BBQ! The spicy wahoo dip is a must as well, and is mildly spiced unless you ask them to make it hotter. This location has a cozy vibe! We enjoy sitting at the bar talking to Milo and Ethan (the master Smashburger maker). Service is excellent and the staff is very welcoming. For the pups, they sell smoked pig ears and my dog loves them! We always grab them to go for her. She even enjoyed a Smashburger for her 4th birthday at home Wanna save some money? They are on InKind! Check it out.

Back for some BBQ Pork Spare Ribs (9.2) and shared an Old Fashioned Burger (8.5) as an app. The Caribbean Slaw (9.0) so good and Fries (7.8) nice and hot, rounded out our meal. Love the Gulf Stream Graphic IPA (9.5) they have on tap. "The boys" are great and provide excellent hospitality. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I went for my 3rd time! Sent all of my friends and family and they are obsessed! Hands down-by far the best burger I've ever eaten! Just like I like my patties-flat with some burnt crispy edges, super uber cheesy and saucy as evinced in the photos. I love the sauces! The coffee sauce and the spicy sauce-soooo good! I don't get pickles on my burgers. I had a tangerine beer-the nice guy behind the counter gave us a little tasting! Fries are crispy and pretty good. We always go for happy hour deal. 4:30-5:30. I told my mother that we can't eat here every week because my cholesterol is high but it's sooo delicious!

We have been wanting to try the new Tropical Smokehouse in Delray since it opened, so we stopped in yesterday. We parked next door in a lot with free parking, which was convenient. There was plenty of open seating inside since most people seemed to prefer sitting outside when we walked by. You can either order with someone at the front or use the electronic ordering screen. I ordered the chopped brisket sandwich, and my boyfriend ordered the burger and another chopped brisket sandwich. The chopped brisket sandwich was good and had a generous amount of meat on it, though there were a few fatty pieces. It was served on a nice bun. My boyfriend enjoyed both sandwiches, but he was especially wowed by the burger, he's still talking about how good it was! The sides are $5 each, but you can choose 3 for $13, which is what we did. We got the kale Caesar, mac and cheese, and fries. The kale Caesar was good, but it could have used a little more dressing, so I asked for an extra side. The mac and cheese was pretty good, and the fries were nice and crispy. They had around five different BBQ sauces, including spicy, mustard, coffee, sweet, and white BBQ sauce. They were all unique, but we didn't absolutely love any of them. We'll definitely be back, though. They have a happy hour every day from 4:30-5:30 with $5 single burgers and 50% off drinks. The food came out quickly, and overall we really enjoyed it. Our friends also got the hot and sweet hush puppies, which were VERY good!

So good! The meats were incredible--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. I'm a big BBQ sauce fan, and every sauce they had was amazing. My favorite was the coffee BBQ sauce; it was unique and absolutely delicious. Our server noticed it was our first time there, gave us great recommendations, and made sure we got to try every BBQ sauce before deciding on our favorites. That personal touch made the experience even better. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy an amazing meal. This was such an awesome surprise while we were looking for somewhere to eat in the area. We'll definitely be making the drive from Miami to come back again!

Holy smokes. Best burger I have ever had. Both my husband and I said it. I liked that we could order on the screen, sit outside with our toddler and try so many unique bbq sauces. They text you when your order is ready and have a great station to box up any leftover. The hush puppies were unreal as well. My toddler housed the mac and cheese. Perk of sitting outside is you get to watch pit master work his magic!

Came here Sunday night for a quick bite with my boyfriend at Tropical Barbecue, and overall had a great experience. I loved the variety of sauces they offer. He ordered the full rack of ribs and they did not disappoint -- the seasoning and flavor were absolutely on point. I really enjoyed the mac and cheese and the crinkle-cut cheese fries as well. The only downside was the brisket, which was extremely lean, dry, and lacked flavor. That said, I'd definitely recommend sticking with the ribs -- major Flintstones vibes (in the best way possible)!

This windowless restaurant on Atlantic Ave is a wonderful surprise. Fun rustic BBQ environment with tasty burgers and sides along with an interesting smoked meats menu. Very helpful, friendly, and pleasant bartender ((Milo) and server. We had the burger, fries, Mac & cheese, plantains, and coleslaw. Next time I will try some BBQ! A absolute must visit as you head to the beach in Delray.

Everything I had at Tropical Smokehouse was fantastic! The pork spare ribs were tender, juicy, and tasty. The jerk chicken was amazing; the brisket was a bit dry but dipped in the sauces was great, the corn bread was slightly sweet, the mac & cheese was creamy. Next time, I have to try the pulled pork. It's not a large space, but there's a good-sized back yard. The outside of the restaurant stands out; red and white pattern.

It took a few minutes to get a grasp on the menu. The staff was friendly and helped explain everything. I ultimately went with the lean brisket, a side of coleslaw, a side of collard greens and they also added in a piece of cornbread. My wife got the same, except she got the regular brisket which was much more fatty. I absolutely loved my food. Even though the brisket was lean, it was still very tender and of course the flavor was sensational. The sides were also solid. I liked that the coleslaw was chopped on the finer side and it wasn't too saucy. The collard greens also had great seasoning. I didn't try the cornbread but it looked pretty good. The only complaint we had was the texture of my wife's brisket which was a little on the mushy side. The flavor was good, it's just texture wise, most of it was like a big blob of meat and fat, rather than brisket slices. She wound up throwing more than half away. I've actually passed this place a million times and eaten at restaurants all over the area. But somehow I never stopped in at Mission BBQ. Glad I did! Four stars, I am looking forward to trying more items off their menu.

So when…read moreI saw Chef Michael's video the other day announcing he was going to start offering Egg Rolls on Sundays, I immediately remembered wanting to try the BBQ Chinese Spareribs already on his regular menu. I started thinking... if the Chinese food at Flybird is anywhere near as impressive as everything else they do, this could be a revelation... especially considering the dearth of really good Chinese food in South Florida. So I waited for Sunday with anticipation. Yes... they had Egg Rolls! And I also noticed they recently added Egg Drop Soup to the regular menu. Perfect... now I could assemble a complete meal. In addition to the Egg Rolls, I ordered the Egg Drop Soup, BBQ Chinese Ribs, and Chicken Fried Rice. Wow! Winner Winner Chinese Dinner!! Everything was excellent. The Egg Drop Soup is rich and heartier than the versions you typically see... absolutely delicious. The Egg Roll is hand-rolled and feels like a gourmet interpretation... exactly what you'd expect if a serious chef decided to elevate a classic, served with housemade Duck Sauce and Chinese Mustard. The BBQ Ribs were also fantastic... fall-off-the-bone tender, meaty, and loaded with flavor. And then there's the Chicken Fried Rice... unlike any version you've probably had before. It's packed with generous chunks of chicken and real vegetables throughout. Broccoli in fried rice? When have you ever seen that? A huge portion too... loved it. Everything here always seems to be done with thought and care. We're lucky to have a serious chef like Michael bringing his culinary talent and creativity to Delray Beach. He keeps finding ways to surprise people... and that's a big part of what makes Flybird so much fun. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I was seriously craving some BBQ so after consulting with the oracle of goodness ( also known as my Yelp app) we ventured out. It is a very small place that screams authentic the moment you walk in the door. No frills. Repeat, no frills. This isn't a date night place oozing with ambiance. I could smell the pit as we walked across the parking lot and my Pavlovian response kicked in. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, baked beans and hush puppies. I know what you're thinking, it's a lot of food but hey, don't judge me...LOL. I was amazed at the portion size. There was enough pulled pork to make three huge sandwiches. The brought out a roll in a zip lock sandwich bag and I promptly made and devoured some heavenly pork. So juicy, smoky and flavorful. The hush puppies were so good...crunchy brown on the outside, sweet and tender inside. I was popping these in my mouth and at frenetic and calorically unhealthy pace. They are delicious but moderation is advised. The baked beans were good but the mac and cheese was not on par with everything else. That's the only thing that didn't knock my socks off. My friend had the fried catfish. "Excellent" he exclaimed! Again, the portions were huge. He had fried okra and collard greens as his sides and he proclaimed them "the ultimate soul food" side dishes. The service was homey, polite and simple. Nothing fancy, just right. Needless to say it was more than we could eat and we got to-go containers to wrap up the rest for later. I only hope I can survive the oncoming food induced coma in time to rally for a big weekend. Highly recommended for serious "Q" lovers.
